January 1970, age 14

Double dating didn’t end up being as bad as I’d feared. Peter had been going out with Jacqueline since the OHMSS premiere, so we became a foursome. Ellie and Jacqueline together worried me a little as they seemed to feed off each other’s wildness, but we kept our next few dates on pretty safe ground. Ellie wanted to go back to the penthouse — that wasn’t happening so I lied, saying I’d got in trouble for using it last time.

The thing that I took away from the meeting with Dan and Ewan, the thing that really troubled me, was the impact of security on my life. I had become used to having a bodyguard. I had even become immune to the eyes watching me from shadows whenever I was out in public. But discovering the vast scale of my protective operation was scary. I thought it was completely over the top, but I wasn’t about to bet my life on it. And I was fairly sure it would get worse still once I formally took charge of the company.

Those thoughts percolated over a week or so, leading to an idea that I put to Ewan one afternoon.

“I want to go backpacking around Europe this summer.”

I think he just about shit himself. It was good that I hadn’t picked a moment when he was driving.

“Are you out of your mind?!”

“More than usual, you mean? Answer me this: lots of kids go travelling for their gap year before uni, right?”

“Yeah.”

“And my security isn’t gonna get any smaller as I get more and more visible, is it?”

“No.”

“So how likely is it that I could do a gap year travelling after I turn eighteen and have the company to run?”

“Okay, not very.”

“So if I want to see the world without it being from the inside of a bullet-proof car, when would be the best time to do that?”

“About five years ago, before anyone knew that you were loaded!”

I always got a little tetchy whenever Dan used this technique of tactical questioning against me, so I understood Ewan’s annoyance.

“Try and see my side for a minute, please. I’m just starting to realise how big a deal my security is. And some of the things I’m planning for the company will be newsworthy, so we may have paparazzi to contend with too. I just want a chance to do something that normal kids do before it’s too late. You can understand that, can’t you?”

Ewan studied me for a few moments. “Dan’s going to have a fit.”

I gave him a wry smile. “Why do you think I’m talking to you.”

“I can’t promise anything”, Ewan said. “Here’s what I suggest. First, decide on a rough route. Get a map and figure out where you’re going and how you’re going to get there. Will you travel by train, or bus, or plane? Will you stay in hotels, or youth hostels, or camp sites? Are there particular things you want to do or visit? Also, is it smart to return to school for your O-Level year exhausted after travelling all summer? What if you just did four weeks, then end up at the villa in Italy for weeks five and six? Figure all that out, get a basic itinerary on paper, and I’ll figure out the security. Then, and only then, we put it to Dan.”

Thus was born Operation Backpack.

Peter had his fifteenth birthday party in January, which was a typically provocative Hawaiian themed disco. Everyone was expected to wear skimpy costumes despite it being January and bloody freezing outside. Still, it was a lot of fun, and the indoor hall was suitably warm.

On the business front, the time was approaching for a big acquisition. The famous book publisher Penguin was in serious financial trouble and, to make things worse, their founding boss had cancer: a double-whammy that left the company floundering. Cue Dan. He went in and proposed a merger with our Longman publishing house, to form the largest fiction publisher in the UK. The publisher Pearson was also interested, but we had the foreknowledge to get in first.

In February, construction finally began on the company’s new Cambridge campus. Less happily, our London theme park project was still locked in an eternal battle for planning permission. It was time to start playing dirty. Parliament was in the fourth year of a possible five-year term, but we knew there would be an early general election that summer. So we took out full page adverts in seven national newspapers, staggered one each day over a week, to highlight that thousands of new jobs were being blocked by bureaucrats with no sense of fun. All it took was a few ads portraying the Labour government as anti-business and anti-jobs, and suddenly Dan had an invitation to Westminster to meet with a Minister.

A bill was quickly nodded through parliament to overrule the local council, essentially giving us carte blanche. A little bit of money and Marvel Parks London got a bright and shiny green light. Democracy is a beautiful thing.

