“That ended pretty much as I expected,” I said to Jackie when she came back from walking Penny home.

Penny had arrived with Ned about 7:00pm and ten minutes later, he had stormed from the house, his face showing a mix of anger and sadness. He had left Penny standing at the door of the ‘Indian’ room in tears, calling his name. I wasn’t surprised by what happened, and could only hope that at some point Ned would talk to Penny again.

“She’s pretty upset. I just told Alice that Penny and Ned broke up and that she had talked to me becauce I was visiting. Hopefully, Alice won’t push things with Penny; I know Penny doesn’t want to tell her.”

“Did you convince her to get tested?” I asked.

“Yes,” Jackie said. “It was pretty simple once I got her calmed down a bit. She said she’d go to the clinic on Monday.”

“It was SO much easier when we were that age,” I said.

“That was only six years ago!” Jackie laughed.

“A lot has changed! HIV wasn’t in the straight, non-drug-using community. Heck, I’d never even heard of AIDS in 1981! I only knew one person to have an STD in High School. And mostly a good dose of antibiotics solved the problem in the past. Now? I’d have a tough time being with anyone who hadn’t been tested.”

Jackie looked at me with a mirthful smile, “Your wives still let you play around?”

“Within certain limits,” I said.

“Interesting. Anyway, Penny said she’d talk to you in a few days. She’s totally bummed that she disappointed you. She wants you to respect her and see her only in a positive light.”

“I know,” I said. “I told her that she disappointed me on purpose. I wanted her to understand just how serious what she did was. It’s one thing to play around. It’s a very different thing to cheat. Penny and I have a very intimate, but non-sexual, relationship. It’s why Jess would never, ever let me be with Penny again. And Jess is right. It would open a whole can of worms that could wreck all of our relationships.”

“Because you love Penny so dearly?”

“As she loves me,” I nodded. “So we have to keep a safe distance. It’s why I didn’t want any details about the guy, and why I called you to talk to her. This is one topic that I couldn’t help her with. It needed a feminine touch.”

“That girl would walk a mile on hot coals for you,” Jackie said.

“And I’d do the same for her. Which just proves the point. Anyway, we need to get back to the group.”

“Why the rush? Nobody will think the two of US are screwing. We only think that when you and Kathy disappear together!”

“Smart ass!” I chuckled. “And you all know that will never happen because I couldn’t do that to Kurt.”

“I’ve been meaning to ask. How are you doing? You know, after Stephie?”

“OK. I think about her a lot. But she did the right thing in telling me not to come see her once she started to deteriorate. I hated her for that at first, but she was right. I remember her for how she was, and for all the good things we did together. I have moments of melancholy but it’s not like it was with Birgit.”

“Stephie was a wonderful girl. Life just isn’t fair sometimes.”

“Tell me about it,” I sighed.

“Steve, can I talk to you?” Tasha asked when she came to work on Tuesday afternoon.

“Sure,” I said, getting up from my desk.

We went to one of the small meeting rooms and I shut the door behind us.

“Are you upset with me?” she asked.

“Huh?” I said. “Why would you think that?”

“You’ve barely talked to me since, we, uhm, you know.”

“Tasha Zhukov, I am not upset with you! And you certainly can say what we did!”

She laughed and blushed, “Fine. Since we had sex! There! I said it. Happy?”

I chuckled, “I’ve just been busy and preoccupied. Please don’t read anything into it.”

“Could I see you again?” she asked quietly.

“You can see me right now!” I teased.

“Don’t be a jerk! You know what I meant!”

I did, and that presented a problem. Jessica wasn’t angry with me, but she also hadn’t loosened the reins and I didn’t expect her to do so anytime soon, if at all.

“Remember what I said about Jessica having to give permission? And that we might only have that one time together?”

Tasha nodded slowly, “Yes, but I hoped I might get another chance.”

“You’d have to take that up with Jessica, and I’m not sure that the best idea right at the moment.”

“Why? Did something happen? Is she mad about what we did?”

I was torn as to whether or not I should tell her, and decided that I had to, since her going to Jessica to ask might make the situation worse. I also didn’t want Tasha to think that I didn’t like her or that I was using her and then casting her aside.

