Ellen gives special thanks to Brandy, Chris, and pes.
We find the guest arriving before the moderator, a taste of what was to happen!
(Sir_Lee) Hi Ellen, did you get here early so as not to be late to your own
chat?
(ehayes) Something like that, but now I got an errand to run. *Sigh* You two
hang out, eh? Tell people I'll be back in a bit?
(Takana) 'Lo folks! You plan to be back by 4-ish right?
(ehayes) Depends on what time zone you're in! It's less than an hour, but I'd
better get going.
(Takana) I wish you hadn't said you had an errand to run, cause you reminded ME
I need to make a run!
(Melanie) Hello, um. I'm new at this. Never been in a chat before.
(Takana) It's okay Melanie, I've spent enough time around chat rooms to answer
any questions. :)
(Melanie) Well, I not even sure where to start.
(Sir_Lee) Well, just write what you think, Mel.
(Melanie) I recognize some names from message board listings and stories, but of
course no one knows me. Hi Sir_Lee! Oops, got to go. SO needs someone to carry
stuff.
(Takana) LOL! I'd be surprised if someone recognized me in here, I usually hang
out in different rooms! I got errands to run, time to see if a Dodge Neon can
break the sound barrier! *Grin*
(Nostrumo) Hi Ellen! Err, anybody here?
(Sir_Lee) Well, I'm here, although I'm on my Newsgroup program on another
window. Ellen had to leave for a bit.
(Nostrumo) Hm, like going for the ladies Room?
(Sir_Lee) She didn't say, actually! She only said she had an errand to run and
would be back at the time scheduled for the chat.
+ *Wendy-J has arrived.
(Julie) Welcome Wendy!!!
(ehayes) And I'm back!
(Julie) Hi Ellen!
(*Wendy-J) Stuck in Colorado for last few weeks! No computer of my own and an
unwillingness to beg computer time from friend.
(ehayes) *Kiss*
(Julie) We have missed you sorely, Wendy!
(*Wendy-J) If I were in NJ, where I live, I would not be here! They are flooded
out!
(Julie) Where are you? I thought you were on your way back home.
(*Wendy-J) Colorado, I am stranded, stuck sleeping in a sleeping bag! There is
no phone service to my Fiancee and I can not get in touch!
(Julie) I'm sure he's okay, Wendy.
(*Wendy-J) Well not to worry, I have roof, food and friends that I have been
imposing on! Thank You L-Rochelle and Company!
(Julie) I am glad you are here. I was ready to step in if you were unable to
make it. I have missed you.
(Bashful) That's for sure, as long as you are okay though that's all that
matters!
(*Wendy-J) I have missed all my friends, I do apologize to all!
(Julie) We are just glad to be 'hearing' from you now!
(Tigger) *POUNCES Wendy with warm furry attack cuddle hugs!!!!*
(ehayes) *Carefully slathers Tigger repellent on, and sets up a decoy tonic
bottle several feet away*
(*Wendy-J) *Rolling around laughing with Tiggs*
(Julie) LOL! Ellen
(*Wendy-J) Yer worse than Hobbs, Tiggs!
(Julie) Hobbs and Tigger, who's the better tiger? Tigger, of course!
(Tigger) At least I won't shed on your cashmere, Ellen!
(ehayes) Tigger, since it's in the closet, I bet you won't! =) *Tosses Tigger a
catnip mouse*
(*Wendy-J) Have Fun Tiggs!!!
(ehayes) Wendy! I have a change in procedure for the chat, I want three
questions stacked at a time.
Editor's Note- Thanks a lot Ellen! This log started at 100KB!!!
(Sir_Lee) Since the "official" chat didn't start yet, let me get this out of the
way (it's totally irrelevant). Ellen, whyinhell don't you "slice" your Tuck side
story into smaller, more manageable blocks? My GetRight took oh, like six hours
last night downloading the last update!
(ehayes) Oh, Um. Mainly because my WP will not handle things above 500k or so.
It may be happening in the next couple of days, Tuck's getting too unwieldy as
it is.
(Sir_Lee) The trouble is, Geocities doesn't support resuming downloads and if it
starts crashing, well, you just curse them.
(ehayes) And curse them and curse them and curse them.... I've come to DESPISE
Geyahoo. I don't think I can stand them much longer. It's almost to the point
that I'm, *gasp*, going to spend money!
(Tigger) Ellen, have you looked at www.freespeech.org?
(ehayes) Tigger no, I have other plans in the works! *Evil grin*
(*Wendy-J) I hope all are well and enjoying the day!
(Julie) It is beautiful here in Texas!
(ehayes) Bleah. It's hot and I hate it.
(Andrew) Hi, Wendy. Nice to be here!
(*Wendy-J) Hi Andrew. Raining here chilly and fall is setting in!
(ehayes) *Contemplates moving to Antartica*
(*Wendy-J) LOL
(Andrew) Getting dark here, summer is ending!
(*Wendy-J) Yes it is! Fare well summer and hello winter!
(Renee) *Cheer*
(ehayes) Amen! For dark skies and rain, cold and wind, and multi-layers!
(Bashful) Cuddling close in front of the fireplace, though last year we lit it
only twice! When do anticipate heading for home Wendy?
(*Wendy-J) Hoping for clear weather next weekend. I am trying to sell a car and
move the computers east!
(Andrew) Wendy, are you the author of "Midnight Downloads"? If so when can we
see more of it!
(*Wendy-J) I have some more writing to do on it and I hope to have something in
a week or two.
(Andrew) Looking forward to seeing it!
(Julie) Cool! Can't wait!
(ehayes) Now, where have I heard THAT before! *Laughs*
(*Wendy-J) I really hate to impose and glom up computer time at a friends home!
- *Wendy-J just left.
(ehayes) Uh oh.
(Bashful) She'll be back!
(Julie) She'll be back, I'm sure!
(Sir_Lee) Oh, she will be back!
(Andrew) Our moderator just had problems!
(ehayes) Good morning, good morning, sit down, have a drink, get comfy...
(Julie) It's afternoon here, Ellen!
(MonicaS) I wonder if I should check if there is a new Tucker out, while I wait.
;-)
(Nostrumo) Err, it's the late evening and I better take my warm milk!
(ehayes) Julie, I woke up far too recently, to me it's morning!
+ Brandy has arrived.
(ehayes) Brandy! *Hugs*
(Tigger) Brandy! *Warm furry hugs!!!!*
(Nostrumo) Hi Brandy! *Deep bow*
(Brandy) Hi, all! *Blush* Gee, Nost, quite formal!
(Nostrumo) Yup, got my manners polished! *Evil grin*
(Bashful) Hi Brandy! Did you get my e-mail about STD and dumpsters?
(Brandy) Yes, I did. I didn't understand, of course, not being at ALL familiar
with that, um, situation.
(ehayes) Six minutes! *Erk*
(Jacki) You'll do fine!
(Andrew) We need Wendy-J!
(MonicaS) Ellen, are you nervous?
(ehayes) No, not really. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?
(MonicaS) Well, somebody could ask when your next Tucker gets out! ;-)
(ehayes) THE LATEST TUCKER (SEASONS) WAS ISSUED YESTERDAY MORNING, AND CORRECTED
THIS MORNING!
(Jacki) You're among friends!
(Andrew) We all love you! *Hugs*
(ehayes) I embarrass the hell out of myself, have to drop out of society, become
a serial killer and what's wrong with that?
(Brandy) Whoever gave you that idea?
(ehayes) Monica yesterday!
(MonicaS) Hmm, I check in every 2 days, but not yesterday!
(Nostrumo) Err, Ellen the link to 39 does not work!
(ehayes) *Coughs* THERE is no 39 yet!
(Sir_Lee) Oh, no! Corrected already? I hope Y!G decides to work this time...
(ehayes) Something went wrong and ate a screenful of the text, I dunno what. It
works now!
(MonicaS) Who or what is Y!G?
(Renee) Yahoo!Geocities.
(ehayes) *Laughs* I just call it Geyahoo!
(Tigger) Ever notice that Ge-Hoo sounds like a sinus attack, maybe that is why
its YaGeo!
(Michelle) Sorta like Dallas and Ft Worth joining into Worthlas instead of
DalWorth.
