Don't be a hero Why is my wonderful friend Josie dating a meathead like Brian Bates? Josie wants me to stay out of it, but I can't resist being a hero. ***** Josie was the girl down the road, and had been my best friend for as long as I could remember. Apart from being boy and girl, we were extremely similar. I was a bit of an outcast, but I was pretty good at school, especially maths and science type subjects, and I liked to read. I also liked exploring outdoors and riding my bike. But if I was just kind of smart, Josie was incredibly intelligent. Like me, she excelled at maths and science. But Josie wasn't just good; she was brilliant. On top of that, she was also amazingly well read. She was an expert on just about anything. I guess many of the girls - and boys - thought of her as a nerd. But to me, she was just someone who I had a lot in common with, and I liked to hang out with. Like me, she also liked riding her bike and exploring outdoors, when she wasn't reading. It was sometimes intimidating being around someone so intelligent, but I enjoyed her company. But for some reason, it wasn't until we were 15 that I became attracted to her. In fact, it was quite sudden. It was a Monday morning at school, and we were working together on an experiment in Mr. Divinsky's science class. Mr. Divinsky was a wonderful teacher, and always set interesting work - at least, Josie and I found it interesting. We worked in pairs, and I paired up with Josie. Partly because she was my best friend, and partly because she was the best student. As was often the case, we breezed through the work and had finished it about 10 minutes early. And as we were working, and as she was explaining things to me, I suddenly realised how HOT she was! Not only was she intelligent, but she had the prettiest, smoothest, most adorable face. The rest of her body was pretty good too. Also, down her shirt, I could see a tiny bit of cleavage. So as well as intelligent and pretty, she had a great rack! Suddenly I realised that I'd been best friends with the perfect girl, and hadn't even realised it. So towards the end of the lesson, when we had finished ahead of time, I made my move. I looked at her flawless face, and those suddenly beautiful eyes, and said, "Josie, I was wondering... we're good friends and all. But... could we go on a date some time?" Her reaction wasn't what I was expecting. She looked shocked, and then a little sad. She looked down. "No Paul, I don't think that's a good idea." "Why not." "Because... because I'm dating someone else." "Someone else?? Who?" "Brian Bates." "Brian? That dumbass? You can't be serious?" "Yeah, he's taking me out tonight." She didn't look at all happy about the prospect. "You, um, you don't seem excited by the idea. What is it about him?" "I... I dunno". Puzzled, I pressed on. "Do you like him?" "I dunno." "So why are you going out with him?" No answer. "Look, I don't know what's going on here, but I can tell you don't really want to go out with him. So why don't you hang out with me instead?" "NO! No, that's not a good idea." "Why?" "I can't say." "Look, it's cool. I'll hang out with you at lunch and pretend to be your boyfriend, so you don't have to go out with Brian." "No Paul. I know you mean well but... but just no." "Why not?" "Just trust me on this Paul. Just let me have that date with Brian." I sat silently. Then the bell went. It broke the awkwardness. We packed up and went to different classes. ***** During lunch I went to find Josie. Sure enough, she was hanging out with Brian. It was strange. It didn't look like the typical boyfriend-girlfriend thing. Brian had his arm around Josie and was hugging her close, obviously closer than Josie was comfortable with. He was talking to his friends, and was obviously enjoying "showing off" his new girlfriend. But Josie looked quite serious and not at all happy. From time to time she would speak up and say something to Brian, but most of the time she just seemed quite downcast. Eventually I thought I'd walk up to them and see what was going on. So I casually walked in their direction. "Hi Josie." "Oh, hi Paul", she said. She didn't look happy to see me, but I persisted. "Do you want to come to the library? There's some reading we should catch up on." "No, I think I've done all my work." "But, umm, there's a new edition of 'New Scientist' out with an interesting article on driverless cars." "No, I can read it online." "Beat it, Paul", said Brian. "She's hanging out with me." "Are you going to make me?" I said. "Paul, just move along..." began Josie. Brian looked at my menacingly. "He's just my neighbour, he doesn't mean any harm", Josie said to Brian. I wasn't sure if that meant Brian was likely to try to bash me. He certainly could have. Until that moment, I'd never realised quite how tall he was, or bulky and muscly he looked. Maybe that's what Josie saw in him? Anyway, I decided it was time to back off. "Well, see you 'round Josie." Brian glared as I walked off. ***** After lunch we were in the same maths class. And away from Brian, Josie seemed her normal, cheerful self. During a time when we could get up and move around, I again approached Josie. "So, what was going on there with Brian?" "Paul, please drop it. It's