By that time the design work for the park was well advanced. It would consist of four zones. The Movie Zone would be the biggest, with film-themed rides and a studio tour (which meant building a working studio there as an extension of our Shepperton facilities). James Bond would feature prominently in that zone. Then there was the Superhero Zone, themed around Marvel Comics characters, and a Land of Wonder themed around characters from children’s books. Last would be the Royal Zone, with an actual-size replica of Buckingham Palace as the centrepiece. Inside the shell facade would be various indoor rides (dodgems in the Throne Room anyone?), which wouldn’t be subject to the capricious British weather. There would be mock-soldiers marching about in their grand red uniforms and tall bearskins (with real looking guns that were actually water pistols to squirt people at random). And there would be a military band for the ‘changing of the guard’ (playing military marches which would suddenly break into pop and rock songs for the solemn soldiers to do silly dances).

We had pulled together designers and engineers from across the world to make our rides unique and record-breaking. We would only have three coasters at the opening, but there was space for plenty more. The initial three would include the world’s first double loop, the first vertical drop and the first inverted coaster with hanging seats. The park was going to be groundbreaking and ahead of its time, helped of course by a little future knowledge.

By February half-term I had produced an outline plan for the summer. Ewan had taken me shopping for maps, guide books and so on which proved an invaluable resource. As far as possible, I wanted to do things as a regular backpacker would. So not being chauffeur driven and treated as a VIP. The good news was that continental Europe had an excellent rail network, and trains were okay from a security point of view. Ferries too. Buses, not so much.

When our annual ski trip arrived, I was glad to get away for the week. Not just to get away from school, but from Ellie. After six of our weekly double-dates, the two of us were clearly in very different places. I had been enjoying the social experience of dating, with my self-confidence growing and my ‘technique with girls’ improving. Peter was my role model in that respect, as he always seemed completely at ease, charming and funny in a way that Jacqueline clearly found compelling. The problem was that Ellie never seemed satisfied with that. Ever the wild one, she was back to being pushy, which increasingly meant pushing towards sex.

It may seem completely implausible for a teenage boy to be putting the brakes on the sexual side of a relationship, but that’s how it was, and not just because of Dan and Ewan’s warning. My boundaries had been pushed a long way very quickly back when we played strip revision, and our first date where I went all dominant on her was a big step forward too. The problem was that I’d kind of scared myself, and by this point, my head was firmly ruling my hormones. There was still the occasional dalliance, usually quick and discrete and not pushing beyond what we’d done before. Ellie wasn’t very satisfied with that, and the imbalance between our expectations was a little uncomfortable.

Quite the opposite was my relationship with my uncle, which by February half-term had found a comfortable level of normality. Once he stopped either being an arsehole at one extreme or trying too hard to be nice at the other, I found that somewhere in the middle was actually a half decent guy. I won’t say that we became friends overnight, but I was steadily moving towards not hating him. He came skiing with us and proved to be utterly hilarious in how bad he was! He took it in good humour and refused to give up. He never did graduate from the nursery slopes, though.

Caity and I didn’t usually bring friends with us on our ski holidays, except for Harry who was family. This time, my eleven-year-old sister decided it was monumentally unfair that I’d been allowed to take Harry with me last year. So she should be allowed two friends with her this year to balance things out. Mrs O’Keef sided with her (I will never understand girl logic), and Mrs O was a force to be reckoned with in our household, so Caity got her way. Even Dan was cautious of taking on Mrs O!

So Caity got to invite two friends, which I didn’t object to as such. The problem was that she invited the twins. That meant Caity’s best friend Susan, and Susan’s twin brother Simon. This was the same little shit that had escorted Caity to the film premiere last Christmas. The same little shit that she had fancied for a while. Perhaps if we sent him on one of the black runs, he might accidentally break both his legs. Accidentally.

Simon was sharing a room with Harry and me, so as soon as we were alone, I went psycho-brother on him. “Just so you know, if I find that any part of you has come in contact with any part of my sister this holiday, you’ll be bidding farewell to your testicles. Got it?!”

He just laughed at me. Little sod laughed at me. Not the response I was going for. Perhaps I needed to introduce him to Bruce Lupson. Or maybe he didn’t understand what testicles were. I backed him against the wall as menacingly as I could.