(Brandy) We're mad passionate lovers, not just friends. *Don't I wish!*
(ehayes) *Sticks a finger in her mouth, catches Brandy's eye, pulls the finger
out and sticks it in her blouse*
(Nostrumo) Err, could someone open the windows? Brandy steams them up! :)
(Brandy) Heavy breathing, my specialty!
(CarrieGore) Ellen, Ellen! Whoops! :)
(ehayes) *Looks under her*
(Nostrumo) Oh my! The youngsters party! I feel old and slow. *Sits down and
shakes head*
(Sir_Lee) OK, two minutes! Is there a moderator in the house?
(ehayes) Moderator?
(Brandy) So, Ellen, when's the NEXT Tuck due out? *Ducks*
(ehayes) *Slaps the shit out of Brandy*
(Nostrumo) Yew, that's brown.
(Brandy) Ha! I have PLENTY to spare.
(CarrieGore) Tut tut tut!
(Renee) ROTFLMAO
(ehayes) Is anyone going to claim to be under eighteen today?
(Jacki) Only in our dreams!
(Nostrumo) Wellm und eighteen hundert!
(ehayes) 'Cause if you are, you gotta leave!
(Troy) Mentally or physically?
(ehayes) Troy: will-I-get-busted-for-talking eighteen!
(Andrew) A long time ago in a galaxy far far away ...
(Renee) The lord said "Let there be Lips!" *LIPS* *LIPS* *LIPS* *Giggle*
(MonicaS) Brandy, when is the next "Lady of the Ring" due?
(Brandy) Would you believe I have 5 chapters for Ellen to look at now?
(ehayes) *Pretends she didn't hear Brandy*
(Renee) *Cheer Brandy*
(ehayes) *Begins to blush*
(Nostrumo) Nice colour
(Brandy) Unfortunately, or actually, fortunately, the next bit takes Ellen's
special touch.
(ehayes) *Touches Brandy*
ehayes) I see it's time, and no moderator... let's go!
(Bashful) Hang on we have a replacement coming. Today's moderator will be played
by Julie until Wendy gets her problem solved!
- Julie just left.
+ *Julie has arrived.
(Tigger) *Dusts off the moderator's throne, adds a little super-glue and escorts
her to her seat*
(*Julie) Welcome one and all. It is my pleasure, nay my privilege to introduce
today's guest. Best known as the creator of the "Tuck" saga'! I give you Ellen
Hayes.
(Nostrumo) Hear, hear!
(Andrew) Welcome!
(Bashful) Ellen, is a another chapter of Tuck coming out soon?
(ehayes) *Snores*
(Michelle) Wake her somebody!
(Nostrumo) *Gets a needle and stabs Ellen*
(ehayes) *Aheeee*
(Brandy) Gee, that's not what she says when *I* jab her.
(Nostrumo) *Grins*
(Michelle) Nor I, she usually *Smacks*!
(*Julie) Do you have an opening statement, Ellen?
(ehayes) Opening statement, only this. I'm a little tired of seeing crap
stories. We all know that there are those folk out there who can write decent
stories, encourage them! Drown out the bad stuff!
That's it. Nice and short, like speech class taught me. =)
(Jacki) You're not getting away that easy!
(ehayes) Jacki, that was the 'opening statement', duh!
(Andrew) What makes bad stuff?
(ehayes) NUMBER ONE! Bad grammar and spelling!
+ *Wendy-J has arrived.
Editor's Note- The moderator baton was passed!
(*Wendy-J) If you have a question for Ellen please whisper to me. If you can not
whisper please send me ??? After Ellen types NQ, Brandy is first!
(Brandy) Of all the things you've published, what segment would you most like to
have to do over and why?
(ehayes) They could all use a rework, as someone mentioned on the hyperboard.
Probably Tuck #2, and take out that little segment with Mike and George. Other
than that, just minor bits, where I couldn't find the right phrase at the time,
correcting typos, etc. =)
(Melanie) How did you get the idea for skipping though time to tell the Tuck
story?
(ehayes) I kept getting bogged down in my previous efforts, when I didn't want
to write through a particular part. So, I developed a style that allowed me to
skip the parts I couldn't or didn't want to write.
(Tigger) You mentioned scenes you couldn't write, can you give an example?
(ehayes) Um, everywhere there's a break. =)
I'm trying to think of a real example, and nothing's coming to mind. =)
(Sir_Lee) How much of Tuck is based on real people you know?
(ehayes) I've seen all of the characters, but I did NOT want to put enough of a
person into the story to match anyone I know. So, it's all based on people I do
know, but it's very Frankenstein.
(Takana) Ellen, when was the last time a character in your story stood and said
to Ms. Hayes "I'm not doing that!" or "That's not me!"??
(ehayes) It's more like, I'm innocently typing away and they just do something
without me having thought of it first.
I rarely hear them complaining when I go back and re-read/edit/proof the story.
(Renee) Is writing an inspirational process for you or a sit down and force it
out thing?
(ehayes) Very inspirational, but since a large part of my mental life is Tucker,
he's running as a background process a lot, so I have inspiration all the time!
I just have to write it down!
(Miriel) I just downloaded the new version of the sidings story line and saw
"Chapter 39 will she write another chapter"? Please tell me it's not so! Are you
getting tired of writing Tuck?
(ehayes) Not really, but I have other ideas I'd like to pursue ALONG WITH
Tucker. That comment was more of a joke than serious! Yes, I will write more on
the main story line.
(Brandy) Other than Tuck, and if I can be so bold, Lady, which of your stories
do you like best? (No way I'm calling them minor stories.)
(ehayes) *Assumes stupid look* I like 'em all!
They all have things I like. "On The Beach" was one that I actually had
proofread, and that I have passed out to the widest number of people.
The shorts with Paul and Tom were, well, short! =)
Kelly's Diary was just funny. And so on....
(Brandy) We love them too, but which one do you think made the strongest point,
or felt the most satisfying.
(ehayes) Probably "On The Beach", if I had to pick one!
(Brandy) *Nods* Like it mattered what I think, but good choice!
By the way everyone, if you can, um, put up with Ellen for two years, you
sometimes get to see "unpublished" manuscripts. So there!
(ehayes) Yeah, nyah nyah nyah! You shoulda been nicer to me in school! *Sticks
her tongue out at everyone*
"Feed me Seymour!"
Come on, folks, you can talk faster than this! *Grin*
(Miriel) Do you have any say about the direction the fanfictions on your page
are going to go, and is the second story "Not Alone" still being worked on?
(ehayes) I dunno if "Not Alone" is still being worked on or not. As for
direction, no. If someone asks, I'll tell them, but if they just write it like
she did, I'll look at it and possibly put it up. No guarantees. While I like her
efforts, there are some things in that story that are NOT going to happen in the
'real' Tucker.
(WandaC) Do you think you would have liked to have lived Tuck's life?
(ehayes) In a heartbeat! For one thing, Debbie is kinkier than my SO! *Laughs*
(PAM-vol) How do you keep the Main Tuck story and Tucky Season separated in your
mind. I could understand if the stories were different, but being so close?
(ehayes) Um, years of special Ninja training? *Laughs* Just that Seasons is set
out of Tucker's area.
(tabby) Is Val going to get out "on the town" with Shar in the latest "Tucky
Season"?
(ehayes) I dunno, I hadn't planned it, but you never know! Val might decide she
wants some winin'-n-dinin' as a reward for her efforts.
(Takana) Call me dense, but when are we going to learn what Tuck came down with
in the main story line?
(ehayes) When I fucking well feel like revealing it to everyone! =)
There IS something specific I have in mind, though it's damn rare.
(Renee) So, any crossover stories other than the obvious Seasons in mind? Say
with LOTR or "Dance With Me"?
(ehayes) Not at this point.
(Sir_Lee) Did you do the "Season" story in a more conventional style not to
"clash" with the other "Seasons" by other authors?
(ehayes) No, I wanted to try my hand at writing in a more conventional style.
And I was a little tired of figuring out time stamps. =)
(Andrew) What about Helen? Is that going to be in the main story line?
(ehayes) Helen? Well, she's Debbie's mom, isn't she? =)
(Andrew) I meant Helen discovering Valerie is Tuck!
(ehayes) It's gonna happen eventually, and John's story will have some
influence.
(Brandy) What do you do to organize your stories? Notes? Outline? None?