none of your business." "It is my business when it involves my best friend." "Just stay out of it." "But Brian's a bully. I can see he doesn't respect you." "Paul, please, don't try to be a hero." She turned away and went back to her desk. I sat and thought about what she said. But I decided I wasn't going to be deterred. Josie was a wonderful, sweet girl. It's true that Brian was tall and good looking, but he was also a complete tool. I don't know if Brian had some dirt on her or something, but I wasn't going to let him date her when she obviously wasn't happy about the idea. ***** After school was track practice. Brian and I were both on the team. Brian, being a muscly guy, focused on sprinting and throwing events. I was much leaner, and did distance running. It was rare to have any spectators, but Josie was there, watching. Her demeanour was rather different from at lunch time. She was just looking all around, and seemed to be thinking quite intently. In between some laps, I jogged up to her. "Hi Josie!" "Paul, just move on!" "What?" "Just move on. You don't want to get on the wrong side of Brian." "What? I'm not afraid of Brian." "Paul!" she hissed. "Hey you!" said a voice behind me. It was Brian. "Why are you talking to my girlfriend?" "Since when was she your girlfriend?" I asked. "Since this morning. She's mine." "Yours? She's not a piece of property, she's a person." "Yeah but she's still mine. Aren't you, Josie?" Josie looked down and mumbled "Yeah". "Look I don't know what's going on here, but show her some respect." I said. "What, are you going to make me?" Paul stood in my way, towering over me. I took a half step back. Paul grabbed Josie's butt. "I'll catch up with you after practice," he said, "I can't wait to see how good that body of yours looks!" That was too much for me. As he jogged past, I gave a little push. To my delight, Brian lost his balance and tripped. Paul looked up in anger. "YOU... you are going to PAY!" Brian hissed. "Yeah right", I said with false bravado. But before he could do anything else, Mr. Jones, the track coach, began to walk over. "Brian, the discus ring is free now if you want to do some throws", said Mr. Jones. Brian glared as he jogged off. Josie looked at me, "That was noble, but you shouldn't have done that", she whispered. "Please stay out of his way!" "I'm not scared of him," I replied, "and I'm not sure what you see in him." And I jogged off too. ***** After I'd finished my laps, I headed for the showers. I saw Brian watching me leave. Was he going to try to follow me in to the change rooms and and pick a fight? I had no idea. When I got to the change room, there was no one else there. So I quickly stripped off for my shower. Hopefully I could be quick enough to get out before he arrived. But just as I was about to run the water, Brian walked into the change rooms. "Where are you, Smith?" I heard him call. I quickly wrapped a towel around my waist, and stepped out. "What do you want?" He looked at me menacingly. "Why are you so interested in me and Josie?" "Because she's my friend." "Well your 'friend' is about to become my conquest. So you just back off. Maybe I'll let you hang out with her when I'm done with her." "When you're done with her?" I replied angrily. "She's not some thing to be used. She's a person." "She's a hot girl!" "So? Girls deserve respect!" "Do they just, do they?" Brian seemed to sink into thought. "You think girls deserve respect, do you?" "Yes." "And you think girls are equal to boys?" "Of course." I replied. "You're going to regret standing up for my girl, Paul!" I retreated to my shower, and he walked around and looked at me. I didn't like the look. It was menacing, almost hungry. He reached around the corner. What was he going to do? Was he going to remove my towel, take a photo and blackmail me? I prepared in case I'd need to lunge at him. But it wasn't a camera. It was a small vase. "I guess you're wondering what this is," said Brian. "It's a magic lamp. You're going to wish you never got on the wrong side of me." I just looked, puzzled at his calm demeanour. "Since you respect girls so much... I wish... to remold Paul's reality... like THIS!" he said as he pointed a finger at me. Suddenly I was enveloped in a glow of light. I tried to move, and realised I couldn't. I was stuck, naked except for a towel, in front of Brian. "Let's see, let's see, what shall we do?", he said, as he walked up to me. He rubbed his hands along my arms, "Those arms, that pushed me, let's get some of the hair off" he brushed and hair seemed to melt off them. "And let's thin them down so he can't try pushing me again." He rubbed his hands up and down each arm. Were they getting thinner? "And that face, far too rugged." He pushed and squeezed my face. I wasn't sure what was happening. He tugged on my hair. "And let's lengthen that hair a little... good." "And that neck, that's far too jagged." He rubbed and smoothed by neck. What was going on? I was panting, but my breath sounded... different. Higher. "And those legs, far too hairy, let's shave those legs for you." He rubbed up and down each leg, and my legs suddenly looked smooth and hairless. I also noticed myself lose a little height. "And those hips, we need