“Hey, alright, I got it”, he said, raising his hands in surrender. “No tonguing till we get back home.” He had a cheeky look on his face, and I worried that he was serious. “If I’ve got to avoid all the hotties, does that mean I can hang out with you guys?”, he asked hopefully.

I walked into that one, but at least if he was with us, I could keep an eye on him. In fact, it turned out that he spent more time that week with us than he did with the girls, much to my little sister’s annoyance. I also couldn’t help but like the kid despite wanting to hate him. He was just an all-round nice guy, and I grudgingly accepted why Caity liked him. Of course, when I discovered that the little shit was a better skier than me, I went back to planning his demise.

On our second day, Simon commented that there was a group of guys who seemed to be stalking us. I had to quietly explain to him that Caity and I never went anywhere without bodyguards. Not even the ski slopes.

When Dan asked me what I’d like for my birthday that year, my reply was simple: “Permission to go backpacking around Europe this summer”. I knew as soon as I’d asked it that Ewan had got there first, as there was no explosion or even surprise.

Life Diverted Part 2 AdulthoodChapter 7 Retribution

November 1973, age 18 November has to be the worst month of the year. The clocks have changed, so the days are shorter, and the weather is invariably miserable. Add to that the funeral of my best friend’s mum, and it became the antithesis of the season of cheer. Kelly Redpath’s funeral took place at Morden crematorium, not far from home (which we had now re-occupied after extensive building work). Harry seemed numb, understandably. I’d been in his shoes and knew how he felt. The police had...

Life Diverted Part 2 AdulthoodChapter 10 Sinking

September 1974, age 19 The academic year 1974-75 was either a triumph or a descent into depression, depending on which way you looked at it. My relationship with Charlie had been patched, but not entirely repaired. I negotiated with his mother for him to come down to stay every other weekend, but there was no getting around the fact that we were growing apart. The kids at the home all started their new schools in September, scrubbed and fitted with new uniforms. For some of them, it was...

Life Diverted Part 2 AdulthoodChapter 6 Tradecraft

August 1973, age 18 Helplessness is a truly horrible sensation. Agent Marks’s unvarnished proclamation that our home had been bombed caused Caity and Charlie to start crying and asking questions. Simon and Susan were trying to console Caity, and the Wilsons didn’t understand the significance. I was as shocked and upset as anyone else, but it eventually hit me that I was the only person in the room who could step up and act as parent. “Everyone, quiet! QUIET!” They stopped talking, though...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 21 A Friendly Wager

July 1971, age 16 I love Los Angeles. I love the buzz, the beaches and the bikinis. On the other hand, I hate California’s age of consent law. I hadn’t really expected to be bedding anyone during this trip, but when I saw one particular young lady appear by the hotel pool, she got a definite rise out of me, and suddenly the law was an annoyance. The girl was probably a little older than me and well developed in a good way. And her two piece swimsuit was barely legal. She certainly knew how...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 5 The World Cup

One evening during January 1966, Grandpa took me into his study and told me about a new business deal he was doing. He was trying to add another leg to the company octopus. A leg that would build aeroplanes. He told me about a famous company, Rolls-Royce, that was planning to buy another company, Bristol Aeroplanes. Rolls wanted to expand by adding Bristol’s engine division to their own. The thing was that Bristol also owned twenty percent of another big company, the British Aircraft...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 19 The End Of The Beginning

March 1971, age 16 My O-Level exams were scheduled to begin the second week of May and stretch into the middle of June. O-Levels (and the equivalent CSEs taken by the less academically able) were the qualification you got at the end of twelve years of education, age 16. It was the milestone where many left school. If you wanted to enter the next phase of education, namely two years of A-Levels and potentially university after that, it was absolutely critical you pass your O-Levels. The...

Life Diverted Part 2 AdulthoodChapter 2 Privacy

April 1973, age 18 It was the Sunday after Easter, the penultimate day of April. The last of the chocolate eggs had been demolished, so it was much like any other lazy Sunday. Except, it was also the day after the ‘incident’ with Caity and Simon. Conflicted was the word of the day. On one hand, I had completely flipped-out, losing self-control in a borderline psychotic moment. Okay, that’s an exaggeration. But at the very least, I had lost my cool and acted without thinking things through....