“Jessica was upset with me because we didn’t use a condom. I’d promised her that I would, and then I didn’t. It’s not about you, Tasha. It’s about me keeping my word to my wife.”

Her face fell, “So if I’d let you use a rubber, we could’ve done it again?”

“There’s no guarantee that would have been the case, but probably, yes.”

She pouted, “That stinks!”

“It does, but I have to say, I very much enjoyed how you felt.”

Her pout change to a smile, “I really liked it when you came. That felt so cool!”

“I don’t know if or when Jessica will change her mind, so for now, we’ll just have to have those memories,” I said.

“They’re good ones!” Tasha smiled. “Hey, is everything OK with Penny? She’s been really quiet and seems sad.”

“She and Ned broke up,” I said.

“Oh! She didn’t tell me. I guess that explains it.”

It did, to a point. And unless Penny was willing to share details, that was all Tasha could know. There wasn’t really anything else to say, so Tasha and I went back to our workstations.

“Is everything OK with Tasha?” Penny asked.

“She speaks!” I teased.

Penny sighed, “Sorry. I’ve just been depressed and haven’t felt like talking.”

“How can I help?”

She giggled, “A good, hard fuck would be perfect. But you aren’t allowed, so how about a hug?”

I stood up and she melted into my arms with a sigh. I hugged her tight for a few minutes, then she kissed my cheek and sat back down.

“Thanks,” she said. “I’m glad you’re my friend.”

“I’m glad you’re my friend, too.”

“Another plane crash,” Elyse sighed.

“Now what?” I asked.

“A Pacific Southwest Airlines flight crashed near a city in California. I think they said it was Paso Robles. Supposedly there was no report of trouble to air traffic control and the plane appears to have completely disintegrated on impact.”

“How many people?”

“44 passengers and crew. It was a small jet.”

“I wonder what could have happened,” I said. “Something that knocked out the pilot and co-pilot? Were there any reports from witnesses?”

“Not yet.”

“Damn this just makes you want to swear off of flying, even though I know that, statistically speaking, driving is much more dangerous.”

“True, but I know what you mean. It seems like more planes are crashing than ever before. I’m sorry were you heading off to karate practice?”

“Yes, but you can stop me anytime.” I smiled “ I’ll see you later.”

“Don’t get worn out at practice!” she smirked.

We had a date, though I wasn’t allowed to spend the night. I felt bad for Elyse, but Jessica had pulled hard on the reins. The bit of freedom that I’d had with Elyse when I’d spent the night with her was gone, at least for the time being.

“I promise you’ll get my full attention, with plenty of energy for whatever you want!” I said with a grin.

I met Kara, Sofia, and my sister at the door. With the temperature in the upper 30’s, we donned coats over our gi and walked to the dojo. The girls didn’t come every Monday night, but all three of them wanted the exercise because they were studying hard for finals which were coming up the next week. After practice, I took a quick shower, and then Elyse and I went to her room.

“Where’s Matthew?” I asked as we undressed and got into bed.

“With Alejandra. She really enjoys watching him. I didn’t want him disturbing us!”

“I bet!” I chuckled. “What can I do for you?”

“Just love me, please. You know what I like.”

I did. She liked exactly what I liked - slow, loving, missionary position sex. A far cry from the past, when sex with Elyse had been the adventure of a lifetime.

December 9, 1987, Chicago, Illinois

“They signed the treaty yesterday,” Elyse said as we walked with Matthew and Jesse to Washington Park.

“I heard,” I replied. “Gorbachev seemed to really mean it. He’s trying to slowly change things internally in the Soviet Union and signing the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces treaty is a good thing. Both countries still have enough missiles to wipe out the world several times over, but it’s a start.”

“What does Tanya think about all of this?”

“As a diplomat, she’s happy. Her job is easier when there’s less conflict. That’s especially true for her father, given he’s in the Ministry of Trade.”

“Dada?” Jesse said.

“Yes?”

“Want to see Tanya! Want to dance with soldiers!”

“You really liked that, didn’t you?” I chuckled.

“Yes!” he said.

“I think we’ll go visit again, but it might not be until Jesse is five.”

“Five?”

“Yes, five.”

“Want to go to Disney World!”

