Chapter 25
I awoke to the music of the alarm again. I stretched and wiggled my
toes, taking in all the softness that was my wonderful bed. I loved
the feel of the bra still on me and the weight of my breasts. The
softness of the nightie on my skin and the panties I knew I still wore.
I closed my eyes and pretended to still be asleep, waiting for Lidia's
arrival. Less than a minute went by and she quietly entered the room.
I listened for her to rush the bed. A half second later I sprang to
life, throwing up my hands like claws and making a scary face. I
caught her in mid air as she squeaked in surprise. Landing on top of
me and bursting into a fit of the giggles.
"That's not very nice," she said rolling off me and still giggling.
"Oh and ambushing me in my bed is?" I replied giggling myself.
"I am just trying to brighten your day," she replied mischievously.
"What, instantly?" I grinned back as I threw the covers off and made
my way to the dresser.
"Well of course!" She feigned innocence.
I opened the drawers and retrieved a nude bra and panties for the day.
Then I opened the closet and removed my nightie putting it in the
hamper. I stood there with the closet door open and considered which
dress to wear today.
"hmm, how about mint green today?" I asked.
I heard the crack and felt the sting of her hand on my panty cover ass,
just as she said. "Ok!"
I jumped and squeaked a little in a mixture of surprise and pain. I
whirled around to Lidia holding my robe towards me. It was then that I
realized I was standing in only my panties and bra. My face flushed to
a good crimson I am sure and I quickly snatched the robe out of her
hands, wrapping it around myself.
"Oh yours isn't the first panty covered hinny I have seen and I am sure
it won't be the last," she said chuckling at my embarrassment.
"Mint green sounds fine and how about the sling back heels?" she
inquired as if nothing was wrong.
"That sounds fine to me," I replied setting the heels out next to the
bed, keeping one eye on her.
"Alright lets grab your beauty stuff, get you your shower and then I
will head off to change once you are back here," she said smiling as
she opened the door.
Down the hall we went, she held my hand and patted it to let me know
she was just being her mischievous self. So I relaxed and went through
my shower routine of strawberries and cr?me scents. Standard shaving
requirements and oral hygiene were covered as well. All this amid a
shower room full of half naked attractive young women, yeah no problems
there. That is actually when I felt my first real arousal problem. I
thought maybe my couple of days without sex was causing me to react to
my surroundings. Perhaps I was just overly self conscious, because no
one seemed to notice. But I definitely felt a stirring in my panties
and a distinctive pull in the front. My robe covered it well, but I
was aware it could cause a real problem if it happened at the wrong
time. So I tired to think of things that would calm me down, bad
tasting food, dead puppies, Ms Sherrim make out sessions. The last one
was the cure all apparently.
After my morning routine I was escorted back to my room and Lidia
headed off once again to get dressed. I proceeded to get dressed
myself. I took the robe off and hung it on the back of the entry door.
Then carefully retrieving the mint green and black dress from the
closet, placing the hanger back on the bar. I was wearing my nude
panties and bra, with my breast forms already in. My now constant
companions, I was getting used to wearing them. I slid the dress over
my head and wiggled the rest of the way into it. Adjusted the fit and
readjusting my breasts in the full length mirror. I fished a pair of
suntan pantyhose out of the drawer. Making sure to straighten them
out, before pulling them up each leg, to finish snuggly around my
waist. I sat down at the makeup chair and put on my sling back heels
before pulling out all my makeup. Crossing my legs I set about my
task.
Foundation and concealer with powder to set them, started my base. I
lightly applied one color of eye shadow, a beige over my eyelid and
only added just a touch of green at the corner. A more day time look,
something I learned in class. Then on to eyeliner in a thin line,
upper and lower, finishing my eyes with some mascara. Next it was the
neutral lip liner and lip stick, a light peach blush to contour my face
was the final touch. I put the lipstick, lip liner and some powder in
my black clutch placing it on the desk. Putting the rest of my makeup
away, I got out a brush. Then retrieving the wig from the back of the
closet door, I proceeded with the process of combing it out and setting
it on my head. Repeating the combing process once it was in place in
the full length mirror. I fished out some small silver hoops out of my
makeup bag and a silver watch that I had forgotten was in there with
the silver hoops. I put all of them on and set my watch with the alarm
clock. I generally picked at my clothes and hair while I waited for
Lidia to arrive.
A few minutes later a knock came at the door, it was Lidia dressed and
ready for our new day. I grabbed my books and my clutch as we headed
off to our first class, English, yawn.
Chapter 26
"In the year and a half you have been working for me you have never
called me while I was away Ms Dunterbaum. So I know your not calling
just to check on how I am doing. What is going on?" asked a rather
concerned Ann Mercer from the laptops speakers.
"You are right of course, so I will just come out with it. There has
been a-" she paused as she searched for the right word. "Complication
I guess is the best way to put it, concerning the couple you recently
hired," replied Deanna into the microphone.
Ann let out a small sigh. "Go on Ms Dunterbaum."
"Ms Sherrim decided to make one of her unannounced stops and of course
she ran into the male working the grounds," continued Deanna.
Ann let out an exasperated huff. "I thought she was supposed to be out
west at a fund raiser I had arranged for her. I knew I shouldn't have
mentioned my time away. Well did you have to dismiss them both or were
you at least able to retain Kelly?" Ann inquired.
"I was able to keep Kelly on at her current position. However
retaining Brian's services ran into some rather unique complications,"
replied a nervous Deanna.
"Complicated? How so?" asked an intrigued Ann.
Deanna went on to recount the entire encounter between Ms Sherrim and
Brian. What she had done to patch things in the mean time. Taking
responsibility for her and Lidia's prank and then relaying Ms Sherrim's
further instructions for Brian or Bridget as it were. How the plan had
gotten further out of hand with Ms Sherrims announcement of an extended
stay.
Ann was silent for a moment, which made Deanna more nervous. Then Ann
started to softly laugh.
"I can say that was certainly one way to solve the problem, quick
thinking on your part. Leave it to Katrianna Sherrim though to throw a
wrench into any plan," Ann said still laughing slightly.
"She certainly did. The question is what do you think is the best
course of action now? I can pull Bridget out, but she, I mean he,
Brian that is, cannot come back to simply being a worker," Deanna
conveyed.
Ann was silent for a moment again.
"Tell me a few things first. How is Brian handling all of this?" asked
a curious Ann.
"As far as I know she, I mean he is in seventh heaven. I have
basically asked him to live out a dream. He has however taken
everything to heart as far as I can tell and with seriousness. His
make up, clothes and studies he approaches as if he were really a
student," replied Deanna.
"I see, how about psychologically?" Ann further inquired.
