A balding fat guy with a mustache sat behind the counter, looking at a few rings sitting on the counter. Doug only gave him a glancing look, but then something caught his eye. Reluctantly Kevin and Susan left the pawn shop, wondering what to do next. Kevin thought it was too much to hope that both rings would be together. He'd hid one ring, and it vanished from where he'd hidden it. His Mom had kept the other ring in his old room, but it disappeared as well. They had no idea where either of the rings had disappeared to, so the return of one of the rings was almost a miracle. They weren't sure what to do next, but both of them had a lot to think about.
