"Damn, look at all that lost business," Tony said as he looked out of his

"Yeah, well I haven't heard about it. Why aren't they doing it now?" Tony
asked.
"It caused such an uproar that Congress stepped in and passed some laws
prohibiting it without consent or something like that. Anyway, no one has
tried that since then. Besides, I was just making a joke. How would you
use it to get customers?" He went back to thumbing through the magazine.
"Yeah, you're right. Hey, I'm gonna take a walk. Keep an eye on things
for me?"
Tom grunted as Tony left the office.
When Tony entered the mall he had to dodge the stream of people filling
the corridor from shop to shop. Groups of girls giggled as they skirted

"I make it a point to know my fellow shopkeepers. Having a bit of a
slowdown?" the man asked as he looked for something beneath the counter.

Ah, here it is!"
The wizard pulled out a CD and waved it under Tony's nose. "This will
draw the customers like flies to honey."
"What is it?" Tony asked, a frown on his face.
"Why it's the answer to your customer problem."
Tony scrutinized the disk. It looked just like any other music CD. "How
is this going to increase my clientele?"
"Magically, of course."
Tony snorted. "Magic? Right!"
"It's completely guaranteed. If it doesn't work, just bring it back for a
full refund. What do you have to lose?" asked the wizard.
Tony thought the old man was bats but with an ironclad guarantee under
his belt, he handed over the $100 and walked out of the store.
"Guaranteed if you can find me again, that is," the wizard chuckled under
his breath as he headed to the back room.
Tony kept flipping the disk in his hands. At this point he was willing to
try anything. He didn't notice the small disclaimer on the back-"Warning
could cause permanent changes. Use only sparingly." Tom was still looking
at the pictures in his magazine when Tony gave him the CD.
"Put this in the stereo, will ya?"
The CD began to play but they couldn't hear it in the office. Tony opened
the door to hear the opening verses of Cyndi Lauper's "Girls just want to
have fun" playing. He was disappointed. This was going to increase his

Some customers entered the store and drifted back to the racks of
