LONG SHOT
By Geneva
A women's committee uses a magic book to change two men to women, to
improve the life of one and the attitude of the other.
This is a further tale of the exploits of the women's committee that
featured in five of my earlier stories, "Making the best of it, " No
Service At All", "The World is my Oyster", "Not Quite Done Yet" and "In
Committee".
START
Vera looked round at the other eight women at her dining room table. It
was getting more crowded, she thought. She had wanted to have twelve in
her committee, maybe like a jury, she thought with a little smile, but
she would definitely have to get a bigger table.
Amanda, a co-founder of the committee, sat on her right, dressed in a
smart patterned green dress that complemented her red hair. Beside her
sat dark haired Rose, another founder member, more casually dressed in a
patterned tee top and tight pink jeans that curved in all the right
places.
Her eyes running round the table anticlockwise, Vera looked at the
others in the committee, Becky, a policewoman, but in her civilian
clothes, a loose blue sweater and jeans. Next was Helga, an accountant,
in a dark gray pant suit over a cream blouse, its color only marginally
lighter that her very blonde hair, then brown haired Katya, a lawyer, in
a black pin-striped skirted suit over a white blouse. To her right was
Lori, a consultant, wearing a smart slim-fitting burgundy colored dress,
her hands clasped in front of her, not quite hiding the sparkling new
engagement ring that she had proudly shown off when she had arrived and
last, Janice, their newest member, a high school science teacher. in a
multi-colored floral blouse and black leggings. Other than Katya, they
were all younger than Vera, mostly in their twenties. Two other members,
Kathy and Sue, had been too busy at work and sent their apologies.
Vera, as founder, and also as the most senior member, had fallen
automatically into chairing the committee's meetings. It was not that
Vera was old: she was only in her early fifties. She no longer looked
young, she thought regretfully and when she examined her face in the
mirror she saw a few crowsfeet at the corners of her eyes. Still, her
dark brown hair showed only a few gray hairs above her ears and her slim
figure still showed enough curves under her brown slacks and gold
blouse. That spell or incantation, whatever it was, had taken years off
her appearance.
As they arrived he others had duly admired Lori's ring. "You used to
wear an antique ring. You said it brought you luck. Where is it now?"
Amanda asked.
"Oh, I've still got it. Just changed hands." And Lori waved her right
hand.
The chatter died away and they looked at Vera expectantly. She ran a
tight ship and the clock was right on two. Taking advantage of the
relative quiet she tapped the table with a small gavel and smiled at her
friends.
"All right, as chair of our committee let me bring this to order again
after our break and set about our business. Helga has already passed out
a statement on what money we have in the bank so we are all fine there.
Any questions?
"All right, if there are none let's get to my report." She sat back in
her chair and looked at her notes. "This committee has been doing its
work for two years now. During that time we have carried out twelve
'operations', as you might say. So that is about one person about every
two months. Let me reiterate our method. We use a magic spell that I got
from an old woman and when it's read to any man it makes him into a
woman. We tell them what is going to happen, hopefully to make it a good
lesson to them.
"Note that I said 'magic'. Most people find this totally unbelievable in
this day and age. I still can hardly believe it either as it's just not
rational. So, again, to remind you all, yet again," Vera smiled, " not
one breath of this must get out from this committee, well, other than
our subjects.
"We choose our subjects too so that they would be looked on as simply
delusional if they ever got so inclined as to tell about it to other
people. We have run our operations carefully and, as far as I know, we
have not had any comeback at all to us or our operations. Becky tells us
they don't appear to have been noticed by the police, or any other
authority either. Let's keep it that way!
"Our mandate has been to remove these men, former men, I should say,
from positions where they have been routinely insulting, bullying or
taking advantage of women, or subjecting them to any kind of demeaning
behavior. Some of them have actually adapted to their drastically
changed lives. We don't know about others. Whether they are successful
in their following life is not our concern. If their change turns out to
work well for them, that's fine. If not, too bad!
"As you know, some of our subjects have totally disappeared. In some
ways it would be nice to know what happened to them as we do not want to
endanger their lives or even their health." She gave a cynical smile.
"Well, maybe the longer they live the longer they may regret their past
actions and behavior. For those we are able to trace, we like to monitor
them over two years to see how successful our plans and actions have
been. That way we can change or adapt as necessary.
"But to summarize, I can say the results have been very satisfactory. We
have improved the lives of many women. That was our aim.
"So, for past business, let's have an update on our last operation.
Becky and Kathy? You planned the operation several weeks ago on Henry
Briscombe, although we all helped in it to greater or lesser extent. Can
you give us an update?"
Becky looked round the table. "I think we ran a good con on him. Vera,
you and Amanda helped enormously too."
Vera's mind flickered back to an afternoon she had spent with Henry.
Just part of their con, she thought, but physically it had been
satisfying. The sex would have been his last time as a man, she thought,
and maybe as a woman too for some time.
Becky took a few seconds to shuffle through the notes in front of her.
"Henry was a con man, all sleaze under a polished shell, so we changed
him, but to keep the new female identity out of the same kind of
business we also framed her for a couple of attempted crimes. However,
she can't prove who she was. Maybe she won't want to, but anyway she
can't make bail and she's in jail. Maybe it was a punishment, but then,
Henry had been a criminal.
"Of course, her story is unbelievable so I'm not sure what the final
outcome will be but Henry's days of taking advantage of women are over,
unless the woman he's become attempts some cons on men. Or lesbian
women, that is, when he ...she gets out of jail." Becky laughed. "Maybe
in jail! So, we'll keep an eye on her. We never did give her a woman's
name and I don't know if she's chosen one."
"Good, so keep monitoring that."
Various members reported some on some past committee work then Vera
looked round her committee. "So, new business next. We should identify
some new candidate. Does anyone have a suggestion?"
Lori held up her hand immediately. Lori was not quite a founder of the
group, but she had been in it almost as long as Rose. Lori had been born
a man, and had been called Ken but at Rose's suggestion had helped them
when they first got the book by letting it be tested on himself. It had
worked well and the new Lori had actually taken a major part in their
first operation. A shy colorless man had become a poised, attractive
young woman. Vera was happy for her and her newly announced engagement.
So that was all of her committee except herself and Becky in some sort
of relationship, Vera thought. Amanda had got married just two months
before.
