As Jared got into the truck he had to close the door fast, otherwise he wouldn’t have been able to stop himself from going back to Olivia.

‘I do hope that you have some sort of plan, Jared. You know, other than the stupid one that you told Olivia.’ Said Ty.

‘She bought it — that’s all that was important.’ He replied.

‘Laysea didn’t. She whispered to me that she hoped you did NOT do anything stupid like pretend that you were dead. My wife has a particular idea about that subject – her advice is not to do it.’ Jason added.

‘Got any ideas Jas? I really have nothing besides trading myself and I’m not really that excited about dying now when I’ve just found Olivia.’ Jared asked softly while turning to look at his twin.

‘Maybe – look we know someone has to be keeping him off the grid. Someone that has a lot of power so that really limits it.’

‘Jake?’ Ty asked.

‘Well let’s shake his tree and see what falls out shall we?’ Jason said with a sinister smile as he pulled his phone out and began to dial. ‘Mac, hey I need Jake’s mobile number…Yeah I know that it’s unlisted… Dude if anyone can get it has to be you… Give me a call back, hey by the way this is a priority. Work on nothing else other than this.’ With that Jason flipped his phone shut.

Silence settled in the truck as each man was in their own thought. Jared thinking of the woman who he left completely destroyed after she told him that she loved him. The joy that was running through him right now! On a sadistic note he wondered if he was only to know love to lose it to his own death.

Jason was more concerned about saving his brother and children. There was no way he would let this bastard walk away if he brought harm to any of his family. Just then his phone started to vibrate in his hand he flipped it open, ‘Jason…555-7345?…got it thanks Mac.’

He pushed the end call button then began dialing, it seemed to take almost a minute before someone answered the other end.

‘Tell Jakey boy that Jason wants to talk to him – and if he refuses then I’ll find him and he will feel the massive amount of pain that I’m able to inflict on him…Jakey, you hiding from me?… What do you know about Tom Oberman and I want to know fast… Don’t give me that shit Jake – the fucker took my kids, my niece and my cousin’s son then on top of that he wants my brother and something tells me that it is not to go fuckin’ clubbing with him!… What do you know about it?…Yeah well mother fucker if it’s not you protecting him then you know who the hell is…Jake I’ll put a bullet straight through that little Vienna sausage that you call a cock, I will detach your balls from your body then feed them to you and while you’re about to die from the massive blood loss, I’ll give you a blood transfusion so that I can keep you alive enough to start cutting each of your digits off one by one and feeding them to a tank of piranhas as you watch, making sure to burn the cuts closed so that you will survive that much longer until you’re just a torso then I’ll put you in the tank with them to be eaten alive! Do you fuckin’ hear me?

‘Now you fucking tell me where the kids are!…I fuckin’ know he is psycho! Did you miss the part where I said he kidnapped kids to get to my brother’s wife? Since Jared won’t…what?…Yes you fuckin’ idiot Jared got married, now as I was saying since Jared won’t give her up then the fruit wants Jared. HE WANTS TO FUCKIN KILL MY BROTHER! And if you think that for one second I’m just going to stand by and…What?…

‘That’s what I thought you fuckin’ bastard! You fuckin’ helped kidnap babies! I hope that you are fuckin’ happy with yourself…You better fuckin’ believe that you are going to give them back to me right now and you’re going to keep the information from Tom –

‘We’ll see to getting rid of that scum from the face of the earth! Where the fuck is my kids…Ty write this down 27453 West Hempton Street, Room 1265…Jake? Don’t let me catch you in the city for a very long time.’ Jason snapped his phone shut.

‘Let’s go get the kids. Ty I want you to jump in the other truck and get your rifle then find the highest perch that you can around pier 14 and shoot to kill. Tell Jerry to jump in with us so we can go get our kids. Ty pick 5 or 6 other sharp shooters and put them around the pier. I want this bastard dead and nowhere near my brother to hurt him!’ Jason said in a tone that showed his level of anger.

The truck came to a stop and Ty jumped out and ran back to the truck behind them. Jerry switched places with him in that truck then ran to the first truck and jumped into the seat that Ty had just vacated. ‘What’s the plan?’ He asked the backseat.

‘We have the address where the kids are. We’re going to get them then we’re going to take care of Tom.’ Jason said.