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 18 Charlie and Reginald

December 1970, age 15 Two days after Christmas, Dan, Harry and myself were on the road north to Sheffield. We had debated bringing Harry’s mum but decided it was kinder to leave her in ignorance. When we reached our old home town, it felt like old times checking into the usual hotel. It was two Christmases ago that I was last there, back when Grandpa was still alive. That meant it had also been two years since I’d been to my parents’ graves. I resolved to fix that. The surveillance op was...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 16 An Adventure

Day 1 — London to Weymouth Here beginneth the diary of my summer in Europe, late July and August 1970. It was just Harry, Ewan and myself on the trip, as neither Peter nor Tommy had been allowed to go. I was severely pissed off about that at first, but family holidays had already been booked which I couldn’t legitimately argue over. I would miss having Pete as a confidence-boosting wingman with any girls we might meet, but alas, it was not to be. Hey ho. The start of our expedition was a...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 23 Big News And Big Business

July 1971, age 16 After a week at Glastonbury, two weeks in the States and a brief excursion to Africa, I was looking forward to home comforts and my own bed. I was also hotly anticipating the following Monday morning when I would start flying lessons. There were two weeks left of July (flying in the mornings, company stuff in the afternoons), followed by our usual three-week family holiday at the villa in Italy. But all those wonderful plans went to shit with the news that Charlie and his...

July 1973, age 18 I was woken by someone banging on my bedroom door. “WHAT?”, I yelled from within my bed covers. The door opened, and Dan stepped inside looking annoyingly fresh and awake. “It’s past nine”, he told me. “Ewan mentioned your idea of doing something high visibility today to draw the press away from the villa. That seems a good idea to me, so get your lazy arse out of bed, eh?” I wanted to tell him to go do something rude to himself, but he had a point. “I’ll be down in a...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 14 Dating

December 1969, age 14 My bad mood lasted the rest of the year. Thankfully none of the press overheard my rant at the cinema, or it really would have been a mess. The reviews of the film were not great, and personally, I was glad the history books said it would at least earn back its production costs. A commercial hit it was not. My prolonged bad mood was the product of several things. First and foremost was the four-month dry spell without a blowjob to relieve my tension. Obviously, I...

Life Diverted Part 2 AdulthoodChapter 9 Trauma

July 1974, age 19 Monday 15th July was the day of the Cypriot coup. But it was the following day that my future shrink would describe as my ‘traumatic episode’. It was nothing to do with staging a little war for television ratings, or the lingering guilt about the loss of Ewan’s arm, or my complicity in any number of the other questionable acts. Those would at least have been rational. On Tuesday the 16th, I discovered that I’d lost my baby brother. Or, at least, that’s how my brain...

September 1971, age 16 To quote Ernst Stavro Blofeld, we were about to inaugurate a little war. It would be brief and relatively bloodless. Hopefully. Perhaps more of a skirmish. Its purpose was to make the defence solution my company was providing to the Emirates utterly indispensable. It would take place on Monday 29th November, so we had the best part of three months. The villain of the piece: Iran. But first, the small matter of going back to school. When we got our new timetables the...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 8 Battle Plans

21st December 1966, age 11 & three-quarters Christmas looked like it was going to be a pretty miserable time. The story the orphanage staff told us was that Harry had been in a fight. Someone had stolen Harry’s watch, the prop from Thunderball that Sean Connery had given him. Harry had confronted the presumed thief, and that older kid had thrown the first punch which led to the police being called. The coppers, unsurprisingly, had far better things to do with their time. But the...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 4 Running while others walk

May 1965, age 10 The next few weeks established my routine that would last for years. I would drag myself out of bed in the morning (I’ve never been a morning person), wolf down my breakfast, go to school (where I would try my hardest but not get anywhere fast), be entertained by Peter, come home, swim, do homework, watch television (which I had only discovered since living with Grandpa), hear more stories demonstrating my grandfather’s clinical insanity, and go to bed. One addition to that...