Vera wondered what she would suggest. "Lori? You have someone?"
Lori took a deep breath. "As you all know, I was born a male." She
blushed slightly. "But I was increasingly unhappy. It's a clich? but I
really felt like a woman stuck in a man's body. So, when Rose offered me
the chance to become a woman it was like a lifeline to a better life, a
pathway to the real me. I still can hardly thank Rose and this committee
enough."
Rose waved her hand dismissively. "Glad to do it."
Lori continued. "However, as a man, the kind of man I was, I got to know
some men in the same situation as I was. That's how I identified Jim who
also helped in our very first operation and was changed like me. She
took the name Julie. Like me she is delighted with the result.
"Anyhow, sorry, I'm going on a bit but. So, there was another guy I met
a few years ago. I think he was probably just as unhappy a male as I
was, maybe more so. His name was Lance, Lance Bessier.
"We used to run across each other in bars and exchange a few words in
passing. Later we got to comparing notes, you might say. Then I was
offered the chance to use the spell. After that I needed to be careful
so I didn't talk to him again although I saw him on and off at the same
places he used to hang out at. Not that he would have recognized me now
with my genuine woman's body. Then, even if he had, he would immediately
have wondered at my appearance. I always keep in mind that we have to
keep the knowledge of the book's magic as secret as possible. Yes, my
appearance is quite changed. I have to thank you all once again for
making it available for me."
"However, then Lance just seemed to drop out of sight. I hadn't seen him
for months until the other day.
"I was going into the mall when I saw him with another man getting out
of a car. It looked like they were going to do some shopping, but Lance
seemed just a bit reluctant. It was as if the other guy was forcing him,
maybe not physically, just making comments and by his body language.
"I didn't try to speak to Lance. He only knew me as a man, like him, who
had tried a bit of crossdressing.
Vera thought back to the awkward man Ken, now Lori, with a badly
coordinated collection of unsuitable, ill fitting and shabby women's
clothes. Now Lori had become one of the most smartly dressed and poised
women in her committee and doing well in her business and now in her
personal life.
"Sorry, I'm rambling again," apologized Lori. "Let me carry on. There
was something about the way they carried themselves that was just a bit
off, but I had my own shopping to do. Anyway, I had got what I wanted
and I was heading to get some coffee when I saw them again outside a
lingerie store. I could see that Lance was uncomfortable. He just looked
totally embarrassed. His companion was essentially ordering him into the
store.
"There was something about the situation that was just a bit, well...
strange and I wondered what was going on. So, when his companion finally
pulled Lance into the store, I gulped down my coffee and strolled in too
and pretended to be looking through some panties and bras, but keeping
just a bit close to Lance and his buddy. I say 'buddy' but it didn't
look like a buddy system at all. This guy was a bully! They were looking
through some women's nightwear, sheer frilly stuff. It was totally
feminine stuff, maybe even a bit over the top. But the other guy was
having Lance hold up different pieces against himself. Lance looked as
if he was terribly embarrassed.
"Maybe the shop girls were embarrassed too as they kept well away until
the manageress directed one assistant to them offer them to help. I
thought the girl was very helpful and to give her credit, she handled
the situation very professionally.
"Then I was flabbergasted when after selecting a couple of nightgowns,
really sheer, frilly, lacy ones, they started looking at corsets. Not
just decorative stuff, the type to use as outerwear, even with jeans,
this was serious stuff, meant for underwear, with garters attached for
stockings.
"The older guy, I heard Lance call him Max although I once heard
'master' too, his manner started getting worse. Lance was getting bright
red, and clearly uncomfortable while Max 's tone got more and more
bossy. The poor salesgirl was helping as much as she could then she
started getting the edge of Max's tongue as well.
"The sales manager must have heard and when she came over Max complained
to her. Lord knows what about, maybe some fussy little detail. She kept
very polite and finally when they'd chosen a red corset she took the
articles to the cash desk. Something else must have triggered Max off as
even at the cash desk he got on some other rant. The manager was keeping
her lips very tight. The things were for Lance but I noticed it was paid
on a credit card that Max pulled out.
"Lance looked over at me more than once. Maybe he wondered what I was
thinking about a man getting lingerie.
"He must have commented to the other one, Max, as he turned round to
me.' What are you looking at, lady? Mind your own f.... g business!' he
snarled so I just quickly took my stuff, paid for it and got out as fast
as I could."
I was so mad and embarrassed that I needed to cool down and I went to a
coffee shop before I went home. But I was horrified when they both came
into the shop too. Fortunately I was out of Max's view. Something there
got him again and he had some words with the poor woman serving at the
counter. I saw her take quite a few deep breaths. Max was belligerent
while Lance just stood quietly, by him, holding his bag of purchases and
still looking very embarrassed. He had seen me but he didn't mention it
to Max.
"Sounds a right nasty case, " observed Amanda.
"I didn't like the situation at all. There was Max's offensive behaviour
and Lance was totally under his thumb. So I let my curiosity get the
better of me, I'm afraid, and when they came out of the mall I had my
car ready and I followed them until they got out with their purchases.
In fact, they don't live too far away from here, just two or three
blocks going east. I watched for a bit and neither came back out. You
know, I think they live together and Max keeps Lance maybe not like a
female slave, but well under his thumb.
"I would like to suggest that we investigate this. Max is abusive to
women and I think he could benefit from a real adjustment, the kind our
book does."
Helga held up her hand. " Yes, I agree, he sounds like a real piece of
work. But, the trouble is, apart from what you've found, Lori, we've no
information on him at all. Before we can make any plans we need to find
what the exact situation is. Look, give us the address and Lance's name
and I'll start looking through various city or other directories to see
if they can tell us anything. We need to get Max's surname to begin
with. So, I'll see what I can find and we can discuss it, say a couple
of weeks?"
"Thanks, Lori," said Vera. "All right, this guy Max sounds as if he
needs our attention. Does any one else have a candidate?"
"I had one," said Becky, "but Max sounds like a better candidate. Wait a
minute!" she exclaimed. "I just remembered. Max is his name? What's his
street address?"
"It's forty one Monroe Avenue," said Lori.
Becky gave a grin. "Then we may be in luck! I remember about a month
back there was a complaint against a Max Vendage who lived on that
street. He had got into an altercation with a neighbour. Called her all
sorts of names. I'll see if I can sneak this information out of the
computer at work and I'll get back to the committee on them."