(ehayes) Um, organize?
(Brandy) You're teasing me all the time with hints. You must have some plan.
(ehayes) They're all in my head, I swear. Except for the little clips I've
written out, that you've seen. And save them if you find them, I forget where I
put them! =)
(Brandy) I never lose *any* of the things you send to me.
(ehayes) Well, then, collect 'em all and send 'em back to me! I'll mail you a
dozen roses and a pair of my wife's panties. =)
(*Wendy-J) Ellen has decided she would like an open chat so I will open up the
floor. Remember this is her day so please let her answer all questions
completely! This is her day in the sun!!!
(ehayes) *Melts in the sunlight*
(Nostrumo) Ellen, why do your characters feel so modern? When I read stories
written by others, their female characters tend to be not so lifelike as yours!
Yours seem to reflect the US girl perfectly!
(ehayes) I like realism, and I study it in Real Life, and write about it.
(Tigger) Is there a story out there that you've wanted to write, a message you
wanted to get out, but for some reason, the story wasn't right or the message
came out wrong? If so, what was it? *Grin*
(ehayes) Two or three epics that I didn't finish, but other than that I don't
think so. But I'm not 'finished' yet! =)
(Takana) Is there any other story location you'd like to drop Tuck in besides
the Seasons location??
(ehayes) Not really, especially not in other story-universes. At least at this
point.
(Jacki) Are you finding it difficult to stall the physical transformation of
Tuck?
(ehayes) Stall? As in delay? Hell no! Transformations take time, and I did one
in real life. These six-weeks-bang-and-you're-done are crap.
(Jacki) I don't condone quick transformations, but once started on a story line
one sometimes gets anxious for it go to it's natural conclusion.
(ehayes) Yeah, and I want to be instantly rich too. Life isn't like that!
(Nostrumo) Hm, you look like a good observer. Any connections to the FBI or CIA
or what ever organization?
(ehayes) I cannot answer that last question! *Grin*
(Nostrumo) *Raises his brows*
(Andrew) MI5?
(Julie) There are already 39 installments to Tuck, do you foresee an end?
(Hopefully NOT in the near future!)
(ehayes) Yes, I do have an end in mind. Or one of two, a loooong time from now.
(MonicaS) Do you plan to bring the main line or Seasons, to an end eventually?
(ehayes) Seasons will end at the end of the summer.
(Nostrumo) Well what summer ?
(ehayes) Seasons takes place in one summer, three months. It's not half done yet
(And 800k! Oh my God!)
(Nostrumo) Well, a usual PC could handle 4GB!
(geekgoddess) I really enjoyed the relationship between Tuck and Mike, did you
mean for there to be an implied psychic link between them and if so do you plan
to expand on it in the future?
(ehayes) There is somewhat of a psychic link, but I don't want to take the story
off into the SF/fantasy realm. It's going to stay really low key.
(Andrew) Is Mike being recruited by the Pack in Seasons?
(ehayes) That is classified. You are not cleared for that information! =)
(Andrew) I think she must be MI6!
(Renee) I long for the day when there's more Tuck than Tom Clancy! *Grin*
(PJ) ((Now, wait just a sec, Renee! ):) ))
(PAM-vol) Has your *Real Life* work at a help desk changed the way Tuck reacts
in either story? You know, like in how you deal with people (idiots)?
(ehayes) No, I've always known there were idiots in the world. the only change
my work has wrought is that I have to be nice to them all day long. *Sigh*
(PAM-vol) Yes, I definitely know what you mean!
(Nostrumo) Ellen when is Mike on the level Tuck already is?
(ehayes) Mike will not do the same things Tuck is doing. He's not Tuck.
(Nostrumo) Well, but his girl friend might like it the same way as Debbie!
(Takana) Who do you read for inspiration?
(ehayes) Comics! Foxtrot, 9 Chickweed Lane, Peanuts...
There's a story on Michelle's Mid Day Break called "The Reluctant Girlfriend"
which really inspired me to do Tuck.
(Takana) Thanks for that! Now I have another web site I gotta surf! ;)
(ehayes) *Grin* Any time! =)
(Nostrumo) Is the choice of music that Tucker hears yours? BTW, thanks for NIM!
(ehayes) Tucker and I have similar tastes, but not the same.
(Nostrumo) And which are yours?
(ehayes) That would be telling! =)
(Nostrumo) That's why I ask! *Grin*
(Andrew) Amy has joined the 'inner circle', will she be sleeping over with Val
and the Pack ?
(ehayes) Possibly, though she's only in town for the summer. The trick will be,
keeping Amy away from Valerie, which his sister is going to demand he do.
(Nostrumo) We want to see Ellen and what makes her tick?
(ehayes) I bet you do! But I'm not going to tell you. =)
(Nostrumo) *Goes on the knees* Pretty Please?
(ehayes) *Laughs* If you want some of my musical tastes, check out the music
page in the links section.
(Nostrumo) Hm, music is not all. Readings, etc.?
(Brandy) What is Jane's going away present for Valerie going to be? And
Valerie's for Jane?
(ehayes) Um. Good question. I think Jane will be nice and fail to have Valerie
arrested for theft. =)
(Andrew) Will Susan formally meet Val?
(ehayes) Yeah, probably. Although it won't be formal! =)
Actually, she's already seen Tucker as Valerie! They ran into each other in a
changing room, remember?
(Andrew) Yeah, but they didn't seem to do much. Will Susan meet Val and pack, on
girl's night out for instance?
(ehayes) Andrew, that might happen. That's a good idea, actually! =)
That's where I get my ideas, folks!
(Takana) Now a question about YOU, Ellen! What was the biggest surprise you
found after your transition?
(ehayes) How many people DIDN'T CARE. That was the weird one.
(Nostrumo) Hm, is that good or bad that so many did not care?
(ehayes) Just strange.
(Takana) *Jaw drops* Well, that I can kinda understand! I'm a guy & I do have an
alter-ego on line who is F....
(ehayes) No, I mean DIDN'T CARE. As in, "Oh, that's it? Oh, okay."
(Takana) LOL! Well, you do live in California, home of the weird, right? :)
(Nostrumo) If she did, she might even live in the Bay area?
(ehayes) Nope!
- *Wendy-J just left.
(Julie) Wendy is having server problems so a new moderator will take over!
+ *Bash has arrived.
(*Bash) Wendy had computer problems and had to leave. I'll be here for the
remainder of the chat.
Editor's Note- Ellen burns up another moderator!
(ehayes) Not that we're using a moderator....
(PAM-vol) Has Tuck helped YOU in dealing with real life? I know he has me!
(ehayes) Some, but not much. It's helped to have an imaginary Debbie cuddling me
when I needed it, but that's been about it. Remember, I was full time for
several years before the first chapter came out.
(Sir_Lee) By the way, where does Tuck live? I can't recall right now.
(ehayes) It's not actually stated anywhere, and I didn't set out with a
particular location in mind. Which was a mistake.
(Nostrumo) But from the time zone mentioned, it has to be more westward?
(Renee) From certain described businesses I'd place Tuck somewhere in the
West/Midwest. I'm not sure if Those franchises are on the East Coast. *Wants to
travel more* *Sigh*
(Sir_Lee) That kind of mistake is easy to correct, just drop a name. The reverse
can't be done, if you said it was, say, Tucson, you can hardly move the story to
New York.
(Andrew) Are you in Australia?
(ehayes) I'm in front of the computer. That's all I'm willing to say right now.
=)
(*Bash) You go girl!
(Nostrumo) Which one? The one at home or the office?
(ehayes) That information is classified!
(Nostrumo) Well if I got the clearance?
(Andrew) Told you: MI6!
(Brandy) Classified: Highly interesting!
(PAM-vol) Another PERSONAL question, have you or are you ever gonna take the
final step?
(ehayes) When I get the money, yeah. No question about it. That's SRS for anyone
who doesn't know what she's talking about.
(geekgoddess) Do you think people put to much emphasis on you and Tuck being
alter-egos?
(ehayes) I don't know, people seem to understand that Tucker is a character, and
I write about him, there doesn't seem to be any problem with separating us.
(Andrew) Could you sell Tuck to a publisher for thousands to finance your SRS?
(ehayes) I COULD, but I don't think any publisher would buy it.