Elyse laughed, “I think he’s watching too much TV!”

“Duck Tales!” Jesse laughed. “Donald Duck!”

“I’ll talk to your moms,” I said. “Do you watch TV with Beverly?”

“Yes! Speed Racer and Gummi Bears!”

I was concerned about that. If she was just sticking him in front of the TV she wasn’t doing what I expected of her. I hoped Jennifer and Josie agreed with me on that issue. I’d need talk to them about it, and soon. When arrived at the park, Jesse grabbed Francesca and kissed her and they walked away. They were cute holding hands, walking around away from us adults.

“How are things going at home?” I asked Carol.

“Good. Great, actually. Stan asked me to marry him.”

“Did you say yes?” I teased.

“Of course, silly!”

“And you got Francesca’s approval?”

“She just turned two!”

“Did you at least tell her?”

“No. I will when it gets closer.”

I thought that was a really bad idea. Granted, Carol had to decide what was in her own best interest, but for something like that I would have at least told Jesse about it. Francesca was at about the same stage of development as Jesse, though he was three months younger than she was.

“When?” I asked.

“August, before school starts, so we can go on a honeymoon.”

“Are you still taking classes?”

“Yes. I still want to finish and be a teaching assistant.”

“I still think you should tell Francesca right away, but that’s just my opinion. You have to do what you think is right.”

“She’s just a baby!” Carol protested.

“No, she’s a toddler, and I suspect that she is WAY more aware of what’s going on than you think she is. Have you had Stan stay the night?”

“That’s none of your business!” she huffed.

That was a ‘yes’, even though she hadn’t answered directly. And Francesca, even though she had just turned two, would sense what was going on. I was sure of it. Jesse had already grasped the relationship between kissing and mommies and daddies, even if it was simplistic understanding. He also had some idea of mommies, daddies, and babies, though it too was simplistic. I guessed the same was true for Francesca, because she’d seen Elyse and me together, and knew that Matthew was my son just like Jesse was.

“Suit yourself,” I shrugged.

“Steve, why don’t you take Matthew for a walk,” Elyse said.

I nodded and picked Matthew up from his carriage. I walked down the path that would take me in an oval around the area of the park where Carol, Elyse, and the kids were. My guess was that Elyse was going to try to talk Carol into telling Francesca. I realized that she was young, but I was sure I was right about her sensing that something was going on.

I remembered Kyle when he was little, and how quickly he’d figured things out. He had taught me that most adults seriously misjudged how much little kids understood about the world around them. My time with him had given me some insight into how to deal with my own children, and I hoped that Carol would listen to what I hoped Elyse was saying to her.

I finished the circuit and Elyse signaled it was OK to come back to where they were. It was almost time to head back to the house so we could get back to work, so I put Matthew in the carriage and called Jesse over. We all said goodbye, and after Jesse hugged Francesca, we started the walk home.

“She’s not going to tell her, is she?” I asked.

“No. Not until July. She doesn’t think Francesca can understand.”

“Bullshit,” I said, exasperated. “Kyle had the whole mommy and daddy thing figured out when he was two. I mean, at least as far as a toddler can understand that. His mom was single and he knew he wanted a daddy. And Jesse, he’s got it figured out pretty well, to the point where he teases Jen and me about kissing!”

Elyse laughed, “Do NOT judge other kids by Jesse. He’s so far ahead of the curve it isn’t even funny! But I agree with you. The thing is, Carol gets to raise her kids the way she wants to, just as you do.”

I sighed, “I agree. It’s just that she’s wrong.”

“And you’ll never make any mistakes raising YOUR kids? Ever?”

“Oh, I’m sure that I will, and you can be sure that Jesse will be first in line to point them out!”

Elyse laughed. We dropped the kids at home and headed back to the office. Dave waved me over and I walked over to his desk.

“The computer store sent over our copy of Windows 2.0. Greg is looking at it. He’s not impressed.”

We walked over to Greg’s desk.

“They copied the Macintosh OS, but they did a pretty piss-poor job. The windows can overlap now, which they couldn’t in Windows 1.0, but otherwise, there are only minor changes. But I swear, it’s almost a direct copy of Macintosh System 5, though not quite. The new Multifinder on the Mac lets you run multiple programs at the same time, and Windows is limited to 640K of RAM, and because you have DOS beneath it, it’s far more limited than the Mac.”

