Hypothesis is a long word for a seven grader, but Jim wasn't at
the age of fourteen a typical seven grader nor a typical student,
he was a bully, a kid who was for the second time in the grade
because the first time he was never in the class but outside in
the halls of his school.
Jim was neither a retarded nor a dumb, he was smarter than the
average, and he thought that money was even more important than
studies. That's why Jim was the most successful kid in School,
almost a gangster.
He had a part in every pocket of the nerdish seven graders, his
peers; he got their money in almost every legal or illegal way
that he could device.
And again in the seventh grade at the beginning of the school
year he had the chance to get the eight grade and the new seventh
grade.
But that was only a hypothesis.
Mrs. Mardusky was a lady of around forty five, had a black jet
hair very long and always wearing long skirts with a scarf and
long dangling necklaces and hearings.
She was a wiccan, if you had a look at her you would say that she
was there to read playing cards and tell you about your future
than to be a teacher.
She was the new teacher for Jim.
But Jim was not interested he was trying to be in the corridor
again before the bell ring, he had a business and a reputation to
protect, and he will do that.
He rose from his chair and calm walked to the door, but Mrs.
Mardusky caught him by the arm.
"Sit Jim. Please." she said politely but Jim answered her with a
word that was not very nice, "You will sit James, now or you will
not sit for very long in the seven grade of this school, I
guarantee you that."
But Jim, freeing himself from Mrs. Mardusky reach, ran to the
door as fast as he could, scared that he had seen a strange fire
on the eyes of his teacher.
The periods went on and by the end of the school day Jim was
counting on his earnings, product of his bullying when suddenly
he felt the grab of Mrs. Mardusky hand.
"You terrible boy, you had desecrated your human condition by
becoming a criminal, robbing money from the kids and coming to
school only to shield yourself from the real law, I should turn
you into a monkey and throw you in a cage for anyone to see you
and have a great laugh at you, but I will give you a second
chance, run Jim run to your home, and be there before four o'
clock or you will become a delicate girl, your name will be Jane
and you will be in the third grade, a beautiful kid that her Mom
is delighted to have wear in the most feminine clothes and
practice Ballet and Piano. Run Jim or find yourself wearing
panties, frilly frocks, petticoats and Marijanes shoes, Run!"
The eyes of his teacher were almost in fire as she pronounced
this words, Jim was frightened and couldn't move, almost static
he had a good look at his watch, it was three thirty.
So he started to run, on the streets everyone who knew him had a
good laugh as Jim pants were soaked with pee, "Run Jim Run!" the
people shouted at him believing that he was running to find a
place to relieve himself.
Jim Had a look at his wrist watch again, but he didn't recognize
the Minnie Mouse pink watch, 3:45 and Jim was running faster, his
nails were pink and he closed his hands to avoid looking at them,
3:50 and Jim was only 3 blocks from home, his hair was falling on
his face and he fell on the floor.
He had pink tights, and some funny looking shoes. What happened
to you little girl one lady said and assisted him to be on his
feet again, his hair was a mess but the only thing that he could
see was the pink plaited skirt that he was wearing.
Please leave me alone he said in a squeal, Oh Little Brat the
lady said looking the little girl that was running like a demon
with a Powder Puff girl's bag with books.
I must reach home, I must reach home, Jim was saying unnoticing
the high pitch voice or the cute lisp I must reach home, I must
reach home, Jim's blouse was white silk and the trainer Bra was
adjusting to his chest.
I must reach home, he said for the last time raising the sleeve
of her pink sweater only to see that Minnie's hands were on the
four o' clock.
Jane entered the living room of the house sweating, and breathing
heavily and her mother picked her ear to tell her that it was
useless to avoid her on the exit of her school. She was going to
ballet class right away.
Jane noticed that below the blouse she was wearing a black
leotard and that she had the pink tights on for ballet lessons.
A tear formed on her eye, and she bit her lip with pink gloss.
On the other side of the town Mrs. Mardusky looking on a crystal
ball, said this words:
See you in the seventh grade, Jane. See you in the seventh grade.