The next committee meeting was two weeks later and after some business
Lori reported to the committee what she and Becky had found.
"Okay, Max Vendage is the name. He's in his late twenties. He's self-
employed as a painter decorator, but has no business partners or
employees, a one-man outfit. He's also originally from out of town and
has no relatives here at all.
"He's got a record. There were no charges eventually filed on the
altercation that I mentioned before but his information was already in
the system. Apparently two years previously there had been a minor
assault on a woman. It looks like an argument that got out of control.
She said he pushed her but there were no witnesses so he ended up with a
warning, and being ordered to get counselling for anger management.
"Then there was an earlier one. Five years back there was another minor
assault on a streetwalker. It was supposed to go to trial, but then she
disappeared."
Vera sat back. "Disappeared? Do they think he had anything to do with
that?"
"At first, but she later turned up in a the next county. The police let
it drop.
"Now, I checked on Lance's background too. He's also from out of town.
He was once picked up on a raid on a gay bar looking for drugs. There
was suspicion he was a male prostitute but no charges were laid. That
was several years ago. According to other records he is in the same
residence as Max."
Helga nodded. "So we have a case of two guys living together, a dominant
bullying type and a submissive. Their sexual relationship is none of our
business, but we do have an issue with Max's bullying and abusive
behaviour to women. So I think we should try book therapy on him."
"So, any ideas how we do it?" asked Amanda.
Vera turned to Lori. "Lori, you said earlier that you thought Lance was
-uh- a bit like Ken was, I mean, unhappy as a man and he's taken the
submissive part in this relationship with Max. It also looks pretty
clear that Max makes him use women's outfits. Maybe he has Lance cross-
dress all the time he is at home. It would be good to only do Max, but
it may be difficult to get Max by himself. I was wondering, if Lance is
unhappy as a man, he would object to himself getting changed by our book
of tricks. I mean to be made into a genuine woman. It might make him
happy. What do you think, Lori?"
"Yes, I think he's kinda like I was. I certainly benefitted from what
you did. I think he would too. He'd look on it as a reward."
Vera leaned back in her chair. "So, maybe we could get Lance to read the
spell? Lance would get what he wanted. Max would get what we wanted."
"Win-win on two counts, but maybe not for Max," laughed Katya. "But
then, he may become a much better person as a woman than he is currently
as a man. He would be totally bewildered and it might change his
attitude."
Vera nodded. "But we still need to know more about them and the hours
they keep and try to find a way to get them together. We've even
kidnapped people in the past but they were single. Max lives with Lance.
Somehow we have to get them together when we read the spell. Max gets
out and about with his work but from what I am told, Lance is almost
housebound. We don't want our faces to be known either. We'd need
disguises. Still, they should know why the spell is being administered
to them. Then they fall unconscious and they just wake up changed.
"Becky, you said Max is a painter decorator?"
"Yes, he has a small workshop and storage place for his equipment near
the railroad yards. It seems as if his work gets good reviews and I
checked with a couple of former clients. They spoke highly of his work.
The only criticisms were that one woman commented that he seemed almost
too eager to please, another thought his manner was a bit obsequious. So
it seems as if our friend Max can be polite if he wants but for those
who don't count, he can be one nasty SOB."
Vera looked round at her committee. "I'd like to meet him to size him up
so I'll call him and see if I can get an estimate about doing my
downstairs area. I'll report back to you. But Becky and Lori, maybe you
could both keep an eye on him."
When Vera checked the company web site, the reviews quoted from
customers were good there too so she called up.
"Advendage Decorating," she heard. "Can I help you?" Vera thought the
voice sounded quite businesslike.
"Yes, hi, I would like an estimate on redoing the downstairs area in my
house."
"Yes, ma'am, what were you thinking?"
"Oh repainting. I've got a bit tired of the colours that are there. It's
a few years since it was painted. So, if you have any ideas I'd be glad
to hear them."
"Certainly, madame. So, can I have your address and I'll come and have a
look?"
Vera gave her name and address and arranged for Max to come in two days.
She looked round her living room. Maybe it actually would be an idea to
get it repainted. It hadn't been done since well before her husband
died. She thought about being with Max. A second opinion would be good
so she called Amanda.
When the doorbell rang and Vera invited Max in. "Mr. Vendage? I'm Vera
Campbell. This is my friend Amanda."
He shook their hands, showing lots of white teeth. "Glad to know you,
ladies. Call me Max. Now what is it you'd like done?"
Vera showed him around, getting impressed. His manner was very
professional, asking questions about what she liked and what she didn't
and making suggestions.
"All right, Mrs. Campbell. I've seen it what I need to. It's a lovely
house you have here. Very tastefully done, but I agree with you, I think
it needs a bit freshening up. I have some stuff in the van if you want
to check on some colors and other accent touches that I think can show
your house off better. I'll go out and get some paint charts and I have
a folio of work I've done. Once you select some I'll work on a colour
scheme and I'll get back to you with an idea of prices."
"What do you think?" asked Vera, when Max was outside.
"Nothing I can see yet. But yeah, maybe his manner is a bit oily. Still,
let's see what he has to say."
Max returned with an armful of some paint charts, decorating books and
albums with pictures of work he had done for previous clients and they
spent another hour going over some paint charts with Vera and Amanda
chipping in, and making some selections.
"Yes, definitely obsequious," Vera said when Max had left. "Anyway, that
gives us a good idea of who we're dealing with."
Apart from that, when the committee met again there was little new
material on Max to discuss.
Vera shook her head in frustration. "We would prefer to change the two
of them, but Max is the only one who gets out and about much. So I think
we will have to do the change right at his house. We'll just have to
hope that Lance doesn't make too much of a fuss.
"Max now knows me and Amanda. Maybe he will also remember Lori from the
encounter at the mall. I have an idea how we can do this, crude and no
subtlety either, but I think for safety we should all wear masks. Here's
what I am thinking."
One evening, two weeks later, Max had been watching television. He was
dressed in a T-shirt and jeans and sprawled on a sofa, his arm over
Lance's shoulder. Lance was dressed in a black bra and panties with a
pink negligee on top.
The doorbell rang. "Who the fuck is that?" Max snarled and pushed Lance
out of the way.