to widen them a bit." He rubbed a hand on each hip, and I could feel myself widen slightly down there, and I seemed to lose a little more height. "That stomach and chest, far too toned." he rubbed them and they went smooth, and what little six pack I had lost all definition. "There. What a soft, smooth, girly body. I'm tempted to leave you like that, but I've got better plans for you..." He pulled the towel away. I gasped - a strangely high pitched gasp - but that was the least of my worries, since I couldn't move. What was he going to do? I still didn't see what Brian was up to. "That thing down there... you call that a penis? That's one of the smallest I've seen in the showers. What's the point of having a penis if it's going to be that small?" I was confused. Where was this heading? "What you need is a smooth, juicy, vagina!" He grabbed my penis and balls and squeezed and pushed. At first there was pain, as he squeezed and squeezed. But then it felt like he was pushing my privates inside my body. Finally he was finished pushing, and the pain subsided. I looked down in horror. Although I couldn't move my head to see properly, my body didn't look right: I couldn't see my dick. I could sense it, but where were it? It felt like it was inside of me. But they couldn't be, could they? "And finally, some nice pert boobs." He reached to my chest and grabbed two handfuls. Impossibly, my flesh bulged out in his hands, settling into two medium sized, but very feminine, boobs. "And your new name is Paula. DONE" The light disappeared and I could move again. My hand reached to my groin and instantly I could tell it did not feel right. How can I describe it? For my whole lifetime there had been something there, and now there was nothing. Well, maybe something underneath the pubic hair, but I didn't want to even think about that at the moment. All I could feel at the moment though was pubic hair where it had always been, but the penis and balls which used to stick out it were just... gone. "What have you done-" I said, and stopped. My voice was high. Impossibly, unnaturally high. "Surely it's obvious Paula. You stood up to me, and you've paid the price. I've used magic to change reality. To everyone in the world, you're Paula now." "And that's a mighty fine body, if I might say so myself. A virgin, I suspect. But it doesn't need to stay that way..." He pulled his shorts down, revealing the largest penis I'd ever seen. His impossibly large penis began to straighten. How big was it going to get? I backed away, "No, no" I said, still unaccustomed to my own voice. "Come now, Paula, I'll be gentle. Actually no, I think I'll be a little rough." "No" I had no choice but to scream, "NO!" "Is there a girl in there?". Brian stopped. It was Mr. Jones. "What's going on in there?" Brian quickly pulled his shorts up and walked around to meet him. "Hi Mr. Jones. I think Paula went into the wrong change rooms. I walked in on her by accident" he said. "Is that true? Are you in there Paula?" I reached for a towel and tried to cover myself. I had no idea how to wrap it, so I held it in front of me, covering my whole torso. "Yeah, I'm in here!" I called out in my shrill voice. "Well, you'd better get yourself into the girls' change rooms. I'll wait at the door." I went to my bag. My underpants had been replaced by girls' panties. Still in a daze, I pulled them on. The feeling of pulling them up over no penis was strange, but there was no time to dwell on that. I was in a panic. I quickly found athletics shorts and a singlet and pulled them on. I didn't bother with a bra. Then I put my socks and running shoes back on, though the shoes had obviously changed to a smaller size. I grabbed my bag, quickly said "Sorry about that" to Mr. Jones, and exited the change rooms. "Are you ok Paula?" said Mr. Jones. True to Brian's word, he apparently he only knew me as Paula. "Yeah, I'm ok. I... I was just tired and walked into the wrong change room." I began to walk down the corridor. "Aren't you going to the girls' change rooms?" asked Mr. Jones. But at the moment I just wanted to get as far away from Brian as possible. "No, I've got to get home. I... got a text that I've got to get home quickly. Bye!" And with that I walked out as quickly as I could, trying not to look panicked. ***** I headed straight for the bike sheds. I was hoping I still had a bicycle to ride home. I still had a bike lock key, so I decided I must have one. I found a girls' bike that looked rather like mine had, in the place I'd parked mine. Sure enough, the key opened its lock. Riding home was an interesting experience in itself. I wondered why the seat was wider and with an indent in the middle, but I soon understood why. It was strange not having to position myself so my balls were safe. I just sat - and there I was. Nothing to adjust. I also found there was a sensitive area right underneath - my new vagina. But the indent meant I wasn't leaning on it. Not that I dwelled on it much, because I was pedalling home as fast as I could. I got home and went in the door. "Hi Paula" said my mum. Yes, it was true. Even my family thought I was Paula. "Paula, you look a mess!" "Yes, I didn't feel like showering at school." "You're not wearing a bra, young