July 1967, age 12 It was the summer of love, apparently. The London suburb of Wimbledon didn’t seem to be any more or less loving than normal, but I did at least go and buy the Beatles record Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, which became the soundtrack to the summer. Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 6 An Ugly Future

August 1966, age 11 In the summer of 1966, Jimmy Savile was already a well-known figure. He had been the face of ‘Top Of The Pops’ since it began on television in 1964 and had been on the radio even longer. I had watched the show every week since discovering television a year earlier, so for me to find that this man that I was in awe of was actually a prolific child abuser was a hell of a shock. As Grandpa sat behind the old oak desk in his study, a look of recognition came over him, and he...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 11 Requiescat In Pace

April 1969, age 14 I heard Dan pounding up the stairs at full pelt, and he was at my side within seconds. Another security guy followed him, speaking into a walkie-talkie, and moments later Mrs O’Keef gripped me firmly by the arm and led me out of the room. For a lady in her late fifties, she was surprisingly strong. Caity had also appeared and was asking what was going on. All I could say was: “It’s Grandpa”. A few minutes later I heard an ambulance siren and then there were ambulance men...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 13 One Small Step

July 1969, age 14 So my fifteenth summer was an interesting time. We played strip revision twice more, but with the proviso that we not go beyond oral sex. A few of the group were frustrated with that rule, but I was strangely relieved. The downside was that the knife-edge excitement of the first time was gone. In any case, the exams were soon over so the whole revision group came to an abrupt end, at least until the next year. In the last few weeks before term finished, I competed in the...

November 1971, age 16 The remainder of my time in the United Arab Emirates was rather less stressful than the morning of our little war. In retribution for Dan setting me up for a fall, Sheikh Maktoum had him shackled and carted off to prison for ritual torture. I’m kidding. He insisted we join him at his father’s palace for lunch as honoured guests. His father was the Emir of Dubai, a very wealthy man, second only to the Emir of Abu Dhabi in the UAE. We ate well and built a useful...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 3 Under the doorstep

When Monday morning came, I was more than a little nervous about starting a new school. I went down to breakfast wearing my new uniform: grey knee-length short trousers, white shirt, gold and navy striped school tie, navy jumper with a patch sewn on with the school crest, and a school cap. Caity was already there wearing the same uniform (skirt instead of shorts) and told me that Mrs O’Keef had tried to teach her how to tie her tie. It looked alright, so I guessed that Mrs O’Keef had done...

Flying HighI walked down the ramp at Heathrow, back onto the flight for Sydney. Another long flight, no doubt dull and boring. It was going to be cramped too. My company’s new policy of Business Class only for VPs flights was taking hold. Nevertheless with my high number of frequent flyer points and status, I had scored a window seat at the back with a spare seat beside me. Only three seats in the row, so I might get some peace and privacy.I got onto the plane and was shown my seat. The...

Life Diverted Part 1 ChildhoodChapter 12 Pushing Boundaries

June 1969, age 14 The summer of ‘69 was when I really perfected being rebellious, and I wasn’t the only one. I was a teenager, so it was in the job description for me. I don’t know what Caity’s excuse was. After an intense couple of weeks of Uncle Will’s petty meddling in our lives, things had reached boiling point. Caity and I had zero respect for the man, so we settled on a new strategy: we completely ignored him. He could shout and scream at us all he liked (and did so extensively) but...

July 1973, age 18 It was late Monday night by the time I arrived home from Italy. I had spent the whole journey deep in thought. Stewing, as Ewan put it. Dan had waited up for me, but when I sank into an armchair across from him, I didn’t know what to say. Eventually, he interrupted my thoughts. “Come on, Finn. Talk to me.” I shrugged and told him, “I’m angry at myself”. He looked surprised. “Why? This wasn’t your fault.” “Oh don’t worry, I’m angry at you too. There’s plenty of blame to...

I decided I wanted to go fly, just tool around over the valley, free and happy. Report to the King of Sparta. B.C 481 "We must conclude that there was more then one Persian ship in our waters. When one met with disaster in the storm, the other picked up survivors and as much wreckage as it could. The shield is the only piece of wreckage that signifies Persian identity. There can be no doubt that it was a spying mission or an attempt to land agents of Persia on our soil or the soil of a neighbouring state. Xena Versus The Spartans

It was a time of horrible raids by terrible marrauding hordes, which caused untold misery, fear and poverty in all of Pelopones. It was a time when Xena and Gabrielle were needed by all the towns, before it is too late, but she was nowhere to be found. The century before had been a good time for all, under the Cooperation Accord of Olympia, there was piece between all the polises, and Xena could concentrate on petty crime and feuding Gods. But now Xena had been on a mission in Asia for years,...

