SRU: Reversal Rings: Switching Lives
By Morpheus
It was mid-morning and the sun was out and clear, with only a faint
breeze keeping the weather from becoming too warm. As it was, the lone
woman climbing out of the limo thought that it was the perfect weather
for a little shopping. Even without the limo, from the expensive
clothes she was wearing and the way she carried herself, it was obvious
that the woman was wealthy.
Evalynn Collins was 27 years old, and a tall woman of 5 foot 10, with a
firm yet curvy build. Many hours spent in her private gym were
responsible for her toned body, unlike the surgical methods used by many
of her peers. That was a fact that she was proud of, just as she was
that her long golden blonde hair was completely natural and not from a
bottle.
Pausing for a moment, Evalynn looked down the street, filled with stores
that sold only the most exclusive merchandise. It was a place to find
designer names, and prices so high that if one had to ask what they
were, they could not afford it. And it was the perfect place to find
the dress that she was looking for.
After giving a gesture for her limo driver to leave, Evalynn remembered
why it was that she usually preferred to drive herself. However this
was a day that she felt like being pampered and having someone else do
the driving was a pleasant part of that. With that thought, she
absently pulled out a cigarette and lit it, then blew out a stream of
smoke with a casual elegance.
As Evalynn casually walked to the first store, she wondered if she
should get a new pair of designer shoes as well for that nights party at
her new neighbor's house. The man had just moved in and was holding a
party to introduce himself to celebrate. Not that it was too necessary
as the man had been a large rock star back during the 80's, so was still
rather well known.
"I wonder what Gayle would think?" Evalynn silently smirked to herself,
thinking of her older half sister.
At one time, Gayle had been extremely infatuated with the rock star,
loving all of his music and having posters on her bedroom walls. Not
that Evalynn had actually seen those posters much since they had grown
up in entirely separate households, only seeing each other when Gayle
had come to visit their shared father. Still, it had been enough to
build something of a rivalry between them, and one, which had not
completely faded with childhood.
Evalynn continued to smirk faintly, taking a drag from her cigarette as
she thought about her half sister. Her boring half sister. Perhaps
even somewhat unfortunate half sister. After all, the woman was a
housewife and married to an accountant. And as far as Evalynn knew, she
never really did anything fun or exciting, unless she counted the PTA or
church group, which Evalynn certainly didn't.
"At least her son isn't that bad," Evalynn chucked to herself, thinking
of the last time her nephew had come for a visit, and how annoyed Gayle
had been, though she'd struggled not to show it.
A moment later though, Evalynn forgot all about her family as she
spotted an absolutely delicious looking necklace that she just HAD to
have. And that was followed by other items as she lost interest in
anything save the shopping trip.
It was some time after this that Evalynn came out of one store with a
small, though expensive purchase. She held the bag in her hand,
absently wishing that she'd thought to have her limo driver remain so
that she could leave it there. Or better yet, she smiled faintly, that
she'd brought Peter to carry the bags for her.
Just then Evalynn suddenly stopped as she found herself facing a wooden
door where she knew very well there shouldn't have been one. She
blinked in confusion as the store that should have been there wasn't.
Instead there was a glass display window that revealed some jewelry,
statues, and strange items she didn't recognize, next to a wooden door.
Above the door was a sign proclaiming Spells R Us, which wasn't any
store that she'd ever heard of.
"Where did it go?" Evalynn gasped in annoyance, quickly scowling as she
considered who she could blame for that. "And what is THIS doing here?"
Her voice was filled with contempt as she stared at the store that she
was sure shouldn't even have been in that area.
Then without knowing why, Evalynn found herself opening the door and
going inside. She was confused by this, though quickly rationalized it
that it was because it might be interest. After all, she was always
looking for something interesting and exciting.
Evalynn found herself inside of a large shop filled with shelves. And
from what she could see with a single glance, there seemed to be the
widest variety of materials she could imagine. There was a grandfather
clock to one side, some DVDs against the wall, some clothes and even a
candy rack, though she didn't recognize any of the brands. It had to be
the strangest mixture of items possible.
Suddenly a man's voice said, "Come on in dear." Evalynn was startled at
that and looked up to see an old man behind the counter. A man that she
could have sworn wasn't there a moment before. But what surprised her
most was that he was wearing a robe. "Hello Evalynn."
"What?" Evalynn asked in confusion, wondering how he knew her name. He
was obviously crazy if he was walking around in public with a bathrobe,
though he didn't really give that feeling. Then again, he just might be
an eccentric whose party she'd been to once. That might explain it,
though he certainly didn't look familiar.
"No," the old man chuckled weakly, "we've never met before." Then he
turned more serious, his eyes settling on Evalynn and making her
instinctively want to take a step back. "You are here because there is
something you want," he told her quietly. "Something that only I can
provide."
In spite of herself, Evalynn moved closer to the old man at the counter,
still confused as to what she was doing there. And of course, what the
shop was doing there. A cheap looking store like certainly didn't
belong in such an exclusive shopping area. There was obviously
something really strange going on.
"Who are you?" Evalynn demanded, eying the old man cautiously.
"Who I am doesn't matter," the old man responded with a smile. "It is
what I am that does."
Evalynn frowned. "And what are you?"
"A wizard," he responded, with such a look of seriousness that Evalynn
didn't doubt that he at least believed it. "A master of the magical
arts. But I am also a businessman and sell unique opportunities."
"Such as?" Evalynn asked, feeling a mixture of curiosity and skepticism.
The old man's eyes seemed to light up at that. "What is it that you
seek?"
Evalynn just laughed lightly at that, deciding to play along for the
moment. "Something interesting. Something different." Then she
thought that she wouldn't mind seeing Gayle's face when she found out
about Evalynn's new neighbor. "I like trying new things, do things that
I haven't done before."
After just a moment, the old man nodded at that. "Yes, I believe that I
can help you with that. I have just the thing." He held up a hand and
added, "Just a moment..."
The old man disappeared into the back room and was gone for several
seconds, giving Evalynn time consider leaving. Something about this
place was not right. She was even beginning to wonder if there might
not be something to that talk about magic. Then he came back and gently
set a small wooden box on the counter in front of Evalynn.
"Here it is," the old man announced proudly, slowly opening the box and
revealing the contents. The only thing inside was a ring, sitting on a
small velvet cushion. He took the ring out and held it up for Evalynn
to see. The metal was smooth but seemed to shimmer slightly with a
variety of colors, giving it a rainbow effect.
"It's..." Evalynn struggled for what to say. The ring was so plain
looking, or at least it would have been except for the colors. "Nice."