(Andrew) Have you tried?
(ehayes) No, I have not.
(Andrew) I think Tuck is *very* publishable!
(Sir_Lee) I'm not sure. The story is very good, but the 'time stamp' style can
throw off readers and publishers.
(ehayes) It's also way outta mainstream venues.
(Andrew) The teenager market?
(ehayes) Oh, sure, a teenager would actually buy a book about some kind of queer
pervert. NOT!
(Takana) *Snort* Tuck is better than a lot of stuff I've seen published! "Tucky
Season" is almost readily publishable, just need to add a bit to explain Jane
first! :)
(geekgoddess) You have a real feel for the angst of the teen years, have you
considered doing more in than venue, maybe without the TG slant to make it more
commercially acceptable?
(Nostrumo) A personal question. Did you have also heavy personal problems during
transition?
(ehayes) Personal problems? Some. I screwed up my college with it.
(Nostrumo) Very bad or just due to ignorance?
(ehayes) Not doing the work.
(Nostrumo) Why didn't you do the work?
(ehayes) For some reason, I found college much less interesting than leading a
double life at the time. =)
(Nostrumo) Do you regret this?
(ehayes) In some ways. It would be very nice to have twice as much money as I do
now.
(Nostrumo) I do not know your school system, but is it not possible to return
now?
(ehayes) Yes, I could go back, if I could afford the money, and time not
working. Which I cannot.
(Andrew) Night school?
(Nostrumo) How about doing it during the evening?
(ehayes) I work at night! =)
(Nostrumo) *Sigh* Then during the day?
(ehayes) Let my wife settle when I'm going to school, okay? *Smile*
(Nostrumo) *Grins*
(ehayes) *Looks at happy sleeping wife and teddy bear* Awwwwww.
(Nostrumo) *Grins at this cute picture*
(Brandy) Will Tuck have any more out-of-town adventures after he gets back to
Debbie?
(ehayes) Eventually, but those will be in the 'main story line'.
(Brandy) With time stamps? :)
(MonicaS) *Hee hee* Ellen *loves* time stamps! ;-)
(ehayes) Yes, dear, with time stamps. *Sigh*
(PAM-vol) You are doing fantastic with the time slicing between questions today!
Was it the radio work that helped this or is it just THE WAY YOU ARE?
(ehayes) Radio work? No, I was on IRC before most of you knew there was an
Internet. =)
I don't understand the radio work comment?
(PAM-vol) I thought you had worked at a radio station a few years back, that's
what I remember from your old home page.
(ehayes) *Grin* I didn't think anyone remembered that! No, that was completely
fictional, I'm afraid.
(PAM-vol) Yes! YOU'VE HAD A FOLLOWING FOR A LONG TIME!! You just maybe didn't
KNOW IT, but we all LOVE YOU AND CARE FOR YOU GREATLY!!
(Brandy) Are you headed anywhere new with your website?
(ehayes) Yes, but I can't tell anyone because I'm afraid to jinx it. I will be
heading off Geyahoo in a month or less, though.
(Takana) Ooo! I trust you'll be letting us Tuck addicts know where to go for our
fresh fixes of him?
(ehayes) Oh yeah! Definitely.
(Takana) That's nice to hear! I just have this vision of hitting her website,
seeing a 404 error then going into unresponsive catatonia. :)
(ehayes) More like a 403. *Forbidden* I have plans for the changeover. =)
(Brandy) Catatonia, is that in Spain? That's a long way for Ellen to move her
website.
(Takana) Aw crud! I have enough problems with spoken English, you mean I gotta
learn Spanish to visit Tuck in the future? :/
Nostrumo) Brandy, you mean Patagonia, which is in the far south of South
America.
(Brandy) I pay homage to your geography. Actually, since the web is so
graphical, I expected to need to learn sign language.
(Nostrumo) Brandy which dialect? English, Spanish, Japanese, German, Russian....
(MonicaS) Perhaps you need to get a guestbook up again, so you get more
feedback?
(ehayes) Geocities has fucked that up completely, Monica. I'm sick of feeding
their advertising stats!
(Nostrumo) Well so far Tigger had fed us! :)
(PAM-vol) If Mom Mindy were here, maybe we could sweet talk her into letting you
have the space you need?
(ehayes) I'd rather set up my own stuff, and get the experience myself. No
offense to Mindy meant at all.
(PJ) Ellen, with respect to getting published, I agree that it's a daunting
prospect. (I never had the courage to try!) What do you think we, as authors,
might be able to do to change that perception?
(ehayes) *Shrug* The only thing we can do is wait until one of us hits a
mainstream editor JUST RIGHT and we make it in the Big Leagues. Other than that,
writing to professional standards would be a help. =)
(PJ) Oh bother! Where's my Manual of Style, again?
(Andrew) You *do* write to professional standards. Others do too, The Professor
springs to mind!
(ehayes) But not enough of us!
(Renee) It is possible. Chalker and Heinlein, just to mention two big ones, got
TG books published. It can be done!
(ehayes) They got published FIRST. =)
(Renee) Details, details. ;-)
(Takana) Heinlein?? Chalker is renowned for TG stuff!
(Sir_Lee) I think John Varley's first book already had TG!
(Takana) Oh duh!! "I Will Fear No Evil"
(Renee) *Nods to Takana* Plus bits from "Number of the Beast" onwards. (Remember
Libby.)
(tabby) Jack Chalker doesn't seem to have any problem getting published.
(Nostrumo) Hm, Fritz Leiber wrote some stuff, too.
(Michelle) Look how the stories were constructed though, totally differently.
(*Bash) We are coming up on the one-hour mark. Everybody say something to avoid
being booted
Editor's Note- ONLY ONE HOUR! I think this proves Ellen is a Goddess, Aphrodite
to be exact!
(lrochelle) Hi all!
(CarrieGore) Please, chat room, don't boot me off!
(Andrew) Love your stories, Ellen. Keep writing
(rikki) Does anyone write tales of activities within a beauty salon?
(PAM-vol) rikki has a good point, what happened with Tuck becoming a stylist or
whatever?
(rikki) Thanks Pam, I was hoping somebody would respond!!!
(ehayes) That was a school elective for his junior year of high school, he is
currently (in both story lines) in between sophomore and junior years.
(Brandy) Ellen (since this is your chat), assuming a publisher approached you,
what do you think you would need to do to get a story ready?
(ehayes) Proofread it about fifty more times and re-format it to whatever they
wanted. (Double-spaced, etc.).
(Brandy) My vote, actually *finish* something. *Ducks*
(ehayes) Oh, shut up! =)
OKAY FOLKS! ELLEN NEEDS A SHORT BREAK! DON'T GO AWAY!
(PJ) *Glancing at clock* Whoops! PJ's got to go away. Somebody please ask Ellen
to keep up the *marvelous* work, will ya?
(Brandy) Anyone know any publishers' addresses? Let's start a letter campaign to
get Tuck published!
(Renee) Addresses are easy, convincing is not!
(Andrew) Pan Books ltd., Cavaye pl., London, sw10 9pg, UK
(Nostrumo) Well get some baseball bats!
(Brandy) Well, first we each get 912 different e-mail addresses, and then . . .
(lrochelle) Brandy? Have you tried to get published? "Milady's Wiles" is worthy!
(Brandy) Thanks. I sent in another story, but not that one.
(Michelle) So try again with "Wiles", Brandy!!!
(Sir_Lee) Hmmm, actually, there's this print-on-demand thing that's starting to
be available.
(Andrew) I agree! "Wiles" *must* be publishable! Your body of work would make
good comic!
(Brandy) I'm not sure the world is ready for "Wiles". After all, a boy kisses a
boy, even if only one knows it, and he's hypnotized.
(Andrew) There are *many* books where same-sex couples kiss.
(*Bash) While Ellen is gone, lets have a sing along, who's going to start it?
(CarrieGore) A sing along?!
(Michelle) Bouncing ball and all?
(*Bash) Okay, Carrie! Sing Carrie!
(CarrieGore) *Blush* Sorry, lost my voice tonight! :)
(Michelle) Ok then, spill the goods!
(CarrieGore) I can empty a chatroom in seconds when I start singing! LOL
(Nostrumo) Well we are over 25 and my screen is 25 so start assigning!
(*Bash) Carrie speechless! What we will see next???
