If the front of the store was smaller than most, then the back was an entirely different story. Beyond the curtains, the work room dwarfed the store front by many times. Not only was it the work room, but apparently, it was the storage room, dressing room, and lounge too.

From the corner where I came in, the first thing I noticed was the wall mirror on the back wall. It took up the entire wall, floor to ceiling, side to side, and made the entire space appear that much bigger. Shelves lined the other three walls. They were stuffed with a multitude of different fabrics varying in color, texture, and quantity. Lace, thread, tools, and every conceivable accoutrement ever devised for tailoring filled the shelves, lined the edges of the floor, and sat on numerous tables. In front of the shelves, racks of clothes stood out like aisles in a store. If Dana was right, all, if not most of those clothes were for women. I briefly wondered where my clothes were.

The lighting was low. Only a couple of lamps near the furniture and several more in the corner to my right were lit. I could tell there were more lights set flush in the ceiling, but none of those were on.

Shondra led us over to the furniture by the mirror. From my reflection, I looked like a tourist visiting the big city for the first time. It was no wonder she hadn’t taken me so seriously about my House or much of anything else that I claimed. I looked for all the world like the inexperienced kid that I was. I would have to continue to press forward and hopefully wipe away such impressions not only from my face, but from her perception of me too.

Shondra sat on one of the chairs. Dana and I took the couch with me closer to Shondra. Once we were all comfortable, Shondra looked at me and asked, “Is there anything special you need to do to use your power?”

I shook my head. “I only have to focus on what I need to see, much like casting a spell.”

She nodded. I held out my hand to her. She was hesitant, but then placed her hand in mine. I held her hand gently. If she wanted to pull away, I wasn’t going to attempt to stop her.

“What do I need to do?” she asked.

I shook my head. “Relax and please be patient.”

She nodded and I closed my eyes.

I still had a few questions about her situation, so I looked for that first. She said she had talked to some of the women who had been with Landeros before he became House Lord. From everything she gathered, she knew Landeros’ tastes ran from sharp slaps to serious physical harm. He varied only in how much the woman could take. The more she could take, the less he did to her. Apparently, he didn’t get as much out of it if a woman was willing. Also, no one had thought to press charges of any kind with either the police or the previous House Lord. In many cases, it would have been a matter of he-said-she-said as to what happened and what level of consent there was behind closed doors. Shondra avoided his advances on several occasions, but now that he was House Lord she couldn’t pull the same tricks. It was only a matter of time before he forced her into his bed.

I also decided to glean more information about how the House was run in general. I hadn’t asked many questions about it to date, but then with everything going on and my own reluctance to learn more, I could only blame myself.

From what Shondra understood, members only had to go in when they were called in or there was some form of meeting that required everyone’s presence, which she hadn’t attended because nothing like that had occurred while she was a member. There had been a number of meetings regarding the Lockdown, but because of the nature of the problem neither Shondra nor anyone else in her House could offer any insight or a solution.

In general, there were a number of different House leadership roles as well as member roles. The House Lord or Lady was considered the top of the House, something like the CEO of a company. Typically, they were the most experienced Magi and knew how to forge the Padrone-Stirpe bond. If a House didn’t have an official Lord or Lady, then a Head of House would be assigned until one could be found, but that rarely happened.

In higher ranking Houses, there were more stringent requirements, but Shondra didn’t know those. The House she mentioned earlier, House Metis, was the County House for Tarrant County. In the hierarchy, all of the city Houses deferred to the County House. Then, several Counties made up a District. The District House for this area was in Dallas, House Delphini. She didn’t know who the House Lord was there though. The next House up was House Pavonis in Austin. House Pavonis was the Regional House and handled issues from District houses in Texas and each of its surrounding states. Lady Blake Mendenhall of House Pavonis handled the regional issues as well as represented everyone as a member of the Council. There were eight other Council members and they got together four times a year to update each other on any big issues. The Lockdown continued to be a thorn for Lady Mendenhall.

Among the members of each House, there were officers and regular members.

Stirpi held the highest positions of rank in a House. They acted outside the normal ‘chain of command’ answering to no one but the House Lord or Lady and no one was required to report to them. They were the personal representative of their Padrone and acted on their behalf, usually taking care of situations when the House Lord or Lady wasn’t personally able to.