However the old man just snorted at that. "This ring is special. Very
special." He gave Evalynn a stead gaze and continued, "All you have to
do is wear it... and within a week your request will be granted."
Evalynn gave him a skeptical look, more than half sure that the strange
old man in the bathrobe was out of his mind. However there were far too
many strange things going on for her satisfaction either. There was
definitely something odd going on with that store... and with the old
man. More than just the obvious.
Suddenly a ball of blue light shot across the room and stopped just
above the counter, hovering there. The glow dimmed just enough to
reveal what appeared to be a tiny woman, around 4 inches tall... with
blue skin and hair, as well as gossamer wings. The very sight made
Evalynn gasp in surprise, though the tiny woman paid her no attention.
"Yes?" the old man asked the tiny woman, what Evalynn realized had to be
a fairy.
The Fairy started talking in some language that Evalynn couldn't
understand, or barely even hear. In spite of that though, the old man
nodded as though he understood perfectly well. A moment later, the
fairy dropped a piece of paper in front of him and suddenly shot off in
a flash of blue.
Picking up the piece of paper, the old man read over it and nodded
faintly before glancing up at Evalynn and muttering, "Just an old
customer sending an order."
Evalynn just gulped, amazed at the tiny blue woman that she'd just seen.
Finally she looked the old man in the eyes and smirked faintly. "How
much?"
"Two thousand," was the immediate response, only to be met by Evalynn
already holding out her platinum card.
Just a minute later, Evalynn stepped out of the strange store, holding
her hand up so that she could see the light gleaming from her new ring.
Then she casually lit a cigarette, allowing herself a smug smile as she
glanced back down at her finger one more time before continuing on her
shopping trip, not even noticing that the store she had just left was no
longer there.
---
Jason Daniel stepped through the main door to the local mall, feeling
both excited and nervous as he did so. He had done it. He had snuck
out of the house, telling his parents that he was going to a friend's
house while he had really come to the mall to see a movie. It was a
movie that he had been wanting to see, though his parents thought he
shouldn't.
Since Jason had gotten there a little too early for the movie, he
decided to kill some time by walking around and checking out some
stores. It wasn't like he really needed a reason since he probably
would have done the same thing after the movie anyway.
He couldn't help glancing around, half afraid that he might spot one of
his parents. That they might find out what he'd done. After all, he
knew that his dad would tan his hide if he'd found out that Jason had
lied to them. And of course Jason would have gotten in trouble just for
going to the mall by himself as well. So having committed both of those
offenses at the same time, as well as going to a movie that they didn't
want him to see... Well, Jason knew that his only hope would be not to
get caught.
"Jeez," Jason mumbled to himself, "it's not like I'm a kid or anything."
But still his parents insisted on treating him like one, even though he
was 13 years old, and by his own mind, old enough to make his own
decisions.
Pausing for a moment, Jason gave another look around the mall, almost as
if afraid that his parents might have overheard his comment. Then he
ran a nervous hand through his mop of brown hair, stretching himself up
to his full height of 5 foot 3 and trying to look more confident.
"I'm old enough to go to the mall by myself," Jason insisted quietly,
still annoyed at his parents treatment.
Jason's Dad was something of a workaholic who spent all day at the
office and never seemed to have much time for Jason or his mother.
However Jason sighed as he mentally added, his dad never seemed to lack
for time when it came to punishing for something that he'd done wrong.
On the other hand, Jason's mother Gayle was always there, even when he
wished that he could get a break from her. She was a stay at home
mother and housewife, though she was heavily involved in both the PTA
and church functions. There seemed to be no part of his life that she
didn't intrude into some way or another.
It was with a faint scowl that Jason thought about his mother. For some
reason, she really got on his nerves at times. It was for more than one
reason. She was a little bit of a control freak, though she was only
looking out for everyone else's best interest... or at least what she
thought was their best interest. There was the faint air of arrogance
that only came from a perceived moral superiority. She thought of
herself as a good Christian and tended to frown upon anyone who did not
meet her expectations of what she thought they should be doing. And it
annoyed Jason to no end that he was always stuck with her.
"She wouldn't know fun if it bit her on the butt," Jason muttered to
himself, again remembering why he had to sneak out of the house to see
the movie. His mom was WAY too overprotective.
That just turned Jason's thoughts to his Aunt Evalynn, making him grin
broadly as he remembered that he was going to get to visit her again in
just a couple weeks. The last time that he'd gone to see her, she had
taken him out in her yacht. It had been a lot of fun, though he hadn't
really been able to tell his mom for fear that she would freak out about
him being on the ocean.
Jason couldn't help wondering how his mom and Aunt Evalynn could
possibly be sisters. They were so different. Then again, Jason knew
that they hadn't really grown up closely. From what he knew, his
grandpa had been fairly rich...and had his mom during a short affair.
There had never been any marriage, though he had kept in contact with
Jason's mom and even had her for visits. However several years later,
he had married a woman as wealthy as him and had Aunt Evalynn.
Not for the first time Jason thought that that the situation had to be
hard for his mom, even feeling a bit sorry for her. After all, his mom
had grown up without much money, while her dad had lived in a mansion
somewhere else. And even though Jason's mom had been the first born, it
was Evalynn who lived with their dad all the time and got all of the
attention. It had to have been hard.
Jason knew that there still had to be some hard feelings between his mom
and Aunt Evalynn. He even suspected that the only reason Aunt Evalynn
really came around or had him over to visit was just to show off.
Perhaps even to rub his mom's face in how wealthy she was. Even though
Jason liked his aunt, he had to admit that she was a bit snobby at
times. In a way, he guessed that was something his aunt and mom did
have in common.
However there was no denying that Aunt Evalynn had style. She was so
beautiful... and so rich. She could do anything she wanted... and did.
Jason smiled dreamily as he thought of his sexy aunt, and of the
exciting life that she lived. There were parties with famous people,
and going all over the world. Jason envied his aunt and wished that he
could do those kinds of things.
"Oh well," Jason sighed, deciding not to think about that anymore.
After all, he was going to see Aunt Evalynn again in a couple weeks...
if she didn't cancel his visit again. She'd done that before without
much reason.
"Let's see," Jason muttered as he looked down at his watch, seeing that
he still had a bit of time before the movie.
Still Jason started to slowly make his way down towards the side of the
mall that had the theater in it. He figured that he could check out a
couple more shops along the way and still get there in time to get a
good seat.
Suddenly Jason stopped, his eyes drawn to a store next to the Foot
Locker. The store stood out from the rest of the stores around it, from
any store that he'd ever seen in a mall. There was a glass display,
which wasn't too unusual, but instead of the open front like every other
store had, this one had a wooden door. The sign over the door said
Spells R Us. Then feeling drawn to the store for some reason, Jason
started for the door.
