Kindred Spirit --------------- It would be a critical year in Charlie's life. At times like these a true friend can mean all the difference in the world. Donald was just such a friend... --------------- Charlie was just lying there. He had just received one hell of a beating by Eddy Dwyer, most affectionately known as the class bully. Charlie thought... no, hoped, that things would be different. He was starting middle school in a fresh new school district and was hoping his past wouldn't catch up with him. Charlie was transgendered, and no matter where he went people found out, and gave him hell for it. He was hoping he could hide it in this school, or at least find some support. Here it was the first day of school, and as he laid there nursing a swollen lip; he feared he had found neither. He had worn his favorite panties to school today. As much as he tried to outwardly hide his inner girl and look and act every part the boy, he still wore his panties. They were the one thing that kept him grounded in who he really was. They were his one and only source of sanity, stability and strength. School was out for the day, and Eddy had come up to welcome Charlie to the new school in the usual way, a good old fashioned wedgie. But when he got a handful of panties, it was game on. One to the gut, one to the chops, and after Charlie crumpled to the ground, a good swift to the ribs for good measure. "Fucking faggot!" Eddy said and then kicked him one more time for good measure before thankfully heading off. "Are you okay?" Charlie looked up and saw an older boy smiling at him. "Yea", he said, "I think I'll just sit here and bleed for a few minutes though." The older boy said, "Okay, glad you're okay", and sat in the grass next to Charlie. "Donald's the name, and you would be..." "Charlie's the name, and right now, falling down and bleeding is apparently my game." Donald said, "I admire your courage". "Hah, what courage" Charlie replied, motioning to his swollen lip. "I never had the strength of will to wear my panties to school" Donald replied. Charlie did not know what to say or how to respond. Had he for the first time in his life ran into somebody who was not only kind and sympathetic, but also a girl on the inside like himself? Donald laughed a little. "Yea, I know how you feel". "So you have an inner girl too", Charlie asked, almost in a whisper. "Yea, something like that I guess." And then Charlie started to cry. Donald had just pulled the cork on the bottle of emotions that was Charlie. Charlie let it all out too. Explained his inner conflict; wishing he was a girl with every fiber of his being. Wanting so bad to let his inner girl out, but had to keep her caged for fear of derision and persecution. Donald just sat there and listened, allowing the smaller boy to let it all out. Then Donald said, "Donna has always wanted to see the light of day, but sadly it can never be." "Why not", Charlie asked. Donald just sat there and shook his head and said, "Let's just say I have made some bad decisions in life, and because of them, Donna will never be." Charlie did not understand, but Donald refused to elaborate further. The boys talked a while longer. Finally, realizing it was getting late, Charlie said he had to go home but asked Donald if he could come over. Donald thanked him, but said he was restricted, and could not. Charlie asked if he would see him at school the next day, and Donald answered, "More than likely." And Charlie headed home. Charlie got home, and came in the front door trying to be as quiet as possible and go straight to his room. But his dad heard him, "Is that you Charlie?" "Yessir" he responded sheepishly. "Little late aint we?" "Yessir" he replied again, as he slowly walked into the living room. His father was sitting there drinking a beer, and noticed Charlie's swollen lip. "Fall down a flight of stairs did we" he said sarcastically. "No sir, somebody hit me." "Well, little fairies do get beat up a lot" his father replied, and went back to watching whatever it was he was watching on TV. His mother had heard the conversation from the kitchen, but knew her place. She continued to dice the carrots and the onions for the stew she was preparing. She dared not contradict or question what her husband said. Charlie slipped off to his room and cried. The next day at school, Charlie was sitting under a tree having lunch by himself when Donald came up and sat beside him. Donald asked him if he was wearing his panties today. Charlie looked down dejectedly and said, "No". Then Donald did something that Charlie did not expect. He scolded Charlie. He said, "Don't let other people decide your life for you. You will live to regret it like I did!" Charlie asked again for Donald to elaborate, but once again, he met with a stone wall. Donald would only say that Charlie had to stand up for himself, and be who he was inside. They chatted for the remainder of the lunch, and when the bell rang to return to class they went their separate ways. As Charlie was heading back to his class, he saw a large commotion across the quad. Asking around he found out there was a freak accident. Eddy Dwyer had tripped and fallen. Okay, so everyone trips and falls every now and then, but we usually get back up and keep going. As it turned out, Eddy landed very awkwardly and broke his arm really bad. Normally one's arm bends at the elbow, Eddy's arm now bent in two places. Charlie just turned and headed off to class smiling and thinking to himself, "Karma's a bitch, aint it?" The next day, Charlie wore his panties to school. And for the first time in his life, he did so proudly. For once he did not feel shame for his inner self. He so wanted to show off to Donald, but he did not see Donald at school that day; or the next. They did cross paths again though. As the school year went on, they ran into each other on a regular basis; Donald making sure each time to find the good in Charlie's soul and make an effort to build his strength and confidence. And whenever Charlie hit a low point in his life, Donald was always there to pick him back up. Charlie asked many times if they could meet after school: Bowling, movies, hamburger, whatever. Each time, Donald said he would really like to, but it