"Ann, the last time I saw him, if I didn't know he was a male. I would
say he was one of our break out girls. It might be early to call her
that but I would definitely mark her as one to watch," replied Deanna.
"Really, based on what?" Ann continued prodding.
"Her general attitude is bright and cheery, she confided nervousness,
but she was practically giddy. Her make up and attire is worn with
pride. She looks great and for the most part she has done it herself.
She and Lidia have bonded, forming a good friendship. Talking to Lidia
their conversations sound like two good girlfriends hanging out,"
confirmed Deanna.
"Well then he certainly does meet the qualifiers. I find it even more
interesting that you keep referring to him as a she and after only two
days," Ann stated.
"I originally did refer to him as male, but he didn't follow what I
thought a male would be doing given the situation," Deanna continued.
"Running for the hills," chuckled Ann.
"Exactly. Instead he reacts like a female stuck in an uncomfortable
situation. After talking to Kelly I can say he is currently exploring
his female side, quite possibly to the fullest. So it is just easier
to think of him as a female, it's just what your mind sees," confided
Deanna.
"I see, interesting. How is Kelly handling all of this. Obviously she
is aware of his prior cross dressing," asked Ann.
"She has really handled it well. I know she worries about Bridget's
well being, but somehow Bridget has given her strength even in her, or
his situation. They really do love each other. So if Bridget decides
to leave, Kelly is sure to leave as well," stated Deanna.
"What will she do if he does not want to come back from being a woman
full time? Have you been supporting her in the event that this is the
outcome?" asked Ann.
"If Bridget decides to stay as a woman that will not be a problem.
Kelly is bi-sexual, she loves the woman in Brian too, which I am sure
is one of the reasons they have such a strong relationship," Deanna
confirmed.
"I have stayed close to her and tried to be supportive. Which brings
up another complication," confessed Deanna.
"Oh no, Deanna you didn't," Ann asked regretfully.
"I did, I mean we have," Deanna sighed heavily.
"I was honest about my sexual orientation when you hired me and I have
been as good as my word about not getting involved with any of the
students. However two consenting adults can get involved in the
workplace. It happens all the time with heterosexual couples," stated
Deanna rather defensively.
Ann was quiet for a moment again. Before sighing heavily herself.
"This is why you are looking for a different way to solve this. You
don't want them to leave either," replied Ann quietly.
"I have been alone out here for a long time. I finally found a
relationship, even if I have to share her with someone else. Better to
be a part of something than nothing at all," Deanna whispered.
"I will wrap up my work here and be on the road in an hour. You leave
Katrianna Sherrim to me. The other situations we will work out as best
we can. I just hope you don't get hurt Deanna," stated Ann.
"It's a risk we all take," said Deanna.
"I will see you later today Deanna. Be careful," replied a concerned
Ann.
"I will, talk to you then," Deanna said.
The laptop buzzed the call ending and Deanna closed the program. She
leaned back in the desk chair and wondered what the day would bring.
Chapter 27
Padded blue fabric swivel chairs and long thin off white tables covered
in some scratch resistant finish, were laid out in a v formation with a
split down the middle of the pattern. This middle isle way of the room
and the point of the v formation ended at the desk of the professor,
thus the focus of most of the teaching. The rest of the light beige
classroom was clean and well maintained. From the grey overhead
projector and pull down screen, to the black slate chalkboards and the
multi-colored bulletin board by the door. Everything was fresh and new
looking, nothing stale or overly used. This gave the room a sense of
opportunity. An unsaid or implied fresh beginning that I didn't pick
up on till now for some reason.
I sat in the chair and tried to maintain my posture while the professor
taught. It was difficult as it wasn't something I was used to. Not
slouching that is. I could feel my skirt brushing against my hose
covered legs. They were crossed of course, which only made me more
aware of the heels I wore. The straps of the sling back heels were
digging into the back of my own heels. Somehow those straps just made
the heels feel more powerful. Looking at them I didn't think I would
be a fan of the sling backs, but after wearing them, I certainly was
one. I had to smile a little smile to myself at the thought of how I
was dressed, I would forget sometimes while paying attention in class.
Then I would move and catch a glimpse of the mint green top's ruffled
bodice. My hair was a constant reminder as well, as it didn't want to
stay out of my eye. So I had to lightly brush it aside and then I
would see my nails or the shear mint green sleeves and ruffled cuff,
which of course would remind me of all the rest. The one thing that I
did seem to get used to wearing was a bra and breasts. There were lots
of times I didn't even feel the bra. It just felt like a part of me,
or I would forget the feel of it all together. Kind of like not really
being aware of wearing underwear until it bothered you for some reason.
Underwear, panties that is, was also something I was becoming used to.
These revelations caused me to wonder where my life was going. Playing
dress up with the girls so to speak was wonderful and all, but I
started to question what the long term impact would be. Would I pick
up tell tale mannerisms, that I didn't really see, but would be
glaringly obviously to others? Hand gestures, walking posture or any
number of other things I couldn't foresee. One question during my self
examination hung in my mind. Was I losing my male self or gaining the
woman I always wanted to be. My male and female selves' ultimate death
match had to be postponed as Lidia poked me in the hip with her pen.
"Earth to dream girl, your supposed to be paying attention," she
whispered at me.
I bashfully mouthed sorry to an identically dressed Lidia sitting in
the chair next to me. She patted my right hand with her left still
holding her pen and gave me a reassuring smile. Then she kept her eye
on the professor as she smoothed her hands down the sides of her dress,
wiggled her butt in the chair a little and fluffed her ruffled bodice.
After the last part she glanced at me and winked with a mischievous
little smile. Yeah she knew I was thinking about my attire. I dropped
my right hand just below the desk so only she could see and made
pinching fingers at her, all the while watching the professor. I
glanced back at her as she leaned back in her chair slyly pointing with
her pen at the gorgeous blond girl sitting next to her. She then
leaned back up putting her hands on the table casually letting her pen
point right at the beautiful brunette that sat in front of me. I
changed my hidden hand to a peace sign. She casually changed her left
hand to an ok gesture giving me a sideways smile, the stinker.
Two soft chimes from a silver bell hanging over the door indicated the
ending of class. The first time I heard it I thought it was stupid,
but later I realized it fit right in with the refined and more mature
expectations. Ladies didn't require a bell screaming at them to remind
them it was time to leave. Two clear simple chimes were all the
indication that was necessary. I imagined it was also a subconscious
reminder to those who had spent time locked away. No loud bells or
buzzers blaring here, adding to the idea that this was clearly a
different place.
I arose from the chair collecting my things, books, pens, pad of paper
and my clutch as well. About that time Lidia wrapped her arm in my
elbow and turned me around to the waiting beautiful blond.
"Bridget this is Teresa, Teresa this is Bridget," Lidia introduced us.