Once Jason was inside, he took a look around and whispered, "Wow." The
store was definitely different than anything else in the mall, and he
thought it was kind of cool.
"Thank you," a voice said from the side. It was an old man, dressed in
a bathrobe and adjusting something on a shelf. He smiled at Jason. "I
am glad that someone appreciates my shop Jason."
"Huh?" Jason gasped in surprise, wondering how this guy knew his name.
The old man just let out a faint sigh. "I am a wizard Jason, and I can
sometimes read minds... among other things."
Jason just stared at the old man in amazement, and some confusion.
"Um... okay." He didn't know what to think about this.
"That is all right," the old man chuckled faintly, "I am used to that
reaction." Then his expression turned serious. "You found my store
because you are in search of something. Something that I can provide."
"But I'm not..." Jason started.
"Looking for anything?" the old man finished with a knowing half smile.
"Perhaps not consciously." Then he moved towards the counter, gesturing
for Jason to come over. "You wish to be free of your mother's over-
protectiveness... am I right?" His expression indicated that he had no
doubt that he was. He didn't even wait for Jason to nod before
continuing, "You seek something different for your life. Something...
exciting."
For a moment, Jason just stared at the old man in amazement, then
nodded. "Um... yeah."
"I have the very thing," the old man said, moving towards the counter.
He pulled out a small box and held it out for Jason's inspection. It
was small and made of dark wood, with a small brass clasp holding it
shut. "Inside this box is something that can give you the excitement
you want."
Jason gulped and reached out for the box, hesitantly looking up before
asking, "Um...how much is it?" He was worried because he didn't have
very much on him, and somehow he didn't think that anything that could
do what the old man said would be very cheap.
After being told that it was only five dollars, Jason eagerly handed
over the money. He was filled with relief as he did so as it even left
him with enough money for the movie, if not any snacks. Still he was
completely amazed that it was so cheap... whatever IT was. It was only
then that he realized that he hadn't actually seen what was inside the
box yet.
Just as Jason started to open the box, the old man put his hand on it to
stop him. "No," he told Jason firmly. "Wait until you are home and
preferably alone."
"Um..." Jason wondered why, but nodded. "Okay."
He looked at the wooden box one more time before dropping it into the
plastic bag and hurrying out of the store, eager to see what was in the
box but even more eager to get to the movie in time. After going
through all of that to see it, there was no way he was going to miss it
now. Within minutes, Jason's new purchase was almost forgotten.
---
It wasn't until the next day that Jason suddenly remembered the box. He
had been sitting at home, feeling bored as he tried to find something
interesting to do. His dad was at work... as always, while his mom had
taken off for some church fundraiser. Jason was thankful that she
hadn't thought to make him come along for his own 'spiritual
development', though that did leave him alone at home and trying to find
something to do. It was only then that he remembered his purchase from
the day before and absently tossing it into the corner when he got home.
"Oh shit," Jason gasped as he ran for his bedroom, wondering how he
could have forgotten the box. Then again, he had just gotten home from
the movie, which he'd really enjoyed, and had found himself getting
chewed out for not getting his chores done in time. At least it hadn't
been about the move though. "I can't believe I forgot it."
A minute later, Jason had the box sitting on the table in front of him,
staring at it nervously. He still wasn't sure what was in it and had
been a little afraid to ask the strange old man. That guy had really
been intimidating and somehow Jason had thought that it wouldn't be a
good idea to annoy him.
"Let's see," Jason mused as he slowly reached for the latch. "Here goes
nothing."
Though Jason had braced himself for almost anything, he hadn't really
been prepared for nothing. Nothing happened when he opened the box,
even though he been half expecting a flash of light, a puff of smoke or
something. However inside of the box was a ring. It was the only thing
inside of it. The ring was a plain round ring, though the metal had
lots of colors in it, sort of like the rainbow that you could see on top
of a puddle of oil.
"Ooookay..." Jason muttered.
After staring at the ring for a moment, wondering if he might have been
tricked, Jason carefully picked it up. It was smooth in his fingers,
feeling not in the least strange. He held it up to the light,
continuing to stare at it, at the smooth swirling of colors that seemed
to be part of the metal.
Finally Jason nodded, "Cool." At least it looked kind of interesting.
Then with a shrug, Jason slipped the ring on. Suddenly the world
exploded into chaos and confusion, or at least that was what it felt
like for Jason. Everything dropped out from underneath him and all of
his senses turned inside out. And just a split second later, reality
snapped back into place and Jason's senses returned.
For a moment, Jason remained motionless, filled with confusion. He was
even more confused to realize that he could feel the sun on his skin and
see the sky above him, when he had been inside a second before. However
those were only the first things that Jason noticed were wrong, but far
from the last. At once he noticed a thousand things that were wrong.
Very wrong.
Jason bolted upright from where he had been sitting down, his eyes going
wide as he saw that he wasn't anyplace that he recognized. It was a
huge stone patio of some sort, overlooking the ocean. And for some
reason, he seemed to be on a lounge chair.
"Oh shit," he gasped in shock, freezing as his voice sounded strange to
his ears. With a nervous gulp Jason looked down at himself, his eyes
going even wider as he saw a pair of woman's breasts, covered only by a
bikini. "Double shit!"
An instant later, Jason was on his feet, his hands firmly grabbing the
generous but firm mounds of flesh on his chest. There was absolutely no
doubt that they were a part of his body, but how that could possibly be
he had no idea. It was only after several more seconds did he notice
that the rest of his body was changed as well. A single glance revealed
that it looked like a woman's body, dressed in a bikini. And from what
he could see, a sexy woman's body at that.
"This can't be happening," Jason squeaked out, holding his hands up in
front of his face and staring at them. They weren't his hands. They
were a woman's hands, with slender feminine fingers and long, perfectly
manicured nails that were painted red.
And then Jason noticed, there were several rings on his fingers. One
was an expensive looking gold ring with several jewels in it, but the
other one... Jason immediately recognized the other ring. It was the
same ring that he'd just put on.
Jason immediately tore the rainbow ring from his finger, but nothing had
happened. He hadn't changed back to normal like he'd expected. "Maybe
it's a one time thing," he told himself nervously, "or maybe it wasn't
really the ring..."
After several seconds of just standing there in shock, Jason tried to
calm down. He closed his eyes, fully aware of just how different his
body felt. There was the new weight from his chest, the hair tickling
his shoulders and the fact that his balance was all off. However he
told himself that freaking out wasn't going to do any good.