House Guardians were there to protect the House and its members. They were the few Magi who were allowed to use open spellcasting, and nothing was restricted to them. They were rumored to know some of the deadliest spells ever devised, not to mention defensive spells that made titanium walls and a steel reinforced concrete bunkers look like sandcastles by comparison. Sheriff and Deputy Magi were usually recruited from House Guardians.

House Lieutenants were the executive officers of the House. Whenever a new or changed rule was put into effect, it was up to them to make it happen and enforce it. They also took care of penalizing House Members who broke House rules.

The rest of the House was made up of full and associated members. Full members had taken a vow of loyalty with the House Lord or Lady. Associated members had not.

There were several other roles as well, but not every House had them, such as Trainers.

And finally, there were the individuals. Magi who didn’t associate with any of the Houses. Shondra knew a number of individuals and after Lord Landeros had become House Lord, she understood why those Magi remained separate. It wasn’t like the hierarchy was a democracy. No one had a vote in who became House Leader or officer positions. It was all about politics and loyalties, and she was getting sick of it.

House Leonis, specifically, was located a few miles south of the edge of the Lockdown. Lord Fouse had been conscious of the fact that some of his House members either lived or worked under the Lockdown and acted accordingly. However, Lord Landeros didn’t seem to care. He was changing House rules to his preferences and, so far, if anyone couldn’t abide by those rules, even if it was because they lived or worked under the Lockdown, they were punished accordingly. I was glad that I was working toward ending the Lockdown sooner rather than letting it end on its own. I hadn’t realized how many people it really affected nor how some of those Magi suffered because of it.

I was curious how life under the Lockdown differed from Shondra’s normal life. There were a thousand little things. It was like having a hand tied behind your back, or wearing an eyepatch when both of your eyes worked just fine. Sure, she could function and get along, but she was so accustomed to having constant access to her power that the Lockdown made it extremely frustrating at times.

Finally, I looked for the real reason I was sorting through her memories: how to make magic items. I was astonished at how much she knew. Shondra’s lessons started with the basics only the day after her Initiation ended. Her Aunt Estelle taught her. She even seemed to know some history, which I thought was interesting since the Law of Secrecy was interpreted as not permitting Magi to record their history.

Shondra and Estelle sat at Estelle’s breakfast table during lessons. Shondra was only eleven, but she was ready to learn everything she could. She sat with rapt attention while her Aunt spoke.

“Many, many centuries ago, long before Christ was born, we were the shamans and medicine men of the world. Everyone came to us when they were sick, or wanted blessings for a good harvest. They came to us to be wed or to seek help when a baby was to be conceived or born.

“For a long time, we used sex to generate the energy needed to perform Magic. We would gather our true believers around a bonfire, have orgies that lasted through the night, and cast our spells with the rising of the sun. We did not have the ability to hold onto the energy to use when we wished. That would not happen for a very long time.

“After the fall of the Roman Empire, we became the primary targets of those who feared and used fear to rule. Our old methods of gathering energy and casting spells marked us as something to fear and kill. Many of our ancestors sought ways to gather and store energy so we might cast spells when we needed rather than wait until we could.

“So a spell was crafted that would imbue us with the ability to store magical energy. It was shared with others who had yet to figure it out. More than that though, our ancestors learned that the long sought after ability was passed on to their children, and their children’s children. They also learned that this reservoir could be shared or taken. A Magus could be made mundane by taking away their reservoir. The Magus could continue to cast spells, but only by the old ways, and even that method was lost over time.

“Then a very clever Magus, one of our own bloodline, thought to use the same spell on a soup spoon. She gave the spoon a portion of her own reservoir and filled it with power. Then she gave the spoon a spell, which could be cast over and over until the reservoir was empty. She had made the first magic item. The knowledge was passed down and taught to other Magi, and today we have several types of magic items that can be constructed.

“The first type is the Permanent magic item. As you can imagine, this is the most powerful and most difficult to construct. You have to permanently give up a part of your reservoir to the item. It will contain energy that will automatically replenish itself from the ambient energy in the air, especially at night when most folks have sex. Since this item is permanent, it is usually made of something of very high quality, an item that could have something to do with the very spell it is constructed to cast. These items are highly sought after by Magi, and heavily controlled by the Council. Should you make one, it could take you several days to recover because it will deplete all of your energy.