lady!" "Yes, it... it got uncomfortable. So I thought I'd just rush home and get cleaned up. I'll just go to my room now." I'm not sure if my explanation convinced her, but she let it pass. I went to my room and shut my door. Finally, I was alone. I looked around. As I was half expecting by now, it was a girl's room. The decor was dominated by pink and purple. All my model cars were gone, replaced by cute toys and nail polish. But there was no time for that. I had to see what Brian had done to me. I realised there was a mirror in the corner. I looked - and my own reflection looked back. The face was identical, except perhaps a little rounder, with shoulder length hair. But the body was obviously a girl's. Nervously, I took the top off. There were two huge boobs. Well, they probably weren't that huge, probably about a B cup. But on my own chest, which was narrower than before, they looked huge. I couldn't believe they were on me. Finally, I pulled my shorts and panties down. Even though I'd seen myself ever so briefly in the school change rooms, I couldn't believe my eyes. My penis was gone. In its place, underneath the hair, was a vertical indent. My labia. I felt, and the labia felt rather like a scrotum - with no balls in it. But to feel around, rub my scrotum, and to have no penis or balls anywhere, was indescribably foreign. I began to cry. Just then, there was a loud knock on my bedroom door. "Paula, are you there?" said my Mum. "I... I'm just getting changed!" I called back, in my unfamiliar high voice. I was completely nude except for my running shoes. I looked around and saw a pink dress gown draped on my chair, and pulled it on. "Well, Josie's here. Can she come in?" "Yeah, sure." The door opened and in walked Josie. ***** "Hi Josie." "Um, hi... Paula." Josie stared at me in shock for several seconds. "Have you... have you had something strange happen to you?" she asked. "Um... yeah." "Did you... used to be... different?" "Yeah." "Did... did Brian do something to you?" "He did!" I said in relief. Someone remembered! "Do you... do you remember me as... someone with a different name?" "Yes." She closed her eyes as if to concentrate. "Yes, I can remember you as Paul." Instinctively I hugged her. "Oh thank you. At least someone remembers me. So you know what happened?" "I think I can guess. Brian held a lamp, made a wish and changed you." I nodded. "Yep. So... do you know... by any chance... how to change me back?" She was silent for a moment. "No, I don't think there is." "Why not?" She went on. "because... Brian changed me too." "What do you mean?" "I used to be a boy called Joe. Until this morning." I was speechless. "Why do you think we were such good friends? It's because in reality, we were both boys!" She went on, "Close your eyes and concentrate. You should be able to remember me as Joe." I closed my eyes and racked my memory. Joe? Yes Joe, my best friend Joe! It was like a switch flicked in my brain, and suddenly every memory of Josie morphed into a memory of Joe. All those times bike riding and hanging out - those were with a boy called Joe! Playing video games - with a boy called Joe. And trips to the beach and the pool and joking around in the change rooms - they were definitely with a boy called Joe! It all fell into place. All those things I'd done with Josie, I had actually done with Joe. "Wow, yes, of course. You're my best friend Joe..." After a moment I continued, "So how did it happen to you?" So Josie told me... ***** Interlude - Josie's story: It was this morning. Today was an ordinary Monday morning. I was riding my bike past the dump to school. I looked and I noticed Brian was inside the dump, looking over an the old lamp. I stopped to watch to see what he'd do. Then Brian said something, and all this light surrounded him. I could tell from his face that he wasn't expecting this, so I knew it was the first time he'd used the lamp. Then he said something else and I saw him grow taller and more muscular. I'm not sure if I imagined it, but the front of his pants seemed to bulge too. He turned himself into his vision of the ideal teenage male, I guess. Then the glowing stopped. Obviously this was a magic lamp. But I knew immediately that it could be dangerous in Brian's hands, so I had to somehow get a look at the lamp. So I walked over and tried to talk to him as if nothing had happened. "Hi Brian, how are you?" "Err, good" said Brian suspiciously. "Can I take a look at that?" "No, what's it to you? I found it, it's mine." I thought more. How could I buy time? I decided I had to bring it up. "I saw what happened a minute ago." "You did?" "Nice change. You look good." He dropped his guard a bit, and it allowed me to get a better look at the the lamp. I could tell that without doubt it was a Persian lamp - it looked exactly like the ones I'd seen in books. This meant that Brian had incredible power. I know what a nasty person Brian is. So somehow I had to get the lamp off him. Or failing that, pretend to be his friend so I could talk him out of abusing his power, or trick him out of it. Then, fatefully, I took a gamble: "So... since I saw... could you perhaps do something similar for me?" Brian thought. "Yes, ok... I'll change you..." "I wish