"Let it ring," said Lance.
But the doorbell rang again. Muttering curses Max pulled himself up and
went to the front door. Through the spyhole he saw a small dark haired
woman carrying a clipboard. She was casually but neatly dressed. Another
do-gooder or some religious type? He would enjoy sending her packing.
He growled with satisfaction. He'd had a busy day pandering to some
stupid women clients and this would be a chance to give someone a
yelling and let off steam. He opened the door.
"What do you want?" he growled, sizing his visitor up.
"Sorry to bother you, sir, but I'm looking for signatures on this
petition," said Rose. "It's about that new factory they are planning
over by the beltway."
"Look lady, I'm not interested. Why don't you get lost and not disturb
me? And another thing, lady, what makes you think you have a right to
come bothering people." This was good, thought Max. He could feel
himself getting wound up. Would she argue or just turn tail? The woman
was fairly small and he was at least a foot taller than her so he could
intimidate her by size alone. He thought gleefully of her scurrying
away, her tail metaphorically between her legs.
But Rose smiled sweetly. "Oh sir, I'm sorry to disturb you but you see
this proposed plan here...." She put a chart right in front of his nose
and it distracted his attention. He went to push it away but then he
felt a sudden enormous jolt on his chest that ran through him. His legs
buckled under him and he collapsed onto the floor, just inside his door.
Lori and Katya were right behind Rose and they all put masks on, giving
one to Rose too. They pulled Max into the house and shut the door.
"Max?" they heard. "What is it?"
Rose put her fingers to her lips to warn the others. She quickly pulled
her mask over her face.
Lance, still dressed only in the underwear and negligee, appeared at a
doorway. He stopped as if puzzled then went rigid at the sight of the
three masked women and Max on the floor, groaning. He was about to cry
out but Rose rushed to him and put a hand over his mouth and a gun to
his temple. It was only a toy but fairly genuine looking.
"Get back inside, and sit down and be quiet," she hissed. " If you
behave no harm will come to you."
Lance allowed them to pull Max's unresisting body along behind him and
into the living room.
"Please don't kill us," Lance whimpered, making alarmed faces.
"Shuddup and do as we say," Rose snarled, remembering movie villains and
making her voice sound as menacing as she could. "Now help us lift Max
here into a chair." She handed Lance some rope. "Now tie his hands
behind his back and to the chair. Now one round his waist! His ankles
too! Hurry up!"
Katya checked them and nodded. "They're tight." She spoke huskily,
trying to disguise her voice.
Rose pointed to another chair. "Now you, Lance, sit down too and don't
move!"
Lance was gabbling. "Please, we have nothing to give you. Please don't
kill us. Let us go and we won't tell anybody about this."
"Just shut up!" Rose snapped, getting annoyed with the whining. "First,
if you behave yourself, we won't do you any harm. In fact we hope to do
some good. Well, maybe you. I'm not so sure about your lover boy here.
We've been watching you two and we have an offer for you but first,
you'd better tell us what your relationship is with him." Rose nudged
Max with her foot. His eyes were staring and he jerked but his muscles
were not controlled.
"Looking at you I see a man but you're in woman's nightwear and
lingerie. What is the relationship? Tell us!"
Lance just looked at them. "What does it look like? I'm a sissy!" he
burst out. "I want to be a woman. I've wanted it almost all of my life.
I struggled along then I met Max and right away he saw what I was. He
accepted me, he helps me and we became a couple."
"I've seen you both together," said Lori. "Maybe he accepts you but he
bullies you too. You've no life of your own. And I don't like the
situation you are in. Is that the way it is? What's Max to you?"
Lance sniffed. "Max, he's attracted to men, but effeminate ones. Yes,
sissies like me." He blushed. "He doesn't even like women. He's taken
over my life completely, but he cares for me. He says he loves me. He
tells me what to do. I'm happy with him. My parents and family didn't
accept me. Max does!"
"He bullies you. I've seen it!"
Lance pouted. "Well, I am like a wife to him. He treats me like a woman.
Yes, sometimes he criticises me for things. I act as a wife to him but
if I'm like a wife he should take a husband's role, shouldn't he?"
Katya took a deep breath and counted to ten. "But you're a man, well,
anatomically!"
"Yes, I was born that way but I feel like a woman. Ever since I was a
kid I've wanted to be a woman but that's not possible. I mean to be a
real woman, but I make up for it the way I relate to him, the way I
dress and we can make love well enough. I can do things to Max that most
women won't do for their husbands."
"Spare us the details," said Katya. She looked at Max. "How is he?"
Lori lifted Max's face. "I think he's coming around. Maybe ten minutes
yet then he'll be starting to pay attention."
Katya turned back to Lance. "Look, sissy, we've got an offer for you. We
came here to make it to you. We mean you no harm. You behave like a
woman." She pointed to his lingerie. "You dress like a woman. You've
taken a role with Max that might be thought of as a woman's." Katya was
choosing her words carefully. It was not the relationship she had with
her own husband.
"Yes, Lance," said Rose. "The offer. How would you like to become a real
woman? I mean completely, utterly. You'd lose your male body and all the
male bits and pieces. Instead you'd get a completely female body, with
breasts, uterus, vagina, vulva, what you might call pussy. You'd get a
curved figure with a waist and broad hips. You'd not be as tall. Your
voice would get higher. You would be a woman completely. You could even
get pregnant and have children."
"You're kidding!" Lance asked.
"I'm not teasing you. It's a genuine offer. You wear lingerie but
really, it's designed for women. Their bodies are curved. You could get
the female curves too to show it off better as well, or maybe, I should
say, if you had female curves the lingerie would how them off. Look at
you! You're in a bra. What have you got in it to fill it?"
Lance looked hurt. "I have some bags filled with rice. I was going to
get some breast forms eventually."
"I think that you'd be happier with genuine women's bosoms in the cups,"
said Rose.
"Have you been watching us? How do you know our names?" asked Lance.
Lori stepped forward. "Yes, and we've been watching you for a few weeks.
Lance, we've actually met before, but I was a man at the time. Do I
look like man now?"
Lance sat back. "No, not at all."
Lori was a bit suspicious. Lance had not looked to surprised by her
admission but she lifted her top and eased up her bra. "See, real
breasts. Do you want to touch them to test them? You could have the
same."
