SRU : Better To Be Born Luc(k)y by Paul1954 It was just another day for Samuel Thomas as he walked through the morning drizzle on his way to the job centre. Walking down there to look for work had become a daily occurrence for him, but there was usually little available for someone with as few qualifications as he had! He had left school with only two of the most basic of qualifications and had not had any luck with securing a permanent job, picking up just the most menial of temporary work. He blamed his parents for his lack of prospects. He felt quite bitter about them and, as he grew older, he knew that they had slowly eroded his confidence by their lack of attention to his needs. They had never encouraged him at school, taking no interest in anything he did, even when asked to by Sam's teachers, and consequently his studies had tailed away until there was no point in him carrying on any longer. Even now, they had no real interest in him! He thought back to his usual morning routine. He'd woken at half past eight and had gone downstairs to get some breakfast only to be ignored by his parents, who were too busy arguing about his father taking the day off sick from work to pay him any attention. He could tell just from looking at him, that his father's malaise was more down to last night's alcohol abuse, rather any real sickness. As he finished the toast that he'd made for himself, he had wondered if things would have still been the same if he'd maybe been born the eldest, rather that the youngest of four boys. He guessed that he'd been a mistake. He must have been, with a ten-year gap between him and his next brother - and he sometimes considered that things might have been better if he'd not been born at all. All things considered he felt that at just seventeen years of age he was firmly established as one of life's losers and all that he now wanted to do was to get a job, earn some money, find his own place and start to make his own way in life. His mood was downcast as he entered the job centre. He searched the jobs available and, picking up a card, he walked over to a spare interview desk to see if he could arrange for an interview. "Good morning Samuel, still trying for something as usual eh!" the assistant said cheerily, as he looked up at his latest client. "Yes Mr. Gooding. You know me - I never give up. I've seen this up on the rack," he said, passing the card over to Mr. Gooding, "and as there's nothing permanent I thought that this could maybe tide me over until something better turns up". "Ah yes" Mr. Gooding said as he read the card, "the new promotions job in the shopping centre. If you want to wait a moment I will give them a call and recommend that they take you on, allowing my recommendation to replace the interview they would give you. I know they need help urgently and they're looking for someone to start straight away". "Would you - that'd be great!" Samuel said gratefully. Mr. Gooding picked up the phone and started dialling. He was quite happy to give Samuel help, whenever he could. He was a popular boy and all the staff of the job centre were aware of his background, and also of his desire to work himself out of it, and it impressed them. So many who passed through these doors only wanted to justify being able to claim benefit, and he was like a breath of fresh air. They all wanted his luck to change for him. Samuel read a further education brochure as he waited. He had been considering going back to studying in his spare time and was looking at the available courses when his concentration was broken by Mr. Gooding's voice. "Good news Samuel - they want you to start right away. It's only minimum wages I'm afraid but if anything better comes along in the meantime, I'll get in touch". Samuel rose and shook Mr. Goodings hand. "Thanks very much. I appreciate it" he replied, and headed off on the fifteen minute walk to the shopping centre. * * * * * * * Samuel was grateful when his coffee break came around. He had spent the remainder of the morning dressed up all in black, and wearing some stupid white cap, while he handed out flyers to passers by. He was advertising the world's most popular Irish stout and looked just like a living version dressed as he was. He felt a complete fool, and it wasn't as if he even liked the stuff! He pulled of his cap and left it inside of the promotion stall, and set off to the nearest coffee stall for a polystyrene cup of his favourite Java. As he walked along he noticed a strange little shop that he could have sworn hadn't been there this morning when he had arrived, but that couldn't be - nothing could have been set-up in that sort of time. Besides, this place looked like it had been there for years. He looked at the name "Spells `R Us" and decided to go inside. He was fascinated as he pushed open the wooden door and heard the tinkle of a bell ringing to announce his presence. He hadn't seen anything like this in years! He looked around at the weirdest assortments of exhibits and smiled for the first in a while, as he thought about how it reminded him of an old-fashioned type of the modern gadget shops. He loved those places. Laser disks, lava lamps, digital whatnots - yes he was a sucker for those things but there was nothing even remotely hi-tech about this place. He was just browsing over by a main counter when he looked up and was momentarily startled. An old man dressed rather eccentrically in something that looked like a