“A direct copy?” I asked.

“Yeah,” Greg said. “If I were Apple, I’d sue the shit out of them for stealing their stuff. If somebody copied my stuff this way, I’d sure as hell be pissed. I’m waiting to see what Steve Jobs comes up with at NeXT. The Amiga is pretty damn cool, and if they keep at it, they could knock Apple out. Or NeXT could. I don’t think the Atari 1040ST is going anywhere, though it’s decent. I hate to say it, but Apple is in pretty deep trouble. Microsoft copying them will hurt them, too.”

“I prefer the Mac, but we make our money from IBM compatibles. Well, we’ve made a lot from PRIME systems, and we’re starting to make some from Unix, but we have to be smart.”

“Oh, I agree. But Microsoft stuff is just, well, it’s inelegant.”

And that was the most damning thing that Greg could say about it.

“I need to go shopping!” I said as Jessica, Kara, and I walked out of the theater at Water Tower Place.

“Shopping?” Jessica asked.

“Yeah. Suspenders and ties. I love Michael Douglas’ look.”

“I just can’t see you saying ‘Greed is good!’” Kara said. “That doesn’t fit you.”

“No way! I liked Gordon Gecko’s style, but not his attitude. Charlie Sheen quoting Sun Tzu was awesome,” I said. “And I wouldn’t mind Daryl Hannah!”

The Strawberry Patch Book 3 Life On The SavannahChapter 15 The Holiday Stories Halloween

Halloween is a silly holiday. People dress up in silly outfits and beg for candy. We live in a spread-out neighborhood that is part up-scale homes and part farm homes. Any trick or treating to be done had to be done using transportation. Several of our neighbors had a golf cart that they used to haul garden stuff around their property, they didn’t make golf carts big enough for the Herd, so we used the 16-passenger van we had decided to buy, and we drove the Herd from house to house in...

Christmas Eve, 1999, Dutch came home to greet Rosa and Kathy with the news that Dr. Van Sciver and the board of Directors at the hospital had promoted him to the coveted position of Hospital Administrator effective after the 1st of the year. It amounted to a hundred thousand dollar raise and almost unlimited power and awesome responsibilities. Rosa and Kathy were speechless for a moment, and then they jumped all over Dutch as all three began to celebrate. Dutch picked up the phone and...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 5 MichelleChapter 78 Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous Part II

May 15, 1992, Glencoe, Illinois “Join me in my study, if you would,” Noel Spurgeon said when we finished our dessert. It had been an interesting evening. Samantha and I had talked for a bit before we’d been summoned to dinner. The meal had been prepared by a chef and was served by a white-coated young man. Again, this was a far cry from Lois at the van Hoeks’ house. What wasn’t a far cry was the fact that I was having dinner with a man who knew I was going to be sleeping with his daughter...

Sex Holiday 2 The Lifestyle Friendly Hotel in Fl

Another FantasyAfter our holiday experience in Maspalomas I was interested in finding out if wife had really meant it when she had agreed to maybe having sexual experiences during overseas holidays. After dinner one night at home I suggested we look online for a venue for our next holiday. I asked if she was up for some new experiences and she said yes. I told my wife that we could go to Florida as I had been reading about a lifestyle friendly hotel just north of Miami. We could do some...

The Strawberry Patch Book 2 Lost and FoundChapter 43 Bonus Chapter The Holiday Stories 05 Easter Day

Year 4 Easter Day began with the kids getting dressed so we could all go to church. We were not a regular church going family, but we did observe the Christian high holidays. Easter is the highest. So, we dressed, not all fancy. This holiday is not about us getting all dressed up and showing off. It is about the idea that in the eyes of Christians, God sent his son to be the sacrificial lamb for all men. No more sacrificing animals before priests. No more having to go through a priest to...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 7 SakurakoChapter 57 Land of the Rising Sun Part III

June 23, 1994, Oguni, Yamagata Prefecture, Japan My first week in Japan flew by, and a routine developed. Sakurako would wake me; I’d exercise and run, then shower and have breakfast, and share tea with Sakurako. After breakfast, I’d meditate, and then have my training session. After lunch, I’d work in the garden, or, as I had this day, wash the floors in the house. Hiroshi would accompany me back to the cottage and we’d talk while I washed up and dressed for dinner. After dinner, I’d spend...