“The second type is the Rechargeable magic item. As the name suggests, when the energy of this item is depleted, a Magus can refill the built-in reservoir from their own. You don’t have to give up anything permanent to make one, but due to the complicated nature of the reservoir, it could take several weeks just to construct it. These are also highly sought by Magi, and though the Council limits how many of these are in circulation, they do not care how many you have that are depleted.

“The third type is the Temporary magic item. It is the simplest to make and, as the name suggests, disposable. If the permanent item is the squeegee and the rechargeable item is the bath towel, then the temporary item is the paper towel of the trio. It can take several days to make one of these, but other than the time, it takes the least energy. There are ways to speed up the process, but we’ll get to that after you’ve learned the basics.”

Shondra spent weeks verbally reviewing the process with her Aunt, until her Aunt was sure Shondra knew the process and couldn’t forget it if she wanted to. Then Shondra made her first temporary magic item, a pencil that would stand up and write whatever Shondra said. Shondra didn’t have any skill at drawing, but with that pencil, she was able to make photo quality sketches of anything she saw or imagined. However, because the pencil was only a temporary item, the magic in it only lasted about a week. She continued to make little things like that. Things she could use around the house, but for obvious reasons not anywhere else.

During that time, she learned some of the other basics, like the fact that a temporary magic item could only hold its charge for so long. Even if it’s never used, the energy would seep out and the magic became useless. She tried her hand at making a rechargeable item. After several failed attempts, she finally succeeded with a pair of self-sharpening scissors. To this day, she continued to use them.

After Shondra left home and moved here, she continued to make magic items, not just for her House dues but for use in her tailoring business as well. Some of her customers even asked for temporary magic enchantments on their garments, usually things like built-in bust support in blouses or garments that unwrinkled with just shaking out. Even the most revealing clothes could keep a woman warm in the dead of winter with the right enchantments. So, Shondra had to figure out how to speed up the process of making magic items. Unfortunately, her Aunt had passed away before she could share her secrets, and her mother wasn’t talking to her for personal reasons that I didn’t go looking for. The enchantments Shondra devised were built into the store. All she had to do was imbue an item with the spell she wanted it to cast, the basic reservoir, and the other little things that made the process work, and then the enchantments would take care of the rest. It only took her an hour or two to do the spell work to get things started. The rest of the time, was spent letting the enchantments finish the job. I understood from that alone what needed to be done, and other than spending the time getting the process started, I didn’t see any way to make it any more efficient.

Rogue Space

Your long red locks of fiery red hair flow behind you as you skip along the rooftops above the bustling streets below, the glow of neon, and roaring sounds of the crowds below mask your movements along the roofs. It's only a small distance to the ground where the people are gathered, taken in by the signs and sounds, the smells of the spiced foods. Yup, you love a good tourist trap like this, so many fat wallets loaded with the local currency. You'd be able to swap these out for nice clean...

Bella is a garden world set to terra-form 500 years ago and only recently (50 years) populated by settlers from Earth. The colony here is 60,000 souls and I am part of the defense force assigned by Galactic Patrol to guard against asteroids, comets and other such phenomenon as might be required to protect the planet. I was almost twenty summer seasons and had been gone from home for two. I had been a sub strike leader in the fleet stalker companies. The war was over and now I was home and looking for work. With all the other warriors returning it was not easy. I caught a public transport towards the edge of the city to meet an old friend who said he had an offer for me. Rogue MagusChapter 1

Jordan was gone. I stood there watching the tail lights of the car she was in fade away into the night. I couldn’t believe what was happening. Light grew around me and then someone honked. I jumped to the side of the road. A car passed by. The driver staring at me like I had grown a second head. It was Halloween night. I had chosen a costume like that of Gandalf the Gray, but I had since left off the fake nose and beard. It made it easier to eat and drink at the party being held at my...

Finding the hospital wasn’t an issue. Google Maps helped with that. However, finding the hospital where Dalton had been taken for her specific injuries was a different matter. Oddly, I knew which one she would have gone to. I also knew the layout and where to find her inside. I could only guess that the rumor about a Padrone gaining the experience of a Stirpe was true, and it seemed to go beyond Magical knowledge and experience. I had one Stirpe, Emma Barrett, and she was a Cardiologist. I...

I was wrong about the police waiting for me when we got back to the apartment. In fact, it looked like no one was there at all. Cassandra accompanied me in. I hadn’t thought about it, but it was her night on the rotation. Since it was so late, and there wasn’t anything else I could do about Jordan tonight, we went straight to bed. She showed me just how much of her costume was ‘tear-away’ and then crawled over to me as if it were like any other night we had spent together. The problem was, I...