‘Who had the kids?’

‘Jake.’ Jared replied.

‘The mother…did he know who they belonged to?’

‘Of course he did. Granted he may not have known that Bret is yours or Chloe is mine – he fuckin’ knew that Dylan and Trista is Jason’s.’ Jared gritted out.

‘So we’re going to get the kids but how are we going to make sure that Tom isn’t clued in?’ Jerry asked.

‘We’ll make sure that Jakey keeps his mouth shut.’ Replied Jared.

True to Jake’s word the children were right where he said they would be. When the guys walked into the room with their bodyguards the children were watching children shows on TV with one guy in the room. Bret saw them first but Chloe recognized them first. ‘Daddy!’ She yelled running to Jared, the twins catching her excitement also yelled ‘Daddy!’ Then took off towards Jason almost throwing him off balance. Chloe without missing a beat thought that she needed to give Jared the play by play action that he missed.

‘Daddy, guess what? There was some men and they grabbed us then they covered our eyes and mouths and took us! Then when we could see again we were here and he’, she pointed to a man cowering in a corner, ‘said that we were big babies and that we had better shut up or he would give us something to cry about! Tell him that was not nice to say daddy, cause it is not, not even a little. When I told him that you would tell him so he pulled my piggy tail that Aunt Laysea put in my hair! It really hurt daddy.’ She told him while rubbing her head.

After she had pointed to the man Jared never stopped watching him. ‘You touched my daughter?’

‘I…uh…um…’ suddenly a wet spot appeared in his crotch area then he fainted dead away.

‘Ewwww,’ Bret yelled, ‘He peed his pants! He is a big pee pee baby!’

Jason picked up both of his kids and looked at Jerad and Jerry, ‘Let’s get the kids out of here – he is not worth the kids being traumatized. You’, he nodded to one of the extra bodyguards, ‘bring him along – he needs to learn that you don’t touch kids.’ Then he turned and carried his kids out to the trucks followed closely by Jared who had Chloe in his arms.

That left Bret and Jerry standing in the room looking at each other. From the moment that Jerry laid eyes on the little boy he knew this was his son. He had the same DeGeo black hair that curled when it started growing out, and the silver-blue eyes that they all had. He looked at Jerry with such innocence that Jerry’s heart just melted. This was he and Callie had created. Hell he probably even knew the night that Bret was conceived. He had loved Callie with every fiber of his being, but he knew that she was scared of the lifestyle that he was part of.

She had fought against dating him for months. Every time he pursued her she would duck and run away from him. Until that the night that her best friend had
been gunned down. After he heard that the girl had been trapped in the middle of a gun fight and died at the scene he went looking for Callie.

He spent hours looking for her everywhere before he found her in the lobby of his apartment – back when they all lived on the lower floors. He took her upstairs and comforted the best he knew how, he made love to her. From then on they were together, she moved in unofficially that night but moved her stuff in a couple of days later.

He was ready to propose to her after she had lived with him the first year but three months after they celebrated their year anniversary she disappeared leaving only a note. ‘I thought that I could do this, I was wrong. I’m so sorry! Love Cal’

He reread that note so many times that if he closed his eyes he could see the paper as clear as if he was holding it.

Jason of course put an order out to report in if anyone saw her but she apparently had learned a great deal in her year with Jerry because she left no trail. Not even her parents knew where she had gone to. When her dad died a few years later Jerry went to the funeral and reception also hopping that he’d run into her but he never saw her.

Everyone thought that she had just skipped it but he knew her better then that – she was there but hiding from him, which ripped his heart out for some reason she found him to be too dangerous. He cleared his throat, he knew that Jason and Jared would allow him as much time as he needed to have to deal with his son. ‘Hi, Bret how are you?’

‘Fine. How do you know my name?’

‘Well I know your mom.’

‘You look like my dad.’ Bret told him.

‘Oh?’

‘Yeah mommy has a picture of her and him together and she showed it to me. It was on her dresser in her bedroom. But every time grandma sees it she tells mommy that she had no right to keep me a secret. I don’t know where it’s now cause she put it away.’

‘Is that all you know about your dad?’ Jerry asked suddenly curious how open Callie was with him.