"This is way freaky," Jason muttered, dropping the ring onto a patio
table. He glared at it. "Twilight Zone freaky."
Taking a deep breath, Jason looked down at his body again, filled with
mixed emotions. He was extremely frightened and confused, but at the
same time, there was a thrill of excitement. Jason couldn't even help
feeling it, or even be completely sure why he was. Whatever was going
on, whomever he had become, it was definitely different. Definitely
interesting.
Then Jason took a long look around, staring at the huge patio that
seemed to just drop off all around him. He could see the sea around
him, hear the sound of the waves and the cry of the birds. Then he
turned towards the house, seeing the glass doors on the other end of the
patio. He hoped that he might find some answers to what was going on
inside.
Once inside, Jason took a quick look around, surprised at just how big
and nice everything was. It was obvious that whomever lived there had a
whole lot of money. But then again, that was fairly obvious just from
the patio and the view. Jason was fairly impressed as he moved
throughout the attached rooms, stopping finally at the door of the
bedroom.
"Look at the size of that bed," Jason let out a whistle. It had to be 4
times the size of his own bed.
It was then that Jason caught sight of something out of the corner of
his eye. Another figure... No, he realized as he turned around, HIS
figure. It was a mirror, or more accurately, half a wall covered in
mirror. And there was a woman's reflection in the mirror. As strange
as it seemed, it had to be his reflection.
Suddenly Jason gasped in shock as he recognized the reflection. "Aunt
Evalynn!"
---
Evalynn gasped in shock, feeling completely confused and overwhelmed by
the strange dizziness that had just hit her without warning. Then as
she became aware of her changed surroundings, her eyes went wide in
disbelief. And just a moment later, Evalynn let out a scream of panic
as she frantically looked around the small bedroom that she had suddenly
found herself in.
"Where am I?" Evalynn demanded.
Suddenly Evalynn froze at the strange sound of her voice, realizing for
the first time just how wrong her own body felt. She looked down and
promptly let out another scream.
"My body..." she squeaked out, "what happened to my body?"
For a moment, Evalynn just stared down at herself in horror. Then her
hands flew to her now flat chest, verifying that her prized bodyparts
were no longer there. With another gasp, she grabbed at her crotch,
wincing at the presence of strange flesh.
Nearly falling backwards in shock, Evalynn exclaimed, "I... I'm a guy."
However she realized that she didn't seem to be much of a guy. Her eyes
were drawn to her arms, which were thin and hairless. And of course her
whole body seemed thin, lacking in any real muscle. Evalynn had a bad
feeling about that. A very bad feeling. It was like she'd not only
turned into a guy, but a complete wimp at that. Or even worse... like a
kid.
"Impossible!" She shuddered at the very thought, trying to deny that it
even existed, though it was too late.
After a few more seconds, Evalynn pulled herself together a little and
carefully stuck her head out the door, seeing that the coast was clear.
She nervously left the room, half afraid that something or someone would
jump out at any moment. That perhaps someone might even reveal that
this whole thing was just some sort of joke.
"I've gotta be dreaming," Evalynn told herself weakly, thinking that
maybe she'd just fallen asleep while sunbathing.
Maybe she was still out on the patio of that beach house that she'd
rented. However it sure didn't feel like a dream and as much as she
might have liked to have believed that it was, something inside of her
told her that it wasn't.
Evalynn paused to look down the hallway that she found herself in,
thinking that it somehow seemed a little familiar, even if she didn't
know from where. Then she spotted the open doorway of a bathroom just a
short distance away. She immediately started for it, suddenly realizing
that she had absolutely no idea as to what she looked like now, though
she did have an almost burning need to find out.
Almost instantly after spotting the bathroom mirror and her own
reflection in it, Evalynn froze. She took a deep breath and her eyes
widened in recognition of the face that stared back at her. It was the
face of a 13 year old boy, and a boy whom she knew fairly well. It was
the face of her nephew Jason.
The world seemed to freeze into that very moment and all Evalynn could
do was stare at herself in the mirror with her mouth dropped open.
Seeing Jason in the mirror was nearly as much of a shock as it had been
to suddenly find herself in his body. It was impossible... ludicrous.
And it was obviously reality... however it had happened.
Suddenly Evalynn let out a gasp as she remembered the strange shop and
the magic ring that she'd bought there. Her eyes were instinctively
drawn to her hand, where she saw a ring on her finger. It was the very
ring that she had been wearing ever since she'd bought it several days
earlier. Or at least she assumed that it was the same ring.
"The ring," she whispered, remembering the old man's promise that it
would give her the excitement and new experiences that she craved. It
was obviously the ring, and just as obviously not working right. After
all, she sure as hell hadn't asked to be turned into a teenage boy. But
then again, a faint voice whispered into the back of her mind that being
a teenage boy was a completely new experience. However she growled, "It
didn't work right."
Evalynn burst into a stream of curses, furious at the crazy old man
who'd ripped her off. She didn't know if he'd purposely sold her some
messed up magic, or if he'd just been incompetent. Either way, Evalynn
did not like the idea that he'd made such a fool of her and was
determined that he was going to pay for it.
But first she remembered, blinking at her reflection, she had a large
problem to deal with. A VERY large problem. She shuddered at the
reflection, knowing that she had to get rid of it as soon as possible.
She had to get her own beautiful face, her own beautiful body back.
There was no way in hell that she could be stuck as a 13 year old boy.
***
Jason leaned back and changed position from where he sat in the middle
of the bed, bringing one of his legs underneath him and absently running
a hand over his other one. He frowned, still unable to get over how odd
it was to actually have someone else's legs... to have their body. To
have his Aunt Evalynn's body.
It had been nearly two hours since Jason had suddenly found himself in
his aunt's body. And in that time, he had stared at his reflection in
the mirror a thousand times and eyed his own changed form with disbelief
and amazement more than he could count. Everything about his body felt
exceedingly strange, and at the same time, oddly comfortable. Jason had
no idea what to make of that.
Though Jason had been shocked by the unexpected changing of his body, he
had still taken the time to look around the new house that he had
suddenly found himself in. It was a fairly large house, certainly
bigger than the one he lived in, and obviously a whole lot more
expensive. There was of course the great ocean view that he'd seen
while out on the patio, and other amazing touches such as a Jacuzzi and
a private swimming pool.
And while Jason had been looking through the house, he had been startled
at one particular discovery that he'd made. He'd already known that he
wasn't at home and the weather seemed quite a bit nicer. In spite of
that though, it had still been hard for him to believe when he'd seen
the local phone book and found that it was for Sydney Australia.
However the addresses on some letters in the kitchen as well as several
other pieces of evidence served to convince him that he had indeed
somehow ended up on the other side of the world.