Lifeboat Introduction

This is not the story of how my mother, my sister, and I escaped that catastrophe, of how the starliner Pegasus II tried to escape the disaster into FTL only to be destroyed by debris, of our flight to and rendezvous at the lifeboats, of the 24-person lifeboat jettisoning with just the three of us aboard. There are at least a dozen such accounts from the 87 survivors from the Peg, and most, to be honest, are more compelling. This is not the story of the first tumultuous hours after the...

Fear of Flying

FEAR OF FLYING By Audrey [email protected] (C) 2018 June 10 All Rights Reserved AUTHOR'S NOTE: Permission is granted to post this story on any free archive for transgender or transformation stories, such as Fictionmania. I REALLY HATE FLYING, I thought to myself. My name is Kam. I'm 30 years old, and I live in Seattle, Washington. And, for as long as I could remember, I hated traveling by air. Unfortunately, I had a job in finance that required me to travel fairly...

Lifes Strange Turns Part 2

Introduction: Youll want to read Part 1 first! Lifes Strange Turns, Part 2 The phone rang, waking both Karen and myself with a start. Wed slept for only about 15 minutes. Well, it would have been bad to sleep longer, but it would have been almost tragic if the phone had rung while we were writhing around having such marvelous sex. Especially if shed had my cock in her mouth I thought! To give Karen some phone privacy and to take care of some personal hygiene issues, I ran into the shower and...

My 4F Childhood Farm Family Flying and Fiddle Music

Once upon a time, a thousand years ago (or so it seems), I was a farm boy whose father had an unusual hobby. Dad was a World War II fighter pilot with enough kills to be an ace, but it didn't make any difference to him; he just liked to fly. He had flown with some kind of barnstorming group before the war. While barnstorming, he was inspired to sign up and he was sent to learn how to fly fighters. He met my mom about that time, immediately married her, and started creating my sister. In the...

Lifeboat Chapter 1

Mom and Dad had been planning to renew their vows that very evening, and Mom had arrived at the lifeboat directly from the station where she had been shopping and getting made up for the ceremony. She was already in her white dress, tight around her torso to accentuate her remarkable figure but flowing in the skirt to give her an ethereal look. She wore white stockings underneath, the lacy tops barely visible where the skirt had ridden up. Like the rest of us, she was shoeless, probably...

Lifeboat

PART 1 Them fuckin’ Armed Services get all the credit, but who gets their asses blown out of the water to get them their crap, for chrissake? Us fuckers in the Merchant Marine, that’s who. Goddamn sub-bait. And then they don’t send nobody to fish us out. Goddamn Krauts. Goddamn war! Cookie bobbed in his lifejacket and watched his ship disappear, a sorry excuse for a vessel, to be sure, but nonetheless, his ship. Sailors deep-six all the time, the risk they signed on for, perhaps. Bad luck,...

Im going to try telling this story as a male, to...

Conspiracy of DreamsChapter 27 The Flying Club Raid

The small flying robot circled the Gulf Snow Birds Flying Club at an altitude of 1000 meters, virtually invisible to the naked eye. No sound reached the ground from that altitude as the robot looked through several electronic eyes. The on-board radar was able to peer through some abandoned buildings but unable to see through the roofs of others--that was a significant bit of data for an intelligence analyst, though most people wouldn't understand the importance of that information. Also...

Lifes Strange Turns Part 3

Introduction: Best read the stories in sequence! Lifes Strange Turns, Part 3 Monday and Tuesday came and went, with nothing exciting happening, except that Sandy called to say that she had gotten a nice offer on the house from a couple about 30. Her kids were back from their Dads, so she couldnt come over, but wanted to. Id gone to the gym after work Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, and chatted with a pretty woman in the my age bracket that was interesting and had no rings or other evidence of...