December, 1981, Milford, Ohio On Sunday, after swimming and having breakfast with Stephanie, I called Karin, and then Stephanie and I hung out until lunch. I had let Kara know that I was going to Don Joseph’s, so I wouldn’t see her. After eating lunch, I called Stephie to see how she was doing. Things were fine at home and she was hanging out with Red and Rose, plus seeing her other friends from High School. Daryl had called her, but she wasn’t going to see him. “I miss you, Yankee. December, 1981, Milford, Ohio As I drove to Kara’s house, I thought more about my conversation with Bethany. And the more I thought about, the more I realized that I had totally missed the signs. I had fallen in love with Kara without feeling the connection — in a sense, our kisses, and even our first lovemaking, didn’t feel different from many other girls I’d been with. But it was different. It was different because I loved her. And, eventually, we HAD felt the spark of the connection. We...

Holiday of a lifetime

I'd finally done it. I'd saved enough money to go to America for a holiday. I'd always wanted to holiday at a working ranch and learn how to ride. After a long-haul flight, an internal flight and transfer by car I finally arrived at the ranch feeling jet lagged and very tired. On arrival it was late and there was a brief introduction to other guests. There were a number of other people holidaying at the ranch, mostly Americans, and they were all couples. I was the only guy on his own and I...

Jack managed to finagle a ride home with a couple of cheerleaders who were juniors. I have no idea if he got anything more from them than a lift home, and I didn’t want to know. July, 1983, Chicago, Illinois I woke up early on the First of July, because my body clock was still set to Swedish time. June 1977 When I got home, I grabbed a Coke and some chips and went right to my room. I didn’t think I could deal with my parents or Jeff or Stephanie. I just needed to be by myself. That wouldn’t seem odd to anyone, because I often went to my room to read. In addition, I now had the TV I’d received for my birthday. I flipped it on to WXIX Channel 19 and reruns of Gilligan’s Island and Green Acres played in the background while I read. I had to get my mind clear for the final exams that...

I lit a lavender candle in the room, and then swept and dusted. I did a quick spot-check of the rest of the house and noticed that the tub in the sauna needed to be cleaned. I scrubbed it, then mopped the sauna floor with a damp sponge mop. I finished cleaning the sauna about the time the washing machine finished, so I moved...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 4 ElyseChapter 64 Pull the Other One

May 26, 1991, Iron Mountain, Michigan “Shall we see if we can find a farm?” I asked at breakfast on Sunday morning. “That sounds like a great idea,” Jessica said. “There’s a visitor’s bureau in town,” Kara said. “I saw it when we were here the first time.” “I’m sorry I ruined that vacation,” Jessica said. “Ruined?” I protested. “Are you kidding? Getting you back was way more important than a few days of vacation!” “I agree,” Kara added. “Jess, you know exactly how bad off Steve was...

A WellLived Life Book 9 AnalaChapter 59 New Friends

August, 1984, Chicago, Illinois The rest of the week proceeded as expected - class on Wednesday, as well as the usual visit from Penny, work on Thursday, and class on Friday. Kara and I had lunch together at IIT, Sofia practiced her driving and parking, and I hung out with Mark Agnini after class for beers. Staci and I got into a couple of interesting debates about the Old Testament that Mark had to break up to allow others in the class to participate. She was very much of the ‘directly...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 7 Reaching the Peak

March 25, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “What time do I need to have you home?” “8:00pm will be fine,” Misty replied. “My parents are in Normal visiting my brother at Illinois State. They aren’t supposed to be home before 10:00pm.” Misty and I were in my car on the way to the NIKA apartment which, fortunately, was not being used. With our expansion, it was in more or less regular use, and that meant I didn’t have access to it as often as I would have liked. I was glad there had been a delay in...

