The ding of the elevator told Needles Kane that he had reached his
destination. The doors parted to reveal Calypso's office, the dark marble
shining orange in the glow of Kane's fiery scalp. At the far end was a
polished darkwood desk, the chair facing out to look out over the city
through the enormous gothic windows.
Kane scowled behind his grinning clown mask and entered, just as the
chair turned to face him. In his expensive-looking black and red suit,
his burnt face forming the smuggest expression Kane had ever seen, the
organiser of the contest was unmistakable.
"Welcome, Sweet Tooth," Calypso said, standing to greet his guest.
"Congratulations on winning the Twisted Metal competiti-"
Kane cut him off with a slam of his axe, taking a good chunk out of his
desk. Calypso frowned.
"Cut the crap, Calypso," Kane snarled, his hair-like flames almost
seeming to burn even hotter. "I won your game, now I want my prize."
"Indeed." Calypso brushed a few errant splinters from his jacket. "Well,
what do you want? As winner, you're entitled to any wish you choose."
Kane dropped his axe and placed both hands on top of the desk, glowering
at the demon. Even with one eye hidden, he seemed to stare right through
Calypso.
"I want out."
"I'm sorry?"
Kane pointed to his temple. "I'm sick of sharing this body. I can
constantly feel him, clawing and fighting for control. Desperate to stop
my hard work and undo everything I've done. I want to kill him so
badly... but as long as he's me, I can't."
He leaned close, his voice dropping to a low growl.
"I want my own body, so that I can kill Marcus Kane. That clear enough
for you?"
Calypso mulled it over, stroking his chin. Slowly his charred lips pulled
into a wide grin.
"Hm... yes, I believe I can do that." He held his hand out. "Shake on
it?"
Kane looked at at him suspiciously. He'd learned many times over not to
trust him... but the chance to be free of his brother's body was too
valuable to pass up. He nodded and grabbed Calypso's hand.
Flames erupted from the ground. Kane's exposed eye widened as the heat
hit him all at once. He felt his skin bubble and his muscles boil, and he
let out an agonized scream until... he was gone.
Calypso chuckled, dusting his hands off. "I hope you're satisfied, Sweet
Tooth."
* * * * *
Kane groaned as he opened his eyes. What the hell was that about? God,
the fire, the burning, the pain... he ground his teeth together. When he
found Calypso, he was going to gut him for sure!
"Tootie, sweetie!" a voice called out. Kane looked up to see a woman in a
cocktail dress standing in the doorway, putting on a pair of fancy
earrings. She was tall.. really, really tall. Double his height tall. She
smiled warmly. "You'd better get ready, we're leaving in fifteen
minutes!"
He glanced around. He was in some kind of little kid's room... but there
was no kid to be seen. He frowned and pointed at himself. "You talking to
me, lady?" He immediately noticed his voice was much shriller and more
high-pitched... oh no.
"Who else would I be talking to, silly?" she asked, laughing. "Anyway,
get your things together, your father managed to get ahold of tickets to
the Twisted Metal derby, we mustn't miss it!"
She walked off, leaving Kane to seethe. That son of a bitch better not
have done what he thought he did. In the corner of the room he spotted a
princess-themed mirror hanging above a pink desk, and he stormed over.
Staring back at him was the most adorable little girl he'd ever seen.
Long, fiery red hair tied up in pigtails, a cute button nose, innocent
facial features, the only thing that remained of his previous self was
the burning red eyes. He looked down and found he was wearing a frilly
white party dress, complete with lacy loves, polka dot tights, little
Mary-Janes, the works.
He was going to kill Calypso. He was going to murder the smug, burnt-face
asshole. He was going to cut him up, let's see if he was still laughing
when his suit was ruined from his blood! He would find that damn demon,
he'd make him suffer! He'd learn to fear him, HE WOULD-
He noticed a small note attached to the mirror.
I doubt Marcus will see you coming now, don't you think?

Kane looked down and noticed two things on the desk. One, a large knife
with a handle the perfect size for his new hands. The other, his old mask
refitted for his new face.
A grin slowly spread across his girlish features, one that was completely
out of place on his cute face.
Maybe Calypso wasn't so bad after all.
