SRU: Teachers Pet By Morpheus Gordon Teller quickly made sure his teacher Ms. Parker wasn't looking, then threw a ball of paper several chairs up, catching Sara Brecker alongside the head. Sara turned around, glaring to see who did it, while Gordon looked away and tried to look as innocent as all the other 9 year olds in the class. "Someone hit me," Sara whined to Ms. Parker. "And I think it was Gordy." Ms. Parker let out an exasperated sigh and looked at Gordon, warning him, "Don't throw things in class." Gordon gave her his best innocent expression, and as soon as Ms. Parker had turned back around to the chalkboard, Gordon stuck his tongue out at Sara, who glared back at him furiously. Gordon chuckled, loving how annoyed Sara was. He never liked her. She was such a tattletale, not to mention a snobby brown noser as well. Looking back up front, Gordon watched Ms. Parker writing something on the board, not listening as she explained something about verbs and nouns to the class. Boring. Still, Gordon didn't mind looking at Ms. Parker. She was the prettiest teacher in school, and he like most of the other boys in class had a little bit of a crush on her, though he'd never admit it of course. It was his God given duty to hate girls and teachers, and Ms. Parker was both. After a while Ms. Parker asked the class if anyone knew the answer to a question. Immediately Sara's hand shot up. Gordon snorted, thinking, 'What a show off.' Ms. Parker called on Sara after seeing no other volunteers, and Sara stood up and confidently gave an answer. "Very good Sara," Ms. Parker said, smiling proudly at her prize student and making Gordon hate Sara even more. Especially when Sara turned and gave him a smug look. As the class went on, Gordon amused himself by occasionally talking to one of the kids next to him, earning him the occasional warning from Ms. Parker. And when he was sure Ms. Parker wasn't looking, he tossed another piece of paper at Sara, earning him yet another lecture from Ms. Parker. "If I catch you throwing one more thing," she snapped, "you're going to the principals office. Is that clear?" Gordon gulped and nodded, glaring at Sara who was giving him a triumphant smirk. Oh, he hated her. For the next several hours Gordon kept himself out of trouble. A feat that was accomplished only due to the class breaking for lunch and letting him burn off some of his energy. Once they'd returned from lunch, Ms. Parker started teaching them math. While she was writing simple multiplication problems on the board, Gordon joked with one of the other kids next to him. "Gordon," Ms. Parker snapped, making him feel embarrassed at being caught. She frowned at him in exasperation, saying, "Since you seem to know this well enough that you don't need to pay attention, perhaps you'd like to solve this problem for the class." Embarrassed Gordon went to the front of the room and accepted the chalk from Ms. Parker. Looking at the math problem on the board, Gordon tried to solve it, but got confused, unable to remember just how to do it. When Sara started giggling, Gordon snapped at her, "Shut up ugly." "Gordon!" Ms. Parker snapped. "You apologize to Sara." "All right," he mumbled. Louder he said, "I'm sorry that you're so ugly Sara." Then turned and walked back to his seat, earning him a nasty glare from Ms. Parker. Sara called out, "And you're a dummy. The answer is 28." Feeling himself turning red with embarrassment and anger, Gordon yelled at her, "Fuck you!" earning gasps of shock from much of the class, and laughter from the other half. "That's it," Ms. Parker snarled, "you're going to the office." With that she grabbed Gordon by the arm and started dragging him to the principal, while he argued that it wasn't his fault. Running off of the school bus, Gordon was glad to finally get off the school bus, and more importantly, away from school. That bus driver, Mrs. Miller, was such a grouch. He didn't know why she threw such a hissy fit for such a small thing as his playing catch on the bus. It's not like the baseball was hurting her or anything was it? Putting the incident out of his mind, Gordon ran into his house, stopping just long enough to call out, "Hi," to his Mom, and stuff the cookies she'd set out into his mouth before running into the back yard to play. After Gordon had been playing in his tree for a while, he heard his Mom calling him. Looking down he saw her by the back door, glaring up at him. After Gordon had waved at her, she yelled, "Get down here right this instant!" Sighing Gordon scrambled out of the tree and ran over to his Mom, wondering what she wanted. It was still a little too early for dinner. She shook her head, saying, "Gordon, you are filthy. Let's get you cleaned up before we go." "Go where?" he asked, though he didn't receive an answer as his Mom seemed far more intent on washing him up and making him change his clothes. Once that had all been taken care of, they got into the car with Gordon still wondering where they were going, but excited to just be away from the house for a while. When they pulled into the mall parking lot, Gordon started grinning excitedly, already thinking of the stores he could look at. However, as they walked through the mall and stopped at several