The Holiday of a Lifetime Part 1

The Holiday Of A Lifetime by Susan Kershaw "Bye darling, have a lovely time and I'll see you in two weeks," said Tony's mother as she kissed him goodbye. "Take good care of my baby won't you Sybil, he's very precious you know." The two women hugged before saying goodbye and Tony waved to his mother as she drove away, turning his thoughts to the next fortnight which would be spent with his aunt Sybil. Aunt Sybil was his mothers step sister and Tony always felt strangely drawn to her....

My Wife at the Holiday Party

(This is a re-imagining of JetLag's "Party Game." All the credit for idea and structure goes to him. -- CO) *A few months ago, my wife Karen and I were invited to a holiday party that was thrown by my boss. It was the beginning of the holiday season, and we were eager to go to a nice party, even though it was going to be mostly attended by my coworkers. Karen and I had only been married a few years ago, after we met in college and fell in love, and we discovered very quickly in our relationship...

The Holiday that changed my life forever Part 3

Probably best if we move on to the rest of the holiday of exploration. Mike and I left Colin and Emma’s apartment and continued to meet up with them during the rest of the holiday for some more fun, but this story is about how things developed between Mike and myself as well as a couple of the girls we had gone on holiday with. It was another hot sunny day when we woke in our apartment, Mike and myself both naked in our own beds, I looked over to see Mike looking at me. ‘It’s been quite a...

The Holiday that Changed my life forever Part 1

The story begins when I was on a friends’ holiday a number of years ago, there was a group of us who went to college together, ten of us all together, 6 lads and 4 girls, and we were all good friends and had been through school as well together. Anyway as we approached our final exams, we thought it would be fun to go for two weeks of sun before we all inevitably followed our different career paths. We arranged to go to Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria and split into two’s for room sharing, I...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 20 It Happened One Night

January 17, 1989, Chicago, Illinois “What time do you have to leave this morning?” Kara asked as we showered together on Tuesday morning. “About 8:30am,” I said. “I’m driving over to get Jeri, then heading to O’Hare. We have an 11:00am flight. Assuming all goes well, we’ll be in the office by 3:00pm Pacific time. We’ll spend a couple hours going over the software then go to dinner. The demo is tomorrow. Our flight back on Thursday leaves LA at 11:00am, so we’ll be home by 8:00pm, I...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 7 Setting the Course of My Life

June 1977 Friday ended up being a non-event. The more I thought about it, the more I was sure that there was no way on this earth I could say what happened between Birgit and me was a sin. Calling it a sin would debase it into a meaningless act. I could never do that. And the more I thought about Jennie McGrath, the more sure I was that I couldn’t call what she did for me a sin, either. If the church was right, I was going to hell. And frankly, there was no way that could be true. So I...

A WellLived Life 3 Book 1 SuzanneChapter 32 Still Together

July 22, 2000, Chicago, Illinois “Albert, do you have everything packed?” Mom asked. “Yes, Mom!” I replied, rolling my eyes because she’d asked before I went to bed. “He’ll be fine, Babe,” Dad said. “Let’s walk to the hospital.” I usually didn’t get up early, but Dad had suggested it would help Mom if I walked to the hospital with her because I was leaving to see Jane for three weeks. Mom, Dad, Aunt Kara and I left the house and headed down the sidewalk towards the hospital where Mom and...

May 14, 1997, Chicago, Illinois “Start talking!” Melanie demanded when I sat down in her office about an hour later. “There isn’t much to say. Katya found the information for me when I asked her to look into several things about Brandon Littleton, Kevin Lomax, and John Milton.” “Do you know more about him?” “A LOT more. I don’t think you want to know.” “Probably not, but I’m your criminal defense attorney, and even though San Antonio doesn’t have you involved in this, you know the CPD...

“So, how should we do these Stone’s songs?” Phil asked at our rehearsal session. “I think we all know the music, we just need to come up with a pretty awesome arrangement; we don’t want to sound like yet another cheap cover band.” “I had some ideas, if it’s okay for me to make some suggestions,” Allison said. “Of course it is,” Phil said. “Everyone can have a say, there’s no rule that says you can’t participate in the discussion.” “Thanks, Phil, I guess being the newest here, I’m a bit...