‘Nope, mommy also told me that his name was ‘Jerry Nathaniel DeGeo’.’ His little brows scrunched up a bit as he thought. ‘My middle name is Nathaniel -like his, but my last name isn’t DeGeo.’

‘Why did she tell you his name?’

‘Because in case something happened… Scott, always boxes with her and then she gets all bloody and cries. That’s when she reminds me of who my daddy is and where I can find him.’ Bret said in a hushed voice.

‘Where can you find him Bret?’ Jerry asked softly.

Fear entered the little boy’s eyes and he asked frantically, ‘Did something happen to mommy?’

‘No, no, no she is fine. I was just curious what she told you.’

‘Oh well she said to come to the city and look on Huntington Avenue for the glass building with a covered driveway. Then go in the front door walk up to the desk, don’t be scared of the men there, they are big and scary but they’d never hurt me, and tell them ‘My daddy is Jerry Nathaniel DeGeo and I need his help.’ Then they would get him for me and everything would be okay.’

‘Well that’s interesting. Why haven’t you done that yet?’

‘Because nothing happened yet. Who are you?’ the child asked in an inquisitive tone.

‘Jerry Nathaniel DeGeo. I’m your dad.’ He said.

Bret looked up at him with a wide mouth expression. ‘Really?’

‘Yeah and I’m going to take you back to my place where I’m sure that your mother will be. As soon as I’m done helping Jared who’s Chloe’s dad then I’ll take care of Scott. Okay? I’ll make sure that you don’t have to worry about anything happening to mom again.’

Bret ran at him throwing his little arms around Jerry’s neck and burying his little face in his neck. Jerry wrapped his arms around the little boy – his little boy – and carried him out of the room and on down to the truck.

When they got to the apartment buildings they all headed inside. One of the guards posted at the desk piped up ‘The ladies are in the top penthouse sir.’

‘Thank you.’ Replied Jason.

Chloe true to her nature continued to chatter about everything occasionally catching Jared off balance. ‘Can you lift me up so I can swing from the lights?’

‘Sure sweetheart let me…wait, what?’

‘Swing from the lights daddy.’

‘Hell no!’

‘You said a bad word!’

‘Sorry Chloe I’m just not thinking like I should’ve. I should’ve said ‘Heck no!’ but it didn’t seem strong enough. Let’s just get you back to mom, okay?’

‘Aren’t you going to stay?’

‘No, me and Uncle Jason have to go take care of some business.’

Just then the doors slid open and there was Maxie. ‘Where is everyone?’ asked Jason.

‘Laysea is trying to get Olivia to take a sedative in the bedroom or have the doctor give her a shot. Olivia keeps telling her no, that she doesn’t want one. She says she has to be alert when Chloe gets here.’

‘Where is Callie?’ Jared asked.

‘Bathroom. She’s kind of given us a brief rundown of what happened over the years. I know that you don’t want my advice…’

‘Then don’t give it.’ Jason told her.

‘…but since I was there I’ll throw in my two cents. Listen to what she has to say. You really have no idea what it feels like for us to sit on the sidelines and have to deal with the aftermath of your guy’s lives and business. I’m not making excuses for what she did or how she went about it I’m just saying really listen to what she says before you make a judgment call. Also Jason, Jared – I love you both very much but Jerry don’t listen to them, listen to this.’ She told him pointing to his heart. Then she smiled at Bret and ran her hand over his hair. Then she got on the elevator and pushed a button the doors slid silently closed. All three men left standing there in their own thoughts.

The three decided to go find their child’s respective mothers. First the children were taken to the nursery where the nanny was waiting on them. Jason had to act first or Olivia would be unconscious – thanks to his very overprotective, pregnant wife. When he got to the master bedroom he heard Laysea tell someone, ‘just stab her in the ass with the needle! She needs to relax or she is going to be sick!’

God he hoped she was talking to the doctor. Then he heard Olivia sobbing her heart out, she really did sound like she was close to hyperventilating and probable would need something to calm her down.

But her voice was as strong as ever, ‘Laysea if he stabs me with that I’ll make sure you get just as much as me!’ Jason chuckled then walked to the door. ‘Laysea sweet why don’t you come out here and let Olivia be for a while.’

‘Are my children back?’