Teresa was wearing the standard uniform of white blouse, black skirt,
ankles hose and Mary Jane shoes. Her hair was a little longer than
shoulder length, a natural blond with lighter colors in areas exposed
to the light and darker blond underneath. Her eyebrows were a light
golden blond as well. Big bright blue eyes outlined lightly with
mascara and eyeliner, confirmed her Anglo-Saxon decent. She had a
great complexion and a slight tan, so she didn't look like she was
wearing any foundation or eye shadow. A light pink lipstick decorated
her lips, its slight pout added to her attraction and covered a great
smile. She was maybe five nine in her heels with a full set of breasts
and some wide hips. She was still trim, but did not possess the
athletic body that Ms Dunterbaum had.
"It's wonderful to meet you Bridget, you look very pretty today," she
smiled extending her hand in greeting.
"Thank you, it's nice to meet you as well," I tried to reply in my best
girl voice.
I moved my clutch to the books cradled in my left arm and took her
greeting hand. Returning her smile and shaking it lightly. She felt
warm and her smooth skin tender to the touch. I envied her in that one
moment, for something I was sure I would never have. Her one inch
nails were painted the same light pink as her lips. That was when she
noticed my nails.
"Oh your nails are beautiful!" she gushed. Holding my hand and
inspecting them.
"Cheryl's work," Lidia commented smiling to herself and casting a wink
my way.
"She does do an excellent job. I can see you are enjoying our semi-
formal attire Bridget, you really wear it well," she replied
cheerfully, letting go of my hand.
"Thanks again for the complements, but I think you are the one
outshining your uniform," I said in all honesty.
"Aww that's so sweet, thank you," she replied with a warm smile.
"Well we better get going. Care to hang out some time Teresa?" asked
Lidia walking us all out the door.
"Sure thing, I don't currently have any students assigned to me, so I
have a lot of free time. Whenever you girls want to, just come on over
or leave a note if I am not there. I'm still in 219," Teresa said
warmly.
"Great I am sure we will. I am still in my old room and Bridget is in
336. We will catch you later then," Lidia confirmed smiling.
"Ok catch you later. It was nice to me you Bridget, keep looking good
girl." A departing Teresa said.
"It was nice to meet you too, I will try," I answered back warmly.
Lidia and I headed up the hallway as Teresa headed down the other.
Lidia interlocked her arm with mine as we continued on. Our things
cradled in both arms and the sound of our heels clicking in time off
the hardwood floors, we walked in unison. All of the halls were
hardwood floors. I would have thought carpet would be better, but I
supposed it helped to deter people from sneaking about. Not to mention
the psychological reinforcement the sounds of clicking heels added to
your mind. A continual reminder of how you were dressed.
"That wasn't very nice, I thought you agreed to peace," I said slightly
annoyed.
"I did agree to peace, I didn't introduce you to Megan," Lidia replied
a little slyly.
"Truthfully though, you are going to have to learn to handle meeting
beautiful girls here, there are a lot of them. You can't hide forever,
you are too pretty for that. Even if you don't notice them, they will
notice you. Besides social interaction would be something under
observation and not interacting with other girls will get you flagged.
Even if I don't or Ms Dunterbaum doesn't flag you, other professors
observe the students even when they teach. So we can all get an
accurate assessment of their progress. Your social deficiencies would
get you flagged for further review and if Ms Sherrim finds out then
that just gives her another reason to put you under the microscope.
She apparently has it in her mind to fix you and when that lady gets
something in her mind, it gets done," explained Lidia.
"So I had to push you a little. Sorry about that, but you did great!"
Lidia said approvingly.
"Teresa is really nice and you were very polite. You even commented
how great she looked in her uniform which I am sure she appreciates,"
Lidia continued.
"Well I was only being honest," I replied.
"That's fine. Just try not to be too honest, I know what gender you
really are, so you need to screen what you're going to say before it
gets us in trouble," Lidia reminded me.
"Besides we cannot sit in your room all weekend. We are going to have
to do something. Well, girls hang out, so, you will hang out with
other girls. A general rule of thumb is to see how the student reacts
around other mentors. Normally for you this wouldn't be a problem, but
in your case it's a good test to see how you hold up to being a girl
around other very attractive girls. A clear distraction for you, not
that I hold that against you, but it is something that will trip you
up. Besides, you will have to get used to it if you decide to stay
this way," Lidia stated.
"Wait a minute, I didn't say anything about staying this way," I
corrected.
"Oh whatever, you're like a fish afraid of the water. Please. I have
been mentoring girls for awhile now and I can honestly say you are one
of the fastest learners I have had so far. Besides I know how much you
like the clothes and I see you peeking at yourself all the time. It is
clear you really like the new you. Now try telling me you wouldn't be
sad if you went back to boy mode as it were," Lidia chided me.
"That is true, I would be sad, but that doesn't mean I am ready to lose
my male self," I back peddled.
"If being male would make you sad, which part is the real loss?" she
quietly inquired.
"Ok Professor Lidia, what did you do with my mentor, I want her back,"
I teased her, bumping my hip into hers.
"Oh that would be Professor Reynolds miss, and I didn't do anything
with her. I have been going to school to become just that I'll have
you know," Lidia chortled bumping her hip back into mine.
Lidia explained that she went to school most quarters taking classes
and then mentoring odd quarters as an internship. She got schooling
and experience at relatively the same time. About this time we arrived
at Ms Locksby's etiquette class. All the tables were pushed against
the far wall and the chairs were lined up in rows against opposing
walls. Leaving the center of the room clear, this was currently filled
with girls standing about. Lidia froze at the sight of this.
"Shit!" she whispered closing her eyes and untwining our arms.
Lidia opened her eyes back up, turning to me with a slightly pained
apologetic smile on her face.
"There something I forgot to tell you. You have to learn to dance for
the summer formal," she said with the still pained expression.
"I am sure I can learn, that's not really a big deal," I replied
somewhat confused.
"No, but the bad part is girls don't dance with other girls at the
summer formal," Lidia cringed as she waited for me to understand.
"Well then who do they dance with? OH NO." I went wide eyed and shook
my head in defiance.
Chapter 28
"Bridget Honeysett. How did she come up with that last name?" Deanna
asked, looking over Bridget's new completed file.
"She looked it up on the internet, not a fake as you might think, it is
a real last name and someone out there is actually walking around with
it," replied Kelly standing at Deanna's desk.
Kelly wore a red short sleeved sweater dress with an empire waist. The
cowl neck reflected the softness of the dress as it hung lazily. Long
vertical lines accented her curves as they ran from the waist down to a
hem that ended just above her knees. Giving the illusion of pleats and
adding an implied lightness. Her hair was down, its slight waves
covering her earrings. A large bracelet that fashionably hung from her
left wrist and matching red peep toed heels rounded out her great
casual Friday outfit.