stores, Gordon was disappointed to see that his Mom only wanted to stop at the boring ones. The ones that sold clothes and stuff. Every time he saw a store he wanted to go into or something he wanted to look at, she wouldn't let him. Gordon was getting bored and frustrated. While impatiently waiting for his Mom to get finished looking at some clothes, Gordon started looking around. Just across the mall hallway, another store suddenly caught Gordon's eyes. He wasn't sure what was in it, but the sign said "Spells R Us" and it had some cool looking stuff in the window. Glancing at his Mom to make sure that she wasn't watching, Gordon hurried out of her sight and over to the other store. Hesitating for a moment at the door, he nervously took another look back towards his Mom, and then went inside. "Wow," he said as he looked around, seeing shelves full of all sorts of strange things. Gordon was impressed, thinking how cool the store looked. "I'm glad you like my store, Gordon," a voice said. Gordon jumped and turned to see an old man in a wizard's robe standing there. The Old Man chuckled saying, "I'm sorry for startling you," though he didn't seem to be. "Is the anything I can help you find?" "Um..." Gordon hesitated, and then said, "I'm just looking." The Old Man nodded, then said, "Feel free to look around, just don't touch anything." Gordon nodded vaguely, already starting to look at the neat things on the shelves. Most of them he wasn't sure what they were for, though they did look cool. There were movies, costumes, toys and candy as well. After looking around for a few minutes, Gordon wanted to pick something up and look at it closer, but the Old Man was suddenly standing there and Gordon remembered he wasn't supposed to touch anything. That happened several more times before Gordon remembered that his Mom was in the other store and didn't know where he was. Just as Gordon had decided that he'd better get back to his Mom before he got into a lot of trouble, the Old Man said, "Don't worry. Your Mom doesn't notice that you're gone yet." Then he smiled faintly, making Gordon wonder why. "OK," Gordon said uncertainly. "What's this?" he suddenly asked, catching sight of a golden colored bracelet on the counter. Before the Old Man could say anything, Gordon had picked it up and was looking at it, seeing that there was a red stone set into the back of it. It looked kind of cool. "That," the Old Man said with a smile, "is just one of my stock." When Gordon looked at him uncomprehending, the Old Man sighed, and said, "It's just a bracelet. One of the things I sell here." "But why does your sign say Spells R Us, if you sell bracelets?" Gordon asked curiously, making the Old Man chuckle. "It's a magic bracelet," the Old Man said grinning. "Everything I sell in the store is magic." "Cool," Gordon said, staring at the bracelet with even more amazement. "How much is it?" he asked, already suspecting that the five dollars from his allowance in his pocket wouldn't be nearly enough. Something like that must be worth a trillion dollars he thought. The Old Man looked at Gordon thoughtfully for a moment, then finally replied, "Five dollars." Gordon suddenly brightened up, already digging in his pocket for the money. As he handed the wad of badly crumpled ones to the Old Man, he finally thought to ask, "What does it do?" Gordon looked thoughtfully at the bracelet as if trying to figure it out. "You said it was magic." The Old Man sighed, and then explained. "You put it on and wear it like any other bracelet." Gordon nodded, wondering suddenly if he'd just wasted all of his money. "Then," the Old Man said, smiling faintly, "you can push the red stone on the back in. It's sort of like a button. When you do, the whole world will seem to stop." "What do you mean?" Gordon asked. The Old Man shook his head, saying, "You'll see. It can only last for an hour on its own, but you can turn it off by pushing the button again." The Old Man looked hesitant for a moment, then added, "And you might not want to touch anyone while using the bracelet. It has some other effects if you do that, but remember that after an hour the bracelet's power turns off." Gordon nodded, promising that he'd be careful. After thanking the Old Man, he hurried out of the store and back to the one his Mom was in. In spite of what the Old Man had told him, Gordon was still surprised when he found his Mom exactly where he'd left her, and she still hadn't noticed he was gone. When his Mom finally turned and told him that it was time to go home, Gordon looked down to the bracelet on his wrist and rubbed it. Smiling to himself, he followed behind his Mom as she led the way out of the mall. At home Gordon sat in his room, holding the bracelet in his hands and staring at it curiously. Wondering if it really worked, Gordon slipped it back on his wrist, smiling as it seemed to almost close around his wrist on its own for a better fit. Hesitating for only a second, Gordon pushed the button on the back. He felt a slight tingling, but that was all. Disappointed that it hadn't worked, Gordon got up and left his room, heading towards the kitchen so he could as his Mom if dinner was ready yet. He was getting a little hungry. Walking into the kitchen, Gordon