"Yes, they look wonderful."
'Go on, touch them. Test my breasts."
Lance tentatively stroked and gently pressed Lori's breasts. "They're
lovely." Then slowly pulled his hand back.
Lori adjusted her clothing. "So, Lance, Would you become a woman
totally, if you were given the chance?" Not that we're going to give you
an option, she thought.
"Yes, I'd love to try it."
"All right, that's what we are going to do. We are going to read you
something that will make you into a woman. Then you can take up a
woman's life completely." She let her voice soften, become more
persuasive. "Lance, we want to change Max because of his attitudes, but
you know, this would be wonderful for you."
"Please don't hurt him. And Max hates women! That might destroy our
relationship!"
Katya took over. "Aha, that is the other part. Lance, don't you think as
a woman you could establish a healthier relationship with maybe another
man? You'd be totally a woman, as my friend just said. Men would see
that. And you could have a chance at a better life. You may have
convinced yourself otherwise but I assure you that Max abuses you. Don't
you want to get away from that?"
"Maybe no other man would have me," he protested.
"I think you're pessimistic. In fact that's nonsense! You'd be like half
the world's population and most of the adult females have relationships
with men. Oh, I see Max is beginning to recover. Get him a drink of
water, someone."
Still in her mask, Lori went to the kitchen and brought back a glass of
water. Max's eyes were still unfocussed but he sipped at the water when
it was held to his lips. In a minute he began to look round and start to
struggle against his bonds.
"Who are you all anyway?" he asked unevenly.
Katya shook her head. "That doesn't matter. We're just a group of women
that want to change the attitudes of certain men. You see, Max, it came
to our attention that you are quite rude to women, especially those that
you fancy yourself superior to. We've watched you in action. Your
behaviour and language and abuse have caused lot of women quite a bit of
distress. In fact it seems as if you hate women. I suppose that accounts
for your relationship with Lance, someone who tries to be a woman but
you know he's a man. So hopefully, we will remedy your behaviour to
women. We have special treat for you."
She took a bundle from her pocket and unwrapped the book. "Max, you see
this book? Lance, you have a look at it too. This is very ancient but it
actually has a number of magic spells. You're both going to experience
one of them."
"Spells? Delusional fucking woman," spat out Max.
Katya gave him a look of contempt. "I will read a certain spell to you
both. You will first start to shiver then you will fall unconscious.
When you wake, about a day and half from now, you will both be women.
Then you will both have to make your way as women."
Lance's eyes grew big while Max's narrowed in hostility and disbelief.
"You're out of your mind, lady!" he snarled and struggled against his
bonds.
Rose took his chin in her small hand and pinched it."Ahh, that's like
the old abusive Max. I guess you are recovering. You are tied to that
chair, effectively, I think. We have a lovely treatment for you, my lad!
When you're unconscious we'll untie you.
"It will be at least a day and a half before you wake and then it will
take an hour or more for you to get on your feet because you'll hurt all
over. I'm sorry about that but at least it won't last long. Then you'll
be able to start exploring your new bodies. You may like it, you may
not, but I dare say there will be few adjustments." Katya gave a wintry
smile.
"All right, I think we are ready." Katya handed the book to Rose.
"Here, why don't you use it? It's open at the right page."
Rose read silently over the incantation and nodded. "Here we go!" She
cleared her throat and began to sound out the words in a clear voice.
Lance just sat in his chair, looking apprehensive but hopeful. Max
struggled against his ropes, protesting and cursing. Lori eyed the
straining ropes, a little worried, because Max looked strong, but she
decided they would hold him until he fell unconscious.
Rose snapped the book shut. "It doesn't start right away, but don't
worry, it will work. Give it a minute."
"What's the matter?" snarled Max. "Your mumbo jumbo didn't work?"
"Impatient are you?" said Rose.
In fact it was almost five minutes before Max showed a sign. As his
strength returned from the Taser he had been cursing the women more and
more and straining at the ropes. Suddenly he gave a start and shook his
shoulders, as if he was suddenly cold.
A few seconds later he gave another definite shiver. Then Lance shivered
too and began to shake. After a few seconds more both men were shaking,
giving little gasps and cries until just a few minutes later they
slumped in their ropes, completely unconscious.
"Good, that's it," said Lori. "We'll give them five minutes then untie
them and we can cut the clothes from Max. But undress Lance carefully as
maybe we can leave some of his outfits for them. Oh yes, we can take our
masks off now. They're so blasted uncomfortable!"
When the men were naked the women sat and watched them carefully while
the spell took effect. They had all seen it do its work before, on other
men who had had the committee's attention, but they all watched open
mouthed as the two unconscious bodies rippled under successive waves of
change. At one point the skin on the men even looked at if it was
shimmering. They saw the male features change, slowly becoming softer
and less angular, the heavy brows softening and their cheekbones
becoming more prominent. Their bodies were shrinking too, changing shape
and proportions. Their shoulders were narrowing, their waists even more
while their hips and buttocks began swelling. Their genitals gradually
shrank, disappearing into their pubic hair while breasts began to bud on
their chests, first the nipples swelling, then the areolas and finally
the flesh underneath, expanding into prettily shaped female breasts.
Lori rose and stretched. "They need more comfortable chairs!" she
grumbled. "Okay let's check on their new girl bits." First on Lance then
Max, she pulled their legs wide open. "Yes, all is going well. They're
just about formed. It will only be about another ten minutes and they'll
be completed.
"So now we can get onto the next part. Who's got their new clothes?"
"They're here," said Katya and she shook out two plastic bags with
women's clothes.
She began sorting them. "Thank God for thrift stores and the like. These
clothes are not new, but close to it. Oh, I did get them new underwear,
though. I didn't want them wearing worn out bras and panties, but I hope
the bras are the right sizes. I got a selection. We can see what fits
best then take the others back or keep them for another time.
"So, Lance first. How do we want her dressed?"
"Certainly not like the stuff she had on," said Lori, "I have some
sympathies for Lance. Yes, she'll need woman's clothes, but not that
over-the-top sissy stuff Max made her wear. I think something elegant
and more tasteful." She shook her head. "Yes, I remember how I went
through some of that frilly stuff. I had no idea! God, how stupid I must
have looked."