wouldn't be permitted. And Charlie learned to stand up for himself. One day in January his father had slapped him, and slapped him hard. Charlie started to turn and slink off to his room when he stopped. Stood straight and tall, and turned and faced his father. "Slap me again you son of a bitch" he said defiantly. His father was so shocked at this that he dropped his beer. "What did you just say to me?" He demanded. Charlie just stood there and dug his heels in. "Slap me again and I will call the police. They may not believe me the first time, or the second time, but I bet on the third, fourth or fifth time they start to come around. So go ahead, hit me. Oh, and another thing. I am not a queer; I am not a faggot or a fairy. I am who I am dammit, so you better start dealing with it; whether I am wearing a dress or Levi's jeans. You can learn to accept me for who I am, or grow old and die a bitter old man. Your choice." And with that Charlie proudly marched off to his room leaving his dad standing there in shock. As he walked down the hall to his room he could swear he could hear clapping coming from the kitchen. Life at home slowly improved after that. With Donald's constant support and encouragement, he started to stand up to his father on a regular basis and because if this, his mother started to stand up for herself too. And then there was the day the police came. Charlie did not have to call them, his mother had. His mom and dad had an argument, and he hit her. She locked herself in the bedroom and called the police. Something she would never had considered doing only six months earlier. When Charlie's father was hauled off in handcuffs his mom turned to Charlie and said, "Let's celebrate by going out and buying you your first dress". Charlie was elated. When Charlie's father was allowed to return home, both his wife and son were wearing dresses. He went into a rage, and by the time it was over he was in jail again. This time he was there to stay for quite a bit longer, and with a restraining order to boot. At school, things were improving as well. Since Charlie was living and acting with conviction and confidence (thanks to Donald), people were becoming more receptive and even accepting of him. Eddy on the other hand always seemed to have it in for Charlie, but never really had a chance to get close enough to hurt him as he had on the first day of school. Eddy as it turned out had a string of bad luck like nobody had ever seen before. First the broken arm, no sooner had that healed that he broke his ankle stepping in a pothole. After that, a branch from a tree fell on him and broke his collar bone. Eddy just seemed to have enough problems of his own that kept him from messing with or even thinking about Charlie. By the end of the school year, things had improved considerably for Charlie. Finally in the last week of school, Charlie was sitting under his favorite tree, but could not help but feeling a bit depressed. "What's gotcha down?" Came a familiar voice. And Donald sat down next to Charlie. Charlie looked at Donald and said, "I won't be back next year. With dad in jail, we're going to live closer to grandma." "I'll miss you" Donald said. "But there is a silver lining, in a way." Mom said I could start transitioning over the summer, and might even be able to start wearing skirts to school next year!" This Charlie said with a great bit of cheerfulness in his voice. "I can't begin to say how happy I am for you" Donald replied happily. Charlie asked if they could stay in touch, but again as always Donald just said he couldn't. Frustrated, Charlie raised his voice and asked, "WHY! You have taught me to grow beyond myself. You have shown me I can break free of things that hold me back, and be myself. Yet you are always saying you cannot do the same. What is it that keeps you from living your own life?" For the first time, Donald looked truly sad; then said one word, "Life". Charlie said the cryptic answers weren't going to cut it anymore, and demanded a real answer for a change. Donald said nothing but got up and started walking, and Charlie followed to the front of the school. There he stopped at a huge maple tree that was planted the day the school was opened. Standing under the tree Donald said, "I was much like you when I went to school here. But unlike you, I kept Donna inside me never allowing her out for fear of the unknown. And such a fear if left unchecked, starts to eat away at you. It gnaws away at your self-confidence and your self-worth. I fell into that pit and just kept falling until I felt I would fall forever. And so it was that on Halloween night in 1982 while others were out eating candy, I sat below this tree chewing all the pills I could swallow." "It is true that if a spirit has yet to complete their life's mission, that they cannot be at peace until that mission has been completed. I was to become Donna, so I must remain until I can pass over as Donna. And since this is where I ended my journey, this is where I must remain, and cannot leave." Donald then started to walk back into the school, stopped and said one last thing to Charlie. "I meant it when I said I was happy for you. I hope I helped you towards a long happy life. I hope the girl in you gets to come out to stay some day. And most of all, I hope you will never suffer the same fate as I have." And Donald walked back into the school. Charlie tried to follow, but Donald was gone; Charlie never saw him again. Epilogue: Six years later, a pretty young lady knelt by a large maple tree in front of her old school. Charlie placed a dozen roses at the base of the tree. "Donald... Donna... I don't know if you can hear me, but I need to speak my peace. You brought me back from the precipice overlooking a very dark place. You guided and let the true Charlie breathe. Because of you my inner girl did in fact come out, and was able to thrive. Six months ago I became a complete woman thanks in every way to what you did for me. I do not know how the inner working of the cosmos works, but if doing for someone else that which should have been completed in your own lifetime counts for anything; then I hope in no small way that your soul is allowed to be at peace." "Thank you for being my friend."