‘Yes, dear.’ He answered.

‘Oh, thank god!’ With that she ran out of the room and almost tackled Jason but he moved and pointed her down the other hall towards the nursery.

Jason turned back and saw that Olivia had come to the door. ‘Chloe?’

‘She is in there also.’ He told her.

‘Jared?’ she asked her voice cracking into a sob at the end.

‘He’s in there with her.’

Once again Jason was almost tackled and this time it was to get to someone who looks exactly like himself! He followed at a slower pace but not too late to hear his darling little wife giving his brother hell for what he put Olivia through. Jason wondered if she remembered that not a couple minutes ago Laysea had wanted to medicate Olivia by needle to knock her out.

Olivia burst through the door, stopped until she spotted Chloe then picked her up in her arms and hugged and kissed her. After she had assured herself that Chloe was okay she looked up at Jared, into the eyes that held so much emotion in them. She put Chloe down on and walked over to Jared allowing him to pull her close to him, he kissed the top of her head and held her close as long as she wanted to be near him. When she had enough she pulled back from him. SLAP! She planted her hand print into his
left cheek.

SecondChances Chapter 23 La Vie en Rose

It was already dusk when I got into my car. The radio was still on. Chumbawamba's "Tubthumping" was playing. "How appropriate" I thought to myself. The Radio gods must be telling me something. I pulled out of the driving singing, "I get knocked down, but I get up again. You are never gonna keep me down..." As I drove, I rehearsed what I'm going to say to Chase. I'm going to tell him the truth. Well - a variation of the truth. I won't mention time travel or future events. I certainly...

The DilemmaChapter 3 Bonnie Chancelor

So they want me to write down why I was so angry with Mum. Well what I said at Friday breakfast was part of it but there’s more. This is all my own writing. Jen helped me in a few places but mostly she said it was better if it was my own writing. I know I’m not as good at writing as some people but I try really hard and I think I’m getting better. Jen said I still have some things to learn about grammar so maybe I’ll ask Miss Little to teach me more grammar. I feel sorry for the boys who...

The DilemmaEpilogue Gareth Chancelor

I was sitting back in my easy chair in front of the TV. There was a nature program running which was mostly interesting until the need to rest my eyes became more important. So, I was sitting back in my easy chair resting my eyes when... “Hey Dad,” said a voice and a weight lowered into my lap. I blinked my eyes a couple of times to adjust to the light in the room and grinned at my younger daughter. “Hey Bon, sweetheart. What’s up?” I asked. “Nothing major,” she said and wrapped her...

Secondhand

Thanks P. for help with editing the story. SECONDHAND Another uneventful gray day of my life was coming to an end, and I had just closed the door and turned off the light at the back of the shop when there was a frantic knocking. A tall, white-haired woman in a long fashionable coat was standing outside, with two large black bin bags. I went up to the door and said, "We're closed! Sorry!" "What shall I do with these clothes, then?" the woman asked me, exaggerating her lip...

Second Chances By: Malissa Madison Denise wasn't sure who the strange man sitting down the street from the house was, or why he was watching her. But it made her nervous, was he some kind of molester or other kind of Pervert? It wasn't the first time she'd seen him either. She'd mentioned it to her older sister Patricia, who'd looked at the man curiously then said, "Don't worry Sis he's harmless," just before the bus arrived to pick them both up for school. Second Chances

I always hear the term "dirty old man" referring to a lot of older men that gawk at pretty young girls. Well, no one ever really mentions "dirty old woman" although there are a lot of us out there. I am one of them myself. Here is my dirty little tale. It was that one summer that changed everything. My husband had died earlier that year and I was left alone in our small country home. My daughter Caroline had just met a wonderful young man whom she would be marrying. Caroline had a very...

Second Chance

Second Chance By Julie O. Edited by Robert Arnold Chapter 1 (Sometime in 2008) In many ways it started off as very typical day. I arrived home from a long day at work, and after greeting Max the cat at the front door of my condo, I sorted through the day's mail. For the most part it was the usual collection of bills, magazines, and junk mail. However,...