"Australia," Jason whispered to himself, shaking his head slightly.
It hardly seemed possible, or at least would have if he hadn't just
traded bodies as well as locations. Apparently though, Aunt Evalynn had
borrowed a friend's vacation house for awhile, and now he was in it.
Then Jason looked down at himself, the breasts which pushed out from his
chest. So far he had yet to remove the bikini that he had found himself
wearing, in spite of the almost overwhelming curiosity. Finally though,
he reminded himself that he was the only person in the house, a fact
which he had already verified. And with a nervous grin, Jason started
to remove his faint clothes.
Once the top was off, Jason took several minutes to examine his new
breasts more closely, especially the nipples, which he hadn't been able
to see before. They were so big compared to his old ones. So
different. And they felt quite a bit more sensitive. And then he
turned his attention to the bikini bottom and what it had been hiding.
"Wow," Jason whispered to himself, staring at his crotch in curiosity.
The whole area was so much different from his own. It had a bit of hair
for one thing, though it was nicely trimmed. Of course his penis and
testicles were gone, which he'd already known. He knew very well how a
girl was different from a boy down there, though this was by far the
first time that he'd ever actually seen it for real. Jason was so
caught up in his exploration that it took him several minutes to
remember that it was his Aunt Evalynn's body that he was looking at.
That caused him to stop, blushing in embarrassment as he moved to get
the swimsuit back on.
Jason shook his head and exclaimed, "This is incredible."
In spite of how confused and scared he was, at the moment he was more
excited than anything. He couldn't help it. That had to be the most
exciting and interesting thing that had ever happened to him in his
entire life.
A moment later, Jason turned to the bedroom mirror again, staring at his
once again semi-dressed reflection and frowning. A thought had just
occurred to him. If he was in Australia... in Aunt Evalynn's body, then
where was she? Was she in HIS body? Jason wasn't completely sure and he
had nothing to really say either way, but he suspected that she just
might be.
"That is freaky," Jason mumbled to himself, not sure which was
stranger... the thought of him in Aunt Evalynn's sexy body, or her in
his.
After a minute though, Jason decided that it wouldn't do much good to
worry about his aunt at the moment. He had more than enough things to
concern himself as it was. Then, shaking his head at the situation,
Jason left the room.
Once Jason had completed yet another look around the house, he ended up
on the patio, staring out at the ocean. He shook his head at that,
unable to help but smiling at the sight. For the moment, all thoughts
of himself being in the wrong body were gone. All that he could do was
stare at the ocean, the fact that he was on a whole other continent
really beginning to sink in.
For as long as Jason could remember, he'd always envied his Aunt Evalynn
going to all of those other countries, seeing all of those cool and
exciting places. Jason had always dreamed of being able to see those
places himself some day. And now he was. He'd always wanted to go to
Australia, and now he was there, though certainly not by any method that
he would have imagined.
"And it's beautiful," Jason whispered to himself.
Jason let out a deep sigh, remaining where he was and staring out at the
ocean for some time. He smiled as he listened to the ocean sounds and
breathed in the salty air. It was relaxing, reminding him of the one
time that he'd been able to go onto Aunt Evalynn's yacht for during a
visit.
Then Jason looked down, noticing that he had been absently tapping his
fingers against the railing. He frowned slightly, realizing just how
antsy he was beginning to feel. It was strange, but as Jason turned
away from the ocean view, it dawned on him that he wanted something.
Jason was feeling some sort of urge... some sort of craving, though he
had absolutely no idea what it could be for.
"Damn," Jason cursed to himself several minutes later, still not having
figured out what it was that he was craving... or why. And it was
beginning to make him feel frustrated.
Walking across the patio, Jason noticed the table and paused. Sitting
on it was the ring that he'd taken off, the ring that he was sure had
caused him to suddenly end up in his aunt's body. Next to the ring was
a half finished glass of champagne, and just a little further was a
small gold metal case that Jason recognized. It was the case that Aunt
Evalynn kept her cigarettes in.
Suddenly Jason gasped, "Oh," realizing what it had to be that he was
craving.
Jason took a deep breath, feeling a little uncomfortable with the
realization. Aunt Evalynn was a smoker, so he was sure that this had to
be what he wanted. Or at least what his body wanted. At the moment, it
didn't seem to make much difference. The very idea made him wince a
little as he had always been somewhat nauseated by the smell of
cigarette smoke. In fact, the very thought of smoking seemed...
unnatural.
"No way," Jason muttered to himself, taking a long look at the cigarette
case before turning and heading back inside.
However just fifteen minutes later, Jason was standing back in front of
the table. The strange cravings seemed to have gotten even stronger
since he realized what it was that his body was craving. He stared at
the gold case, telling himself that it wouldn't hurt to just look. Then
he opened it up, revealing the all white cigarettes within. They were
of course the same ones that his aunt smoked.
A faint smile began to form as Jason thought about Aunt Evalynn smoking
those cigarettes. She always looked so sexy while doing so. Though
Jason couldn't stand the smell of cigarettes and thought they were a
dirty habit, he had to admit that there was just something interesting
about watching a beautiful woman smoking.
Just a moment later, Jason whispered, "It won't hurt to try one..."
Just one, he thought, telling himself that it would make the cravings go
away. That it would make him feel better. And though Jason wasn't sure
that he wanted to admit it, there was also a rather large dose of
curiosity about what it would be like.
After taking a deep breath, Jason nervously pulled one of the cigarettes
from the case and then removed the gold plated lighter. He held the
cigarette between his fingers like he'd seen his aunt do, then slowly
brought it up to his lips. Jason paused for just a moment before
lighting the tip and taking his first drag.
Suddenly Jason burst into a fit of hacking and coughing, nearly bringing
tears to his eyes. "Oh God," he gasped, glaring at the cigarette for a
moment, "how does she smoke these?"
However in spite of that, Jason absently brought the cigarette back to
his lips and took another drag. This time though, he did not think
about it or even realize what it was that he was doing at first. Jason
casually blew the smoke off to the side as though he had done so for
years, then paused in realization. He looked at the cigarette between
his fingers, which just a moment earlier had seemed so natural and
normal.
"Interesting," Jason mused after a few seconds.
He might never have smoked before in his life, but his current body
certainly had. And it seemed to know exactly what to do, as long as he
let it. With that thought, Jason allowed himself to relax and took
another drag, finding that it was quite easy and comfortable as long as
he went with the flow. He even blew another stream of smoke out,
feeling rather smug as he did so.
"Definitely interesting," he chuckled, watching the smoke float around
his head.