Kindred of the Wood Part Two of Two

Sitting around the fire at Wade’s camp that evening, Mara glanced at her furiously blushing father and stifled a laugh. Her great uncle continued the story, much to her father’s chagrin.“Now, I didn’t see Steve’s gallantry, so I had no idea what was going on when I paddled up. There he was, standing on the bank holding his paddle planted in the ground like a knight with a lance, lookin’ for all the world like he’d thrash anybody who dared set foot on land.“I asked him what he was on about, and...

Techno CultivatorChapter 11 The True Spirit

The next day everyone gathered in the courtyard. Jessy looked rather ragged today. Apparently she’d been dragged into the lab at some point for her hypno-memory implant and experienced some things she’d have been better off not ever having witnessed. According to Skay, she very willingly jumped at the chance to join the Brotherhood. The face she made when he said that showed a great deal of grievance however, so James decided to take it with grain of salt. The now ever present Harvy was...

To Dress with Spirit

TO DRESS WITH SPIRIT "You know the locals say it's haunted," said my quirky friend Elena as we turned into the long carriage drive which led to the country house hotel in which I'd gained an internship. Her eyes were laughing as she said this, and I pinched her arm jokingly. "Pull the other one." We were both too worldly and rational to believe in ghosts. I'd heard the rumours about the hotel when I talked to people about the internship opportunity, and of course I'd dismissed...

Beths Erotic AdventuresChapter 9 Marie meets Spirit

They awoke early the following day, Beth couldn't help but laugh as Marie sat cross legged beside her and asked, "Can we go riding today?" "OK but how about a morning kiss." They kissed for a while before Marie sat back up, "When can we go." "Why don't you go and start the shower, I'll ring Meg and arrange everything and join you in a second." As Marie headed for the bathroom Beth lifted the phone and dialled the stables, "Hello!" "Hi Meg it's Beth, Beth...

Team Spirit

Team Spirit By Ms. Jenny Ann Preface by author: The following story was authored by me, it may be downloaded or shared at free sites only. A comment was made to stop with my photos, so this story will not have any; however, in order to get the random thoughts to come together in some sort of way, I had to get inspired. I began by slowly transforming myself, stopping along the way to read a few stories. It worked and I now know what I want to add to this story. I did take a picture;...

