Lois Lane checked out her appearance in the mirror. She smiled at what she
saw. Love had added a bloom to her beauty. Her long dark hair shown, no,
sparkled. and her smile was the smile of a woman confident in her beauty and
her man. She was looking her best in the new outfit, Lois decided
objectively, a jumper suit of shimmering blue gray terminating in her new
boots. She looked elegant and sexy.
The phone rang. The voice was that of Perry White.
"Lois, big story could be worth a Pulitzer."
Her heart raced. "Go ahead, Perry!"
She was go to a cavern just outside the city to meet with an informant that the
federal government is using them as an illegal storage area for Nuclear Waste.
She couldn't help smiling, thinking of her wedding to Clark in three days.
Lois only hoped that being superman wouldn't keep him away from her too
much. Oh, well it went with the territory. The caves had a strange beauty like
a lost world. Lois glanced at her watch, vexed. Where was the man? An all to
familiar voice echoed in the cave.
"Miss me, Lois?" said Lex Luther sardonically
Lois stifled a scream at the sight of her enemy and superman's smiling
sardonically at her. She whirled to run but the cave's opening disappeared
behind a slamming door.
"Lead lined I afraid, my dear - as is the cave - which by a happy
circumstances is a lead mine - so I'm afraid superman will not be able to find
you!" He produced a remington 9 MM psitol ."This way Lois, if you don't
mind. They walked passed a lab. "My clones, a failure - they have everything
but life and a mind. You win some lose some" his laughter was chilling. In
the next room Lois walked in on Luther's former lovely assistant, a gorgeous
young black woman who was screaming in agony and lashed to a chair in a
small room. "Room for one more" said Luther with a cruel humor. He led
Lois to the other chair with terrifying politeness.
As she lashed her in the chair she asked loudly over the woman's screams"
What have you done to her you inhuman monster?"
"My treacherous assistant - she's enjoying the fruits of my justice -as you
will soon be. I do not forgive and forget Lois. That at least is not one of my
faults. "
"I never imagined it was" she said dryly. Clark, where are you? She thought.
"Thank you." He held up a hypo with a pail yellow liquid sloshing around
inside. To satisfy your curiosity inside is a deadly poison and quite without
an antidote. It does not kill quickly as you can observe from the traitor's
screams. No, it is a slow agonizing death - you will live three days in the
most delightful torment - delightful to me - not to you." He laughed coolly.
Lois felt her blood chill. Luther did not make idle threats.
"Superman -"
"Oh, I will be caught eventually - but I will still be alive an in prison - a
country club prison I might add because of my vast wealth and soon will be
set free as soon as a politician needs enough cash. But you will be dead.
Superman will grieve and I - well I will rejoice in my revenge. Odd our
initials are the same L.L. it would have save me money on monograms if you
would have kept your vows and promises and married me. "
"Luther, don't!" Lois screamed. "There has to be good in you somewhere!"
"Of course there is! Like all men I can be both kind and cruel. Today - well it
is a day for cruelty. Now, this will hurt you more than it hurts me." He
jabbed her with a needle and liquid fire was in her veins.
Lois had not planned on giving him the satisfaction of her screams. But there
was not stopping them.
"Painful, isn't it? Well let it be a comfort to know that it will only last for
three days!"
Three days, thought Lois in despair, I wont last three hours. The agony was
truly unimaginable.
"Now for the ladies' entertainment from Lex Luther productions" - a guard
brought in the Indian Mystic that Luther had hired once to help him explore
his inner self. A little brown man of 60 or so. The man looked terrified.
Luther ignored the women's screams and went over to the struggling man.
"Your decency disturbed me as did your betrayal."
"How did he betray you?" asked Lois between screams. A counterpoint to
her agony was the sight of herself in the mirror on the wall facing her. She
could se herself screaming and twisting in ultimate pain.
Luther shrugged " It hardly matters. His offensive was not as offensive as
yours " he laughed at his wit." So for him a quicker death." Luther's
powerful hands closed around the little man's thin neck. Soon the man
gasped his last and Luther dropped him to the floor. "Well that's that. The
little weasel didn't even have the decently to struggle. Oh, well I should be
used to disappointments in this life. Like my hair. "He flung his wig to the
ground. "You did this me! You two shall die alone, I think. Yes, dying alone
like the bitches you are is fitting." He had the screaming beautiful black
woman dragged from the room. For the life of her Lois could not remember
the woman's name. " I go to my dinner. No, don't get up Lois" He laughed.
" I will come back form time to time to hear your refreshing death screams."
He bowed with irony.
Lois was left alone with her screams and a death man. Suddenly the Mystic
stirred an got up and touched his neck tenderly.
"But you're dead!" She gasped stupidly.
"I wanted Luther to think so as well. I am an adept of the ninth circle, Miss
Lane. I can stop and start my breathing."
Hope dawned in her lovely face. "Can you save me?"
"Yes, if you are a person of courage."
"Try me! Oh, god it hurts so much!" she screamed.
"That at least I can help." He touched her temples and the pains grew
bearable, but they were still there." This will last for a time - hopefully long
enough. We must hurry, Luther may return at any time." He untied her and
helped her leave the room.
"Can you cure me - stop the poison?"
"Alas, no - but I can offer you life." They stopped before one of the clones, a
very beautiful erotic looking woman with vivid red hair. "This body has
everything but a mind and soul to live - your mind and soul. If you wish to