Holiday of a Lifetime Part Two

I was sixteen years old and with my best friend, Simon and his parents Katie and Victor, we were spending the summer holidays on the island of Majorca in their huge luxurious villa. Another couple, who were friends with Katie and Victor were also staying with us and they were called Wendy and John.Earlier in the holiday, I found myself in the unbelievable position of being alone with Simon's mother in the villa's swimming pool where she actually seduced me into making love to her. Actually, it...

October 5, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “Hi, Tiger! I missed you!” “Hi, Babe!” We hugged and kissed more than we normally did when we met at the ER after her shift, then she hugged and kissed Kara, and the three of us started our walk home. “How was San Francisco?” Jessica asked. “Good. The User Group meeting went very well, I saw my old boss and professor, Scott Bannerman, and Bethany and I had a lot of time to talk.” “If all you did with her is talk, I’m not sure I want to go back to the...

May 11, 1992, Chicago, Illinois Monday was turning out to be a LONG day. After my run and talk with Gina, and my talk with Elyse, I had a full day at the office scheduled. First was our leadership meeting in the morning, and then I had status meetings with each team. At lunch I’d gone to see Siobhán and explained that I was going to break off the sexual relationship, but that I wanted to remain friends. She was disappointed, but admitted that Thursday would have been the last time, since she...

Dun and Dusted Part 3 Book 7 of Poachers ProgressChapter 22 Things to do in the monsoon season

“Much as I expected Lord Bentinck has decided not to court-martial the four miscreants,” said the Governor of Coimbatore. “Bringing their treacherous conduct into public knowledge would be detrimental to the reputation of not only the Honourable East India Company but also His Majesty’s Government. Disclosure could have led to the end of the East India Company, and any hope of further expansion of British influence in India.” He took a mighty gulp of brandy from his glass. “What will happen...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 23 So Now You Turn Back Into Diana Prince

January 19, 1989, En-Route from LAX to ORD When the engines of the plane started, Jeri reached over and took my hand. She held it while we pushed away from the gate, and taxied for takeoff. Her grip tightened a bit as we hurtled down the runway, but nothing like the death grip she’d had on my arm for the flight out. The plane roared its way into the air and once we leveled out, Jeri’s grip loosened but she didn’t let go of my hand. “How are you doing?” I asked with a touch of...

Life changing holiday

Some years ago when I was around my mid 30's, married with a couple of k**s. My family and I were on holiday in Cyprus. We had a ground floor 3 bedroom apartment on a quiet part of the complex. It was just off peak season so the place wasn't too busy. The apartment had a patio overlooking large grassed area dotted with small shrubs and trees where people would sit during the day to sunbathe. This area had a path running round the perimeter and it ran past the patios of the apartments.One...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 34 Old Routines and New Ideas

September 1982, Chicago, Illinois The weekend was quiet and besides homework, I worked on the program changes for Frank, called Karin, Tatyana, and Kara, and hung out with my usual study group. Monday was refreshingly normal. On Tuesday morning, I handed Katy my completed intake form. She put it in an envelope and stuck it in her bag. She said she’d let me know soon about the interview. On Tuesday afternoon, after having lunch with Stephie, I made my rounds and then I headed over to Sigma...

The Fourth Season

The Fourth Season by Cindi Johnson March 2007 e-mail: [email protected] The First Season: Autumn -------------------------------- Preoccupied with beauty, Mike failed to hear the soft sound of approaching footsteps. "Hon?" Mike froze. He felt as if a knife had slowly, painfully, pushed into his stomach. Pam's one simple word, a word imbued with longtime affection, was today a question with no answer. Dressed in a pale yellow dress, his wife's dress, Mike sat...

A WellLived Life Book 7 Kara IIChapter 35 An Interview and Some New Friends

October 1982, Chicago, Illinois The drive back to Chicago was as uneventful as usual, and I arrived at the apartment just before 6:00pm. When I arrived, Elyse and Stephie were sitting on the couch and Jackie was sitting on the loveseat. Stephie hopped up as I opened the door and greeted me with a hug and a kiss. “Hi, Peaches!” I said. “Glad you’re home, Yankee!” “Hi, Steve,” Elyse and Jackie both said. “Hey,” I replied. “How was the weekend?” “Well, it was just Kurt with me, Stephie,...