She began to sort out the clothes, measuring Lance and setting aside
some bras, then panties and several dresses that she held against the
unconscious Lance, rejecting some quickly then she went through her
first selection again. "Yes, I think that will do," she said finally.
"Now get him, I mean her, ready."
"She doesn't have much in the way of facial hair, but we'd better get
that off her," said Rose. The male hair would fall off in a day or so,
but we want quicker results."
She brought out a razor and cream and, her tongue out of her mouth,
pressed against her lips, she shaved Lance's face, then her chest,
working carefully between the breasts, her belly and finally her legs.
With Lori and Katya supporting Lance, Rose slid a bra, then panties,
pantyhose and a waist slip and a dress onto her. The figure made no
movement. She was deeply unconscious.
Rose looked up and down the unconscious figure. "She looks good. Now
then, what treatment do we have for Max?"
"She 's going to have a shock when she wakes up and maybe some women's
clothes will add to that. Max wanted frilly stuff on Lance. Let's see
how she likes it on herself."
With Lori and Katya again helping her she checked Max's measurements and
went to the pile of clothes. Rose chuckled in satisfaction when she
selected a bra and panties. "Now, I wonder," she muttered and drew in
her breath. "Yes, here we are."
"Next, some outerwear for her... Yes, this skirt." And she rummaged
through the pile. "And this blouse. That should get her attention."
While Rose was selecting the clothes, Katya had begun removing the hair
from Max's face and body. "Yes, shave her pubic area too, " said Lori.
"Full Brazilian! Just so she can see her nice new bits and pieces
better."
"Okay. All done," said Katya later. It had taken the best part of an
hour. "Sorry," she apologized. "She's got a couple of nicks, but they've
stopped bleeding.
"All right guys," said Lori, "help me pull her up and we'll get her
dressed too."
Lori was bunching up a pair of white nylon stockings. She slid them onto
Max's newly smoothed legs. "All right, next." She selected a white lacy
garter belt with eight straps, pulled it around Max's waist and fixed
the garters to her stocking tops, adjusting the straps so that they
pulled up the stockings very tautly.
"Eight garters?" said Katya. "It looks like a fetishist's dreams."
"Oh, it'll just reinforce the message, like these panties. They match
the garters."
"You got him sissy panties, I see," said Katya.
Lori laughed. "Yeah, you think she'll like all the frills on her butt?"
"Her bra next. I 've got this push-up one, lacy too. I wanted a half cup
shelf type but I couldn't get hold of a suitable one." Lori slid it over
Max's arms, pulled it up fastened the back and adjusted the straps.
She laughed. "I've made the straps tight. That will get her attention
when she wakes, seeing her new boobs hoisted up like that. She'll have
to bend over pretty far before she can see down past them."
"Just about there," she muttered. The dress was a bouffant full skirted
style in pink satin with small back button style and Max's white bra
was quite obvious below it..
"Now their hair. Lance's is longish so I think just a little shaping."
She set to work with a comb and scissors. "Good enough. Now Max." She
shook her head. "Too short to do anything, so..." She pulled out a wig
with dark curly hair from a bag. " Just a little adhesive." She set it
on Max's head. and attacked a large pink bow. "There!" she said
triumphantly.
"What a difference!" said Rose.
"Almost there. Now, we need a little makeup for them both." Her cheeks
sucked in with concentration, Lori ran through her routine with
foundation, powder, blusher, eye shadow and mascara. Finally she
carefully applied lip liner and wiped some lipstick onto both
unconscious figures, a deep pink for Lance and a bright purplish red for
Max. Max also got large rouge spots on her cheeks.
"Oh, I almost forgot," said Lori. "Piercing their ears. I'll have to do
it the old fashioned way with a needle. Katya, can you hold their heads,
Lance first?
"There," she said a few minutes later. She had pierced the ears and
fixed small hoop earrings on the two unconscious figures. "Don't they
look cute?"
"And now a little fragrance?" Rose suggested. "I have a nice musky
scented one for Max, maybe a lighter, more floral one for Lance."
"One last thing, shoes for them," said Lori. "I've got a black pair that
will suit the rest of Max's outfit. She should have fun trying to walk
in four inch heels."
"What you might call fuck-me heels, hmm?" said Rose. "What about Lance?"
"Two and a half inch heels for her."
"Okay," said Rose. "I'll keep watch over the two sleeping beauties here.
You two go through the house and remove all male traces. Get absolutely
all male clothes out of the closets and drawers, and put them in these
garbage bags. We'll drop them off at some charity bin later.
"Check the toiletries and shaving stuff too and remove it. There's a
selection of women's stuff in this box to put in its place. Scatter it
in the drawers and the dressing table and so on."
Finally they were done. "Let's see," said Rose, looking at her
checklist. "Clothes? Check. Bathroom? Check. Shoes and footwear? Check.
Oh yes, did you leave women's purses? And leave their old male ID?
They'll need that when they get around to changing their documentation.
Makeup and combs and brushes? Check!
"Oh, pictures on the walls." She looked round. "We're in luck. They're
all fairly neutral. All right, last look around? We okay?"
The others nodded.
"All right gang, we're done. Let's get out of here. We'll get rid of the
masks and gloves in a dumpster."
.....
The committee met two weeks later and Vera ran through her agenda.
"So, now to ongoing stuff, or maybe it's past business, does anyone have
any information on Max and Lance? Lori, I gather you wanted to report on
them?"
"Oh yes, I have some stuff here."
Vera studied Lori as she got her papers in order. She really was an
attractive young woman, Vera thought, pretty, bright, efficient and an
enthusiastic member of her committee. And yet she had been a man! Lori
had adapted superlatively.
Lori looked round her audience and gave her report, occasionally
checking with her notes. She looked up. "So I think all went well.
Actually Lance was quite cooperative. I think he welcomed what we were
going to do. It's almost as if he expected it.
"I've been watching them a little too. I've driven past several times
and never seen anyone there at all but I noticed that the curtains had
been changed. Then yesterday I saw them both come out and get in their
car, both in women's outfits. The woman who was Lance was driving. She
looked very happy and confident but the other, Max, I suppose, was
walking awkwardly and slightly hunched. Oh yes, she wasn't wearing any
of the stuff we gave her. It just looked like casual clothes, but
women's stuff.
"So at one time she must have gone out and got more stuff," said Amanda.
