"NOW GET OUT OF MY OFFICE!" yelled a fat looking man at Mike.
This fat looking man was Mike's boss, and he had always had it in for
Mike, ever since he was hired at the company three years ago. It was
mainly because he spilt some coffee on the boss' papers when he was
newly employed, but now, the boss had a valid reason to punish him. And
yes, making him unemployed did seem a bit harsh, but this boss was very
powerful and gets his own way. On the way out of the office, Mike
muttered something about lard.
Mike went back to his desk, where he started throwing books from his
drawers into a box, muttering all the time. While he was doing this,
about three people actually rubbed being fired in his face. Mike wasn't
exactly the attractive sort. He had square glasses that he had had
since he was about 4 and wiry black hair. He had always had bad skin
and he tried too hard to be people's friends so they became uneasy and
uncomfortable around him. He was so lonely; he was even contemplating
suicide soon.
He shut down his PC and grabbed his box of belongings. The lift was out
of service today, so he had to take the stairs. Upon opening the exit
door, Mike spilled all the contents of his box into a puddle where they
were surely ruined. His glasses also fell off his face and a passer-by
trod on them. Mike didn't even bother to complain, he just stood
looking at the sky as the rain came down on his face. He packed up his
now ruined belongings for the second time, and threw them into the back
seat of his car. He got in the drivers seat, and turned the keys.
Nothing. The engine wouldn't start, even after the 10th time of trying.
Mike stormed out of his car, and slammed the door shut and locked it.
Mike stood on the side of the road and called for a cab.
"Yeah, take me to the shopping centre please." said Mike sharply as he
got in the car.
"Sure thing." replied the driver and he pulled back out into the run of
traffic. Mike needed to go to the shopping centre to buy some food for
this evening's meal and some more stuff now that he had lost all his
stuff from work. The journey took around five minutes, and then the
driver pulled up outside the doors to a really big building.
"That's 7.50 please sir." said the driver, reaching out the window.
Mike felt around for his wallet, and realised he had left it in the
back of his car.
"Oh shit. My wallet's in my car. Erm... can I pay you back sometime?
What's your name?"
"Not likely man. How's about you give me something right now..."
replied the driver, now in a bit of a mood. The driver seemed to be
rather big, so Mike didn't really want any trouble. The only thing that
he could give to the driver right now was:
"Here. Take my watch." And he practically threw it at the driver who
soon sped off. Mike entered the shop, and decided to get a cup of
coffee before starting on the rounds. He would have to put them on the
credit card as well, which was never good. As you can probably tell,
Mike was having a bad day.
He sat over a cup of coffee for nearly 15 minutes before his attention
was drawn to a shop across the shopping centre. 'Spells R Us', read the
shoddy sign above the shop. He finished off his coffee in a mouthful,
and grabbed his coat. He had never seen this shop before, he could have
sworn it used to be a record shop.
"Oh well." shrugged Mike and he walked toward the shop.
A sweet bell rang as he entered the shop. There was no-one else in the
single roomed shop, so he started looking around at the stuff on
display. One thing caught his eye; 'Ring of Wishes', was engraved on a
wooden box. He picked it up off the shelf. A voice from behind him made
him jump and spin around.
"Something caught your eye Mike?"
Behind him, was a man in a long robe with his hands neatly in side
pockets. He looked like the sort of man who was at peace with the
world, if you know what I mean.
"Erm... I guess this thing immediately jumped out at me if I was
honest. What is it?" Inquired Mike.
"That, my friend, is the 'Ring of Wishes' as I'm sure you can read.
You've had a pretty tough day haven't you Mike?" Mike laughed.
"You could say that, yeah. I lost my job, my cars got to go in to
service, my wallet is probably lost and I have to get home somehow
later."
"Sounds like you could do with a bit of a hand then!" said the
shopkeep. It wasn't as if he didn't know everything about Mike. "How
about, you take that 'Ring of Wishes'? You place the ring on your
finger, and then it will grant you one wish. Let's say it's on the
house."
"Oh, thanks...but I dunno..."
"Take it. It's free, what's the worst that could happen?" Smiled the
shopkeep slyly. "Oh, and because I'm feeling generous, I'll whisk you
back to your home right now, with all the shopping done and everything.
And your car will be in the drive, working! Not a word, I insist."
Mike just looked at the wizard who muttered some words under his
breath, then suddenly he was standing in his own living room with bags
of shopping on the table. He ran to the window and looked out to see
his car in the drive. It had even been through the car wash!
"Wow... I'll be sure to visit that shop again."
Mike went over to the table to inspect the shopping and he noticed the
engraved box sitting beside it. The words burned out to him. He grabbed
the box, and took it over to his sofa where he sat and thought about
his life and what he could wish for. One wish is quite easily ruined,
he thought to himself. And he was quite determined not to mess this up.
The guy had fixed his car, done his shopping. So there were simple
things out the way.
"I know!" he said, and he whipped out the ring from the box and slid it
onto his finger. Immediately, a blue smoke erupted from the ring, and
formed a beautiful woman standing in front of him dressed in expensive,
revealing clothes.
"Right, hi. I am the keeper of this wish ring, blah blah. You have one
wish, and that is it. Once the wish is gone, the ring will go back to
the shop where you found it to bring more people eternal happiness,
yatter yatter yatter. What is it that you wish for?" Said the woman
extremely fast and impatiently.
"Oh... Erm... okay. I wish, that I would be the most attractive person
in the world and that I would have a great job which makes me loads of
money." Said Mike, carefully.
"Ohhh. Nearly fringing on two wishes, but okay. Whatever takes your
fancy hun!"
And with that the genie did some movements with her hands, and then the
room vanished. Mike's vision went totally white for a while, and then
the world came back to him.
He was sitting on a couch with a black floor and drop back behind him.
Someone turned on a huge fan beside him, and he could feel the wind
rustling through his hair as he moved his head. Soon, he felt really
cold because of the fan, and then it hit him. He was barely wearing
anything! He stared down at his body, and saw that he had the body of a
woman! He had large, round breasts sticking out of his chest that were
currently being held back by a Union Jack bra! He had tanned skin, and
a flat thin stomach. He was wearing a blue thong piece, and he didn't
even want to think about what was down there, even though he could
clearly feel that he didn't have a dick anymore just from sitting
there.
"Okay love. Just turn your head a bit away from the camera. That's
great, (click, flash) that's great, yeah (click click)."
It seems that Mike's new life was that as a cover girl, or something!
He cursed under his breath when he realised the stupidity of his one
wish. The most attractive person in the world was obviously going to be
a woman, and she would probably work satisfying men!
Somewhere, a wizard in robes laughed as he stared into a sight seeing
mystical ball.
