Her super strength eminated from her golden belt, but if removed she is still a skilled fighter, but without her otherworldly strength. With these weapons and tools, as well as her already physical skills as an Amazon Warrior, made Wonder Woman nearly impossible to defeat.
Among her sister amazons, she is considered to be, as beautiful as Aphrodite, wise as Athena, swifter than Mercury and stronger than Hercules.
Wonder Woman has been a defender of right and champion of good over evil for nearly 70 years. As an Amazon she does not age in the same manner as mere mortals, and has not lost her strength or beauty, but she has had to relocate from city and job as her alter ego Diana Prince several times over the years. It was painful, but necessary, and it has led her down many pathways, some of them quite removed from others.
When she first arrived, she located in the United States of America just prior to the outbreak of the Second World War. She joined the navy, becoming a WAVE, and working as a secretary to Major Steve Trevor, at the Office of Strategic Services, the forerunner of the C.I.A. In this position, she found herself privy to intelligence on Axis operations in the United States, and many time battled agents of Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan, as well as Fascist Italy, as they worked to defeat the Allies, and conquer the world.
And now, in the early years of the 21st , as a secretary to the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, she works to defeat new enemies, both foreign and domestic. Criminal kingpins, bent on destroying lives through illegal drug sales, or forcing wayward girls into prostitution, this is the sort of criminal Wonder Woman finds herself battling now. Radical religious fanatics, international pirates, neo Nazis, and street gangs, the list is seemingly never ending.
But it is not just now, and in this time, or in the past. It is also in other worlds, alternate worlds, where events and people are as they might have been, if events had occurred differently. In this case, our story takes us to a world where Wonder Woman is not part of the “DC” comic universe, with Superman, Batman and the Flash to name a few. But in the Marvel universe, the world of the Incredible Hulk, The Amazing Spiderman, and Iron man. How would this world treat the Amazon princess? Who would be her enemies? And who would be her allies?
And perhaps most bizarre, Wonder Woman found herself in a world where she merely played at being Wonder Woman. It’s 1976, and she’s an actress on a popular television series. Her name is not Diana Prince, but Lynda Carter. She is still the same beautiful, woman, with bright blue eyes, sparkling teeth, and a stunning body. She appears physically the same as before, but thinks of herself as Lynda the actress, not Diana, defender of good. She has no powers, save those that she portrays on the rather mediocre television show. She is very popular with people of all ages, and fame and popularity opens many doors, and makes many things possible. Where will this fame take Lynda?