Jason sat down in the chair beside him, feeling rather pleased with
himself as he continued to smoke. It made him feel... grown-up. His
cravings were gone and he was beginning to feel a rather pleasant
calmness. The taste wasn't quite what he had expected, though it wasn't
particularly unpleasant either. Certainly not like he would have
expected. In fact, Jason thought that the whole thing seemed rather
enjoyable, in an odd sort of way.
Once Jason had finished with his cigarette, he went back inside, not
sure exactly what he was going to do. He still wasn't sure exactly how
the ring had made him end up there, or how soon he'd get back to normal.
At the moment, all he could think to do was keep checking things out
until he did.
After taking another look down at his body, still dressed in only the
bikini, Jason frowned slightly. Then it changed to a smile as he
remembered all of the clothes that he'd seen in his aunt's bedroom. She
had always looked so sexy while wearing them that Jason couldn't help
wondering what it would be like to wear them himself. The idea seemed a
bit strange and something that he never would have even considered while
in his own body, but at the moment things were a little different. At
the moment, it was more than a little exciting.
A short while later, Jason had gone through several sets of his aunt's
clothes, trying them on and modeling them in front of the mirror. He
was quite enjoying himself, never having imagined that he could have so
much fun just wearing clothes. And he was completely amazed at the fact
that he could even look sexier than he already did.
Jason stared at his reflection, letting out a whistle of appreciation.
At the moment, he was wearing some very revealing and skimpy black
clothes that were little more than lingerie, having carefully figured
out how to get it all on. It wasn't completely comfortable, but it
certainly looked extremely hot and made him feel...sexy. Very sexy, and
very grown-up.
Then Jason slipped on a pair of high heels that he'd found, nearly
falling over the first time he attempted to stand up in them. However a
moment later, he was walking across the room in them with ease, finding
that it was no problem as long as he relaxed and let his body do the
work. It seemed to know exactly what to do.
"Nice," Jason told himself with a smile, deciding that he'd had enough
with changing clothes for the moment.
As Jason walked through the house again, unaware of the sexy way he was
walking, his thoughts drifted back to his Aunt Evalynn and what had
happened to her. But before he could think things through, he was
startled by the sound of a door opening.
Jason turned to see a white haired older man coming into the room. It
only took a moment for him to recognize the man as Roland, who worked
for his aunt. He was something like Aunt Evalynn's butler, though a bit
more. Jason had seen him quite a bit whenever he had visited his aunt.
For a brief moment, Jason was tempted to tell Roland who he really was,
though immediately thought against that. Not only wouldn't the man
believe him, but Jason didn't want to deal with the problems that might
occur on the slight chance that he did.
"I am finished with the errands you requested," Roland stated calmly
with his British accent.
Though Jason had no idea what those errands might be, he had seen his
aunt talking with Roland a number of times and knew how to respond.
"Very good," Jason told the older man, who nodded faintly in response.
A moment later, Roland looked at Jason with a faint smile and asked, "Is
there anything I can get for you Miss Collins? A glass of champagne
perhaps?"
Giving a faint smile himself, Jason responded, "Yes. That would be
fine."
He was somewhat proud at how well he'd impersonated his Aunt Evalynn.
Roland certainly didn't seem to suspect anything as he hurried towards
the kitchen. Jason watched him for only a moment before slowly walking
back to the patio and sitting into a chair before continuing to stare
out at the ocean.
It didn't take long at all before Roland came out and brought Jason a
glass of champagne. He had to suppress a grin as he accepted it,
feeling both naughty and pleased at the same time. Jason had never
tried champagne before and was rather curious as to what it tasted like,
as well as eager to use his new opportunity.
"Thank you," Jason told Roland with a nod, which seemed to please the
old man a bit.
Then Jason reached over for the cigarette case and pulled one out.
Before he had even brought it up to his lips, Roland was bent over with
a lighter, which Jason gratefully accepted a light from. He took a long
drag before blowing the smoke out to the side in an elegant manner, than
thanking Roland again.
Just as Roland left, Jason took his first sip from the glass of
champagne, thinking that it wasn't bad. A moment later, he took a
second sip, smiling as he did so and rather enjoying the way it made him
feel grown-up. And as he remained where he was, drinking and smoking,
Jason marveled at the new experiences, deciding for the moment to just
go with the flow and enjoy himself.
---
Evalynn grimaced as she glared at her reflection in the mirror. It had
been some hours since she had suddenly found herself in the body of her
nephew Jason, and it had not gotten much easier to deal with. She
glared at the boy in the mirror, almost as if daring him to say
something about her condition.
"Damn I need a cigarette," Evalynn grumbled to herself, though she was
not feeling the familiar urge. At least not physically. "Or a glass of
bourbon." She shook her head. "Definitely a bottle of bourbon."
Then with a steady stream of curses, Evalynn moved back towards the
living room, silently being thankful that at least the house was empty
so there was no one present to witness her humiliation. She threw
herself on the couch, glaring out the window before turning her
attention down to her now male body. A male 13 year old body at that.
For a moment, Evalynn stared at her unfamiliar hands, and the ring,
which was on one of the fingers. She had finally noticed it a little
bit earlier and had realized that the ring which had obviously caused
her to suddenly move halfway around the world and into her nephew's body
had somehow come with her. On an impulse, she'd yanked the ring off,
but it had no effect in turning her back to normal. Finally, after
running out of ideas, Evalynn had just put the ring back on, not having
any other idea of what to do with it for the moment.
After sitting spread out on the couch for several minutes, Evalynn was
shocked to realize that she had been biting her fingernails. She hadn't
even realized that she had been doing it at first and gasped once she
did. She never bit her fingernails... NEVER.
"What's going on?" Evalynn asked herself nervously, feeling extremely
uncomfortable with that momentary lack of self control. She was more
concerned with the fact that it had felt so normal to bite her nails
that she hadn't even thought it unusual at first.
Just then Evalynn heard something fumbling around the front door, only a
moment before it started to open. Almost immediately, Evalynn was on
her feet, her heart racing nervously. She nearly gasped at the sight of
her sister Gayle walking into the house with a slightly smug expression
on her face.
"You wouldn't believe how much we made at the bake sale," Gayle
announced.
Evalynn was surprised as she stared at Gayle, not having realized until
that moment how much shorter she was. Normally Evalynn was a little
taller than her sister, but now Gayle was the taller one. It was yet
another aspect of her change which made her extremely uncomfortable.
"Um..." Evalynn started. "Hi Gayle..."
Suddenly Gayle glared at Evalynn, demanding, "Since when did you call me
by my name?" She was obviously upset at that, seeming offended that
Evalynn would ever even consider something like that.