to remold Joe... into Josie!" Suddenly I was surrounded by light, and could not move. But I knew, in that instant, what was going to happen. I'd seen the magic change Brian, so there was no doubt in my mind that it would change me into a girl. I felt an itching in my head, and realised that my hair was growing out. I felt my body shrink slightly, as I could see that Brian seemed even taller. My arms, my legs, my shoulders all contracted. I felt a pain in my neck, which I now realise was my voice box adjusting. I felt my chest expand, as my new breasts pushed out. I felt a bra appear around them. And finally, inevitably, I felt my balls and penis retract into my body. "DONE", Brian said. Then the glow went away, and I could move again. Despite the shock, I knew I had to keep my cool. "What-" I stopped in shock at my high voice. "Why did you do that?" "You think I've forgotten what a pain you are? That time you busted me trying to pick the bike locks? The times you stopped me beating up that weed Smith? You always were an interferer Joe. Well not any more. Let's see you stop me pushing kids around now... Josie!" I was horrified, but I tried to gather my thoughts. I didn't want to be a girl, but unless I could convince him to change me back, I was stuck. ***** "That's why I followed him around, all day, pretending to be his girlfriend. I had to stop him misusing his magic.", finished Josie. "I guess that's why I never fancied you until this morning." I mused. She gave a tiny smile back. "But if that's the case, why are you here, and not still with him?", I asked. "Because he's used his wishes up! A Persian lamp only grants three wishes. When I saw you riding home, I knew what had happened. So I know he's used all his wishes now: one on himself, one on me, and his last one on you." Josie smiled, "Brian's probably at home right now, cursing the lamp because it's run out of wishes!" She continued, "So the good news is we've stopped Brian. But that news is we're stuck like this." I thought for a moment. "But what about the lamp? If one of us gets it, we'll be the new owner, and we can use it to change ourselves back..." But I could see she was shaking her head. "No, that's not how it works. You need to free a genie from captivity after a long time. I've researched it. Some books say 100 years. Some say 40 years. Either way, it's decades." "Face it Paula, we're stuck as girls. Well for the next 40 years, at least." I didn't know what to say. "But look on the bright side," she continued. "We've stopped Brian. Brian is a nasty person. He could have used his wishes for something horrible. Once I realised it was a Persian lamp, I knew it only granted three wishes. I also knew that he'd also used up two. So I just had to influence his third wish. Preferably, to change me back. But failing that, I hoped to divert him from using it in some evil way." "Unfortunately, you diverted him first. You coaxed him into using his last wish, even if you didn't mean to." Josie went on, "That was a heroic thing you did today. Magic fell into the wrong hands, but you and I stopped Brian from abusing that magic - even if it cost both of us our manhoods." "So even though you told me not to be a hero - I guess I am" I replied "In fact, I guess we're both heroes." "Correction: heroines", she smiled again. "Accidental heroines. And secret heroines, because no one except Brian knows what we've done. But yes, we're heroines." ***** Epilogue: And so that is how Joe and I became Josie and Paula. We went from best buddies, to best girl friends. Being magically transformed into a girl was a shock, but with Josie undergoing the same change, somehow it was easier. We've learned periods, dating, girl clothes, and just behaving as girls in general, together. But to be honest, since Josie is so intelligent and well-read, it is always her teaching me. The only one who knows about us originally being boys, is Brian. He tried to tease us about it once, but what can he do? "Yes, we're female, what's your point?" It's not as if he can tease us about magically changing us, in front of anyone else. If he did, he'd be the one looking crazy. In fact, I'm sure Brian's frustrated at the fact that he used two of his three wishes turning two of his enemies into girls, when we give off the appearance of being happy as girls. Or is it just an appearance? Josie and I have talked about it, and we ARE happy this way. I'll admit it, the first few days were hard. Every morning I'd wake up to the shock of not having a penis. Then I'd have to wear a bra, sit to pee, dress like a girl, behave like a girl. But with Josie going through the same thing, there was the sense of going through this together. And then, after a few weeks, we both found that we were getting used to it. Now, a few months later, I'm enjoying being a girl. Maybe I've got used to it, or maybe being a girl really is better. Either way, I never want to go back. I can't imagine a penis or balls - they would only get in the way. I love having boobs, I love my curves, I love being able to be pretty. Brian was trying to be cruel, but instead he did us a favour. Josie and I are embracing girlhood, which I'm sure only frustrates Brian even more. I don't regret being a hero.

