I arrived home entirely energized from the day, both what I had done and
what lay ahead. I decided to take a quick shower before dressing to meet
Harry and review his offer. I just used a scented body wash and toweled

lipstick that matched my nails which were still a dark red. I resolved
to have a manicure in the morning if Cindy could take me.
It was time for my new suit. I put on the skirt, zipped up the side and
fastened the clasp.
I sat down and opened a box of new shoes. They were black t-straps with

I put them on and, you guessed it, went to the mirror. Without the
jacket I loved the look of the camisole and skirt. The shoes were a
knockout!
I went to my jewelry drawer and selected a simple gold chain with a
matching bracelet. It was understated and quite professional. I wore my
black onyx ring and a gold band with a small red stone in it for accent.
I selected a cute set of earrings that had three strands of woven gold,
not real of course, that hung about two inches from my ears. At the end
of each strand was a small gold ball.
I put on the jacket and went back to the mirror. The jacket was stunning
with a single large black button that exposed a good amount of the cami.
With the jewelry the look was stylish but quite businesslike. I was
pleased as I preened for myself.
I decided to switch purses and selected one that was black leather and
had a strap to sling over my shoulder if I wished. Felicia had told me
it was a replica of a Coach purse that was quite popular. I loaded
everything in and was pleasantly surprised to see it had a pocket for my

I drove to Harry's and carefully got out of my car. As always, I paid
attention to the sound of my heels on the cement and the delightful swish

to see Harry.
When I entered the club he was waiting for me at the bar. He hopped off
his stool and came to take my coat.
"My goodness, Carolyn, you look absolutely stunning! What a gorgeous
suit. I certainly hope you've come to accept the job."
"Why thank you, Harry darling, I'm so glad you like it. I bought it
today along with three others. I'm stocking up on business clothes
because, yes, I intend to accept your offer. I am looking forward to
this project and know I'm the woman for the job."
We went into his office. It invoked warm memories and we looked at each
other briefly.
"I'm sorry we can't be together, Harry. I certainly agree wholeheartedly
that a man and a woman should not be in an intimate relationship if
they're working together. That doesn't make it any easier to keep my
hands off of you!"
I smiled as I said this because I didn't want him to read too much into
it. Indeed I would have loved to be kissing him frantically but knew
that would be totally inappropriate.
"I know, my dear. I feel the same way. I want to thank you again for
being strong last night. As you described your fantasy over our after
dinner drinks, I became quite aroused. If you had wavered at the door, I
would have gladly taken you to bed. I desperately wanted you when I
left."
"In the long run," he continued, "I am confident we've made the right
choice. I am very pleased that you're going to work with me on the CC's
project. You are the perfect woman for the job and I'm going to be
relying on your judgment throughout the process."
With that he presented me the written offer. It didn't take but a minute
to read it and agree with the terms. They were exactly as he had
outlined the night before. I wasn't surprised. Harry struck me as a
shrewd businessman who would not try to sneak any changes into the
letter.
"One more thing, Carolyn," he interjected. "I think you've been
wonderful in spending so much of your money building your wardrobe to
manage CC's for me. I have a signing bonus for you and insist you accept
it. It is a business expense, Carolyn, nothing more."
With that he presented me with a check for $8,000. Wow, a girl could buy
a lot of shoes with that I thought with a grin.
"Oh Harry, you are so generous. Here, let me sign the letter and we'll
have a deal."
With that I signed his document. I know it was just a formality but I
liked the professional touch. It was yet another sign that working for
Harry would be a great experience. I was looking forward to being a very
successful woman and to making him proud to have hired me.
"Wonderful, Carolyn," said Harry. He stood up and offered me his hand.
I rose; we shook hands, smiling at each other. "Let's celebrate with a
drink at the bar. I have a few things to talk over with you."
We went into the club and sat on bar stools. I carefully crossed my
legs, showing off my t-straps and sheer stockings. I didn't let my skirt
ride up too far but did expose some knee. Harry asked if he could smoke
and I agreed to have a cigarette with him. I retrieved my pack of
Virginia Slims from my purse. Harry lit it for me and we ordered our
drinks.