cheap bathrobe was standing there looking at him, his face showing no expression. He could have sworn that he hadn't been there a moment ago, and he had not heard him arrive. There was an embarrassing moment's silence where he had expected the old man to greet him, but he didn't say a word, so Samuel decided to break the silence himself. "Eh - hello. I didn't see you there. I was just looking around," he said to the old man. The old man nodded and replied. "I can see that Arthur". Samuel was puzzled for a moment. His name wasn't Arthur - he must have been mistaking him for someone else! The old man saw his puzzled look and finally broke out in a smile. "I'm sorry Samuel, just my little joke" and seeing the puzzled look that remained on Samuel's face, continued. "It was just how you were dressed you see. There's nothing much to you - why you look to be only about five foot seven! Looking the way that you do I thought that the name Arthur Guinness might be more appropriate - you know `alf of Guinness" - you certainly don't seem big enough to be a full pint!" he said, laughing at his joke. Samuel just looked at the old man, and wondered just what on Earth was going on here. He had always been sensitive about his size, often being referred to as the runt of the litter in comparison to his taller brothers, and didn't appreciate this at all. In his confusion Samuel had not even noticed that the old man actually knew his real name as well, and got ready to leave the shop! Seeing that his attempt at humour was falling flat the old man decided to stick to what he knew best, and decided to put his career as a comedian on hold for a while. "No wait - I wouldn't leave just yet. You've still got another twenty- minutes of your break left and I think I can help you find what you are looking for. Come with me - maybe there's something I can interest you in?" he said to Samuel, spreading his arms to indicate the shops wares. "Ho..how did you know how much time I had left?" Samuel asked him. He was starting to get a funny feeling about what was going on here, at the same time that he finally realised that the old man also knew his name! "Details, details - just let me worry about that. I also happen to know that you are not very happy with your life at the moment. Just accept for now, that I could help to change your life, and get you out of the rut that you're in if you will only trust me". Samuel shrugged his shoulders and let the old man lead to the other corner of his shop. He might as well humour him - after all, what did he have to lose? "Tell me Samuel" the old man said as he put an arm around his shoulder, "if you could chose to change anything about yourself at this moment, what would it be"? Samuel was warming to this old man; he seemed harmless enough and decided to open up to him. "Well to be honest sir, I would love to be rich. It isn't really the money that I'd want; it's just that it would just give me the chance to escape from my current life and maybe to start again". He paused for a moment, feeling a little guilty for asking for money. "Maybe that is a little greedy, so I'd better wish for something else instead" he said, and turned this thoughts inwards for a few moments before continuing. The old man felt warm inside. This was a good lad and he was enjoying his company. Surely he deserved better than his current lot in life! Samuel continued. "I know what I'd want now sir. I have never seemed to get the breaks in life that should have come my way. If only I could be lucky then maybe that would change, and things might turn out a little better for me. Yes - that's what I'd chose - I would like to be lucky!" he said firmly, his spirits rising as he thought of what that could do for him. His optimism soon fell again though, as he realised that this was all just a dream. You couldn't just become lucky all of a sudden, could you? "Well maybe it is already starting to happen for you. This could just be your lucky day!" the old man said as he reached out and took a silver charm from a shelf. "This here is a four-leaf clover. It is extremely potent in granting it's owner luck but you would have to be careful if you possessed it - such is it's strength that it could have a major change on your life!" he said, as he handed it to Samuel for him to inspect. Samuel handled it gently, admiring the way that the veins from the clover's leaves were so accurately portrayed. He also noted that it was far heavier than it appeared to be and he knew that it must be worth quite a lot of money. He passed it back to the old man and noticed a slight tingling sensation as it left his hand. "Well this appears to be just what I need I suppose" he said, not really believing it was actually imbued with magic powers, but fascinated all the same. "The problem is, I just don't have the kind of money that would allow me to buy this!" he said with regret. "You might just be surprised. You are my first customer today, and this charm is, co-incidentally, on offer. It is available for only five pounds as a special deal. Samuel's interest rose again. For some reason he felt drawn to the charm and this seemed too good an opportunity to pass by. He took out his wallet and saw that he had exactly seven pounds and ninety-nine pence. He could just afford the charm and still have enough to get something to eat. "Okay - then I'll take it," he said, passing the old man a five-pound note. The old man wrapped it for him, and passing