Second Chance, By Armond "I come bearing gifts," she said, holding up a white sack. "We had a bunch left over, and I hated to see them go to waste." "Chocolate chip scones? Gina Strega, you are sinful," Marita said, peering in the bag. She grabbed the one with the most chips and bit in; crumbs tumbled down her white blouse. "You don't have to stuff us with yummy bribes, dear, we ARE changing you back." "I wasn't trying to bribe anyone," Gina said, "I thought you might...

SECOND CHANCES

One of my classes is critical to all students graduating high school. They must get a passing grade or else they cannot move on to whatever awaits them beyond the hallowed halls of the only high school in this county. It is English after all, our native language. I moved here from the city because I wanted peace and quiet. I had thought that maybe my experiences would be different. But I see the same amount if not more students just squeak by or drop out. Then they go on to local farms thinking...

With words flowing mysteriously from her pen, Vera was finding them both innate and yet foreign, like a thing already known and yet at the same time strangely revelational. Neither the bonds of a pastoral father nor her own youthful ideals were shielding her from the assault -not this time. She knew that it had been a vainful refusal to admit to the a****l’s existence. Like most high school sweethearts, Gail and I had dreams and plans. We would go to the same college, settle down, get married, and have kids. Things just didn't work out that way. For a start, we were approved for different colleges. Of course, we pledged to stay together and continue our relationship and we did that for several months. But, little by little, the calls and texts dwindled to a few — then none. Despite wanting it to work, our deepest fears were realised and our relationship fell...

Comic sites such as Venus Envy, Xanny?s Curse, The Wotch, Lean On Me, From Here to Forth and EL GOONISH SHIVE. ---- Spring time had come once again. It was the time of year that depressed Jeff more than any other.        It had been three years.  Three looooooong years as far as her libido was concerned.  She’d stayed far away from all of it; buried herself in her awful temp job that had since become a permanent secretary position, not that it’s permanence made it any better, just more predictable.  She’d aided her ailing mother until she’d died six months before and her sister was so far AWOL she hadn’t even shown to the funeral.  She was alone and emotionally destitute when not so long ago her life...

Instant gratification. That’s what most people want these days. Thanks to instant communication with email, instant shopping online, instant pornography too, we all want exactly what we want, exactly when we want it. That’s what made things so frustrating. The worst thing about the end of the world was the mind numbing boredom. Sandy made one final connection to her generator. Wiping the grease from her hands, she stood and surveyed her work. "That should do it," she said with a grin. "Now this is going to be good!" The pretty young woman made her way down to the street, and started to take off her clothes. "I better get ready. The sun's going down soon!" Sandy hurried to her camp shower, and washed the day's work from her body. Her...

Rick stood by his bedroom window gazing outside, a pained look on his face. The sunny suburban scene outside was picturesque but he could care less. All he could feel was the slight thump of his head. He hated Mondays, and the reality of a weekend ended. Last night was still a blur and not at all surprising as he had had one beer too many. It was the first time he had lost control of his drinking and did not appreciate the consequences. He smacked his mouth in disgust as it tasted like he had...

Second Chance By Paul G. Jutras "A rose for a rose." Steve said as Rose stepped off the elevator at the newspaper office they both worked for. A series of snickering and cat calls came from the computer terminals near by. Rose just smiled and gave Steve a kiss on the side of the face before going to sit cross legged at her own desk "Seem like just yesterday still I asked you to marry me." It was mid - January, the air below minus two, when I entered the park around ten to midnight after doing a busy nine hour shift at the convenience store. I pulled up the hood of my green puffa jacket over my head and walked deeper into the fog that miraculously appeared out of nowhere. I saw the outline of the lake in front of me so I thought and walked on. I suddenly felt afraid as the fog thickened around me, wrapping around me like a duvet. I turned around frantically searching for a...

I rolled out of bed fairly early, even though there was no real reason to.  I wouldn’t be starting college until the fall, so I could have slept in if I wanted to.  The view out the window when I opened it was still strange to me.  Born and raised in Iowa, the sight of the ocean off in the distance on a summer morning in Florida was a far cry from what I was used to.Mom had told me the story several times about her and my Dad – whom I’m named for – scheming a move to Florida as their ultimate...

Small things make all of the difference in the world to a person's mental state. Take for example the sound of eight very precise pistons moving back and forth in their own respective cylinders. The output of that movement, funneled through a specially tuned exhaust system creates a mechanical symphony of sorts. That sound might be considered to be a loud and un-necessary noise, by a person who wants to relax and have quiet or simply isn't atuned to it. But it can also be viewed as being very...