"I wonder if the woman who was Lance did the shopping for Max or if Max
herself wore the original outfit to go shopping?"
"Could be. Anyway, I followed them. Maybe she needed more outfits as
they went to a clothing store for men and women, but into the women's
section only. They got, as far as I could see, more casual women's
stuff. They didn't even attempt to go to the men's section at all.
"This time at the checkout it was the one who had been Lance who took
charge. She looked as if she was in a sunny mood and even joked with the
woman at the cash desk."
"What about Max?" Vera asked.
"Actually, she looked a bit awkward and uncomfortable. But you know,
both were wearing makeup and Lance's hair had been longish and she's had
it styled. Max too. She was actually wearing the wig. So actually I
think that Max is going to adjust. It looks as if she's working at being
a woman. Let's hope her manners improve. There can be shrewish women
too.
"Oh yes, I think too that Lance is intending to get out more. She left
Max in a coffee shop and went to another store in the mall, by herself.
They had a notice up wanting staff and she was speaking to the manager,
pointing to it. I wonder if she wants a job as a saleswoman."
"So she's adjusting well, you think?" asked Vera. "I wonder about Max.
The former Max had been a decorator. I wonder what she will do?"
"Maybe the roles will be reversed," Amanda suggested. "She'll become the
'housewife'. It'll depend how long it takes her to adjust."
"All right, we'll keep an eye on them. Actually, I wondered if they
would split. After all, we changed their lives quite a bit and it must
be stressful for them."
"You're not feeling sorry for Max, are you? Maybe they've established a
new different relationship?" said Katya.
...........
A week or so later Lori had been in the mall at the lingerie shop
looking for a nightdress and lingerie for her trousseau when it came to
her mind that on her last visit there she had seen Max and Lance. Now I
wonder? she thought.
With her purchases completed she walked along to the clothing store
where she had seen the former Lance applying for a job. Lori recognised
the girl right away. She was wearing a casual but smart skirted outfit
with heeled shoes. She was at the counter attending to a customer. Her
manner looked pleasant and she smiled at the customer,
So she's adapted well, Lori thought. She was about to head back to her
car when some pretty women's blouses on a rack at the store entrance
caught her eye and she was fingering through them when she was
interrupted. Lori flinched slightly.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you. Anything you're looking for,
ma'am?" It was the former Lance.
Lori was curious to see how the former Lance was managing and decided to
buy something. "Yes, I like this blouse. Can I try it on?"
"Certainly ma'am, there's a fitting room over there."
In fact Lori was delighted with the blouse and went to the cash desk.
She fished out her credit card from her purse.
"That's a pretty ring," said the former Lance, pointing to Lori's left
hand.
"Oh, thank you. Yes, I just got engaged a month or so back."
"And when's the happy day?"
"Next June," said Lori. The girl seemed entirely at ease, she thought,
but seemed to be looking at her intently.
The girl's eyes narrowed. "That's a very unusual ring on your other
hand."
"Oh yes, I picked it up in an antique store some years back." Lori
tensed. She became aware that the girl was looking at her strangely,
maybe with a trace of amusement.
"It's a very distinctive ring. I've only seen one like it before. A man
I knew once wore it." Then she looked at Lori even more strangely. "You
know, your voice is familiar. And the way you carry yourself too. Even
the way you talk."
Lori was getting more uncomfortable.
The girl looked more closely at Lori's credit card. "Lori is your name?"
"Ye..es, of course," said Lori.
The girl looked at her evenly. "So, is that the name you use now? You
see, you remind me a lot of a man I used to know. In a past life," the
girl added.
"What do you mean? When?" Lori asked.
The girl took a deep breath. "Yes, we've met before, at least twice.
Yes, and you remind me of a man I knew called Ken."
Lori swore under her breath. She wondered what the girl knew. She looked
round. "It's almost lunchtime. Look, I think we need to discuss some
things. Can I buy you lunch at that caf? over there? I'll see you there
about one o' clock? This is not the place to talk about our lives," she
muttered.
The girl's mood had changed. She looked as if she was about to break
down. "Yes," she whispered, wiping the corner of her eye.
Lori waited at the caf? entrance and just after one she saw the girl
walking to her, slowly. Lori took her arm and guided her into a booth.
"Yes, I'd like to tell you some things. I call myself Lori. Now. But
let's order."
"And I call myself Lania now. I used to be ... Lance. But I think you
knew that," said the girl.
They both ordered sandwiches and ate them through awkward and trivial
conversation
When they were almost finished, Lori started. "First, Lania, before I
start on a long tale, how are you doing?"
The girl looked at her, surprised. "In what way?"
"I mean, are you happy? Now."
More surprise, but Lania nodded, a shy smile starting. "Yes, but maybe
that's a strange question."
"Happier than you were two months ago? You see, a group of us hoped you
would be."
Lania looked at her, a smile at the corners of her mouth. "Two months
ago? Yes, there was a group of you? Well, things changed then, quite a
bit, as you know. You know Lori, I wondered how long it would take
before you or someone else came checking up on me. To see if your
incantations worked as well as other times?"
Other times? Lori thought. "Lania, you seem to know more than I
expected." Lori put her hand over Lania's. "I have a tale to tell you,
fantastic in a way, but you already know a lot of it." She took a deep
breath.
Lania's listened attentively as Lori told her own story, then about the
committee and its aims, and finally why they had chosen Max and Lance.
Lania squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head slowly but a tear leaked
between her eyelids. "I'm so glad you did."
She wiped her eyes. "Lori, I remember Ken. He was as unhappy as I was.
After Max and I began our relationship I didn't get out so much on my
own and eventually I was cut off from past acquaintances. Still, I
sometimes wondered how Ken was doing. I also remember that time when Max
was so rude to you in that lingerie store along there. So that was what
triggered that time you invaded my house!"
"Yes, I suggested it to our committee."
"It must be an interesting group of women. Lori, I can hardly thank you
enough. You changed my life and I'm happier than I have ever been. You
know, when I woke up from the spell, even though I was aching all over,
finding myself as a woman was like a dream come true, discovering my new
body. I just feel so alive and happy now. I love the fact that I can
wear women's clothes completely openly. I love having breasts and
wearing bras. I love pretty lingerie. I love the feel of gartered
stockings or pantyhose and feeling dresses swirl about my knees. I like
the feel of earrings. I love making myself up.