(Renee) *Sings* "Along long time ago, I can still remember how the music used to
make me smile..."
"..and I knew if I had my chance, I could make the people dance and maybe they'd
be happy for a while..."
(*Bash) Very nice Renee, Brandy, you take it now!
(Renee) *Grin*
(Brandy) *Blows kiss*
(lrochelle) Good Luck!
(Brandy) "Come, sing my song with me. Come, and hear my melody."
That's a line from my latest story.
(ehayes) I'm back!
(*Bash) Okay, let's stop talking about her and start asking!
(Takana) Thank God for cable modems! :)
(*Bash) Remember post cards? Stamps, snail mail?
(Renee) Gah! *Shudder*
(ehayes) Oh, that paper stuff. *Snort* Anyone remember talk?
(*Bash) Sorry, too damn old!
(Renee) Me too!
(Michelle) Ellen snorts PAPER??
(*Bash) I tried snorting Coke once, but the bubbles burn your nose! Pepsi was no
different!
(Nostrumo) Well I tried it with water and it's not a pretty sight water coming
out of your mouth and nose! *Shudders*
(Brandy) Tastes better if you take it in past the taste buds.
(*Bash) Very true!
(Brandy) I mean, that's what they're for, right?
(Michelle) Not if you are addicted to DP, Brandy. *Hee hee*
(Andrew) Bubbles up nose, same as powder up nose! *Achoo*
(Nostrumo) Like taking a snow-line?
(ehayes) Could we stop the drug use here? It's a bad influence on the kids! =)
(Nostrumo) What kids? We had asked no minors or had we?
(*Bash) Okay, shall we ask more questions?
(PAM-vol) Do you see Tuck's Dad ever finding out about Val?
(Brandy) Good question!
(ehayes) Yes, not anytime soon though. And, it'll be different in the regular
story and in Seasons.
(lrochelle) When are we going to see more "Lady of the Rings"?
(ehayes) Um. When I get off my ass and write some more on it?
(lrochelle) Sorry! Don't mean to rush you, Creativity takes time!
(ehayes) No, I just need to get off my ass, like Brandy's been bugging me to do.
(Brandy) But it's such a cute ass, and we want to see more of it!
(lrochelle) Well, I'm looking forward to it!
(Brandy) Her tail? Think, Playboy bunny!
(ehayes) I think not!
(Takana) Will Debbie and Jane meet?
(ehayes) Yes.
(Takana) Ooo! And with Tuck in the middle. THAT I can't wait to see! :)
(ehayes) It's gonna be an even match, too. =)
(PAM-vol) What about his Mom, would she like having another daughter?
(ehayes) No, not really. She had enough problems with Susan.
(Andrew) Will Tuck's mom walk into Val's salon and see her?
(ehayes) I haven't quite figured it out yet.
(Renee) The start of TSeason seemed to include a serious case of mistaken
identity or intention. Has that plot thread dropped entirely or will we get back
to it?
(ehayes) *Grin* You'll see!
(Sir_Lee) By the way, what did worry Tuck's parents so that made them send him
to Aunt Jane?
(ehayes) You'll find that out too. But not yet.
(Renee) *Grin* See above.
(Takana) They discovered him with the hamster and the duct tape??? (e.g.)
(Sir_Lee) Oh, OK! At least I don't feel so stupid for not getting that.
(PAM-vol) Did both Tuck's parents KNOW what Jane does with her students? Or will
they find out before it is over?
(ehayes) Can't tell you. =)
(Nostrumo) Better, what might happen when Debbie bursts into Jane's school and
sees what Jane does there?
(ehayes) Yeah, she might decide to compete with Jane. =)
(MonicaS) What do you do about readers who don't get your hints? ;-)
(ehayes) Which hints?
(MonicaS) Well, your stories are full of hints, like Jane thinking Tucker is 14?
(ehayes) Come on, give ME a hint!
Well, if the readers don't get it, too bad. Although I will repeat info if they
missed it.
(Brandy) Speaking of addiction, do you note the trend? Gets us hooked, THEN
tells us the price! (Lots and lots of patience!)
(ehayes) Who, me? *Innocent look*
(Renee) *Showing signs of withdrawal* You Tuck pusher you! *Shakes finger at
Ellen*
(Brandy) I told her the addiction is terrible, but the rush is AWESOME!
(Renee) Yeah, but the low is TERRIBLE!
(Brandy) The only compensation is that you can re-hit on the same fix, for
nearly as good an effect.
(Renee) And you don't build a tolerance, thank Gawd!
(ehayes) Yeah, I re-read my stuff and STILL laugh at parts. And "Final Cut"
makes me teary-eyed.
(Renee) *Agrees with Ellen*
(Andrew) I have all 38 chapters and Tucky Season, I will re-read constantly!
(Takana) Same here Andrew! When a new chapter comes out, I often save it to
floppy and read it at work during the quiet moments!
(PAM-vol) What if Debbie and Jane come to terms and Jane took Debbie to be an
assistant?
(ehayes) That would be scary, wouldn't it?
(Andrew) Would Jane and Debbie get along? Both are strong-minded business-women.
(ehayes) They'd either get along real well or hate each other.
(Takana) I think it's either, they'll tear each other apart or get along like a
house afire.
(PAM-vol) Yes, but Debbie sees it more of a business than a mission in life, so
she would be willing to compromise.
(ehayes) Who knows? Remember, she dressed Tucker up on her own.
(*Bash) So, Ellen, when will you post a new chapter of Tuck?
(ehayes) *Slaps the moderator*
(*Bash) Ouch, that hurt!
(Nostrumo) *Whoppee*
(Takana) Yeah! If you're gonna hit someone use this! *Hands Ellen a large
pillow*
(*Bash) Hit her in the head, less chance for serious injury!
(ehayes) *Tosses pillow over her shoulder, bouncing it off Brandy's head*
(Nostrumo) Must sound like a bell with a very deep sound! *LOL*
(Brandy) *Dong* Onng, onnnngg, onnnnngggg!!!
(Nostrumo) Yep that's the tune! :)
(lrochelle) Where ever you decide on where Tuck should go I know it'll be good!
(ehayes) Thank you lrochelle!
(lrochelle) You've taken him into realms I never would have guessed, but I was
never disappointed!
(Sir_Lee) It has been said/implied that Debbie has lesbian tendencies, so she
probably gets excited with a boyfriend who looks likes girl?
(ehayes) Well, Debbie's not real well in the head!
(*Bash) Debbie, demented. Doh!
(PAM-vol) Regarding Season, do you ever go back and change any of the previous
parts (like you threaten to)?
(ehayes) Sometimes I do, yes.
(PAM-vol) *Sigh* I will have to keep reading from the start each time I guess!
Oh well, it could be something that I WOULDN'T WANT TO DO!
(ehayes) Well. *Shrug*
(MonicaS) Do you want spell corrections if I find an error?
(ehayes) Not yet. I'll 'call' for them on the writing page when I'm ready. Save
'em, by line numbers if possible.
(Andrew) Debbie + Lisa + Val?
(ehayes) Maybe.
(Renee) Have you revised "Lady of the Ring"?
(ehayes) Yes, a little.
(Brandy) Ellen didn't want to put out what we have posted, but I'm not sorry!
(Renee) Neither are we! *Hugs Brandy and Ellen*
(Nostrumo) But it had hooked the readers, so they will do everything for you and
her! Egad slavery!
(ehayes) *Evil grin*
(Nostrumo) *Points at her* Mommy!
(Brandy) Yeah, well prove it. Get her attention so she works on it some more.
(Or maybe not, if it means less Tuck.)
(ehayes) Or really piss me off! I'm touchy that way. =)
(Nostrumo) And pushy.
(*Bash) If Ellen was to suddenly put Tuck on a pay site, hmmm.....how much is
SRS now a days? *Pregnant pause*
(Andrew) I'd lose my fix! I can't afford pay sites!
(Takana) Oh lord, please no! Us PAYING for Tuck! Ugh!
(ehayes) Except I honestly would not do that. I think pay sites are evil.
(Takana) THANK YOU ELLEN!!!! {{{{{{{{{{{{Ellen}}}}}}}}}}}}}
(ehayes) Although, if I ever get it PRINTED, then I'll sell you the bound
edition!
