Jack couldn't believe it, but somehow it was the only thing that made sense. "And what happens if the stone decides I can handle it", Jack asked, but Helen had fallen silent once more. He waited several moments, but she didn't say anything else.
He stood up and returned the stone to it's place beneath his shirt. "Well fuck, now I don't know what to do. If I keep using this power, what will happen? And what if the stone decides I'm not worthy", he wondered aloud.
He had no answers and none were forthcoming from Helen, but Jack knew deep down that he didn't want to give it up. No matter how dangerous this power might be, he wanted it and whatever happened, he would figure out how to handle it.