"Are you ready to meet her? I swear, you'll love her," she assured me, lying down with me."Really, Molly? I'll love her? Is she going to be a threat to you?""Yes, yes, and no smart-ass," she giggled, pecking my cheek. "She is just my twin sister, but we're fraternal twins. We don't have superpowers or read each other's minds; only identical twins get those. I can't think of a better woman for you to be with, than me."I nodded and looked away for a second. Team Spirit

Four eighteen-year-old studs, the Middleton College Sophomore debating team, were gathered in Room 212 waiting for the teacher. They were surprised by who arrived, surprised by the new teacher, slender, hard-bodied, barely older than them, with the voice and face of an angel. "Hello boys. I'm Ellen James, your new team advisor." "Hi, Miss James. My name is Luis, the team captain. This anglo on my right is Scott; that dude there is Carl, and Jeff is the fool coming out of the bathroom."...

Kindred SpiritsChapter 2 Back in the Kitchen

Errol pulled his Volvo into a small roadside park on the outskirts of Skylar, Montana. He'd been in the saddle for over five hundred miles and he just couldn't manage another one. Twice in the last half hour, he'd snapped awake when his tires drifted off the road and onto the shoulder, making a god-awful racket as loose gravel peppered the undercarriage and fender wells. He knew if he didn't stop soon, he'd likely wind up a highway statistic. There were no other cars, but there was a...

Kindred SpiritsChapter 3 Settling In

Errol and the Barkleys quickly and easily settled into a routine. He'd usually leave his car parked and ride to work with Lulu at about a quarter to six in the morning, then she'd either bring him back to the house after his shift, or he'd walk if she was tied up at the restaurant. It was less than a mile, and that was something else he liked about small towns. School was out for the summer, so Gretchen was pretty much on her own. Of course, girls that age always have a thousand things on...

Kindred SpiritsChapter 4 Making Friends

Luke Marquette entered the municipal library and approached the front desk where a young woman was date-stamping a stack of books. She saw him approach and greeted him with a pleasant smile. "Good morning. How can I help you?" He saw her eyes focus on the still-fading bruises on his face, then quickly look away, not to seem rude. "Yeah, um, someone told me you had computers available for public use. Is that right?" "Well, it's kind of right. You'd need a library card to use the...

Errol was touched by Luke's comment about thinking of him as a brother. There was something special about the kid, something that Errol couldn't quite put his finger on. After their conversation, he felt some confidence that Luke was finally done with selling himself to lonely, horny men driving the nation's highways. Someday, he'd have to get the story of what drove the boy from home and into the streets at such a tender age. And now he was interested in a girl at the library! Maybe...

Luke had been moved to the day shift at the hospital. In the short time he'd been employed there, he'd made a few acquaintances and earned the respect and admiration of just about all of his co-workers. Kindred SpiritsChapter 8 A Latent Talent

Luke felt he'd found a good friend in Steve Markowitz, the doctor who had taken care of him in the hospital, then got him hired on as an orderly. He may not have had much money in his pocket, but he didn't have to worry about where he was going to sleep every night or where his next meal was coming from. Lately, the sleeping arrangements had been a choice between his room or Jennette's house, and unless she was busy with something else, that was no choice at all. On his third sleepover,...

Gretchen's ploys to seduce Errol began slowly and with seeming innocence about a week after she'd almost caught him and her mom doing it. The first time he suspected something might be happening, he was sitting at the kitchen table solving the daily Sudoku puzzle. Luke walked across the street from Markowitz's office to his room lost in thought. Shit! I had no idea! I hope he's not pissed at me now. Maybe I should have said yes. But no, he seemed to be cool with me not wanting to go there. Damn, I wish he hadn't asked me that! But Markowitz seemed...

Over the next few days following their date, the demure, reserved Juanita disappeared and was replaced by a far more gregarious model. At work in the restaurant, she was constantly chatting and joking with coworkers and customers alike. Errol had heard a few off-the-cuff comments about it, and he had some curiosity about what was going on with her. Lulu knew exactly what was in the...