Aunts Chance

CD was staying with his aunt after being discharged from the Army. Honorably. He didn't have a lot of money so staying with her made perfect sense. At least until he could get some money together. The Corona Virus had changed his original plans and he spent the last two years working with vaccination deployment. It had been two tours, eight years since he had seen his home town. Of course, home town was kind of a misnomer. He called it home because he spent most of his teen years here. His...

Chances

We’ve never met. At least not in person. She is just a screen name to me and an avatar, and I suppose that is all I am to her. A few exchanged messages online. That’s what we share. And perhaps she knows more about me than I do about her, since she’s read some of my stories posted online. She knows a bit of what I look like, at least from the waist down, and she knows my age and where I live. Her? I know where she lives and how old she is, but I have no idea what she looks like. I don’t even...

Second chance

It was 6 months later I was staying in yet another hotel. Still working away. I got back to my room after another hard day. But it was Friday and I had a day off tomorrow. So I had a quick shower. I started thinking about the chance meeting I had 6 months earlier with Davy and my cock started to grow. No I thought I am not going to have a wank...... Just in case. I have not had any other sort of sex with another man since. After the shower I dried off and got out my tights and panties. Which I...

Second Chances

I hate my life. I should have stopped about an hour ago and gone home. I am stalling. I don’t want to go home. I finished grading all my papers and I am just sitting admiring myself in my mirror. Today was Thursday, the last day of school for me. We were taking this weekend off. My husband and I are going on a mini vacation. A swinger resort. He finally convinced me. I wanted him to go on his own but singles cost way more. Plus, I would get to see the type of women he is actually into. Today...

Not Very Nice People Chapter 1011 One Last Chance

NOT VERY NICE PEOPLE by Crazy Baron Chapter 10: One Last Chance Synopsis: A kingdom for an antidote--that is the watchword for Mike and Jake as they head out to obtain a mysterious potion that promises to restore them to their original forms. They are perfectly willing to take great risks and go to extremes to be transformed back, but there are factors with which they have failed to reckon. ***** I woke up with a violent start. For a couple of seconds, I was once...

What Were the Chances

July 1st 2013 I had just started a long shift behind the bar and I wasn’t in the mood for being friendly to customers. I’d had a row with my boyfriend, Chris, before I’d left the house. I can’t even remember what the row had been about; it was that meagre and irrelevant. The cause of the arguments never stayed put in my mind because the rough make up sex would always wipe my memory of the reasons why. Thankfully, the bar had been quiet that night, so my cheeks only slightly ached from the...

Tim The Teenage MCPart XII 3 Hopes Last Chance

A light flickered on, then a moment later, it flickered back off. Darkness isn't so bad as long as you can't see the shadows. Or at least that was what I thought until I sensed things moving about me. "Hello?" I called out, wondering where the hell I was. "Timmy?!?" Suzi's voice called in the distant. "Tim, where are you?" "Suzi, over here!" I frantically called out. "Timmy... I can't find you... " her voice said, fading in the distance. "SUZI! COME BACK!" "She can't...

The Second Chance

A Second Chance This story is a reboot of a storyline I had going on another site years ago, called "My Life. It was another story close to my heart, because most of the first part of it is autobiographical. The second part is how I wish it had gone. I am going to do it in one part, instead of multiple chapters last time, which I never finished. My name is Tanya. It wasn't always, and it almost never was, but sometimes life is funny. It can turn on the littlest moments. ...

Moms Second Chance

I rolled out of bed fairly early, even though there was no real reason to. I wouldn't be starting college until the fall, so I could have slept in if I wanted to. The view out the window when I opened it was still strange to me. Born and raised in Iowa, the sight of the ocean off in the distance on a summer morning in Florida was a far cry from what I was used to. Mom had told me the story several times about her and my Dad - whom I'm named for - scheming a move to Florida as their ultimate...