He grinned. "Excellent! I will help." He put his soft hands on her temples
once again and she could feel a mystical energy from them. "Focus on the
pillar and the flesh within! Focus. Focus. Project yourself into the pillar! Go!
Leave! Journey!"
The third time was a charm. Lois felt herself drifting way from her pain
wracked body into the pillar and then oblivion.
When Lois came to herself she thought with wild hope that it worked. She
was free of pain. She felt strong and healthy. But she found herself tied.
What had gone wrong? She heard the click of a woman's heels approaching
and struggling opened her eyes in the direction of the sound. She gasped.
The woman wore a new jump suit and high boots The woman was herself!
Herself smiling a happy smile of triumphant. A horse cry escaped Lois's lips

Luther stared starkly back at her from the glass. She heard her former voice.
"What wrong, Lois having a bad hair day?" It was her own musical laughter,
light hearted and happy that smote her ears.
"I'm afraid I deceived you as the poison was only a pain inducer and I was in
the pillar under the hologram of the girl. So with the help of my mystical
friend our souls swapped bodies. It can only be done between members of
the opposite sex - something about Yin and Yang." Luther shrugged Lois's
shapely shoulders an went to the mirror. Luther stared admiringly at the
lovely image that used to belong to Lois and smiled triumphantly and ran slim

elected the first female president of the US - Superman's endorsement had
carried the day along with enormous campaign chest. Her slogan - 'Honesty
and Decency Will Win!' Her and her husband Clark's two beautiful children
were in her arms. 'Luther' went insane for a moment and started breaking up
chairs and everything in sight. He spent the next month in solitary brooding.
Someday he would be revenged someday! Some way superman would be
sorry for not knowing that he married and loved a false Lois. Someday I will

Meanwhile the most successful presidency in history was going on.
Clark smiled at his beautiful wife and she smiled back. He had always known

stared out at them. His bald head gleamed.
"This man is extremely dangerous! Report any sight of him of to your local
police or FBI office immediately. President Lane has personally ordered all
the recourses of the FBI into the hunt. She is quoted saying "its a grave
danger to us all and to the peace of our great country - indeed to the peace of
the world."
The person who had been an Indian Mystic and who now was a beautiful
woman walked gracefully into her Manor.
Strong hands seized her by the throat and she screamed with terror. She saw
that her maid was quite dead - her head almost twisted off.
Luther's smiling face was inches from her terror stricken one.
"Ah, the fair betrayer - we need to have to talk, don't we? "