(Brandy) I get the first autograph!!
(Nostrumo) I want a hard cover!
(MonicaS) Go into a copy shop and get a hard cover!
(Nostrumo) Well I had printed it, but it was costly!
(tabby) I'd buy a first edition!
(Renee) Thank you! I have no credit card, but I'll buy the book though!
(*Bash) Sorry about that, the Wizard screws with my mind some days, he thinks
it's funny.
(PAM-vol) Another personal, how is the SO's work coming, are your finances
settling down any?
(ehayes) Finally, sort of. We're still in the hole, but climbing out finally.
(PAM-vol) So glad to hear money is coming in. We all have been keeping you in
our thoughts.
(Andrew) This call is costing me an arm and a leg (and the rest of my body) in
charges to BT.
(ehayes) Fuck BT! And you can tell 'em I said that!
(Nostrumo) As if they care.
(Andrew) They still want my money, I am unemployed, so gotta go.
(ehayes) You never know Nos, there could be a fan in the controlling board! =)
Andrew, thanks for stopping by!
(Andrew) Bye!
(Brandy) In your personal life, other than SRS, what goals do you have?
(ehayes) To get me and the SO into a more stable, resilient position. And get
bookshelves! =)
I really don't have much I want to 'do with my life'. Children would be a
blessing, but hard to arrange. I would like to raise a child, though.
(Nostrumo) Adoption?
(ehayes) It's possible, but VERY hard and expensive.
(MonicaS) Hmm, hard adopting as a lesbian couple?
(Takana) But it can be worth it and the kids often come out right! Such as me!
:)
(MonicaS) Takana, you were raised by a lesbian couple?
(Takana) LOL! No, but I was adopted, besides, the lesbians I know are more
interested in having the kids themselves via birth than adoption.
(ehayes) Yep.
(Nostrumo) Shit I have to leave, my time is up! Thanks for the insight Ellen.
Ciao!
(ehayes) Bye Nos!
(PAM-vol) If Tuck is at Jane's for only the summer, will he be a "big sister" by
himself or only with Charlene?
(ehayes) That would give away too much. =)
(Takana) LOL! A very clarifying answer there! :)
(Brandy) Her specialty.
(PAM-vol) Sorry, us "inquiring minds" just want to know! :)
(ehayes) I didn't say "I'd give away all the plot details", did I?
(MonicaS) Classified? ;-)
(Brandy) Plot? I thought we were talking about YOUR stories? *Ducks*
(PAM-vol) *Ouch* You didn't tell me to duck!!!
(Brandy) *Or actually, she was falling on the floor, laughing*
(ehayes) *Pulls out Tucker's crossbow and shoots Brandy with a tranq dart*
(Renee) *Starts to scream More Tuck! Then smothers herself with pillow to avoid
being whacked*
(Brandy) *Brandy settles back down to, "realistic, but dull."*
(Sir_Lee) Well, "seasons" will be one summer long, how many weeks have already
gone by?
(ehayes) About 3-4 weeks. *Shudders, screams "I'll never get finished!"*
But it should be moving along faster in the second half of the summer, after...
(Renee) After??? *Jaws theme plays in background*
(PAM-vol) After??? Aw, come on now, just a hint! *Please*
(ehayes) *Grins at everyone* Oh, did I say something interesting?
(Takana) Whoa! You're saying we're about a third of the way through Tucky
Season?!??!!??
(ehayes) Yeah, makes you sick, doesn't it?
(Takana) *Eeep* That's gonna make for a rather big file for me to sneak into
work on a flooppy to read through! :(
(Sir_Lee) Takana, zip it!
(Takana) That's what I suspect I'll have to do with it!
(Brandy) (After Debbie shows up, and Mike, and...)
(Sir_Lee) OK, so we should be approaching the Fourth of July, any special plans
for that?
(ehayes) Big parade!
(Brandy) (After they meet Eugene Frederick Wallace...)
(MonicaS) Frederick? Has that name been mentioned yet?
(*Bash) Will Val get a Bang on the 4th?
(ehayes) Um. Yeah, you could say that. She's also going to be the cause of one.
(Brandy) (Not much more to cover in that story line at all...)
(ehayes) Brandy, if you want to keep reading the proofs, shut yer mouth!
(Brandy) Sorry, those bits were from a long time ago, and I thought they were
out. ;)
(lrochelle) Ellen and Brandy, are the two conspiring to write something else
together?
(ehayes) Not at the moment, no.
(Brandy) *Sad, lonely sigh*
(lrochelle) Sorry to hear that you two do great together!
(Renee) *Pounces* Ha! Gotcha!
(*Bash) No grab assing in the chat room unless the really cute girls are
grabbing mine!
(Brandy) You wish!
(*Bash) Oops was that out loud?
(PAM-vol) Bash, aren't you in enough trouble all ready?
(*Bash) Moi?
(ehayes) *Grin* Passive aggressive behavior, tsk tsk...
(Renee) *Grabs Bash's cute tush*
(ehayes) Or should I go and play with my naked wife?
(Renee) Ooooh! Play! Play! Play! *Grin*
(Takana) *Leering* Only if we can watch Ellen! :)
(*Bash) Uh oh, here comes Julie!
(ehayes) *Listens to gentle snores* Ya know, I don't think waking her up would
be a good idea.
(*Bash) Depends on how you wake her up!
(Renee) *Finger snap*
(ehayes) There IS no good way to wake her up, because then she's awake... =)
(*Bash) I know when I wake Julie up the right way... Well, never mind!
(Brandy) Oooh, that IS kinky!
(Takana) You have an evil mind Bash, I salute you for it! :)
(Brandy) Don't the rest of you find reading Tuck to be an almost, 'climactic
experience'?
(MonicaS) Ellen, do you have other proofreaders besides Brandy?
(*Bash) You may have worn them out.
(ehayes) Not right now, no. Write me if you want to, and we'll set something up
when the time comes.
(Brandy) I don't really proofread, I just make inane comments.
(PAM-vol) I'm free right now, can I instead???
(Brandy) Yes! Of course.
(*Bash) Play or proofread, Pam?
(MonicaS) Well, I shouldn't offer any proofreading stories, I have enough to do,
I was only wondering about the errors I catch while reading earlier.
(ehayes) Like I said, make a note of what story and the line number, and save
them all up.
(PAM-vol) Speaking of the wife, what does SHE think about Tuck and does she give
you any input?
(ehayes) She used to, but she doesn't like Seasons, so she hasn't looked at it
in a year.
(Takana) Why doesn't she like it?
(ehayes) *I* don't know. She's weird.
My mom likes it, though. =)
+ Tigger has arrived.
(Renee) *Cheer Tigger*
(ehayes) Welcome back Tigger! *Pounces on an unsuspecting Tigger*
(Tigger) *Yelp*
(*Bash) Okay Tigger, you have to clean up the fur balls this time before you
leave!
(Tigger) *Shakes all over Bash*
(*Bash) *Ssptzzzz* Yuck! Tigger hair everywhere!
(Brandy) Don't irritate the Tigger, for he has long claws, and you taste good
with ketchup!
(Renee) *Starts humming the Tigger song*
(Takana) Ellen, you're moving from being a guy to a girl. Do you find you
understand women better now, or are they even more a mystery to you? :)
(ehayes) People in general are a mystery to me. I've come to understand them
better, but both male AND female seem incredibly stupid at times. I think I do
understand them better than I used to, though.
I just don't know if that was me-developing-socially or me-transitioning.
(Takana) I suspect the first, as I get older I understand others better and of
course, having a F alter-ego for chat rooms does help me understand the lasses!
:)
(Brandy) Will that be two lanes, or four?
(*Bash) LOL Brandy!
Editor's Note- This refers to the joke about a genie who gets a wish to
understand women.
(ehayes) Sort of. But doing it 'in the real world' helps even more.
(Michelle) No comparison hon!
(Takana) LOL! Well I do pride myself on being a convincing F in chat, even
though I have zero desire to go TG in *Real Life*.
(ehayes) Oh yeah? *Grin*
(Takana) Trust me! I know I could be convincing as a F, but I'm 100% happy as a
guy, so why go through the hassle of the change?
(Sir_Lee) I have a friend who is a consummate chatroom-Lothario. He claims to be
able to "make" most men-passing-as-women easily.