Lawson and I stood there staring at one another. He looked smug. Things were going his way. I honestly didn’t care if anything went his way or not. What I couldn’t afford – and neither could Jordan – was for me to be detained on some trumped-up charge. I glanced at the others behind Lawson. One was a tall blond man with the build of a pro-wrestler. Another was a Hispanic man who seemed to be distracted by Linda. The third was a small pale-skinned man who was the only one in the group wearing...

Once the cuffs were off, I told everyone to wait while I went to get dressed. “Like we would leave you alone,” Lawson said to my back. He said it low, under his breath. I wasn’t sure if he meant for me to hear him. Turning his comments back around on him was childish, but it would probably be the only way to convince him to stop – or really piss him off to the point he does something suitable to have him removed as Deputy. I turned and met his eyes. “Good, because what I’m planning could be...

At first, when we left campus, I thought we were going back to my apartment, but Michael drove past it and went to I-20. He took it going east. I had an idea where we were going but not why. When we hit the exit for South Collins, I knew where we were going. The reason still eluded me. Michael pulled into the parking lot of a warehouse near a small airfield. I sat down at the table with Augur. “If only those who are being rude call you that, what should I call you?” She smiled. Now that I knew where I knew her from, I realized that she really didn’t look different. There were small changes, something like what I did to myself when I was running from my pursuers the day before. In her case, however, the changes made her look good. I was afraid of how I would feel if I were wrong. I woke up, and it took a second for me to remember where I was. It looked like my room, but the ceiling was wrong, as were the colors of the walls. When I remembered, I turned to find Dana lying next to me. She was making little noises in her sleep and wriggling around. Whatever she was seeing, she certainly seemed to be enjoying it. I was mildly surprised that I woke up first. Emma woke up before I did when we forged our bond, and with my Fonti, the duration of my unconsciousness grew...

I wasn’t sure what to do about Dana’s attitude, but I knew I didn’t like it. She was my Stirpe now, so didn’t that mean she had to follow my lead? I knew she had to follow my orders, but I wasn’t going to do that. I simply didn’t understand why she acted so nonchalant about Michael’s news. Was that how most Padroni behaved? I understood that my status had changed with regards to Magus Law, but did that really make me better than anyone else? I didn’t think so, and acting like news like...

The drive to our destination was quiet, which gave me time to think. I was still puzzled as to why Jordan was taken. Assuming Valory was involved, and no evidence had been found to suggest she wasn’t, then I knew the answer to my question: she wanted me to stay out of her business. Of course, there was the nagging problem of why she hadn’t tried to contact me to make sure I understood what she wanted. Sunlight. Dawn. My bedroom was never this bright. What was going on? I cracked an eye open to look at the windows. My drapes were missing. There were more windows than there should have been. And they were angled funny, surrounding the bed. I opened both eyes and sat up. I wasn’t in my room. I knew I would have plenty of space in Chloe’s bedroom to change clothes, though it was going to be a bit unnerving with all of those huge bay windows being completely open to her back yard. My only relief was that she had seen fit to have a privacy fence surround her back yard. Then I noticed the house behind hers. It was two stories, which made the fence moot. More than that, I was pretty sure someone was standing in one of the windows that could see into her bedroom. “Problem?” Chloe...

Lunch with Faith was fun. I didn’t even have to say anything, really. One question sent her off on a bewildering story of how everyone was so nice, and everything was so great. Then she started telling me about her co-workers. I didn’t pay close attention, only really listening out for key phrases that might cause problems for her. I did notice that though there were a few guys she mentioned, none of them apparently rated high enough on Faith’s chart to deserve more than a name and quick...

Rogue MagusChapter 31

The drive from my apartment to House Cerenkov was relatively short. My apartment was about a mile south of UTA whereas House Cerenkov was a compound located in a large open area of Arlington just Northwest of UTA. I tried to ask Chloe why she had been so reluctant to drive me out here, but she refused to answer my questions. We were going West on West Division street when she slowed down and turned right onto a long, lonely drive. In the distance I could see a collection of buildings. Some...