"And what about Max?"
Lania gave a slightly mischievous smile. "Yes, I'm sure his behavior got
your attention and you put him in your sights. You know, when he woke up
it was an enormous shock when he found himself in a woman's body and
clothing. Nice touch, by the way, with the lingerie and stockings. He
spent a whole day screaming and crying. He, I should now say she,
actually pulled off the wig and her clothes but you'd left nothing else
in the house so she had to put them on again to get out. I had flat out
refused to get anything for her.
"But it took a week before she finally gave in. For me, I had no trouble
at all. The change was just what I wanted. I needed to get out and get
more clothes, women's stuff, for myself. It's amazing how much woman's
stuff I needed!"
"Sorry about that. Actually I found the same. I needed much more than
when I was a man."
Lania gave Lori a big smile. "Oh, I'm just kidding. I love getting out
trying on things! Actually the procedure had almost broken Max. Or, I
should say, Magda, as she now calls herself. Max is gone, but the good
thing is Magda is a different person and she no longer has the hold on
me or attempts to. We're now about the same size and build so she can't
intimidate me. She's become a different person mentally too.
"You know, I think she's accepting it quickly. That first time she got
out shopping she was desperate to get some men's pants and shirts, but
she's hardly worn them and after that she actually wanted me to go with
her to get some women's clothes. She wanted my advice."
"What about your.. uh ...relationship?"
Lania thought for a few seconds. "I'm not sure where it's going. In some
ways we've become closer. He... she is not bossy any more. It's much
more equal. In fact I think we could stay as a couple. She was so broken
that I felt I had to comfort her and care for her and that just seems to
have evolved into a new relationship. So we are still together. I think
Magda is beginning to get cabin fever now and is talking about getting
back out to work.
"Lori, what about your committee? Will it carry on?"
"Oh yes, certainly. There are many men still need our attention."
Lania sat back and looked at Lori. "But Lori, I have a bit of a
confession to make to you. You see I'm..um ..afraid...I manipulated you.
I was hoping you would do something for me and it all worked out."
Lori stiffened. "How do you mean?" she asked.
"Well, away back, you remember that Ken and Lance were acquaintances
then Ken just seemed to fall off the face of the earth. But I saw you
once in a grocery store, it must have been after you got changed, and I
noticed that antique ring. You didn't see me. You see, the ring is
unusual and I remembered Ken used to have one like it."
Lori grimaced. "That was careless of me!"
"Yes, it made me wonder," said Lania." So, I asked around but no one had
seen the old Ken. Seeing that ring, I was curious so I went to where you
used to live. It was a different couple in the house but a neighbor said
that Ken had gone away and his sister Lori had got his house but then
sold it. That seemed suspicious so I did some more snooping and I found
that a Lori, you, were in business as a consultant. The same kind of
work Ken did. So I wondered!
"I actually spied on you. It became quite obvious that you weren't just
a man who cross-dressed and had gotten surgical work. Something had
happened that you'd become a woman in all respects. You know, there have
been rumors floating around the community that one or two abusive men
disappeared and then some women appeared who claimed to be them. Of
course almost nobody believed them but there were enough who did, and it
would have to have been by some magic!
"But magic doesn't exist," Lori said quickly.
"Doesn't it? Looking at you, I wondered if that's what had happened to
Ken. That's what I wanted for myself and I wondered how you had managed
it. I even thought about contacting you to see if you could help or
advise but it was soon after that that I took up with Max so I didn't
get out nearly so much. Still, I always wondered about you.
"Then it was just luck that I saw you in the mall that time when Max was
pressuring me to go into that lingerie store to get some frilly stuff. I
had always liked to wear women's lingerie, but I had done it discretely,
definitely in my closet. I never had the nerve to go in public. That was
Max pushing me. Now, of course, as a woman I can go and buy pretty
lingerie openly and no one blinks an eyelid.
"Then, you remember that Max was getting me to choose some female stuff?
You didn't exactly hide your disapproval of Max's boorish behavior and
it was an opportunity for me. It was me who commented to Max that you
were watching us and that set him off."
"He was an ill tempered SOB!"
"Yes, wasn't he! I made sure he got your attention although you saw him
at his worst. It was luck too that we went into the same coffee shop
afterwards and I could get another look at you. You were still wearing
that ring. You know, Lori, you still have a slight look of Ken and you
have the same mannerisms, but you are all female. I wanted the same for
myself and I thought, just maybe, that I could get the same that
happened to you. I was sure lucky. It was a long shot but I just hoped
that you'd be able to do something for me, although I didn't quite
expect how it happened. I was terrified when one of you stuck that gun
at my head."
"It was a toy gun."
"I realized that later. Anyway, I sure got a drastic change, but it's
wonderful. For Max too! He had always been the most dominant in our
relationship and I was getting more and more under his control. Yes, he
was getting almost abusive. I wanted to get way from him or at least for
our relationship to change. I was wondering how to contact you but you
already had plans underway for us, I guess."
"Yes, a group of us, a committee, has been in operation. And we use a
special book," Lori admitted.
"Is your committee going to carry on its work?"
Lori nodded. "Almost certainly and I'm glad I can give them a good
report on your progress and Magda's. I think the result is pretty
satisfactory. Just one thing, that book, please don't mention it to
anyone. That could cause trouble."
Lania laughed. "Are you kidding? No one would believe me, or Max either
if he talked. No, I'm just so grateful to you I'll be sure to keep quiet
and let your committee keep doing its great work. There are other men
who might benefit.
"I must say I never thought about an ancient magic book but I'll now
forget about it."
"Yes, that old book, it came into our hands by accident some years ago."
"Book? What book?" asked Lania.
........
Two week later, Vera had a telephone call. "Mrs. Campbell? This is
Advendage Decorating calling you back. About your redecorating plans."
Vera felt her heart jump. "Ye..e.. ess?"
It was a woman's voice. "Uh, my brother Max came to your place to look
it over some weeks ago. You had wanted it redecorated? I'm his sister.
My name is Magda. I've taken over from Max. Sorry to get back to you so
late but we had a disruption in the company and Max had to go away. So
I've taken over. Are you still interested in having the work done? I can
work on an estimate for you. I'm certainly as well trained as Max."