Living Next Door to Heaven 160 In Season

Our season opener against North Whitley wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be. Both JV and Varsity got beat, but only by a few points. When we analyzed the game we realized that the three-point rule would have made a difference. North Whitley's gym hadn't been refinished this year, so there was no three-point stripe. All shots were worth two points. If we'd had full count for our long shots, we'd have beaten them. Whitney had moved full-time to forward and about half the time it was...

A WellLived Life 2 Book 3 JessicaChapter 52 Lifestyle Choices

June 11, 1989, Chicago, Illinois It was just after 3:00am when I kissed Trish goodbye. She’d been an enthusiastic, energetic, and adventurous lover. We’d done just about anything either of us could think of, though her breasts weren’t large enough for a tit-fuck. The last time had been in the shower where we’d ostensibly gone to clean up afterwards, but instead I ended up taking her from behind as she leaned against the wall of the shower. “I think I’ll have you again, Steve Adams,” she...

A WellLived Life Book 1 BirgitChapter 38 Freshman Year Ends

May 1978 The first couple of weeks in May were busy with school, work, and friends. Except for Becky, I didn’t even have any dates. But I was OK with that. Well, almost OK. I wanted to see Anna, but it likely wasn’t going to happen until school was out. I had tutoring sessions with Melanie, but she still wouldn’t talk to me about anything other than Spanish. Barely a hello. I was grateful for the tutoring, but it was maddening seeing my friend this way. I hoped someday she could understand...

A WellLived Life Book 6 Kara IChapter 44 Spring Break 1982 Part I

March, 1982, Milford, Ohio As I drove along I-65, I thought about what Stephanie had asked for and what Bethany had said without even knowing about the request. Of course, because Bethany and I were so in tune, she might have actually had an idea that I was struggling with getting involved with my sister again. I kept turning it over and over in my mind and I kept coming to the same conclusion — that I shouldn’t do it. I was torn between doing what Stephanie wanted and doing what Kara and...

September 7, 1992, Chicago, Illinois “That went reasonably well,” Michelle said when her parents drove off. “There were a few times I thought my expression would give away something I shouldn’t. You were messing with me, weren’t you?” She grabbed both my hands and smiled, “I was telling the truth, in my own way. Thank you!” She leaned forward and kissed my cheek. “So, what’s left?” I asked. “To visit UofC tomorrow and formally withdraw from classes. To spend some time with you and your...

October 1981, Chicago, Illinois I arrived back at the apartment just before 10:00pm and saw the address for the party. I decided I wasn’t particularly interested in going so I put on some music, poured myself a glass of wine, and started reading more about Russia. I was alternating between the history and culture book and the Communist Party book, decided on the history and culture book for this time. I didn’t get much reading done because I was thinking about Tatyana, which led me to...

January 23, 1996, Chicago, Illinois “Father, bless!” I said, greeting Father Basil with upturned palms. “Bless you, Stephen,” he said as I kissed his hand. The waiter showed us to a quiet table along the wall of Roditys in Greektown. He took our drink orders and was back quickly. We placed our food orders right away and he left to put them in with the kitchen. “I’m not quite sure how to address this, so I’m just going to ask you bluntly. June 29, 1995, Chicago, Illinois On Thursday, I finally had lunch with Melissa again, something I hadn’t been looking forward to. Much like with Cèlia, Melissa and I had passed an inflection point and I was left with sub-optimal paths forward. I’d been struggling with the possible solutions, and all of them had pitfalls. When I walked into Takumi, I had something of a plan. Whether it was good or not would only be known once everything played out. “I spoke to my wives,” I said after we’d...

A WellLived Life Book 3 PiaChapter 25 The Puzzle and the Cat Part II

March 1980, Hovås/Göteborg, Sweden I woke early as usual, but just enjoyed being in bed with Katt. When she woke, she hopped out of bed and pulled a robe out of her closet and handed it to me. “There’s a spare toothbrush in the bathroom. Go have your shower, then we’ll have breakfast after I have my shower.” I quickly showered and brushed my teeth, and went back to Katt’s room. She went to shower and came back a few minutes later. She dressed, and I got a very good look at her sexy body...