Looking at Kelly Deanna smiled to herself. She always thought of
throwing out that dress as she could never wear it herself with her
auburn hair. Now she was very glad she didn't, Kelly really did look
great in it.
Deanna's look had a distinctly different flare, in her charcoal pin
striped skirt suit. Her white blouse underneath had a v neck collar
with flowing trim that just overlapped her jacket lapels. Nude
colored, hose clad legs ended in black heels with white on the tips of
the toes and back of the heels, completing her outfit nicely. The over
all affect was a power suit that was softened up by the blouse and
heels. Her auburn hair was up and pinned into place in a smooth roll
to the back of her head. Small stylish gold hoops adorned her ears,
while her makeup was more obvious than usually. Thicker eyeliner and
mascara complemented her staged green eye shadow. A light foundation
and some blush on her cheekbones softened her already beautiful face.
A look that said all business woman, with an emphasis on woman.
"Well I am going to make a few notations and then put it in with the
new class files," instructed Deanna writing down some notes in the
file.
"All right, I finished going over the inventory report. It looks like
we are on schedule with our next supply shipments. I called and
verified the delivery dates, so we are good there," Kelly reported.
"Excellent one less problem. I need you to take a bunch of mail down
to the post office in town. Megan should have it all together out
front. Just take the company car, here's the key," Deanna instructed,
fishing the key out of her desk.
Deanna stood up and made her way around the desk to hand the key to
Kelly. Kelly held onto Deannas hand after taking the key.
"I was thinking early. What will Bridget do on the weekends? Would it
be possible for us to spend some time together?" Kelly asked.
"Well normally weekends are used to help foster social interaction with
other girls. Building a support base of healthy relationships to help
the girl grow. Lidia and I had discussed this about Bridget the other
day. Deciding to move forward in the normal manor so as to not raise
any suspicions. Ms. Sherrim is of course aware of our normal
procedures as well, so I thought it best to keep up appearances. This
means that Bridget will be spending her weekends hanging out with other
girls in the recreation room or doing whatever activities Lidia
arranges. I am sure some excuse could be made up from time to time to
allow you two to spend some time alone. While you are gone I will make
arrangements for Lidia and Bridget to come over to the apartment
tomorrow," Deanna elaborated.
"That would be really nice," Kelly replied smiling and squeezing
Deannas hand.
"I know you miss her and I am sure she misses you terribly," Deanna
confirmed returning Kelly's squeezing hand.
"I do and thank you baby," Kelly said placing a small kiss on Deannas
lips.
"Your welcome dear, just be mindful of who might be around when you
kiss me, we don't want to start any more drama than we already have.
Now you better get going, so you can get back for dinner," Deanna said
returning Kelly's kiss.
Kelly headed out of Deannas office passing through her own to the front
desk. Megan showed her the basket of mail and helped Kelly get it into
the car. Soon Kelly was on her way.
Chapter 29
My left hand daintily dangled from her right hands firm grip, while my
right arm rested on her shoulder. Her left hand was placed
respectfully on my waist and easily guided me around the room. It felt
wired dancing with Ms Locksby but she was clearly very adept at it.
"Float girl, remember light on your feet you are not a bull. Lean and
sway a little into the turns. That's better," Ms Locksy instructed.
I cringed a bit at the bull comment, technically I was one. I just
tried to follow her lead and do the best I could. Dancing had never
been my forte and I was pretty sure it wasn't going to be any time
soon. I concentrated on staying upright in my heels, which I didn't
seem to be having as many problems as some girls, my agility was paying
off.
Truth be told, I was still upset and distracted at the thought of
having to dance with a guy. I don't know why it didn't occur to me
earlier to ask, maybe it was my lack of experience with formal events
of any type. Lidia explained it was more of a formal dinner with a
date and dancing would be on the menu. It was a chance for girls to
learn what it was like to interact with a guy properly in a social
setting. That and every girl loved the excuse to get dressed up and be
swooned over by some guy. All par for the girly course apparently.
The guys came from a similar college that was also run by the same
group that Ms Sherrim headed. Of course the college was over four
hours away, but the same situation existed there as did here. The only
difference was that it was for boys instead of girls. This didn't ease
my worries any though.
So after a few moments Ms Locksby and I finished our dance. She
commented I wasn't the worst she had seen, something she seemed to keep
saying when she referred to me. However I was sure to improve in the
coming weeks, in plenty of time for summer formal. Lidia danced only
once and it was clear why she did. She was great at it. She and Ms.
Locksby zipped around the room with no problem at all, even adding a
flourish at the end, to the cheers from all us girls. Several other
girls met the same difficulties that I had so I didn't feel so bad
then. The rest of the class was pretty much the same and Lidia and I
headed off to lunch afterwards.
A quick stop in my room to drop off our books and freshen up our
makeup, led to us walking arm in arm with our purses over opposite
shoulders into the cafeteria. We unlocked arms as we made our way
through the line and picked up light lunches. Some small salads, some
fruit, a couple yogurts and two waters. At first I thought I would
starve or die of blandness. It didn't take long to find out the food
was delicious and I felt much lighter, not so stuffed after every meal.
I didn't need to eat all that extra heavy stuff I normally loaded up
on. I just felt better overall and I seemed to have more energy to
boot.
We ran into Teresa again and so she joined us for lunch. General girly
chit chat accompanied our meal, ending with us agreeing to meet Teresa
at the recreation room tonight after dinner. Teresa made sure to
compliment me on my outfit again and generally be as sweet as sugar. I
thanked her and told her how nice it was to see her again. Which was
kind of a lie considering she wasn't making my life as a girl any
easier by looking so good. But I tried to be pleasant and remember I
was supposed to be a girl.
On our way back to my room to pick up our next set of books for class
we ran into Ms. Dunterbuam. Looking incredibly savvy and very business
like. She fell in with us saying she needed to talk to us and wanted
to wait until we got to the room.
All three of us entered my room with Ms Dunterbaum entering last and
lightly closing the door. I fished my powder out of my purse, touching
up my face. I put the powder back in and got out my lip liner and
lipstick, reapplying my lips in the mirror as they had come off when I
was eating. Once I was satisfied I returned them both to my purse. I
looked up to see Lidia and Ms Dunterbaum both smiling and watching me.
"Told ya, like a fish afraid of the water," Lidia said looking at Ms
Dunterbuam.
"Bridget dear, it seems you have learned quite a lot in your short stay
with us," Ms Dunterbaum commented while still smiling.
"Good teachers?" I suggested retrieving mine and Lidia's books for our
next class.
"Good answer girl," Lidia said taking her book and giving me a
mischievous wink.
