The lawyer looked at him sternly and told him that if he was not available to accept it, it was to be destroyed. "Read what's in the envelope when you get home - don't put the ring on until you've read what's in the note," the lawyer said smugly. He closed his briefcase and followed Tommy out of his office. Tommy slipped the ring box into his pocket and the envelope into the other and sat down for a minute to kill some of the nervousness that the lawyer had put him into. Tommy had most things a guy could want in life, decently rich parents, enough smarts to get him through high school and so far through a year of university - and good enough looks to get some pretty hot girls over the years. He unsealed the envelope and unfolded the paper. The first document was one of ownership and insurance, the following one was in his uncle's handwriting. No one else knows about the ring's powers unless you yourself tell them, and even if they do know, their wishing might remove their memory of the event. The ring's limitations in power more or less stops at killing people, changing events that already happened causing people to no longer exist or causing the death or people, so not to worry. My death would not have been caused by the ring and you wont cause the deaths of others for the same reasons. However, the next two days would be ruined; his parents were out at a social event a state over, and Tommy was placed in charge of babysitting his sister.