Flying Inside the Envelope

Molly stood for a moment outside the flight office and sucked in a big lungful of air before she stepped onto the wooden deck. It was a cool, fall day. Much like biting into a juicy apple, the air had crispness as it tickled the hair on her arms. She savored the freshness of the air, which mixed with the common smells of the airport. Molly had grown to love the bouquet of avgas and engine exhaust. It had almost become a perfume since the flying bug took hold of her. To non-flyers it was just...

The Flying Instructor Ch 02

This is the second part of my story and as such, contains no flying or instructing. To understand this part, please read part one. Alan, as it had turned out, was not only the owner of the flying school but President of the corporation that owned the company I worked for. He told me over lunch one Sunday and swore me to secrecy as he didn’t want to be seen to be giving me any favours. After we had eaten and while Sandy was in the kitchen with Charlie he pulled me aside and suggested we keep...

Toute blanche, toute...

Price of Power 5The Flying Fox

The Price of Power 5 - The Flying Fox Near the middle part of the 21st century, several cosmic events occurred at the same time-a massive solar flare, an extra solar comet with a tail of unknown radiation passed near earth, and an experimental power source being developed in the pacific area went online. The results were unexplainable-almost seven million people (out of a population of seven billion) developed some sort of superhuman ability. Some of these were physical, others...

Flying the Friendly Skies0

The flight that I had booked for my 1st trip to Los Angeles had 8 people on board and a full compliment of pilots and stewardesses. It was actually pretty cool. There were 10 stewardesses on this flight. 3 African American, 4 Asians and 3 Caucasian Stewardesses. I was particularly watching the Asian stewardesses because of the reason for my flight. I had met this girl on line and she lived in La. Several months ago, we started our online dating, but we both agreed that if we met someone else...

Flying with an Angel

I was watching the world go by, 41,000 feet below me, when I heard and felt a loud mechanical thump followed by teeth-shaking vibrations coursing through the plane. I've been flying for over forty years and never felt or heard anything like it before. A horrible metal on metal shriek was coming from the engine right outside my window. My first thought was, 'If those turbine blades come off that thing, they'll rip through the aluminum side of this jet and turn me into hamburger.' I...

Aria di cambiamenti Parte 3 Rachel

Note from the author: The story is in Italian as I realized it is too hard for me to keep writing in English, but I will probably translate it later on.

Brave New World Chapter 7 Flying Sparks

Peter, Brandon, Colin and Monica were already in the pool by the time I arrived, but I didn't get in the water. I couldn't get in the water. Of course, that didn't stop Peter from trying to splash me. Lucky me, I can take a little water without juicing everything. I sat down on the pool chair and just started to read. That was when Peter decided to splash some more water at me. Ugh! I lowered my book and took off my sunglasses. "Hey, c'mon! You, quit it!" "Why don't you get in the...

Fear of Flying

If I had to pinpoint one thing in my life that struck true, undiluted fear into me, it was flying. The whole ordeal terrified me. I would literally rather cross the country on a train for three days than be stuck in a flying metal tube for five hours, but since no one in my family seemed to care for my opinion, the plane is where I ended up on an August evening. A very large, selfish part of me wished I'd never even agreed to this trip. It wasn't like spending my last month of summer at my...

The War of the CrystalsChapter 15 Flying

It was mid-morning when Jack rolled out of bed. The three concubines had worked Jack over for hours the night before, and it had been a real group party. While one of them had been enjoying his cock, the other two were working her over also, usually with the sex toys they had bought. Jack had asked Lisa what Booker & Blakely would do for an ad campaign for the Energizer Bunny if they really wanted people to know what their batteries were being used for. The only answer he got was an...

Flying High

The overhead bins on the plane were already getting full, including the one over her row. Errgghhh…..so fuckin’ frustrating. She opened a bin across from her row and there was space for her suitcase. That’s when she noticed him. He was sitting in the aisle across from her row. He looked up at her as she was re-organizing the overhead to make room to store her roller-board. Their eyes briefly met and she smiled, feeling a flutter in her stomach. He quickly stood up and grabbed her suitcase. She...