The Delight of a Mean Spirit By The Professor I didn't know it at the time, but while I was enjoying one of the happiest days of my life, I was being cursed. It was a fantastically beautiful spring day in Boulder. Even without the enhancement of magical weather control, I think it would have been beautiful. The skies were virtually cloudless (rain was only permitted at night) and the temperature was warm without being hot. It was shorts and halter-top weather for girls, and the...

Team Spirit

TEAM SPIRIT Hudson Senior High-School's gymnasium was packed to overflowing for the varsity basketball game. The Hudson Bobcats were playing their arch- rivals, the Deleon Cougars for the regional championship. The action was hot and heavy as both teams duked it out. The home team bleachers and their counterparts across the cavernous room for the visiting team's fans were standing room only. As into the action on the court as the crowd on the Hudson side was, a good portion of the...

A Reluctant Spirit

A RELUCTANT SPIRIT: SPIRIT OF THE EAST By Ingrid Halb "So, you're a genie?" Jack would have had a hard time believing this if he hadn't just seen what the little guy was capable of. "That's close enough," answered the three-foot tall man standing before him. "And you do magic on request?" Jack felt stupid asking the question but it was hard to deny the evidence before him. "It's more correct to say that I allow the magic to happen," the little man answered calmly, if not...

ARS Team Spirit

A RELUCTANT SPIRIT: TEAM SPIRIT By Ingrid Halb Matthew Johnson and Adam Tolbert had been best friends since the first grade and were still best friends in high school. It was a natural friendship. They were both intelligent and had many similar interests and hobbies. One such interest was a love for the game of football. Unfortunately, neither boy had the strength or manual dexterity to excel at the game. Truth be told, physically, both boys could best be described as dweebs. Still,...

ARSVengeful Spirit

A RELUCTANT SPIRIT: VENGEFUL SPIRIT By Ingrid Halb "Okay, I believe you," Larry said, plopping down across from the little man sitting at his kitchen table sipping tea. "Finally!" the little man said with relief. "You're a difficult man to convince." "Yeah well, it's not every day you get a three-foot tall genie pop up in your kitchen and tell you he's going to grant all your wishes," Larry pointed out. "Enable. Enable your wishes," the little man said with...

How I became the baddest girl in Clarksville Part 5 Smells like Teen Spirit

How I became the Baddest Girl in Clarksville Part 5 Smells like Teen Spirit -A thousand times good-bye - A rainbow of hand-lettered posters covered the lobby when I arrived at school on Monday, a little over a week since I'd gotten the call from Frank. Much had happen since then. I had learned what happed to Bradley Conrad. I'd pieced it together from snatches of conversations I picked up from other students; the halls were buzzing about it. Bradley had lost it Saturday...

Christmas Spirit

Copyright© December, 2006 by Alexa & Patrick Silver. All rights reserved. "Happy holidays!" Mariah tried to inject some holiday spirit into her voice, but failed miserably. She had been on her feet for thirteen hours solid and there wasn't a break in sight. First, she had worked a half day at the family-owned art gallery. Her parents had taken off on a thirty-fifth wedding anniversary/Christmas cruise. Mariah had intended to spend the holiday with her sister, but Halley has called this...

The Light Behind The WorldChapter 27 Spirit

In the morning Construct and I spent two hours working again on speaking Taluatu, as we now knew was the proper way of referring to the spoken language. We realized many other fine points like this as we gained familiarity with the common modifications done for conversational purposes. For me, the goal was to speak in unaccented Taluatu, but for Construct it was a matter of eliminating a clipped, toneless artificial quality he tended to fall back on when unsure of his words. I often thought...

While our heroes are in their train to freedom, we are going to divert our attention to someone who for better or worse is going to be important to our main characters. Alan, a 30 year old man was in his mountain cabin near a small town, reminiscing about his past life while sitting in his new couch, while the whiskey was pouring down his throat he remembered the time he married his late wife, when they were both 18, she was so beautiful, inciting, they didn’t waste any time to have...

A Released Spirit

What can I say about this. I just wanted to try something different. * * * * * How do I start something like this? How can I put into words my feelings about what has happened to me, how my life has changed so much, how everything I thought about myself has been turned on its head? I won’t start at the beginning, that is too much of a cliché, but I will say I had a conservative childhood with middle class parents bringing me up with the usual moral standards and expectations of behaviour....