saw his Mom standing there and asked, "Is dinner ready? I'm hungry." However she didn't respond to Gordon, making him get annoyed. She hadn't even moved. Going up to his Mom, Gordon tried to shake her to get her attention, but his hand suddenly went right into her almost as if she were water. Gordon's whole hand felt suddenly very strange. Very tingly and odd. Almost immediately he pulled his hand back out of his Mom, noticing that she still hadn't moved at all. He stared at his hand in amazement; seeing that it was all right, then back at his Mom who seemed almost to be a statue. "Wow," he said, suddenly realizing that this was what the Old Man had meant by stopping time. He just stopped his Mom. Giggling to himself, Gordon ran into the bathroom and found a tube of his Mom's lipstick on the counter. Bringing it back to his Mom, he started smearing it on her face, being careful not to touch her himself. The lipstick had no problems passing through her like he had. When he was finished, Gordon put the lipstick back where he found it, then pushed the button on the bracelet again. Trying to keep a straight face, Gordon went into the kitchen and saw that his Mom was once again moving around like normal. He tried hard to keep from laughing as he saw the lipstick smeared all over her face that she wasn't even aware of. "What happened to your face Mom?" Gordon finally asked, waiting to see her response. At first she wondered what Gordon was talking about, but as soon as she looked into a mirror, she gasped in surprise. Gordon burst out laughing and went back to his room before she figured out that he had something to do with it. Later that night, after his Dad had gotten home and they'd eaten dinner, Gordon decided to try the bracelet again. This time instead of playing pranks, he amused himself by making faces at his parents and doing things that he'd normally never do in front of them. Before he'd realized it, an hour had passed and his parents suddenly started moving as normal, catching him in the act of making a face at them. After being sent to his room, Gordon looked at the bracelet and smiled. He decided that he could have some real fun with it, and was already planning on how. The next day in school, Gordon listened to Ms. Parker lecture about history, glaring at Sara whenever she said something. She kept raising her hand and answering any questions that Ms. Parker asked, making their teacher smile pleasantly at her each time. 'She thinks she's so smart,' Gordon thought to himself as he glared at Sara. And she looked so smug too. Quietly crumpling some paper to throw at Sara, Gordon suddenly had another idea instead. Grinning mischievously to himself, Gordon pushed the gem on the back of the bracelet, watching everyone in the room suddenly freeze in their place. Ms. Parker was standing there with her mouth open in middle of saying something, and Sara had a smug self- satisfied look on her face that just annoyed Gordon more. Taking his time, Gordon went over and tried to tie Sara's shoelaces together, finding his hands sinking into her foot when he did so. The strange tingling ran over his hands and they suddenly felt extremely strange again. He pulled them out immediately and looked them over to make sure that they were all right. Deciding that the shoelaces wouldn't work, Gordon went back to his seat and pushed the red gem again, waiting for another chance. Gordon's chance came only 15 minutes later. Ms. Parker handed out history tests to the class and Gordon went through his test rather impatiently, already knowing what he wanted to do. As soon as everyone had finished, they had to pass their papers forward where Sara collected them all and handed them to Ms. Parker. It was at that moment Gordon used the bracelet. Going up front, he took the pile of test papers and dug through them. Knowing that Sara always got A's, Gordon copied her answers to his own test paper, then changed all of her answers. He chuckled maliciously as he put the papers back and returned to his seat. Everyone was shocked when after the tests were graded, Sara was the only one in class to have failed. Gordon grinned broadly once he saw the look on Sara's face. Rubbing the bracelet, he decided that it was definitely fun to have. Feeling extremely bored, Gordon tried paying attention to Ms. Parker and what she was teaching, but he just couldn't get interested. Finally just to end the boredom, he used the bracelet again. Seeing Ms. Parker still standing at the front of the room, smiling pleasantly, Gordon nervously went up to her. She looks so pretty, Gordon thought to himself, as he looked her over. She had dark brown hair, nearly black, all the way down to her shoulder blades. Forgetting about what happened when he touched people, Gordon gently put out a hand to touch Ms. Parker. Something that he'd normally do, and even felt embarrassed to be doing when she didn't know. His hand sunk into her and vanished, tingly oddly, but not painfully or even unpleasantly. This time Gordon held his hand where it was, feeling it go completely numb in just seconds. But at the same time, he was sure that he could still feel his hand, though very differently. Debating about pulling his hand out, Gordon instead pushed his