My Missed Out Chances

Hi, Glad to meet you all again thru ISS. I have been reading stories in this site for 5+ years and I have written my experiences as well here. Today, I’m not going to write anything sexy but the missed out chances. If I had capitalized those chances, it could have led me to have sex with those girls/ladies. About me, I’m from South Tamilnadu and right now in Chennai. Year 1991: I don’t know when exactly I started getting addicted to sex. But I could still remember it started at the age of 6 or...

Second Chance

Episode 1 "You have a lot of kids, don't you?" The question came out of the blue and out of the darkness. I was working late on a Tuesday evening in November. I thought the place was deserted; the car park was empty apart from my car. The cleaners and the watchmen on their rounds wouldn't be here for hours yet. So I leapt a foot from my chair. Well, it felt like a foot. "Huh?" or "What?" or something similarly intelligent may have escaped my lips. "Sorry, I didn't mean to startle...

I am Rumi, six ft tall, average complexion and physical structure. I am changing the name and essence of the story for obvious reason. I was 20 yrs old that time. There was a middle aged watchman(Darwan)for the house, who used to live at their house, with his wife. Komola was his 2nd wife, as his first wife died. She was pretty...

A chance

A chance by kittynor Note: Coming back to writing after a long time. The writing might seem rusty. Please leave your feedback as it would help me better myself. Thank you. See ya later," Cynthia said and helped herself out. Mark...

Alices Second Childhood Alices Second Chance

Alice’s Second Chance, Alice’s second childhood.   PART 1   Mom was a good woman. Dad is a good man. Yet my little sister, Alice was, by age 18, a total spoiled brat and a delinquent. She could easily also have ended up being a killer. It is certainly arguable that she deserved to be sent to jail.   Now Mom did not believe in hitting children and she did not. She did, however, understand that the word ‘NO’ needs to be...

Second Chances

It was mid – January, the air below minus two, when I entered the park around ten to midnight after doing a busy nine hour shift at the convenience store.

Second Chances

This is the most seriously autobiographical telling of my first marriage. There are fictional aspects to it, but this one is close to the mark. This is my first foray into cheating stories; there may be a couple more. Not a stroke story by any means. I can recall the moment I found out my marriage was a lie. It was a little thing, an overheard comment; yet it crystallized everything in an instant, so many little facts spread out over fifteen years of courtship and marriage. It was all so...

Tokens A Second Chance

Tokens: A Second Chance By Bashful What can you say about James and Lonny? They were best friends, they were nice guys but they were?losers. It wasn't their fault and maybe 'losers' is a harsh word. They were less than attractive, not ugly, just not good looking. Geeky was a word commonly associated with the pair. Had things gone differently, with a few more years to mature, maybe they would have been acceptable looking guys. But fate has a way of stepping in at times and...

Last Chance

Last Chance By Karen Elizabeth L. It's just too bizarre," I told my wife Heather. "We don't need anything that drastic, we can work out our problems ourselves." "How," She asked. "What's going to be different? What will we do this time that we haven't done the last ten times?" "I don't know that yet," I responded glumly. "But I'm sure that we can think of something, anything but this." "Do you think that little of our marriage, our family?" Heather shot back. "We've tried it...

Dancing On Daddys Shoes Chapter 13 First Dance Last Chance

Chapter 13 First Dance - Last Chance Friday after school, Kim returned home and charged up the stairs to her room without so much as a hello for her father who was waiting in the foyer to greet her. The better part of caution told him to just leave it alone. He returned to the living room. She would tell him what was wrong when she was ready. Tom had a good idea what the trouble was without having to be told, however. There had not been much he had been...

The Fourth Chance

His head was spinning. His head was spinning and his vision was blurry. He tried to muster a low groan before he realized his mouth was gagged with a piece of cloth tied around his head with a string, and that's when he knew it was time to panic. Immediately, he regained total consciousness. His vision was back, his headache receded and he could finally see what's around and where he was. Though, that didn't exactly answer the questions he already had, but rather add more to confuse...

Young Barista Surprising Second Chance

Kaitlyn was always on my mind, wanting to see her, almost needing to see her, I continued to visit the Starbucks where she worked. There still seemed to be some tension and even though I tried to flirt with her, our interactions were strictly business. I really liked seeing her and maybe it was just me, but I sensed she was hiding her feelings. One day however, when I happened to visit, hoping to see her like always, Kaitlyn wasn’t there. I didn’t think anything at first, figuring it was...