(Takana) Oh yeah, I can spot guys as girls much more readily. The language just
isn't quite right for a woman.
(Michelle) So why not CD and try it that way?
(Takana) Ah, but what if I'm only a CD in my head?
(*Bash) What is the name of that river in Egypt?
(PAM-vol) How did your Mom handle your transitioning? Supported it or had to
work on her?
(ehayes) Had to work on it. I didn't tell her for several years, and then when I
did, I gave her two years without bothering her about it before I mentioned it
again.
At this point, she's fairly comfy with me around, as female, but since Dad
hasn't acknowledged that I've changed my name, she still has problems with the
name thing.
(lrochelle) Your lucky! When I changed my mom disowned me, I haven't talked to
her in at least ten years. I don't know if she is even still alive.
(ehayes) Yes, I am lucky in that regard. And very very glad.
(PAM-vol) When did you "discover" who you really were, instead of who others
thought you were?
(ehayes) I always wanted to be a girl! I would have been classified as a
transvestite with curiosity until my teens, at the earliest.
(*Bash) I'm going to pop some corn who wants some?
(lrochelle) I'll take some!
(*Bash) (Good moderators always have treats available!)
Editor's Note- But the great ones don't need treats or liquid refreshments!
(Renee) Butter and salt?
(*Bash) Sure!
(Brandy) Ellen is treat enough, thank you very much. (I need to keep my girlish
figure, don't you know.)
(Renee) *Will steal it out of Bash's bowl, no calories that way*
(*Bash) Help yourself, Julie just left!
(Tigger) Pass Brandy the salt-free, butter free, air-popped stuff, Bash! She'll
take one taste and then we can have a food fight with what is left!
(Michelle) Pretty brave when Julie isn't around, Bash!
(*Bash) Your point Michelle?
(Renee) *Marks the scoreboard*
(Michelle) Oh, just all the flirting Bash! *Grin*
(Renee) *Accidentally grabs some popcorn out of Brandy's bowl* Bleah!
(Brandy) *Whispers, "I never said I was gonna eat it. Ellen is my treat."*
Editor's Note- *Sings* 'The incredible, eatable Hayes!'
(Renee) Ack! Move the bowl out of reach then. Please! *Grins*
(PAM-vol) Did the Internet help you to decide to transition or were you already
convinced?
+ ehayes. has arrived.
(ehayes.) *Ahem* As I was saying before the computer hung up....
I did more research in my teen years and I realized that it wasn't just the
clothes. When I got to college and out of my parent's control.... *Laughs*
(PAM-vol) If I had found the Internet and the resources available, then I MIGHT
be where you are, BUT I do have two kids that I wouldn't have and wouldn't trade
for the world. Did the Internet help you to decide to transition or were you
already convinced?
(ehayes.) I decided before CERN wrote the HTML protocols. I have a diary entry
from 1988 that says I wanted to be a girl.
(Jessica) Ellen, I'm a die hard fan of Tucker and I've written a few notes in
your guestbook. Your writing has kept me from suicide many times!
(ehayes.) Jessica, thank you I'm glad it helped!
(Jessica) Well I've also been reading your journals and most of us have been
worried about ya! I really wanna meetcha someday and give ya a big hug!
(Partially cause I need one too)
(ehayes.) Why? *Hugs*
(Jessica) *Hee hee* Well you just don't seem to be that happy with yourself or
with life. Most of us know exactly where you stand!
(lrochelle) Ellen, no matter how bad it gets, don't stop! It's worth it!
(Jessica) Yeah!
(ehayes.) I'm not suicidal any more. The SO has shown me how stupid that is. Not
that it stops HER from getting suicidal! *Sigh*
(Jessica) Ellen, I love "Lady of The Rings" too, between that and Tuck I always
have read them on a night where I was gonna off myself and found some comfort!
Tuck resembles me in many ways!
Tuck represents everything I wish I could do and be!
(ehayes.) Jessica, well, I'm glad it could help, I really am.
(Jessica) Rather than finding comfort in anything, I find myself looking into a
shattered mirror of memories and a reflection pool of misery and endless pain in
the future.
- ehayes just left.
(PAM-vol) Ellen! You are still here right?
(Sir_Lee) Will she come back?
(Renee) Two alts, look at "ehayes."
(PAM-vol) OK, who pissed Ellen off?? Now we won't get any Tuck for a while!!!
(ehayes.) Helllloooo! *Waves*
(Michelle) She does that a lot anyway. She likes being two places at once.
(PAM-vol) Yayyyy!!!
(ehayes.) No my computer hung up on me unexpectedly, and so the previous
incarnation is a ghost.
(PAM-vol) We were worried when you didn't answer.
(ehayes.) Sorry! I dialed as fast as I could!
(Tigger) Now that's a scary thought! Tuck as a ghost, hmmmm, who or what would
he haunt???
(MonicaS) Bullies!
(*Bash) Debbie's body!
(ehayes.) Debbie, duh!
(MonicaS) And headmasters!
(Renee) Hmm. Demi Moore could have pulled a Debbie, but I don't think Patrick
Swayze could have pulled off Tuck! *Grin*
(Tigger) Renee, Leo DiCaprio could do it!
(lrochelle) Good choice Tigger!
(Renee) Hmm, I'm not a huge Leo fan, but yeah I think he could pull it off!
(Takana) I just finished reading that story you mentioned as an inspiration
Ellen, I can definitely see echoes of Tuck in it!
(ehayes.) It ALWAYS makes me laugh. A lot!
(Takana) Yeah, especially the second part, that was so much like Tuck!
(Jo-Ann) Hi Ellen, I just want to say that I really love your story. As a
lesbian, I find myself relating with Debbie, is she really gay?
(ehayes.) She would say that she wasn't.
(*Bash) But is she?
(ehayes.) Well, duh! She's screwing Lisa, she dressed her boyfriend up in girl
clothes before she has sex with him! YOU do the math!
(Brandy) Hey, when she visited Tuck on Valentine's day, she didn't make him
dress.
(*Bash) I was wondering if she was going to have a revelation and decide she was
and a F2M TS.
(Takana) So in that case, when do we see Debbie going topless in a dyke power
parade!
(ehayes.) Okay, Deb is not going to go topless, she likes her bras. And she's
not going to go F2M, she likes being female too much.
(Jessica) I do have one thing to add, I'd just like to say that your ability to
create real personalities in your writing and continuing it on from episode to
episode seamlessly, really brings a sense of reality to your writing. I
sometimes forget that these are not real people.
(ehayes.) Thank you. I try to give that impression.
(Jessica) Your creative and writing ability combined makes an awesome and truly
real world! I find escape from my life in your writing!
(ehayes.) So do I, Jessica. =)
(Jessica) All I've gotta say is you're awesome and everybody loves ya!! I've
gotta run though cause I'm a nutcase and I get excited too easily.
(ehayes.) *Smiles* Jessica, you're too kind. Lie down a bit and have nice
thoughts, okay?
(Jessica) You enjoy your evening, this is *your* evening, and I feel stupid to
be usurping some of it. So love ya! Adieu!
(Renee) All right everyone! Let's cast, Tuck the Movie! *Evil Grin*
(*Bash) Can I be Debbie? (Oops, was that out loud?)
(Michelle) You're too bashful!
(Takana) LOL! Well Leo is the best I've heard for Tuck! Maybe Leslee Sobieski
for Debbie? I caught her in "Joan of Arc", she might do Deb good!
(Renee) Sure! But I think it's Leelee...
(Takana) Is it Leelee? I seem to remember the TV Guide saying her name was
Leslee, all I know is she blew me away as Joan!
(ehayes.) Who's going to play me?
(lrochelle) You of course!
(Renee) Hmmm, the young lady who played Oz's jazz club girlfriend in "American
Pie"?
(Takana) The redhead?
(Renee) Nope the redhead was Willow from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer". She's all
mine! *Grin*
(Takana) LOL! That's Alyson Hannigan, I remember that from Buffy!
(Renee) *Nod*
(Brandy) *Steals a kiss that doesn't end up nearly as quick as she had intended*
(ehayes.) Mmm! Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!
*Grabs Brandy and holds her tight as the kiss gets more and more passionate*
(Brandy) Bye all!
- Brandy just left.
