When my doorbell rang I hurried to answer. There was Suzy, wearing a

With that Suzy finished her coffee and prepared to leave.
"I'll run home and shower. Why don't you pick me up around 10:00? We
can pop right over to Felicia's and find you some work clothes."

I decided to make a list of things to buy today. There were so many

scarves, a watch, a purse or two and perhaps even a second coat. I also
wanted to talk with Felicia about what to wear in the rain. I didn't
want my hair to get wet but had no clue about hats.
It was time to leave so I put on my coat, got my purse and went to my
car. Driving to the ATM I noticed how easily I had adjusted to driving
in heels. It was actually easier than in flat shoes. I was thoroughly
enjoying being out and about as Carolyn. The initial thrill of walking
outside, hearing my heels clicking on the cement and feeling the air on
my legs never seemed to abate.
After reloading with cash for the day I was off to pick up Suzy. She
was waiting for me, looking simply adorable in a silk blouse and camel

if I drop by and review it this afternoon?"
"That would be perfect. I'll be here until 4:00 today."
I hung up and grinned at the girls.
"Looks like I'm going to be one of the gals for awhile. Let's get
shopping!"
I told Felicia that I had questions about items that women carry. I
didn't want to forget about something to protect me in the rain.
She took me to an area with many hats. She suggested I try on a few
broad billed hats that would protect me without being ruined if they got
wet. We picked out three cute hats: blue, black and red. Suzy told me
that as long as I had my brush with me I should be able to fix my hair
quickly if I had to dash in from the rain wearing a hat.
We also looked at raincoats. I picked out a light blue one with a big
collar and a belt. As I tried it on I understood the design. I could
put up the collar and tighten the belt and protect any outfit. I
purchased it on the spot.
Finally, for rain Felicia took me to the shoe section where I tried on
some boots. Oh my, did they feel glorious. All had 3 inch heels except
one pair with a 4 inch. I picked out the 4 inch, of course. They were
black, with a design along the side zipper.
"You'll be surprised at how much you'll like wearing these. Some ladies
keep a pair of shoes at work in case of rain and simply change out of
the boots when they get to work. Others like wearing them all day.
You'll come to know your preference."
I admitted I liked the feel of the leather on my hose. However, for
some reason they didn't seem quite as sexy as pumps. I knew I'd need
them so I was glad to have them in my growing shoe collection.
We went to the business suit area. I tried on a periwinkle blue three
piece suit. The jacket was a center zip with elaborate sequin and
crystal trim. The tank top and skirt matched perfectly. The skirt had
a side zip with a hook closure. It fit like a dream.
Then I tried a burgundy suit. The jacket had a 4 button front with
notched lapels. It came with a slimming straight cut skirt with a back
zip and a hook closure. It had a provocative slit in the back.
Next was a red suit that was stunning. The red jacket had a large
collar with black beading and embroidery. There were gold buttons on
the front and sleeves. The skirt had a back zip with a hook closure.
The whole suit was linen and fully lined. I just loved it.
Finally Felicia brought me a beautiful while suit with subtle black pin
stripes. The jacket had two flap pockets and closed with a single black
button. It was fully lined with shoulder pads. The skirt had a trumpet
flair hem, a side zip with a hook closure. It too was fully lined.
"Of Felicia," I exclaimed. "How does a woman decide? I know I can't.
I must have all four!"
We laughed and went back to the shoe area where I picked out some
matching heels for each suit. I had some close matches at home but knew
I wanted a pair just for each of these knockout suits. Felicia took me
to an accessory area where I selected three new purses. I was pleased
to find colors that either matched or complemented my new outfits. I
knew they would each work with at least one outfit I had at home.
I also selected a number of scarves and remembered I didn't have a
woman's watch. Felicia took me to the jewelry section and I picked out
two: one for everyday and a delightful evening watch with a rhinestone
band.
I thanked both of my girlfriends for being so patient with me. I had
such fun trying on my new clothes and knew that I was indulging myself.
"Oh Carolyn, don't be silly. This is my job and frankly, I usually
don't see my customers enjoying themselves as much as you have today.
Also, you've run up quite a tab. Aside from having fun with you, this
has been a profitable morning for me."
I invited them to lunch but it was too early for Felicia. We agreed to
connect for a night at her house for dinner soon.
As Suzy and I left, she stood at the door and kissed our checks. I

Suzy and I had lunch and then it was nearly time for me to head over to

On the way to her house, Suzy suggested I come to her Mary Kay meeting
that evening.

We agreed on the time as I dropped her off. For fun, I walked her to