Hometown Hero

Not a lot of sex. As always, I want to thank my editors, LadyCibelle and Techsan, for making my story a much better read as well as their suggestions. Chapter 1 I was getting dressed to go to the Fourth of July party. I recently returned home from the service. I was asked to wear my uniform with my latest medals. You see, I was considered a hero in our town. I don’t see myself as a hero, I just did what any soldier would have done in my situation. I’ll try to explain exactly what happened. ...

GSP Chapter 713 What Makes a Hero

G.S.P. Chapter 7 What Makes a Hero? Fang moved through the streets in wolf form carefully following the smell that she tracked. The smells of the many humans closeness to her assaulted her from all directions, but she had no problem moving forward. People parted from her presence, startled by her larger than expected size. Possibly there might be trouble if anyone called the police about a large wolf moving freely in the city, but hopefully she had made enough appearances with the super...

Like a Hero

My head was spinning. Absolutely spinning, and it wasn't just the glass of champagne. The last month, the last year even, had been a complete blur. From high school swim meets, to a generous college scholarship, to the Olympic trials, to the eight days I spent in the Athletes' Village, to the medal stand (three times), to the media circus back home, to this bathroom in the swankiest hotel in the capitol city of the state I was born in. How could so much happen to one person in so little time?...

Death of the Hero

A Hero's death need not always be literally. As the old saying goes, you either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villian. But in doing so a Hero is dead anyways. Gone are the morals and the justice. No longer are they a role model for the youngsters. Often they don't even maintain the same appearance or name. So in essence they are dead regardless. And this is one such story. Our Hero doesn't meet her life's end, but her no beginning as something not quite what she used...

An Unlikely Hero

Ok it was like this I needed furniture for my dorm room such as a comfort chair or maybe a futon or something like that. Hell even a better mattress for the bed would be nice. However I am your typical first year college student. I'm broke all the time. So when I was heading home to my parents' house (Just so they could feed me on the weekend) I noticed a sign that said "estate auction today." Well that sign had an arrow pointing down a cross road of the state highway I was on. I thought to...

Hero

Hero By Cassandra Morgan I knew better, dammit. I was smarter than this. From the time I first dragged a pair of panties up my legs, I have been scared to death of being caught, and the fear has made me sharp. I was never one of those transvestites who secretly wants to get caught by his mom or his wife or his co-workers. I always knew it would start a river of trouble flowing. So I knew better. Hell, I dressed before I went home, but not after. It was just for self-protection....