"I am positive Lidia is a capable mentor, but it takes more than a
mentor to make a successful lady," Ms Dunterbuam informed me.
"That however is not why I am here. Lidia tomorrow say, around noon, I
want you to bring Bridget over to Kelly's apartment. You and I can
head back to my apartment to watch TV or whatever. Kelly would like
some time alone with her love," Ms Dutnerbaum stated.
"I would like that very much!" I said smiling at them both.
"We can do that and I will make sure she is especially pretty," Lidia
said returning my smile.
"I think that would be very nice," Ms Dunterbuam commented.
"Well you girls better get to class. I will see you two tomorrow at
noon then." With that Ms Dunterbaum was out the door and gone.
"Come on lover girl or we are going to be late," Lidia said
intertwining her arm with mine as we headed out the door ourselves.
Chapter 30
The rest of the classes seemed to float by as I couldn't get Kelly out
of my mind. Lidia had to poke me back to earth with her pen twice
more. She just smiled as I am sure she knew what I had on my mind.
Beauty class was about styling ones own hair. Various styles on
different girls were on display. Different facial structures supported
certain styles and finding your style strength was important to what
looks you could use in your outfits. Interestingly enough I found out
I was not the only girl in my class wearing a wig, four others were. I
was very surprised as I hadn't been able to pick them out before,
perhaps I just hadn't paid close enough attention. Never the less I
felt relieved to know that and a little less like an outsider. I was
also initially very scared that removing my wig would out my boy status
with my short hair cut. That changed when the other girls removed
theirs and they had similar short boy haircuts like mine. It just
seemed to transform them before my very eyes. Much the same as me
removing mine did, I can imagine. I had little difficulty replacing my
wig as I had worn it a lot in the past as a cross dresser, the other
girls seemed to have more difficulty. Lidia was wonderfully supportive
during the whole class as were the other mentors with their girls.
I did however long for natural locks of my own after seeing what all
could be done. Some of those girls looked so beautiful with their hair
pined up, wrapped close to their head, straightened, hung over one
shoulder, or even in loose spiral curls. So many things could be done
that it was almost the same as choosing your makeup. The wig however
did offer me a few limited choices, which I did manage to note down
despite my distractions.
The final class of the day was fundamentals of mathematics. It was a
general math class to catch everyone up on their math skills before you
went into something further. Lidia explained that all the girls had to
take the class just to make sure everyone was on the same page. A lot
of girls came from backgrounds of bad educational experiences for a
myriad of reasons, so it was part of their further development, the
same as English. I did like math and science; however I never really
applied myself in math classes when I was in school so it was a very
nice refresher. As it was, I tried to generally pay attention and not
get distracted by thoughts of Kelly or how I was dressed. I really
just wanted to get through tonight so tomorrow could get here faster.
Thoughts of tonight reminded me we were supposed to hang out with
Teresa and I wondered what all we would be doing.
After math we made our way to the study hall on the third floor. Lidia
and I had some homework that needed done and there wasn't enough room
for both of us in my room. I am guessing they assigned extra homework
on the weekends to give the girls something to do besides sit around,
idle hands and all that.
On our way there we got stopped in the hall by Ms Sherrim, who was just
ending a conversation with a professor. She was wearing a pastel
orange skirt suit made of some soft looking material with matching
colored heels. The color was toned down enough not to be an eyesore,
but still stood out, pretty but not overbearing. Her silver hair was
pulling back into a bun on the back of her head still in the same style
that it was when I first met her. Tastefully applied make up and
sparse jewelry defined her conservative look or perhaps refined was a
better word.
"Bridget, Lidia, what a pleasant surprise. You two do look very lovely
today," Ms Sherrim complemented.
"Thank you Ms Sherrim," Lidia and I both responded.
"I can see you have been following my instructions. You wear that
outfit well Bridget and your nails look much more appropriate now.
Where ever did Ms Dunterbaum find that wig?" Ms Sherrim inquired.
"Thank you Ms Sherrim, I really do like all of it. I am not sure where
she got the wig," I replied.
The last part was a lie, as the wig was mine, but I didn't think that
was something I needed to share.
"When I instructed Ms Dunterbaum the hair should be long like her own,
this wasn't what I had in mind, but after seeing you the color
certainly does suit you. On another note, I have been speaking to your
professors and you seem to be making great progress in your short time
with us. I am very glad to hear this. See how much we can achieve if
we only strive for it?" Ms Sherrim elaborated.
"It has, been an eye opening experience," I replied sweetly.
Which was the truth in more ways than one, but I was being a bit
mischievous myself when I said it. I noticed Lidia had bit her bottom
lip and was trying to hide a smile. She caught the implied joke and
was trying not to laugh. I enjoyed watching her squirm a little bit,
the stinker.
"New experiences can help us grow, especially if they are good ones.
Speaking of which, why don't you join me for brunch on Sunday? It
would be a good experience for you to get out, after coming so far from
the boyish girl I first met. A reward of sorts for all your hard work.
Yes I think that will do nicely. I trust you have the weekend dresses
as well?" Ms Sherrim informed me.
"Well um, yes I do, but-" I stammered trying to think of some reason
not to go.
"Good, you can wear the white outfit. I am sure you will look just
lovely in it. It is settled then, I will send Charles over with the
car to pick you up at around nine," Ms Sherrim stated.
"Lidia I trust you will make sure that she is on time and properly
instructed. You needn't accompany her, so why don't you take the time
off, a bit of recognition for your excellent mentoring. She will be
back some time in the afternoon, I will inform Ms Dunterbaum when I
plan on returning her," Ms Sherrim primed Lidia.
"I certainly will and thank you Ms Sherrim," Lidia responded.
"Your welcome dear. Well I have delayed you girls long enough. I am
sure you have things to be about as do I. So you best be getting to
them, I look forward to seeing you on Sunday Bridget, until then," Ms
Sherrim stated excusing herself.
With that she was gone about as fast as we had ran into her. Lidia
interlocked her arm with mine again and we continued on down the hall.
"I don't know what you did, but she is impressed with you. I have
never been invited to brunch. Nor have I been given time off while
mentoring a student," Lidia mused while walking with me.
"That's good and well for you, but what in the world am I going to do
while I'm at brunch with her?" I said rather nervously.
"I don't know that either, but your better stay on your toes. She has
taken an interest in you for whatever reason," Lidia replied as we
arrived at the study hall.
Chapter 31
Deanna sat in her office finishing up some routine business matters.
Employees had to be paid, services had to be paid for and there was
always some matter that needed personal attention. That was the cycle
of bearing any responsibility. She was punching away at her laptop
when Ann walked in.
"Afternoon Deanna," Ann said smiling.