In a flash of insight, Evalynn realized that there was no way that she
could tell Gayle who she really was. She would be completely
humiliated, and could never possibly live it down. Gayle would take
advantage of the situation to rub her nose in it and there was
absolutely no way that Evalynn was going to allow that. Though of
course, she knew that all of that was unlikely anyway as no one would
ever believe her. Changing into other people was just plain impossible.
"Um..." Evalynn gulped uncomfortable as she stared up at her sister,
"Sorry... mom." It was humiliating to say it, though she knew that at
the moment she had no choice.
"Don't do it again," Gayle ordered coldly. "Now go out to my car and
grab some of those bags."
Evalynn cringed to even think of doing what Gayle told her, but nodded
weakly before doing so. She silently cursed the whole way, deciding
that she was going to send an army of lawyers after the old bastard who
had gotten her into that mess. But until she had the chance, there was
little that she could do but play along and pretend to be Jason.
---
Jason stood by the door to the patio, staring out to the endless ocean,
though it was not visible through the dark of night, save for the
numerous dots of light from ships. However the sounds of the waves
echoed in Jason's ears, sounding calm and soothing. He remained where
he was for several minutes, smiling at the relaxing atmosphere before
turning to go back inside.
As he strolled through the expensively decorated house, wearing little
more than high heels, Jason thought about Ronald with some amusement.
After the older man had made dinner, Jason had automatically started to
clear the table afterwards. Roland had actually seemed shocked at that
before he had finally insisted on doing it himself. Jason had been a
little embarrassed to be taken care of by an old man, but he decided to
continue playing the part of his aunt so let Roland continue.
"I hope he doesn't suspect anything," Jason mused to himself, at the
same time being sure that he wouldn't. After all, who ever heard of
anything like trading bodies with people actually happening outside of
TV shows.
Shaking his head slightly, Jason was just thankful that Roland was now
off duty and probably sleeping peacefully out in the guesthouse. As
interesting as it had been having someone eager to do whatever he wanted
to make him comfortable, Jason was relieved to be by himself again. He
was glad that he didn't have to keep pretending to actually be his aunt,
afraid that he might make some kind of mistake to give himself away.
However he'd been with his Aunt Evalynn enough that it hadn't proven too
difficult to keep acting like her in front of Ronald. In fact, it had
perhaps even been a little too easy at moments.
With that thought, Jason paused for a moment to look down at the high
heels on his feet. They were so easy to wear now that he kept
forgetting that he had them on. It was obviously another aspect of him
becoming Aunt Evalynn, just like with the cigarettes... and other
things. Jason wasn't sure whether to be wary of the changes in his
behavior, or thankful for them.
Deciding that at the moment it didn't really matter, Jason shrugged it
off and went to the bedroom. He sat down on the edge of the bed, and
started to take off his shoes. Then he noticed something out of the
corner of his eye and turned, seeing a leather book sitting on the table
by the bed, with an expensive looking pen sitting on top of it. A
second later, Jason was peering inside of the leather-bound book with a
faint grin.
"Aunt Evalynn's diary," Jason whispered to himself as he scanned the
first page.
Jason smiled a little more broadly, having known that his aunt kept a
diary, but never having thought to look for it. He nervously looked
around him, almost as if expecting to be caught looking in Aunt
Evalynn's personal things. Then again, a diary was nowhere near as
personal as her body, which he was already in.
There was only a brief moment of hesitation and a flicker of guilt
before Jason shrugged and started to read. Jason was surprised to
realize just how many details his aunt put in there, shaking his head in
amazement. He stopped and carried the diary to the living room, then
went and poured himself a glass of wine before returning to the couch
and making himself comfortable. And then Jason lit himself a cigarette
before he returned to reading, sure that he would find it quite
interesting.
"Wow," Jason gasped after awhile, grinning to himself as he turned his
eyes from the page. "I wonder what this Brian guy would say if he knew
his nickname was Inchworm." Obviously Aunt Evalynn had been less than
impressed by the size of his equipment, or his performance. "She really
didn't leave anything out..."
Jason couldn't resist blushing faintly at all the detailed descriptions
that were in the diary, thinking that it was sort of like reading a
dirty book or looking through someone else's window. It made Jason feel
a little naughty for reading it. Still, there was something exciting
about it as well. Somehow he didn't think that he could bring himself
to stop reading the diary, even if he wanted to. But at the moment,
Jason had absolutely no intention of stopping.
It was more than an hour later when Jason finally finished with the
diary. And as he closed the book, he couldn't help but wonder what
other juicy things were written down in the previous diary books.
However he hadn't seen any other dairy volumes around and seriously
doubted that Aunt Evalynn would have bothered bringing them all the way
to Australia. They were probably safe at her own house.
"Who knew Aunt Evalynn had such an interesting life," Jason chuckled to
himself, feeling a bit envious about parts of it.
Finally though, Jason decided that it was time for bed. He wondered if
he might not even be back to normal when he woke up. If he might not
even find out that it had all been nothing more than a dream, though he
seriously doubted that. However he wasn't sure whether he wanted to
wake up with everything back to normal or not. Things were just
beginning to get really interesting.
After getting ready for bed, Jason stood in front of the bedroom mirror,
completely naked. He shook his head in mixed amazement and disbelief
that this gorgeous woman could actually be him, even for the moment.
Then he blew himself a kiss and whispered, "Nighty night sexy," just
before climbing into bed and turning off the light.
***
Jason's first thought upon waking up was the realization that he hadn't
changed back to normal during the night. That was quickly followed by
the already obvious consideration that it hadn't just been a dream
either. He really had turned into his Aunt Evalynn, and the fact that
he was still wearing her body was proof of that.
After sitting up and gently poking at his breasts, Jason shook his head
with a slight smile. "That was some dream," he mused, thinking of the
series of strange and even erotic dreams that he'd just awoken from.
However he could not quite remember anything about them, though he was a
bit wet between his legs.
Then shaking his head again to clear his thoughts, Jason reached for a
cigarette on the nightstand. It amused him at just how quickly he had
gotten used to smoking, when he never even would have considered doing
so just 24 hours earlier. And as he sat there, smoking with a
casualness as though he had been doing it for years, Jason rolled the
rainbow colored ring around in his palm, examining it carefully.
"Weird," he whispered to himself as he thought that this little thing
had been responsible for turning him into his aunt. Then Jason held the
ring up and blew a stream of smoke right through the center. "I wonder
where it really came from."
Just then there was a knocking at the door, followed by Roland's voice
asking if he could come in. Jason covered himself up and told Roland,
"Enter." The old man came in a moment later, holding a tray of food.