Rogue MagusChapter 33

Greta crawled onto the bed. She moved like a big cat on the prowl, all slow, graceful, fluid motion. Her eyes watched me and I really felt as if I were being hunted, only not as a meal. There was a certain forwardness to her that did more for me than anything else. She was toned, not muscular. She didn’t have the huge breasts that I seemed to both attract and felt attracted to, but that didn’t stop my reaction. Her eyes dropped. I was still wearing that silly costume for House Cerenkov, but...

Rogue MagusChapter 34

I awoke to the sounds of urgent discussions and then everyone stopped talking. “I think he’s awake,” someone said. I blinked open my eyes and looked around. Dana, Michael, Greta, Chloe, Ella, Katrina, and Cassandra were all gathered in my bedroom. Cassandra and Chloe looked at one another, throwing each other contemptuous glances. I rolled to my side and then sat up. I was still naked. It appeared that Greta woke up first, got dressed and then went and said something that turned into this...

Rogue MagusChapter 35

Fear. It is one of the most basic emotions. Every creature on earth feels fear, typically when their own life is at stake. My life wasn’t at stake. I wasn’t scared of dying, though that was in there. I was scared of failing. I was terrified that I might go to the school and still not understand that damned spell. I was scared to death of having to leave Jordan trapped for weeks or months more while I unraveled the mysteries Valory had woven. Emma’s kisses helped staunch my fears. Whatever...

Rogue MagusChapter 36

For the fourth time in the same day, I woke up from sleep induced by forging a bond. I wasn’t alone this time either, though the company wasn’t expected exactly. Linda leaned over me. “How are you feeling?” I blinked at her and stretched. “Rested.” She smiled. “I heard you’ve been busy.” I nodded. “Yes, but I’m also ready to end the Lockdown. I have everything I need, and everyone who is going to help is bound to me so they’re free to use their powers too.” “Everything in only two days?”...

Rogue MagusChapter 37

“How can you possibly know where the power is being stored?” Ella asked. “The missing women are acting as batteries for the power,” I said. I looked at Greta. “We had to know where Valory would be when I ended the Lockdown, well, the location is one and the same. I use the spell to track down Jordan, and we’ll not only know where Valory will show up, but I’ll be able to shut down the spell there.” Chloe frowned at me. “Are you sure the spell will recognize you as the caster?” I looked at...

Rogue MagusChapter 38

The adrenaline and fear incited by the Syndicate’s attack slowly faded as I drove. My shoulder ached and I felt like someone had used a cheese grater on my back. I checked my mirrors almost constantly. It didn’t look like anyone was following me. I wasn’t sure whether to be thankful about that or even more worried. Maybe, once I ended the Lockdown, this madness with the Syndicate would cool off for a while. I had to go a bit further north when I reached highway 360. Then I took Randol Mill...

Rogue MagusChapter 40

Darkness was the passageway between encounters. I lost count of how many I had been through since seeing Jordan. For the most part, walking through a doorway was how I traveled from one to another. This encounter however, I found myself standing outside on a hot summer night. I turned in a circle, taking in the details. I was near Brozos House and had two large suitcases with me. I knew what night this was. I knew what was about to happen. I also remembered that this wasn’t real, but an...

Rogue MagusChapter 41

Completing the rest of the gauntlet wasn’t as complicated as I had been worried about. So long as I went along with whatever the woman wanted, I was okay. At least, I never returned to the white space with Rho. Instead, after finishing the last encounter, I returned to the white space and found Valory there. Valory blinked as she looked around. So far as she knew, she had just completed the gauntlet successfully. As far as I knew, she had to wait for me a bit. I ended up enjoying a number of...

Rogue MagusChapter 42

I woke up in the hospital the next morning. Jordan was in one of those pull-out chairs that unfold into a very uncomfortable bed. She looked relieved. I felt it too. “Good mornin’, sleepy head,” she said with a soft smile. I nodded. “How are you feeling?” “Better than you look,” she said. I smiled. “That bad, huh?” “Well, you were unconscious when the feds arrived,” she said. “It took a bit of ... you-know-what to convince them to let you go to the hospital rather than arrest you.” A...

Rogues Story Part Four a Absorption

Rebecca thinks back to the first night with Travis. The relief she felt when she gave in, admitting out loud that she wanted him. The pleasure she felt when his fingers pushed deep inside her pussy. She had in the past heard woman talking about orgasms. She always thought that they had been exaggerating the feelings, to get one up on each other. She had never realised that her body could feel like that. Like a drug she knew she needed more. She is unable to get back to sleep after her dream....