other hand in, and then moved up so that his arms were in her up to his elbows. "Wow," Gordon said, amazed as he saw his arms sinking into Ms. Parker and vanishing into her back. "This is weird." Though Gordon didn't know why, and he suspected that he should pull back out, he instead stepped forward, suddenly finding his whole body soaking into Ms. Parker. The strange tingling then numbness overwhelmed Gordon's body. He couldn't hear or see anything at all. Then suddenly he could feel again and see. Gordon couldn't move however. At least now when he tried. Without meaning to, he found himself turning and starting to talk, surprising himself as Ms. Parker's voice came out of his mouth, saying things that he hadn't said. He also noticed that all the other kids were moving again like normal. Gordon realized suddenly that everything seemed so much smaller in the class, and that he felt extremely strange as well. He tried to move, but couldn't. Or at least not the way he wanted to since his body was moving on its own, with him just going along for the ride. Somehow, he realized, he was in Ms. Parker's body. Trying to stay calm, Gordon tried to think about what had happened. Since this had happened as soon as he stepped into Ms. Parker, he wondered if maybe he could step out of her as well. Concentrating, Gordon tried stepping back, thinking hard about doing so. Quickly a tingling covered his body and he went numb again, no longer feeling what Ms. Parker was. His senses all returned to him and Gordon found himself back to normal, with everyone in the room frozen again, though in a different position than when he'd gone into Ms. Parker. After glancing at Sara, Gordon looked up again at Ms. Parker's face, and then grinned as he wondered just what else that bracelet could do. Since he knew that he could get back out, Gordon wanted to try that again. Hesitating for a few moments, Gordon felt embarrassed to even be thinking of doing that. Of becoming a passenger in Ms. Parker's body again. Still he couldn't deny that he was curious to try it out. Letting out a breath, Gordon pushed himself into Ms. Parker again. After the tingling had all faded, Gordon once again found himself a passenger in Ms. Parker's body, forced to move around with her. He didn't seem to be able to do anything, and even his senses seemed a lot duller than normal. For a few minutes Gordon thought about how odd he felt, then realized suddenly that he could sense another presence. He couldn't describe it, but it seemed to be a little deeper in Ms. Parker. Suddenly Gordon realized that it was Ms. Parker that he was feeling in there with him. Then he felt stupid, asking himself who else could it have been? Since he could feel her presence, Gordon pushed himself in the presence's direction, suddenly feeling all his senses getting a little sharper and clearer as he did so. He could feel Ms. Parker a lot clearer now, and even sense a little what she was thinking. Gordon chuckled to himself as he realized she didn't know he was there. She couldn't sense him like he was sensing her. Curious Gordon "moved forward," closer to the presence, finding that not only did his senses get a little clearer, but he could feel it a lot better. In fact he could even "hear" all of Ms. Parker's thoughts. Gordon was amazed and intrigued. He listened in with fascination at what Ms. Parker was thinking. When Sara stood up looking smug and started talking, Gordon winced and screamed internally, "Shut up, shut up, shut up!" He was startled when Ms. Parker glared at Sara slightly and said, "Sh... Please be quiet and sit down." Gordon was amazed, though delighted to hear those words coming out of his/Ms. Parker's mouth. He was almost as delighted when Ms. Parker thought that she was just being a little impatient. Seeing that he could influence her a little as it was, Gordon "moved forward again" finding himself hearing Ms. Parker's thoughts a lot clearer. In fact, when he thought about it, he could even "remember" things that she did. Gordon was delighted and started digging through her memories. Stopping suddenly, Gordon looked up and realized that it was him looking up. He could move again, though it took a little effort. He could sense Nancy (he was having a very had time thinking of her as Ms. Parker right then) was completely unaware of his presence. But then again, Gordon noticed that she seemed kind of dull and weaker as well. For a while, Gordon went along with what Nancy was doing, writing things down on the board and explaining them to the class. As he was writing, or actually as Nancy was writing, Gordon looked at the English sentence carefully, immediately seeing the noun, verb and adverb, understanding exactly what those were as well. Several times, Gordon took over, mostly to glare at Sara or threaten to send her to the principal. The look on her face amused him, though not as much as he would have thought. As they were teaching, Gordon was surprised to find himself enjoying it. It was certainly a lot better than listening to the lecture, and now he actually understood what Nancy was talking about. Without realizing it, Gordon slowly "pushed" himself forward more, taking over completely. As he continued to talk, the words came to him as