(ehayes.) *Loses Brandy, looks around, and spies Renee*
*Grabs Renee and kisses her passionately*
(Renee) Mmmmm! *Melts in Ellen's arms*
(bulletbobb) Tuck was apparently born on 4-3-81. Would you care to reveal where?
(ehayes.) You're off by a year. And, I'm not sure where he was born.
(bulletbobb) Which way am I off?
(ehayes.) *Grins but doesn't say anything*
(Takana) Maybe the back seat of a cab is where he was born?? :)
(ehayes.) More likely on the floor of a computer room. "Goddamnit Bill I TOLD
you it was time!"
(Takana) LOL
(bulletbobb) Reason I ask is, I'm an amateur astrologer, and a chart for 4-3-81
is really quite extraordinary, and seems to fit Tuck's personality. Was it '80
or '82?
(ehayes.) 4/3/80. E-mail me your findings!
(Tigger) Night all! Ellen, thank you for the gift of your time today, and most
especially, the gift of your stories. Both are HUGE. warm furry hugs!
(ehayes.) Night Tigger! (Again)
(Tigger) Tata for now!
(Renee) Whoa! The crowd thinning!
(ehayes.) And it hurts her.
(Renee) Um, non sequitr?
(*Bash) Ellen, I saw 27 people on line at one time, I don't remember that many
at a chat before!
(ehayes.) *Ahem* Anyway, it's time for the author to take a short break!
(Michelle) Good, me too. Need an iced tea fix.
(ehayes.) SHE'LL BE RIGHT BACK AFTER THESE COMMERCIAL MESSAGES.
BUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUYBUY
(Renee) And now a word from our sponsors..."Fictionmania! Once a day and you
can..."
(MonicaS) Who is sponsored by The Hidden Woman!
(Renee) *Tease* This is fiction! Have some fun with it!
(MonicaS) Yes, I guess I have to lighten up!
(tabby) This is fiction??? It seems so REAL to me!
(Renee) Reality is an escape for those who can't handle a good fantasy! *Grin*
(Takana) This is fiction?? I have to speak then with the author to see if I
can't get a better part for myself! ;)
(Renee) Just be careful not to get edited out instead! *Smile*
(Takana) LOL! No problem, I'll just reinsert myself as Diane! ;)
(Michelle) Hmmm! Haribo gummy bears.
(MonicaS) Renee, are you an author?
(Renee) *Nod*
(MonicaS) Hmm, don't remember reading any story by a Renee!
(Renee) None of my TG fiction is up yet. Hopefully soon!
(MonicaS) Well, I actually managed one story up on Fictionmania!
(Renee) Congrats!
(Renee) ;-p *Smile*
(Michelle) Characters writing the story line, what's next? *Hee hee*
(*Bash) Characters really do, believe me!
(Renee) *nodnodnodnod*
(Takana) Hey, it happens Michelle. I wrote a story and it went over rather well,
then I went to write a sequel and one character simply refused to go along with
it!
(ehayes.) ACK
Editor's Note- It should have been BACK
(Michelle) (Emulating Bill the Cat?)
(Renee) Nope that's Ack! Phhhtbt! *Grin*
(*Bash) Someone pound her on the back, she is choking!
(ehayes.) Oh, shut up, the lot of you. *Grins*
(tabby) AHHHHH!!
(Renee) Why the scream? Just overload?
(tabby) Ellen told us all to quiet down. I was just letting it all out!
(Renee) *Giggle*
"Drink wisely, Drink Groke!" And now back to our show!
(ehayes.) Hey, *I* have a question for all of YOU!
(*Bash) Shoot!
(Michelle) Classified!
(MonicaS) LOL
(ehayes.) Fine, be that way! =)
(Michelle) Hey! It takes one to know one!
(ehayes.) I didn't say I wasn't an obstinate bitch, I was just pointing out what
it was going to cost you. =)
(Michelle) I'm immune to your *smacks* now Ellen!
(ehayes.) What would you like to see on my website? E-Mail me and tell me!
(*Bash) Stories by Bashful!
(Takana) Go ahead and watch as we give 22 different answers! :)
(Renee) *Starts to tell Ellen More T...* *Smothers herself*
(MonicaS) Ellen. you have a good site, I mostly use Journal and Writings!
(Takana) Agreed! Journal and Writings are my 2 mandatory stops! Heck I got it
set up so Mind-It tells me when there's a change to the Writings page!
(Anne-Mal) Are you a Milo Manara fan?
(ehayes.) As my first reaction was "Who?" I'd have to say no.
(Renee) Erotic comics. Wrote "Butterscotch".
(Anne-Mal) Ah, you don't know where you got some of the images from your site.
(ehayes.) Never said I did.
(Anne-Mal) It wasn't an attack, I just wondered if you were a fan of his. I am!
(Renee) *Has way to much trivia running around inside her skull*
(Sir_Lee) Well, people, it has been fun, but I have been here for almost three
hours, and I do have a *REAL LIFE* out there!
(ehayes.) Gee, you think I don't? =)
(Sir_Lee) Bye, Ellen and all. Till next weekend!
(Takana) I need to fix supper for myself, so I need to take my leave of the
room. Keep up with the writing Ellen!!
(ehayes.) Bye Takana! *Hugs* Thank you for coming!
(Takana) {{{{{{{{{{{Ellen}}}}}}}}}}}}}
(MonicaS) How about a picture of yourself? (I know that won't happen)
(ehayes.) You're right. =)
(MonicaS) I wonder how many people misinterpret "Here is a picture".
(ehayes.) Lots and lots, but I have another picture of a cute girl I will
mislead careless people into thinking is me!
(MonicaS) You could perhaps find Anime characters to match all your main
persons.
(ehayes.) I could, if I wanted to spend my time looking! =)
(*Bash) Is the age of the girl in the picture correct in relation to you?
(Michelle) Closer to Tuck I should think.
(ehayes.) *Sighs* You'd think I'd know better by now!
No, I'm quite a bit older than that.
(Michelle) *Masochist*
(ehayes.) Switch, actually. =)
It's just that everyone around here is such a bottom.
(MonicaS) So you need a Debbie who dommes you a bit?
(ehayes.) It'd be a nice change! I can't even get topped on-line. *Sigh*
Come on, someone say something...
(Renee) Something!
(MonicaS) Something!
(Renee) *High five's MS*
(ehayes.) *Slaps Renee and Monica*
(MonicaS) Sorry, couldn't resist!
(*Bash) So Ellen, when will there be another chapter of Tuck?
(Michelle) Uh oh, one of her moods is coming on.
(ehayes.) *Slaps Bashful* *Twice*
(*Bash) *Ouch* Arghhhh, the kick to the *** was uncalled for!
(ehayes.) I hate smartasses! And obvious jokes! Come up with something ORIGINAL,
damnit!
(MonicaS) Did you *try* to get dommed on-line or IRC?
(ehayes.) Not lately, no! =)
And the SO won't let me go to the local BDSM play parties either. *Pouts*
(Renee) *Comforts Ellen*
(MonicaS) Hmm, life is harsh!
(ehayes.) I can't even get a consensual spanking! All I get is people begging ME
for spankings, and nonconsensual economic rapes by various corporations.
(Anne-Mal) How important is on-line life to you?
(ehayes.) Fairly important.
(*Bash) Where do you want to be 5 years from now?
(ehayes.) In a better job, with more computer equipment at home. Other than
that, I don't much care. =)
(*Bash) Whose stories do you prefer to read? and what kind are they?
(ehayes.) Uh oh. This one could explode! In the TG realm or in general?
(*Bash) Both?
(ehayes.) *Sighs* Bashful, you've been talking to my wife again, haven't you?
(*Bash) Sorry, don't know her.
(Anne-Mal) Should it matter?
(ehayes.) It does, most of what I see in the non-TG world is commercially
published, and of high quality.
(MonicaS) Is your wife on-line too?
(ehayes.) I tried to convince her, but she said no. One of her trademarks is
answering an A/B question with 'Both!'
(Renee) Most A/B questions are designed that way though! (i.e. Chocolate or
Fudge Brownie?)
(MonicaS) She better not do multiple choice tests! ;-)
(ehayes.) Not well, no! =)
(*Bash) I had to stop asking Julie where she wanted to eat, now I just ask her
where she doesn't want to go!
(