selected the site of CC's and am going to sign the papers in about an
hour. Tomorrow around 10:00 I'd like to meet you and give you a tour.
I'd like to begin planning the renovations at once so we can open before
summer is over."
"Oh Harry, how wonderful for you! Of course I'll meet you. I can't wait
to see what you have selected. I have some ideas but I'm sure they're
pretty academic compared to what you're planning."
"Really?" he responded. "Please tell me what you've come up with so
quickly."
"Come now, my dear. You must know I've been thinking about this since
you told me about your plan. This may sound silly but here goes."
"I thought that we should install three rest rooms on both floors: men's,
ladies' and gurl's." I spelled that latter for him. "You see, it
technically isn't legal for a man dressed as a woman to use the ladies'
room. At the same time, I know how I would feel going into a men's room
dressed like this. It just seems that we should cater to our special
clientele and this strikes me as a very thoughtful touch."
"I envision the gurl's rooms to be spacious and feminine. They should be
places where our patrons can pamper themselves, primp and probably gossip
a bit. Personally, I would love to have a proper place to fix my hair
and makeup. What do you think?"
Harry was impressed. He hadn't considered that and realized how valuable
my input would be in the days to come. I admit I was proud of myself. I
felt like I had already contributed to our project!
"Carolyn, this arrangement is going to work out just as well as I had
hoped. I knew as we talked about the project last night that you were
the woman I needed to add the special touches I would never consider."
We clicked our glasses and toasted our new relationship. I felt like a
partner with Harry and, although I knew that wasn't technically the case,
was very excited about the future of CC's.
Harry had to leave to sign his papers. I put out my cigarette, smiling
at the lipstick on the filter, and stood up.
"May I use the bathroom in your office please? I need to freshen up
before I go."
"You know what, my dear - no one is here yet, why not use the ladies'
room. You can get a feel for how it is set up."
"Great! I'll be right back. Just give me two minutes."
I went into the ladies' room and was surprised at how it was laid out.
There was so much room! I went to the mirror and fussed with my hair. I
touched up my lipstick and spritzed perfume lightly. As I looking into
the mirror I was struck with the significance of what had happened. I
was now committed to being Carolyn for the long haul.
I assessed the decision and realized that I was entirely thrilled with
the prospect. I couldn't wait for tomorrow to see CC's location!
I came out and let Harry help me with my coat. We walked to my car, and
I ran my arm through his.
"You know, Carolyn, I expect to treat you as a lady as long as we're
working together. I'm glad you're letting me give you my arm. I would
do this for any woman and certainly you should be no exception."
I smiled sweetly at him. I did like Harry and now that the romance was
clearly gone I realized that he had the potential to be a great friend
and mentor.
He opened my car door for me and I demurely slid behind the wheel.
"Meet me here at 10:00 tomorrow, ok?"
"I'll be here Harry. Thank you!"
Since I had decided to go to the Mary Kay party I thought I'd just pop
over to Felicia's to kill some time. I always looked forward to seeing
her.
"Carolyn! How wonderful that suit looks on you - and the shoes. You look
quite the professional woman today!"
"Thank you, Felicia. I just thought I'd drop in for a few minutes. I
want to tell you that I did accept Harry's offer. I think this will be
an exciting venture and hope that you'll visit me at CC's when we open.
Harry is signing the paperwork on the property today and I'm going to see
it in the morning."
We chatted like magpies for awhile as the store wasn't busy. I told her
how much I was looking forward to our dinner together and asked her if I
could bring a bottle of wine.
She accepted that offer without a pause.
As we talked I browsed through the store. I stopped in the coat
department and looked at a beautiful faux fox fur.
"Try it on, dear. I think the size is close."
Of course I did and it was heavenly! It was long, about mid-calf and
ooh so soft. I simply had to have it! The price was reasonable but I
didn't have enough cash with me.
"I think it's time Carolyn open an account here," offered Felicia. "I
know I can trust you and you certainly are a super customer."
I agreed. We stopped at the accessories aisle and I found a wonderful
pair of tan leather gloves that matched my new coat. I also picked out a
black pair. I wasn't sure I would like wearing them as I often enjoyed

Felicia assured me that no woman would be without gloves for a cold day.

In the shoe department I picked out a pair of red platform heels. As I

can't wait for Saturday!"

I was elated. I knew Suzy would understand since we've talked about
other people already. I could hardly believe my luck.
"Why don't you change before you leave, honey? I think you're a bit over
the top for a Mary Kay party!"
"Felicia, if you don't mind, may I wear this home? I was going to change
for the party anyway and I really love the feel of this garment. I
promise to keep my coat pulled tightly so I don't offend anyone on my way
home."
She laughed. "Offend anyone? Girl, you'll stop traffic. Certainly,
wear it home. I'll bag your things and you can add this to your charge."
With a demure kissing of cheeks we parted at the door. I decided to wear
my new fur - I just adored the softness around my neck. Underneath I
felt so tingly with my cleavage so exposed. I wondered when I would have
a chance to show off this look.
Arriving home, I quickly unpacked and stripped for a shower. As always,

I selected a cute necklace consisting of a series of circles in various
shades and sizes. The colors were gold and bronze. It was quite

It was time to go so I put on my fox coat. I knew Suzy would like that

and have a clue that there was a man camouflaged under all this finery.
Getting into my car, I began the drive to Suzy's house. I stopped for
gas, paying at the pump and smiled with a man filling up at the pump
across from me. It seemed so natural and that, of course, was heavenly!
It was such a gorgeous evening I thought I might stop at the park for a
few minutes. It would be nice to sit outside and have a cigarette. I
realized I didn't have a lighter so I went in to the station and
purchased one.
"That will be $1.79 Ma'am", said the attendant. I reached into my purse
for the cash and smiled inwardly. Ma'am sounded very good to this girl!
I drove to the park and sat at a bench overlooking a playing field. I
began to reflect on my new life. I thought back to my night at the club
when I met Harry and remembered how it felt to be kissed by him and to