though he'd said them before, feeling perfectly natural to say. Turning back towards the class, Gordon asked a question to see if how well they understood what he'd just said. Sara's hand immediately went up. When no one else volunteered, Gordon called on Sara. She stood up and clearly gave the answer before sitting down again. Gordon smiled, feeling pleased that someone had been paying attention to what he'd just said. "Thank you Sara," he said, only then realizing that he'd been nice to Sara. Glancing back at her, he felt a surge of pleasure to notice that she was paying close attention. Shaking his head slightly, he went back to teaching. Seeing something out of the corner of his eye, Gordon turned towards the class and glared. A ball of wadded up paper was clearly visible on the floor. "All right," he said, "Who threw it?" When no one else said anything, Sara announced, "David did threw it at me." Gordon shook his head, annoyed at the interruption. He'd been trying to tell the kids something and they hadn't even bothered to pay attention. Without thinking about it, Gordon said, "Any more interruptions and someone will visit the principal." When several heads nodded, Gordon started to go back to what he had been saying, only then realizing that it was lunchtime. "All right," he said smiling, "you can go to lunch." Almost immediately the class flooded out the door. Watching the departing students, Gordon suddenly realized that he should be with them. It was so strange, he thought. He'd gotten so caught up in suddenly knowing everything and sharing what he knew that he'd lost track of himself. Feeling embarrassed, Gordon thought that he should probably "leave" Nancy, but that didn't seem very urgent. Glancing at the now empty classroom, he decided that it could wait a little longer. Chuckling to himself, Gordon touched his breasts, thinking how strange it was to have them, but at the same time, realizing that they felt perfectly normal. Gordon smiled as he looked at his...no, he reminded himself, Nancy's desk. For some reason, it felt like it was his. "I guess I'd better go to lunch," he muttered, realizing that he was hungry. Going to the cafeteria, Gordon chuckled to himself as he sat at the teacher's table. He'd certainly never expected to sit there for lunch, but as he thought about it, he could clearly remember sitting there on a regular basis. Ignoring the dichotomy of his thoughts, Gordon just ate his lunch and talked to some of the teachers sitting there, finding himself clearly knowing them on first name basis and remembering previous conversations. After eating Gordon went to the teachers lounge for a while, talking some more to the other teachers. It wasn't until Gordon got up to go back to class that he realized he'd been sitting with his legs crossed like a woman. It had felt perfectly natural, though the realization that it wasn't didn't bother him at all. Not when he could clearly remember sitting like that all the time as well. Having to go to the bathroom, Gordon just barely hesitated before walking into the girl's bathroom. Stopping in front of the mirror, Gordon shook his head. He was amazed. On one hand it was so startling and unexpected to see Ms. Parker reflected back, but on the other hand, it seemed perfectly normal. Sighing, he went to a stall and relieved himself, relying on Nancy's memories to tell him that he had to wipe himself. As he pulled his pants back up, Gordon thought that it hadn't really felt strange to go to the bathroom that way. Going back in front of the mirror again, Gordon started to automatically primp his hair and touch up his makeup, not thinking anything odd about it. Satisfied with the reflection, he continued back to his class. Back in class, Gordon quickly dismissed "leaving" Nancy, deciding that it certainly wouldn't hurt to stay like that for just a little bit longer. After all, he was learning quite a bit, and actually liked teaching. When all the kids had gone back to their seats, Gordon started on the math. Writing the problems on the board and explaining how to do them to the class, Gordon occasionally glanced back, seeing that not all the students were paying attention. Feeling a surge of annoyance, he asked someone to come up and solve it. After one boy had volunteered, and managed to solve it before returning to his seat, Gordon felt satisfied that the boy had been paying attention. At least, he thought to himself, the boy wasn't rude and insulting like that Gordon. Gordon froze, startled to realize that he'd been thinking of himself as if he were a whole other person. Looking nervously around the class and seeing all the kids watching him, Gordon shook it off and decided that he'd better get back to teaching for the moment. When it finally came time for recess, Gordon was relieved to release the class. Though it had been fun teaching, he was getting rather tired of the blank looks he kept receiving. He needed a break. Going to sit down at his desk, Gordon accidentally bumped a bunch of papers, causing them to tumble to the ground. Sighing, he bent over to pick them up, only then noticing that Sara had hurried over saying, "Can I help you Ms. Parker?" Gordon nodded, accepting her help. Once the papers were all back on