She was wearing a cobalt blue pant suit, with a silver blouse
underneath her jacket. Her short grey hair had a messy layered cut to
it, but looked stylish on her slightly overweight frame. Silver stud
earrings and a silver necklace complemented her look along with her two
inch matching blue heels.
"Afternoon Ann, how was your trip?" Deanna said rising from her desk to
greet Ann with a warm handshake.
"It was uneventful. Are we preparing for litigation today?" replied
Ann, returning her warm handshake and indicating to Deanna's outfit.
Deanna was still wearing the charcoal skirt suit from earlier, with the
black and white pumps and her hair pulled back.
"Not that I am aware of," Deanna replied a bit nervously.
"Please let's sit down. I didn't come here for an inquisition," Ann
said smiling warmly and indicating for Deanna to take her seat at her
desk.
Ann took one of the two guest seats on the other side of the desk.
Seating herself and relaxing back in the chair. Deanna sat back down
behind her desk, still upright and proper in her skirt suit.
"You know in all the time you have been an employee, I don't think I
can recall you ever having worn your hair up, or so stylish. By your
outfit I would say you are feeling a bit defensive, are you not?" Ann
asked easing into the question.
Deanna let out a long sigh.
"That might be a fair assessment. I suppose by your outfit I can
assume that you are here to be the calming force?" Deanna replied
smiling slightly.
Ann returned her smile a bit more warmly.
"Do what you do best as the saying goes. I am going to remember your
outfit Deanna, because if I ever need to imply a threat of litigation
to someone. I am going to add a legal brief to this outfit and send
you out with questions for them." Ann laughed a little at the last
remark.
"That impressive huh?" Deanna relaxed back in her chair laughing a
bit.
"You look absolutely striking and I think you could scare the wits out
of someone who didn't know you weren't an attorney." Ann replied still
smiling.
"You always did know how to make me feel better. Thank you Ann,"
Deanna said.
Ann shrugged her shoulders and smiled back.
"Again, do what you do best and your welcome," Ann replied with a wink.
"Well look at you, this has to be the first time I have seen you with
out socks and in heels as well," Deanna commented back good heartedly.
"Perhaps I am feeling a bit scrappy," Ann replied wrinkling her nose.
Deanna and Ann both shared a laugh at that. Deanna had relaxed quite a
bit and she had adopted a posture more closely reflecting Ann's.
"You thinking the heels will throw Ms Sherrim off her game?" Deanna
asked.
"Take your advantages where you can get them," stated an amused Ann.
"I saw Kelly on my way in," Ann said steering the conversation in
another direction.
"Oh is she back?" Deanna asked sitting up and straighten her clothes.
"Yes I think your girlfriend was heading back to her apartment. She
had her blue skirt suits in her hands," answered Ann.
"I don't know if I would call her my girlfriend yet. I was hoping her
uniforms would be down there when I sent her. I am glad she was able
to get them," Deanna stated.
"I see, should I call her your lover then? She really did look
beautiful in that red sweater dress. I didn't know she had such
style," Ann prodded further.
"I really don't know what to call her Ann. She does look fantastic in
that dress, a lot better than I ever did. I am glad someone is getting
some use out of it, after it spent all that time hanging in my closet,"
mused Deanna.
"So you are sleeping with her, dressing her in your clothes and you
don't know what to call her?" Ann asked as if the question was a silly
one.
Deanna paused for a moment in thought, exhaling audible afterwards.
She locked eyes with Ann giving her a knowing smile.
"You have been setting me up for that question the entire time," Deanna
stated shaking her head slightly in amusement.
"Guilty as charged," Ann confirmed.
"I just think you should define what she means to you. Don't you think
she deserves to know? Now this is the part when I am supposed to
explain to you about not letting this affect your job and all that.
But you already know that, don't you," Ann inquired rising from her
chair.
"That I do. I will think on what you've said Ann," replied Deaana
standing up and making her way around the desk.
"You should probably also let her know that I know about you two. She
was friendly but seemed a bit guarded at the sight of me," shared Ann.
"I will be sure to let her know as well," Deanna assured her.
"Don't wait too long to talk to her Deanna, love can be fleeting."
Advised Ann.
"I won't and thanks again Ann," Deanna confided.
"Well I am off to find Ms Sherrim and deal with her," Ann said taking
in a deep breath.
"How do you plan on handling her?" Deanna asked walking Ann to the
door.
"Ambushing her of course," replied Ann wiggling her two inch heels on
her way out the door.
Deanna with a slight smile on her face, waved to a departing Ann who
returned her wave as she left the office.
Chapter 32
Kelly was making her way back up the stairs to her apartment. Her arms
were loaded with five blue skirt suits and two pairs of blue pumps.
She fumbled for the key when she reached the door. Her mind was still
on passing Ann Mercer on her way in. Ann was making her way to the
office and Kelly was just getting her clothes out of the car when they
had seen each other. Ann was friendly enough, but Kelly felt a little
distant. She didn't know what Ann would think of her and Deanna, being
together, or how to explain Bridget's situation either. So she didn't
want to talk about it with Ann, at least not without talking to Deanna
first.
Kelly finally got the door open and made it into the apartment. She
shut the door behind her and carried the stuff into the bedroom,
noticing something smelled badly on her way past the kitchen. Laying
the skirt suits on the bed with the shoes, she made her way back into
the kitchen to investigate. The garbage was the culprit and she
quickly tied it up. Normally she would ask Brian to take it down,
however now she had to do it herself. It didn't take her long though
and she was back in the kitchen dashing the lingering smell with some
disinfectant spray.
She emptied the leftover coffee out of the coffee pot, it had thickened
up quite a bit after being left for two days. So she proceeded to
clean out the coffee pot and started a new pot brewing when she had
finished.
Then she headed into the bathroom as she had to pee after the long
trip. Washing her hands afterwards she noticed Brian had left his
toothbrush out, so she placed it back in its rightful spot. Looking
around she noticed his towel was also still hung over the shower. She
remembered using it last, the night she sat at Ms Sherrims table.
Taking it down, she refolded it and hung it back on the towel rack.
Coming out of the bathroom she checked on the coffee before making her
way back into the bedroom. She opened the closet pushing her clothes
back to make room. Taking the skirt suits out of their garment bags
she hung them up in the closet just opposite Brian's clothes. Pausing
for a moment she ran her hands across his shirts as they sat
undisturbed in the closet. Turning around to put the shoes away, she
noticed that the bed was still made from two days ago. Looking around,
the whole room had a vacant feel to it, as if it sat waiting for
someone to return.
Kelly got one pair of shoes out of the box when the first tear trickled
down her face. She closed her eyes as a sob escaped her mouth,
plopping down on the bed with the shoes held tightly in her hands, she
started to cry.
