Nicole had been plagued by these kinds of nightmares ever since she could remember. Their livelihood always being tied inextricably to their drug-addict of a mother’s ability to stay sober. Brian confessed that one time, back when Nicole was only 8 or 9, he had come home to find his mother’s drug dealing boyfriend trying to break down Nicole’s bedroom door.
Being only a few years older himself, Brian ran outside and helped Nicole open her bedroom window to escape. He never learned of anything else happening, and he didn’t know that the same drug-dealing asshole had actually touched Nicole once, in a very intimate way when she was getting out of the shower.
Nicole shivered violently. She did not like to think about it.
Samantha and Alex had an idea of what was going on - being that they had been friends with Nicole and Brian for years and Alex had previously discussed this issue with Brian, so while it was a surprise, they quickly adapted to help Nicole to calm down and feel reassured.
After their “menage a trois” encounter a few hours ago, they had all three drifted to a deep, comfortable sleep in different portions of the bed. Unsure of how to react to such a bold statement, it was a few moments before Nicole realized that Sam was waiting for some kind of acknowledgement from Nicole before continuing into the bathroom. Sam reached the bathroom and opened the door, calling inside to Alex “Hey Brother mine, are you almost done?”

Alex stopped and thought about what he said, “Hey, don’t sass me woman!” he then directed towards Samantha in a playful way. “But seriously, this place is basically perfect! Two bedrooms, two bathrooms, 5 minutes from campus, utilities included, all for only $400 a month!”
“Yeah,” Sam replied, “if you work at the university. Otherwise it’s $1,800 a month, why do you keep on leaving out that tiny detail?”
“Just humor me for a minute, ok?” Alex turned to the two girls and continued, “what do you hate about this place?” he asked, looking at both girls in turn.
“There’s no yard, you know I like being able to go outside but still have privacy, a backyard is the perfect thing. That’s like the one thing I didn’t want to compromise on, I’m gonna miss our backyard.” Sam said

Irritated, Alex said “ok fine” and just walked out.
The girls stood there, having expected more of a conversation or at least a bit of an argument, but he just left. Hurriedly the girls scampered out after him, not knowing what was happening or if he really was upset with them.
He was not upset, Alex simply had a plan and thought it would be a bit of good fun to keep the girls guessing for a bit. When they reached the car, all three got in and Alex looked at both girls in turn, giving each a wink and a grin that they had both come to adore.
“Where are we going now?” Nicole asked
“I don’t know, I thought we would just drive around a bit and get to know the place. I’m kinda over the snow at this point” Alex said

“Yeaaahhh...” Alex said, “you classy sonofabitch, anyways where are you? Are you ready to go yet, cuz were done checking out the college and want to get back to the hotel for lunch and maybe some more pool time”
“Hmm one sec, im in a bedroom ... somewhere. I think someone is cooking downstairs, give me a few to find my clothes and see ... well whatever the fuck is going on here. Ill call you back.”
“Were going to the hotel, just let me know when you need another uber” Alex sighed into the speaker
“Roger that” Brian said, followed by a click on the speaker.
Samantha gave an involuntary squeeze on Nicole’s hand.
“I know right?! And I LOVE the waterfall!” Sam exclaimed to Nikki over her shoulder as she entered the room. “I think we can even swim at the base of it, but I’m not sure”. Nicole and Sam each were at their respective bags/dressers going through clothes looking for their bathing suits. “What did Alex say he was doing?” Nikki asked Sam
“He didn’t say, now that I think about it” Sam replied, pausing to consider. “He just said he needed to stop by the front desk”
“Whatever”, Nikki said, turning so her back was to Samantha, then taking off her shoes, socks, and the rest of her clothes to change into the swimsuit. Samantha didn’t turn around away from Nikki because she was more comfortable with the situation at hand, having disrobed in front of many other girls before at school, it wasn’t a big deal.

“Good!” Sam said “Sounds great!” said Nicole