the desk, Gordon thanked her, watching her smile as she ran off to the playground with the other students. "What a sweet girl" Gordon said, pleased to have such a polite and well-behaved girl in his class. It certainly made things easier for him. After getting comfortable in his chair, Gordon leaned back and realized that he would have to "leave" Nancy. For some reason the very idea seemed horrible. Almost as if he were considering tearing himself in two. Sighing, he knew that he would have to soon. And his best chance was now that the kids were out of the class. Standing back up, Gordon moved over to where there was a little more room. Closing his eyes, he concentrated on "stepping back" and pulling out of Nancy. But as hard as he tried, no tingling sensation appeared. He couldn't even feel any distancing inside his head. No fading of senses. Concentrating he realized suddenly that he couldn't sense another presence in his head anymore. It was just him. Gasping, Gordon remembered the bracelets one-hour limit. "But I didn't go back to normal," he said in confusion. Startled, he realized it couldn't turn him back to normal if he was still inside Nancy. It had just left him there. Looking down at his wrist, there was no sign of any bracelet. That was on his own wrist when he went inside of Nancy. Or merged with her, he thought. Gordon stared at his empty wrist; certain now that he couldn't change back. But that thought really didn't seem all that horrible for some reason. Thinking about it, Gordon already knew that he could remember Nancy's memories, but he was startled to realize just how clearly. He remembered all the years that he'd spent in college. Smiling to himself, Gordon fondly remembered his first kiss. Then he giggled as he thought about what his boyfriend did to him with a feather. Her boyfriend she realized in amazement. She could remember every moment of Nancy's life just as easily and clearly as she could Gordon's. She could remember the date with her boyfriend last week just as clearly as she could remember climbing the tree in her back yard the day before. She realized that was why she couldn't sense another person in her head. There wasn't any other. There was just the one. They'd merged. Gordon was still staring at his empty wrist when the class came back from break. After school had let out, Gordon realized that though the students hadn't noticed Gordon's disappearing, probably assuming he was at the principal's office, she knew that he couldn't just disappear. Horrified she realized that his parents would be worried sick, and that they'd have no idea what had happened to him. And she certainly couldn't explain it to them. Gordon stared at the empty classroom, knowing that Gordon would have to return. That thought made her feel extremely uncomfortable. It would be like tearing herself in two. In a way, it almost seemed like committing suicide. She sighed though, knowing that it was for the best. If she could find a way that was. Reluctantly Gordon went to Nancy's car. Her car. After driving to the mall, Gordon quickly hurried to the strange little shop where she'd bought the bracelet, knowing that if there were a solution, it would have to be there. Once she'd found it, she hesitated at the door, fearing for what would happen to her. But thinking about her parents, or Gordon's parents and how broken up they'd be, she gathered her courage and went in. The Old Man met her inside, grinning at her pleasantly. "Hello Nancy," he said, "what can I do for you?" Being called Nancy seemed perfectly normal so she didn't even realize that she'd been called that. "Well," she said to the Old Man, "as you can see, I went over the time limit." Snorting the Old Man replied, "Of course you did. But I did warn you." "I know, I know" she said sighing, "But is there anything you have that can," she winced, "turn me back to normal?" Shaking his head, the Old Man said, "No. Nancy and Gordon have, as you guessed, merged. You are no longer two people, but one. I could make you look like Gordon again, but you would still be as you are now and Nancy Parker would be the one to disappear." She frowned at that, not liking that situation any better. She felt perfectly fine as she was. "There is another solution," the Old Man said quietly. "All right," she said desperately, "it would be really suspicious to have me, have Gordon just disappear." Chuckling the Old Man assured her that he would take care of the problem, and then he went into the back and came out with a thick, and ancient looking book. Chuckling the Old Man said, "This should do it," then he read something aloud from the book, though Gordon/Nancy couldn't make out the words. When he was finished, he told Gordon/Nancy, "Your problem is solved." He looked slightly sad, then continued, "As far as the rest of the world is concerned, Gordon was never born." Nancy gasped and the Old Man assured her that no one was the wiser. "I guess it's for the best," she reluctantly said. If she had to choose between being Gordon or being Nancy, she knew that she'd have chosen to remain a teacher. After thanking the Old Man, Nancy started making her way home, knowing that she had some papers to finish grading before her boyfriend arrived. The End