Jason was a little surprised at the sight, but quickly covered it up.
"I love breakfast in bed."
"I hope that it pleases you Miss Collins," Roland said with a smile as
he set the tray by Jason.
All Jason could do was look at the food and grin. "It looks good.
Thank you." Roland looked pleased at that, as well as slightly
embarrassed before turning to leave.
Once he had finished the food, or at least as much as he felt like
eating, Jason set the tray to the side and shifted position in bed as he
debated getting out or remaining there for a little longer. It felt so
nice and comfortable, yet at the same time, there were so many things
that he could do. There were so many possibilities that Jason's mind
reeled. It only took a moment longer before he'd made up his mind and
climbed out of bed.
A short time later, Jason had taken a long and extremely luxurious bath,
never having imagined that it could feel so nice just to soak in hot
water. Then he turned to the bedroom and took his time getting dressed,
trying on several sets of clothes before he found some that he was
satisfied with. More specifically, he tired of trying them on and
finally settled for what he was wearing at that time.
"So what do you think?" Jason asked Roland when he went and twirled
around in front of the man.
Roland looked somewhat uncomfortable at that, but offered a smile.
"Impressive as always Miss Collins."
Jason giggled, and on an impulse bent forward and kissed the old man on
the cheek. He was a little embarrassed by it, but the look of surprise
and embarrassment on Roland's face more than made it worthwhile.
"Why thank you," Jason announced before turning and making his way back
to the bedroom.
Sitting down on the edge of the bed, Jason looked over at the mirror,
then glanced at the diary as well as the ring that was currently sitting
on top of it. For a moment, Jason considered making his own entry in
the diary about what had happened to him, then thought better of it. He
didn't want to leave any evidence that he wasn't who he seemed to be.
Then Jason picked up the ring again, once more rolling it around between
his fingers as he thought about what it had done to him. He smiled
nervously, still not sure how he could reverse it and get back to
normal. And with a sigh, he absently slipped the ring onto his finger.
Suddenly Jason was lying down in a dark room, completely stunned. He
bolted upright, looking around with his mouth open as he realized that
he was back in his own bedroom... and his own body.
"I'm... I'm me." Jason gasped in disbelief.
He glanced out the window, seeing that it was night out. It only took
him a moment to remember that it was because he was on the other side of
the planet. The day before he had changed over when it was still
daylight in both places, so hadn't really noticed it so much.
With a gasp, Jason looked down at his old familiar boy hands, and the
ring that was still on his finger. He gulped as he took the ring off
again, staring at it silently for a moment. A chill ran down Jason's
spine as he stared at it with only the faint light coming through the
window.
"Jeez," he whispered, "when I put the ring on..." Then on a sudden
impulse, Jason slipped the ring back onto his finger.
A moment later, Jason was once again in Aunt Evalynn's bedroom and body.
This time however, he was not so surprised. He gasped though and stared
at the ring on his finger with renewed amazement, quickly pulling it off
and holding it up to the light. His heart raced as he stared at it.
Then Jason suddenly winced as he realized that he had just been back to
normal... then changed back again. He shook his head, feeling a little
embarrassed. However he realized that he had only traded places right
after taking the ring off and putting it back on again. And in that
case, he slowly moved the ring back towards his finger, deciding that he
might as well get back to normal for good.
"Wait a minute," Jason gasped, holding motionless.
As Jason looked down at the ring, he frowned slightly, wondering why the
hell he should go back just yet. After all, now that he knew how to
return to normal, there was no longer any real urgency in it. And
besides, he was finally in Australia and might never get another chance
to see it again. Why should he throw away the opportunity to do so now
before he'd even really looked around?
Jason smiled slyly, carefully setting the ring off to the side. "I'll
save you for later."
It didn't take Jason long to decide what he wanted to do now that he had
the opportunity, and only a few minutes more to get ready. He grinned
as he hurried through the house, finally telling Roland to take the
afternoon off, just before he hurried out of the door, eager to get to
the gorgeous beach that he'd seen below. There was bound to be a lot of
fun to be found there.
---
Evalynn grimaced as she pushed the lawnmower over the yard, wondering
what kind of hell she had found herself in. Her hand clenched the mower
in silent anger, wishing that she knew what she could possibly ever have
done to deserve such a horrible fate. There she was, with millions to
her name and being forced to do common labor such as mowing a lawn. It
was beneath her. That was for people like... like her sister Gayle.
"Damn," Evalynn grimaced, tiring of calling her big sister 'mom' over
the last day. And she was tired of having to pretend that she was
nothing more than an ordinary 13 year old boy. It was humiliating. "I
can't believe that she's actually making me do chores."
Giving a loud snort of disdain, Evalynn thought through all of the
embarrassments and humiliations that she'd been forced to suffer during
the last day. Somehow, she knew that she was going to get back to
normal, and once she did... Well, then she would make them all pay.
There were only two good things about Evalynn's situation, or at least
two factors, which made it a little less horrible than it could have
been. Her sister's husband was gone most of the time so she didn't have
to play up to him and call him 'dad' a lot. And of course there was the
fact that it was still summer vacation, so she didn't have to take her
nephew's place at school. She couldn't even imagine having to face
something as horrible as that.
"But I still have to deal with HER," Evalynn grumbled to herself. She
couldn't believe Gayle's attitude, wondering what she could possibly
have to be so smug about.
A moment later, Evalynn was thinking about the dream she had the night
before. It was so strange and realistic that she could almost have
sworn that she'd suddenly woken up in her own body again. However she'd
been so groggy from the sleep that by the time she had started to regain
her composure, she found herself still in Jason's bedroom and body. As
much as Evalynn wished otherwise, it had obviously been her own
subconscious mind giving her the dream she wanted.
"Damn," she muttered to herself, knowing that it would have been too
good to be true if she'd suddenly gone back to normal. However she
hadn't discounted that actually happening just yet so reminded herself
to continue pretending to be Jason. As if she had any other choice.
Evalynn finally finished with the lawn and went back inside, she found
Gayle sitting on the couch watching TV. Though Evalynn was tempted to
just go to Jason's room where she could have some privacy, and avoid her
sister, she decided to take a look and see what was on first. She
watched the screen for a moment, seeing that it was the VH1 music
channel on one of the Behind the Music shows. A moment later, she sat
down on the couch opposite Gayle to watch, wondering if she was going to
see anyone she knew.
It didn't take long before the next episode came on, this time being a
musician whom Evalynn did know. She was slightly pleased at that, even
smiling faintly. Then the TV moved in on his house, making Evalynn
smile even more as she recognized the view. She saw it often enough as
it was the same old rock and roller who lived just next door to