Chapter 33
After what seemed liked longer than it was, we managed to finish up the
homework assigned to us for the weekend. A few assignments in math,
some research on examples of looks for fashion class, off the internet
and a boring English paper. Beauty class just required me to show up
on Monday with my hair in a different style. I had already decided to
wear it up, just strategically worn to hide the fact that it was a wig.
So it was a lighter than normal load for the weekend. Lidia reminded
me it was only my first week as well, so I could expect to see an
increase next weekend.
After leaving the study hall we made our way back to the cafeteria for
some dinner. Where we reviewed the proper way for me to eat at brunch
on Sunday. Given that I would be wearing something in all white I
would have to be extra careful I didn't get anything on it. Lidia and
I also discussed my background and where I had come from in case Ms
Sherrim asked during our brunch. A half-way house for runaways was the
story easiest to backup she informed me. At least that is what she and
Ms Dunterbuam had decided on before. Apparently I was a farm girl who
had run away for life in the big city. Only to end up living on the
streets and roaming from place to place. I had dabbled in drugs and
alcohol, but managed to avoid anything addictive. A story common to a
lot of girls who were here Lidia informed me.
Finishing dinner and our minor planning we dropped off our books back
at our rooms. A quick touch up of our makeup and sprits of Lidia's
perfume found us again arm and arm on our way down to the recreation
room. It was located on the first floor of the dorm rooms in the
middle of the building, convenience I guess.
Large bright patches of overlapping colors decorated the walls. The
colors stretched from floor to ceiling lasting about six feet before
changing to a different color. Each transition from one color to the
other had some kind of design, a large curve, one side of a star or a
wavy line. The floor was covered in a short soft carpet, much to the
delight of my feet. Its base of light beige had discreet sprinkles of
the previous shapes in various colors. A star here, a half moon there,
a sinuous line thrown in, with a couple other shapes to round out the
mix. The overall effect was a cheerful room without being too noisy,
not to mention a nice break from the well constructed properness of the
rest of the dorms.
The room was very large, enough to give the dining hall a run for its
money, only broken up by the stray columns that supported the ceiling.
A couple pin ball machines sat against one wall with a group of girls
occupying them. A couple were playing while some more cheered them on
or distressed with them at times of disaster, laughing and giggling all
the while. Pool tables occupied a good center portion of one end of
the room. There were several players at each and a few waiting their
turns. Smiles and a few giggles were reserved for the silliness of the
girls at the pinball machines. Laughter is contagious they say.
Next came a larger section of octagonal hardwood tables with equal
amounts of padded chairs for each. Lots of girls sat at these, playing
a few card games to pass the time or just sitting and discussing
whatever topics were of importance. The far end was reserved for a
large drop down screen and long rows of chairs. A movie played on the
screen and a good sized group cheered and booed it. The movie playing
was"Just Friends", I had seen it before, it was fun and silly. The
girls swooned and awed at the lead male character and threw popcorn at
the jerk male character whenever they appeared on screen, this between
laughter and giggles themselves. Everyone appeared to be having a
generally good time.
We walked around looking to see if Teresa was already here. I was a
little anxious being in the presence of so many girls. Thankfully I
had spent the last two days in classes with them dressed just as I was
now, or I would have been a nervous wreck. As we made a sweep of the
room everyone seemed to know Lidia. Girls would stop to say hi, tell
us how nice we looked, or jump up to give her a cheery hug and
compliments. Of course I had to meet all these girls. Cindy, Rebecca,
Elizabeth, Brandy, Margaret, Felicia, on and on. I had no chance of
remembering all their names, I just tried to be polite and thank them
for their kind words. They all wore the same standard uniform of the
white shirt and black skirt with the Mary Janes and lacey ankle hose.
Almost all the girls in the room wore that uniform, but there were
sprinklings of others in the semi-formal attire like myself. I felt
like I could see Ms Sherrims handy work or perhaps they came into those
clothes on their own. Either way I felt nicely dressed without being
singled out.
It was during one of the girl greetings that Teresa found us. A gently
poke in Lidia's ribs from her, turned into one of those lean in hugs
that girls give each other where they don't want to mess up each others
hair or makeup. After their friendly greeting Teresa went on to greet
our other companion, Rebecca, in the same way, finally turning to me
extending her arms for the same type of hug. I did the only thing I
could do and returned her girly lean in hug. I felt kind of awkward
doing it, but we she pulled back she didn't indicate she noticed.
"Hi Bridget it's nice to see you again, Still rockin that dress I see,"
she said with a friendly smile and a wink.
"Thank you, I see you're still putting your uniform to shame," I
replied to Teresa with a friendly smile.
Lidia put her hands on her hips and with a crooked smile and said,
"What am I, a stick in the mudd?"
"If a stick could only dream to be so pretty," I consoled her, placing
a hand on her arm indicating my sincerity.
"That's better," she said with a bright smile.
"Oh you are quite the sweet talker," Teresa chortled.
"I bet you talked the kisses right out of all the cute boys, didn't
you," Teresa went on.
"Oh I wouldn't say that," I replied shyly.
Truth was I really wouldn't want any thing from the so called cute
boys, much less kisses, but I was still trying to fit in as a girl. So
I guess I could expect to field such comments from time to time. All
three of the girls replied with there teasing disbelief in unison.
"Listen I have to get back to the other girls, I don't want to be rude
to them, but you all are welcome to come hang out," Rebecca said
nicely.
"Ok thanks, we will probably wait till the movie starts," Lidia said
warmly.
"Sounds good, it was nice to meet you Bridget, catch you all later,"
Rebecca replied making her way back to another group of girls.
The girls and I said our goodbyes.
"Isn't the movie already started?" I asked somewhat confused as to what
Rebecca was referring to.
"No, that is just the opener, not the scheduled movie," Lidia informed
me.
"Well what is the scheduled movie then?" I inquired.
"We don't know," Lidia said with a crooked little smile.
"You'll see," Teresa replied to me with an equally crooked smile.
I began to understand why they got along so well, they were both
mischievously little stinkers. So we decided to burn some time till
the movie started by playing some pool. I didn't know about the idea
of bending over a table in this dress and I became self conscious of my
attire just a tad. However Lidia and Teresa wouldn't hear it, so we
grabbed another girl which happened to be Cheryl, the same girl who did
my nails. She joined our troupe gladly, dressed just the same as
Teresa. Cheryl seemed slightly older than the rest of us and it was
reflected in how she acted. More reserved and calm, she still laughed
with us and joked, but she just came off as more mature in her manner.
Never the less we had a good time, Lidia showed me how to shoot in the
dress without actually messing it up. Bending strategically at the
waist, just not too much, how to chalk the stick without getting the
distinctive blue chalk on me. Lidia and I were partners and I thought
we did pretty well for ourselves, with Cheryl being about as equally
skilled as us. However the clearly superior player was Teresa. She
ran the table on the rest of us. She would even skip her turns now and
then, just to try to let us catch up. In the end Teresa and Cheryl won
most of the games, but I didn't care as we had fun, and no one cared
who I was or what I was wearing. It felt great to dress how I wanted
and be accepted as just normal.