PterisChapter 2 Recruiting A Hero

Daniel started. “All my life I have been a nerd. While in college, I was a charter member of the Society for Creative Anachronism. I fenced in high school, and when the SCA was founded, I expanded into all sorts of medieval weaponry. I became super nerd.” “When I was a little older than you are now, I was recruited,” he paused for effect, “by a smooth talking guy who said that my knowledge could be put to rewarding uses. I could never have known how rewarding! And now, I’m going to recruit...

My Personal Hero

My Personal Hero By RogerGirl "Mom, can you help me with something?" my older son asks calling to me from his room. "What is it, honey?" I ask as I come in his room. "I don't want you to freak out or anything, but can you dress me up like you?" he asks nervously. "You want me to dress you up like a woman?" I ask a little surprised. Jake has never shown any interest in cross-dressing before and he had a girlfriend, so I admit I am a little confused. Maybe he's been...

My Hero

I had a small house in a quiet neighborhood. Much different than the crowded city where I grew up. My neighbors mostly kept to themselves. An older couple on one side and a single mother with two teens on the other side. The kids were no problem, mostly everyone just waved in passing. As I said, a quiet neighborhood, no problems, until Saturday night. I'd gone out on the back deck about 8 pm. No particlar reason, mostly to enjoy the cooler evening air after a warm day. I had a t shirt and...

I was lifting weights before school when my phone rang. I got off the leg press, to let Wolf have his turn. I answered the phone. "This is David." "Morning, stud," Missy said. "What's up?" "I have some bad news. I can't come up this weekend." "I was looking forward to seeing you. How come you can't make it?" "It's a family thing. Something came up, and I have to go home. Can I call you next week, and set something up?" "You bet." "Great, I'll talk to you next...

Jasons TaleChapter 14 A New Hero

I was sorta expecting it, but it was still a surprise the first time an Earth Hero came through our bank. We had quite a few men who wanted to be crew on our warships and earn some easy money but could not swim, and I had to have something for them to do. I set four of them up as pairs of bank guards so that if anything happened one could continue to watch while the other went for help. One pair had the mornings and the other pair had the afternoons. I still remembered the bank at Long Cut...

The Sissification of a Hero

Izuku Midoriya loved being a hero. He loved saving people with a smile and giving strength to the weak. He loved the feeling of doing something great and the happiness that followed from the people around him. Something he did not love however was paperwork. Sadly however, with great responsibility comes a great amount of paper-work. Especially if you're the number one hero with your own hero agency. Izuku groaned loudly and put the pen down as he finished his fourth damage report of the day....

Herakles the Hero

Kalliste Periakes was humming to herself as she pushed through the door of the bar. "The Cubs need pitching," she announced to everyone in the bar... She was a young-looking woman with a thick mass of black hair, wide eyes and a generous mouth. Today she was wearing a Chicago Cubs jersey and jeans, not the usual attire for a graduate student at Northwestern University. "Amen, sister," one man said. "The starting pitching looked pretty good, but the relievers..." He shook his head sadly...

Her Hero

I couldn’t sleep. I had been trying for what seemed like hours. So, I went for a walk to the park, hoping that would allow me to checkmate the sandman. That’s when I came upon the situation. A guy and a girl in what seemingly looked like an argument. Finding myself not ready to return home yet, I decided to eavesdrop on the squabble. From what I gathered he was her boyfriend and wanted a piece of her ‘teasing’ ass, as he so quaintly put it. I thought to myself, ‘I don’t blame him.’ The girl...

All characters in this story are over twenty one except the baby. Morton Franks was out for his Sunday walk. He liked the peace and quiet of the neighborhood on Sunday. His route took him around the park and then down Oak Street. He was a mile from his house when he saw the smoke. The smoke was coming from a small house set back off the road. As he approached a woman came screaming out of the front door followed by a blast of smoke and flame. ‘My baby! My baby!’ she screamed, ‘I can’t find my...

He stopped abruptly, a shotgun pointed at his belly. ‘Who are you?’ asked the gunman, blue eyes looking coldly through eye slits in his hood. ‘The computer guy,’ Eddie croaked. ‘I don’t know the combination to the bank’s safe.’ ‘Of course you don’t,’ snarled the gunman. ‘It’s on a time...