Rogues Story Part Two Captivated

Rebecca stands on the raised platform in the ball room, wearing the electric blue silk dress her husband bought her as a gift from his last trip to India. The material clung to her small waist, and down over her curvaceous hips, it glided down her long legs to her ankle with a suggestive slit up to her thighs. Her long brown hair is pinned back exposing her neck, and her cheeks were flushed pink not just with the make-up she was wearing, but from the heat burning deep inside, that she had...

Rogues Story Part Five b Admission

On his return from dropping Rebecca at the helipad and after going on a little shopping trip, Travis is in his boxers sprawled out on the massive bed of the hotel room. He is eating his way through the box of Indian sweets, which he had found on the bed, left by the turn down service. He’s flicking through the TV channels trying to find something in a language he could understand, when there is a loud knock on the door.  He throws the foul tasting sweet back in the box. Switching the TV off,...

Rogues Story Part ThreeReflection

She stands at the kitchen sink, the bubbles from the washing up liquid covering her hands. She stares out of the window into the back garden but her eyes are glazed, locked into a different time and space, her hands working as if on autopilot but her mind unaware that she has been cleaning the same plate for the past ten minutes. She closes her eyes as the feeling of the lead weight in the pit of her stomach grows, the bile rising in her throat past the lump of tears that refuses to flow. Her...

Rogues Story Part Four b Absorption

In the distance she hears the telephone ring, but is too overwhelmed with the shock of Travis carrying her upside down up the stairs in his strong arms, that she dismisses it immediately. He kicks open the first door, it’s the bathroom. Before he destroys every door in the house, she breathlessly she cries “Down the hall on the right.” The blood continues to rush to her head. He flings open her bedroom door and roughly throws her on the bed, crashing on top of her. He savagely rips open the...

Rogues in Town

“I will have to ask Nurse Awarrak to pop in and give me a hand,” I told Mrs Beswick-Sampson. “You OK with that?” The formidable 74 year old lady from the manor on the pretty edge of the town, lying completely naked, face up, both feet in the highest possible gynaecology stirrup position on the examination table smiled weakly and nodded ... then asked. “She’s new to the surgery is she Doctor Moss?” I merely nodded as I ripped off my latex gloves, dumped them in the medical waste bin and...

Pantyhose wife and friends continued

After cumming all over Felicity, Pat and Sue's faces I sat down in the chair beside the bed as they began kissing each other and cleaning the cum off each others faces. They didn't stop there, dropping back on the bed they began fondling each other. Felicity and Pat soon got into a sixty nine, licking each others nylon covered pussies while Sue lay beside them fingering her pussy through her pantyhose. I had fancied Pat and Sue for years especially Pat and had fantasised about fucking them many...

Fallen SkiesChapter 4

Tama and her fellow cadets had survived their first six months of what is called Basic training at the Trueshot Scout and Ranger Academy, most students just called it justifiable homicide of instructors if they were given the chance. The instructors had learned to ask what Tama could already do before trying to force her to do things their way and only their way. They now had a class that might prove to the instructors that Tama is only mortal and not all knowing, or at least that is what...

Seducing My Brotherinlaw For My Needs

Hi, this is ilrumjack here again. This is about a story long back in my life when I was brought into the world of sexual pleasures. I am not going to be presenting this story from my viewpoint. It is generally misconstrued by everyone that only men have carnal desires and they do anything for it. Hence, I am presenting this story from my bhabhi’s point-of-view. This is her version of how things led to her relationship with me. Here it goes, in her words: Let me introduce myself. I am Radha and...

Hospital stay

I was just remembering a time in my early twenties. Again, i was causing problems or getting into trouble. My drinking had been out of control. I decided to do an inpatient treatment plan at the new (at least then) Bellin Health Hospital. There were two males or females assigned to each room, i believe it was on the second floor at the time. I had a few roomates over the course of my program. Halfway through my 28 days however i had a two day/night reprieve from any roommate. I had been...

Delta OriginalChapter 5 Kazan Island

Nyoni looked up when she heard the noise. Another machine was traversing the sky heading towards the north-east. She had felt a shift in the magical energies from that area and now believed that the visitors had found the Giants. She knew it wouldn’t be long before they found them too. She sighed. Unlike the Giants, it wasn’t a spell that kept her people tied to their islands. It was their fear. Her people hadn’t fared well at the hands of humans in the past. While the Genteli were more...