Afterward we sat at a table for awhile drinking some waters that Lidia
had gotten for us and just chatting about each other. I stuck to my
farm girl runaway story. Not really talking much about myself. I was
still new so I think that's why they didn't ask. Cheryl had come from
a well to do family, but had rebelled against them and generally caused
a lot of trouble until she ending up breaking one too many laws. She
spent some time in jail, but then was given a choice and that was how
she ended up here. A far cry from what she used to be she had said.
Teresa's story was different in that she had only her father, never
really knowing her mother. Her father had worked and tried to do his
best, but he just wasn't around enough and she had started running
around late at night at a young age. Disappearing for days at a time,
dropping out of school, and partying all the time. She didn't go into
much more detail than that, but I think we all got the idea. Lidia's
however I didn't see coming, She had grown up in a good middle class
family. That is until they got divorced, then she said she just didn't
handle it well. She ended up eloping with her boyfriend running across
the country. Skipping out on motels, restaurants, stealing money and
gas wherever they could to get by. Then when they got to Hollywood, he
dumped her, slipping away while she was still asleep in a run down
motel. She lived on the streets wherever and with who ever she could
crash with. Eventually her past caught up with her when she was
scamming someone who turned out to be an undercover cop. That led to
several of her skipped out on debts identifying her across five states,
which of course in the end led her here almost six years ago.
I sat there in disbelief, my mouth agape. Of all the things that I had
thought Lidia might have been, that just wasn't it. Even now I still
couldn't picture her as that person. There was a slight pause with me
starring at her. Cheryl and Teresa gave me a look that suggested I was
being rude.
"But you know, how far you can come and people can't believe who you
were in your past," Lidia said starring right at me.
I didn't miss the hint, I quickly tried to cover with the first thing
that came to my mind. I got a hurtful look on my face which I am sure
they took for my reaction to Lidia's comment.
But it was the setup, to which I replied, "He left you? You poor thing,
what a jerk that guy was."
That caught all the girls off guard causing them to blink in confusion
as there reactions changed. I reached over and gave Lidia a great big
hug.
"I'm so sorry, you are far better off now," I continued, which brought
a crooked little smile from Lidia, who understood my hidden apology.
The other girls cheered up too as they thought my hurtful look was for
Lidia's painful past.
"I would make him carry you all the way home, in heels no less, the big
jerk,." I finished still hugging her with one arm.
That brought a good laugh from all of them as I guess they got the
mental image of a man in heels. The reality was, there was one sitting
right next to them in heels and more, and they didn't even know it.
Well at least two of them didn't.
"I bet you would," Lidia said giving me a big smile and a giggle.
Rebecca called over to Lidia, waving us over to some seats next to her,
as we noticed the credits rolling on the first movie. Lidia
intertwined her arm with mine as we grabbed our waters and stood up.
Teresa intertwined her arm with my other arm and the two of them
practically skipped with me over to the seats. Cheryl just followed
shaking her head and smiling at us silly girls. We all sat down, with
Lidia on my left next to Rebecca, Teresa on my right and Cheryl just
down from her. They made sure I sat up straight and crossed my legs,
with chin up and my shoulders back, like a proper lady. All the other
seats filled up and the hexagonal tables were pushed out of the way to
make room for all the padded chairs. Which were lined up near the end
of the table area. They were all filled as well and those remaining
had to stand and watch.
"Just follow along you will catch on soon enough," Lidia whispered.
I nodded still not understanding what to do, Teresa giggled next to me
and Cheryl stifled a chuckle, much like a lot of girls in the crowd.
We faced the large screen as the movie came on featuring the production
companies' logo. All the girls clapped with excitement at the start of
the show. The movies title came up and it wasn't one I recognized. So
it went through the opening scenery and rested down on a male character
standing at a door holding flowers. He was obviously handsome and what
I guessed was the main character, by the narrative of him thinking as
he stood at the door. Most of the girls kept the arms down by their
sides, putting their hands pointed up, overlapping and tilted slightly,
covering the middle of their breasts. As if to still their beating
hearts. Leaning into someone next to them and swooning at the male,
making a very audible drawn out sigh and fluttering their eyes. Of
course Lidia and Teresa leaned into me and Cheryl even got into the gag
with the person on her other side. It was a clearly rehearsed reaction
and done in almost unison. I had to smile at the silliness of it,
which a moment later many girls giggled at the silliness as well.
The scene continued with a very attractive girl answering the door and
taking the flowers, I pegged her for the love interest. The crowd of
girls gave her and approving drawn out ooh, which ended in another
round of giggles. It was quickly cut off as they both appeared on the
screen together and this fostered many girls making kissy faces and
kissing sounds. Most broke off into laughter or giggles. The movie
went on for a few minutes with the male and female characters talking.
Then they made it out to his car where he drove down the scenic road to
some background music. All the girls wiggled around in their chairs
like they were dancing at a club or party without ever taking their
butts out of their seats.
"You can dance around just don't leave the seat, that's the rule,"
Lidia whispered to me.
She danced around making tough girl faces like she was really getting
into it. Leaning her back into me, so I figured what the heck and
joined in. I danced like a girl anyway, which came from spending all
my time watching girls at clubs instead of learning how to dance. We
bopped around until the music ended and then all the girls abruptly
stopped. Almost instantly returning to their proper poster, as if
nothing was happening a moment before. A ripple of laughter ran
through the crowd afterward. The couple in the car stopped at some
romantic restaurant and was seated at a cozy table with a single
candle.
"oooooh la la," the crowd of girls said in near unison.
I realized then that the movie was a cheesy date flick and that's why
it didn't matter to the girls. They were reacting to the stereotypical
date movie clich?s and it didn't require seeing the movie before. I
guess all the date flicks were just that cookie cutter. So they had
made a game out of it. Taking something that they knew from their past
that wasn't real, something they couldn't go out and do, changing it
into some fun, in a way that they could do. That's also when I really
let go and joined in. I watched for when the girls did something and
tried to duplicate it when it came up again.
The dating couple left the boring restaurant for some fun of their own
and a carnival. The girls clapped at this and when the roller coaster
went by off to the side complete with screaming people, the girls
joined in. Throwing their hands into the air, wiggling their fingers
and swaying side to side just like they were on the coaster themselves.
Complete with albeit hushed screams that died in laughter. I had to
admit it was pretty funny, the absurdity that you could never see a
film and pretty much guess what was in it. Then to top it off you made
fun of tho