The Heart Of A Hero

With all of the superhero stories going around, I thought that I'd try my hand at one, with a bit of a different twist. Enjoy......... Raven The Heart of a Hero The wound . . . was . . . quite fatal. Lois Lane lay in a pool of her own arterial blood. "I'll . . . go for help," whispered Jimmy Olson, trying to ease her pain. He knew that in his heart of hearts it wouldn't do any good. Still, he had to do something. "It'll be okay." Jimmy started to rise to go. Lois'...

The next morning Arron woke early, bathed and dressed in his light leather armor. He walked down to the common room for breakfast and was saluted by the desk sergeant. "Good morning, sir." "Good morning, Jerros." There was a noise outside so Arron walked to the main entrance and opened the doors. He was greeted by a loud cheer. To be a hero

This story will center itself around the main character: the hero. Well…at least that is what he will be at the start. You have to understand dear reader that most villains in real life aren’t inherently evil. They themselves do believe that what they are doing is the right thing. To clarify, this story does start out as a heroic tale. It is in fact a little generic. For example, it is set in the glorious country of the United States. The hero does at the start believe in the workings of a...

Hero

I was orphaned at an early age and lived on the street. I got my education through the public comp systems. At sixteen I got a job just off the port warehouse district as a night watcher. It was not much but I made enough to rent a one room apartment once called a studio. The area was very old and close to the port so the buildings were between six to ten stories tall. Since the area was old it was also neglected by a lot of the city maintenance workers. Few constables patrolled the area and...

A Fresh StartChapter 68 Hero

Back inside, I took another pill and drank about half a beer while getting undressed and climbing into bed. Marilyn had already fallen asleep by the time I got into the sheets. I tried to close the drapes and shut out the daylight, but the entire place had been designed to be light and airy. Even the curtains seemed bright. It didn’t matter. I was out like a light in about thirty seconds and didn’t wake until dinner time. I woke to find myself alone in the bed, but I heard the shower...

No hero

It wasn’t that Jack had ever wanted to be a soldier. It was not something he chose from a range of professions. It was simply that Jack was born into an area where poverty and hardship were the norm, where the only choice for the boys who left school was either to slave in the local coal mines, or to join one of the armed services. So when Jack left school at the tender age of fourteen, as children were allowed to do in those far off days, he worked in the dirt and blackness for two long years,...

All the characters and scenario’s are fictitious. The dangers and emotional harm are very real for those in the professions of the story. Seeing the harm done to critical care providers, and one in particular, prompted me to write the story so I am pleased that with xtchr’s help the tale reads as it should. Generic Brand Hero By Sarah Barndt Chapter 1 I was, admittedly, a loser. I was a 24-year-old college dropout who worked at a video store and lived in my parent's basement. Add to that I was 5'5, scrawny and kind of weaselly looking. Well, as you could imagine, I was beating the babes off with a stick. Actually you could describe my love life by removing the words "the babes" and "with a stick" from the last sentence. The only thing that kept my Dad from thinking I was a...

Midfield Wisconsin, a medium-sized city by Midwestern standards, lies perched high above the shores of Lake Michigan. A long Coast Guard pier juts one mile out into the lake, slants sharply to the south then out for another quarter mile. This structure helps form a channel creating one of the best harbors on the lake, from which a fleet of commercial fishing boats goes forth each morning, accompanied by hundreds of swirling, squawking gulls. In an age of time when the destruction of modern civilization slowly descends upon us we must look to a future when someone, anyone will rise up and take the reigns so long ago dropped and lift us back to our rightful path. He knew that the inner cities were going to hell and also that his student ratio had jumped by 60% over the last few years. At the ripe age of 45 he was still younger than the larger...

Growing up as a kid, I was mesmerized by Popeye, The Sailor Man. It was a collection of my grandfather’s comic books that I had inherited. It was a ridiculous cartoon strip started in the nineteen-twenties. In it, Popeye a spinach glugging nerd constantly saves Olive Oyl, an even more absurd looking creature from the advances of a gorgeous looking, butch hunk named Bluto. My Hero By Anon Allsop I slowly strolled by the dress shops, momentarily gazing into the windows and looking at the new styles from New York. I caught sight of my reflection in the window, auburn hair askew and lightly floating in the gentle breeze. I straightened my light jacket and continued to walk down the sidewalk. "How'd you like to wrap those long legs around me honey?" I glanced up, a man in a white tank had settled in beside me. He was grinning like a hungry wolf....