Damsels In Distress Inc Team Spirit

Damsels In Distress Inc. : Team Spirit Angel stopped and turned at the sound of the horn, nervously pressing her pleated skirt against her thighs. She felt her cheeks heat up with embarrassment as a pickup truck slowed down alongside her, the passenger checking her out. She felt suddenly silly trying to pass herself off as a cheerleader. Not that she didn’t look the part, dressed in a revealing green and gold outfit. Despite having graduated last summer, she knew she could easily pass as a...

Teen Spirit

Chris’ first time didn’t happen until he was nineteen years old. Indeed, until that time he’d never even kissed a girl, though there’d been the odd time when he fancied he’d been close. But nothing he could ever be sure about. He was always very awkward with girls. In fact, he was awkward with everyone. He only had a couple of friends, Pete and Stu, who sometimes came to see him, or he would visit their homes. On these occasions, they would crank up the stereo, put on their Scorpions,...

In The Spirit

Jackson soaked in the energy of the party, smiling, sitting quietly on a stool by the bar in the dining room. She watched birthday girl Vanessa, surrounded by friends and family, open gifts in her living room. She watched Vanessa beam as her hands tore through gold wrapping paper, then squeal once she revealed a model of a blue British police box. Something from a TV show she loved. Vanessa thanked her boyfriend Jeff sitting beside her on a large, crowded sectional with a long kiss, and her...

Breaking the Wind Spirit

As one of the Ten Legendary Warrior, the Wind Spirit Warrior Kazemon was responsible to assure the peace of Alphaton town. The Major of this town, Mr. Fukushima, invited her to Royal district. The people cheered at her after she successfully prevented a human and Digimon trafficking near the bridge that connected this town to Neo Alphaton. "Thank you so much, Kazemon. Eric Olafson First Journeys Vol 2Chapter 7 American Spirit

The ‘American Spirit’ was nothing I expected a space ship to look from the inside. It was more like a luxurious villa, complete with garden, swimming pool and green lawn. We stepped through a glass sliding door under a blue sky with a single yellow sun and on the green plant surface he called grass, was a table with umbrella and a few garden chairs. Rolling hills with forests in the distance. “All simulated of course,” Alex explained. “The walls are actually only 30 meters from us, but I...

The First Book of the Merciful NunChapter 5 Sins Of The Spirit

Heather O'Hagan was a quiet girl, a studious girl, but above all an obedient girl. She was rarely admonished, and never chastised as she always tried to do what she was told by her parents, by her teachers, and above all by the Priest. Her childish confessions rarely moved to anything more serious than envy, though on occasion she admitted telling the odd white lie, and occasionally to being nasty to one of her six younger siblings. Father Creggan was a very old man, and even older in...

Young Life of White TigerChapter 29 Building Team Spirit

Chapter 29: Building Team Spirit The next week I had made some changes, if I made the baseball squad, I would need a later lift home after practice. Rory still hadn’t found a job yet, so I said I would fill the truck with gas if he would pick me up when I needed it. He was happy to agree, he had been finding it hard having the truck and not being able to use it due to lack of cash. Monday morning I checked the next list outside the Head coach’s office. I was happy to see my name was still...

Master PC Child of the ProgramChapter 16 Holiday Spirit

"Ral, dinner is ready. Mandy's on her way up to get you." Yvonne thought. Monique had already put my cock back into my pants and closed them up. She didn't bother with her bra, but only slipped her top back on. The sight of her unhindered shape under the snug shirt didn't help my mood or condition. Without a word, she opened the door just as Mandy was about to knock. "Hey," Monique said to her sister as she stepped past her. Mandy watched her go, a confused look on her face. Then...

Spirited

--- Spirited (MF, mf, Hf, F-solo, Mh, 1st, anal, best, cons, inc, magic, oral, parody, impreg, reluc) by Krosis of the Collective --- 16-year-old Heather fumed in the back seat of her parents' car. This had been their second day of traveling across the American Midwest, heading to their new home, and she was bored stiff. Even worse, it seemed that her dad had gotten them lost trying to find the world's largest ball of twine or something. "I think it's just around the bend," he said...