SRU Friends are Thicker than Wishes

Here's my SRU anniversary story that I mentioned last week. I had hoped to have it ready for the October 8 anniversary, but fell a little short. Either that or I got a little longwinded ... again. This story is a little different from the others as I've written in the SRU universe in that its also a prequel of sorts to one of my non-SRU stories posted last month. It didn't start out that way, but given some of the characters I needed for this, I think it worked out better. You...

For some of you this may not be your cup of tea. If that is the case, please do not read this. Lastly, Spell's-R-Us (SRU) is an on going storyline. Many, many people have written SRU tales. SRU Interview with the Wizard

SRU- Interview with the Wizard By Mr. W Thought this might be an interesting story. Please forgive me if I've taken a few liberties with the material. SRU The Stock Broker

This started out not being an SRU story, but it was too easy to slip it into the SRU universe by the time I got into it. Hope you like it. [email protected] SRU: The Stock Broker by Elrod W "No, I understand," George Martin said, faking a smile as he shook the hand of his now-former client. "I wish you luck." George escorted the guest out of his office, and when the man had gone, George closed the door, plopped heavily into his chair, and spun the chair so his back faced the...

SRU Unreally Real

SRU: Unreally Real By Ran Dandel "Damn!" exclaimed Terry Ralston, as the monitor screen pronounced the words, "Game Over". "Killed again! If I could just get past that level!" This was the tenth time Terry had tried to win his way into the final obstacle in his latest computer game. He stripped the oddly-shaped device from over his eyes, and peeled off the equally-strange gloves. "How's that new virtual reality game, Terry?" asked his roommate, Jim Briggs. "Well, it's...

SRU Wine

SRU Wine BY Bashful Darrell Singleton was lonely and depressed. He always got this way around the beginning of December. The start of the holiday party season. He was a nice enough looking guy and his friends and co-workers liked Him, but he didn't get out much. He was shy, especially in large groups and around women. It had always been that way. SRU Wonderful Life

SRU: Wonderful Life by Carol Collins It was the day before Christmas. George Bailey, a tall thirty year old man, virtually ignored the holiday music playing on the public address speakers as he moved from store to store in the large shopping mall in a vain search for a "Trixi" doll. He passed within feet of a very beautiful, very large and very ornate Christmas tree without even noticing it. He was a man on a desperate search for a promised gift for his ten...

SRU High School Reunion

This is written for the third anniversary of the SRU universe. It's a little late, but somethings can't be helped. The first story specifically designated as SRU (although I spelled it all out the first couple of posts) was posted to the TSA-TALK mailing list on October 8, 1996. At first, I wasn't sure if I would have the time to write an anniversary story. There was the crossover series with the Altered Fates universe to consider, although that project now looks dead. And I didn't...

SRU Wizards Guest

It's been a while since I did an SRU story and I've missed the anniversary of its creation. This is a sort of sidebar to the SRU-AF crossover I did a while back. That story was the supposedly the beginning of a collaborative collection, but it failed. Maybe this story will help revive it. Or maybe it will just drive another nail into its coffin. But then, I never received much in the way of review one way or the other. Oh well. Those who archive stories freely may do so,...

SRU Hose By WEKM Jon was wandering about the mall while his wife Joanne was getting her hair done. Now Jon knew the mall fairly well and had an excellent sense of direction. He prided himself on it.