it over to him. "I think you have chosen wisely. Now you'd better get yourself something to eat because you're running out of time. There's a burger meal just down the corridor there for two pounds, ninety-nine and that should see you through to tea-time". Oh, and don't use the charm until you get home tonight" he said. "Just hold the it and hope you'll get lucky. You may be surprised at the results," he said, mysteriously. "I've always thought that it's better to be born lucky than rich myself". Samuel took the package and left the shop after thanking him. He wasn't even surprised how the old man knew exactly how much he had on him - he had this strange belief in him for some reason. He got himself a meal and walked back to his job, passing where the strange shop had been. He was actually rocked back on his heels as he looked at the boarded up vacancy where the shop had been just ten minutes earlier. "B..but that just can't be!" he exclaimed, and felt in his jacket pocket just to check that the charm that he had bought was actually real, and that he hadn't been imagining it! Finding that it was he just shook his head, and went back to his job. He didn't want to think too much about what had happened - he might just start doubting his own sanity! * * * * * * * The rest of the day dragged by for Samuel. He had had to endure enough mockery to last a lifetime for the way that he was dressed, and he was relieved when his shift ended and he took his days pay gratefully. He was thankful that he was paid daily - maybe he just wouldn't bother going back tomorrow - it just wasn't worth it! His relief soon vanished, however, as he remembered that all he had to look forward to was another depressing night at home, being ignored and resented no doubt, in equal measures. As his mood darkened, he remembered the charm he had bought and took it out of his pocket to have another look at it. As he unwrapped the charm and held it in his fingers, he once again felt a slight tingling come from it, but he just passed it off as his imagination. He clutched the charm in his hand all the way home, getting a feeling of comfort from it. As he walked in the door he saw his father fast asleep in the chair, snoring for all he was worth and with an empty four-pack on the floor. He just walked past him to the kitchen in disgust. "Have you got any money on you dear - I've got to get your father some fish and chips tonight - I can't be bothered to cook!" his mother said, standing there with her hair in curlers. Samuel didn't even bother to answer her and he walked straight upstairs to his bedroom, shaking his head in despair. He sat on his bed and looked at the four-leaf clover. "Well come on then - it's about time that you started working for me. I don't think I can take too much more of this" he said, almost pleading as tears started to well up in his eyes. Almost immediately he thought that he could detect heat emanating from the charm, and within seconds he had to drop it on the floor, it was getting so hot. He watched the silver start to change shape until it became a molten puddle before, finally, evaporating. He didn't even notice that it hadn't left a burn mark on his carpet. "Oh great - I've been stung - so much for my change of luck!" was his last thought before everything started fading and he blacked out. * * * * * * * Barbara and Michael Tillbrook looked down at the sleeping girl. She looked so small in her hospital bed, like a little angel with her cute face framed by her soft and golden hair. Michael held his wife's hand softly, stroking her palm with his fingers in a vain attempt to soothe her. "I still find it hard to believe what's happened to us" he said, broken- hearted. "It took us six years before you could conceive, and when you finally had our child it was like a gift from God to us both. We had the most gorgeous, and beautiful little girl who looked just like her mother. We look after her, giving her all of our love and everything that we had, for four-years and then.. and then it's all taken away from us by one drunken driver!" he sobbed, unable to contain his grief any longer. This time his wife tried to console her husband. She held his hand and spoke with a determination that surprised even herself. "No - she has not gone yet- she's only sleeping. I will not give up on her until there's no chance left"! "I know darling, but the doctors said that there's little hope left now. She's been like this for two weeks now, without a change in her condition. How long can we keep her on life support? he said, and pulled back the bedclothes from his daughter's body. As they looked at her it was hard to tell that there was anything wrong. Any bruising had gone during the last two weeks, and she looked almost perfect as she lay there. The only thing that hintged that anything was wrong were the drips that were attached to her arm, that were sustaining her. It was all so unfair. As Michael turned to hug his wife he heard a faint groan come from the bed. They both turned around and saw their daughter's head move slightly. Barbara leapt across to her daughter, as Michael grabbed for the panic button that set off the alarm outside their room. He listened to the sirens and saw the doctors running past, as if in a blur, as he stared wondrously as his daughter opened her eyes. * * * * * * * Samuel groaned. He didn't know what had happened after his charm had gone but he had suddenly awoken to mayhem! Someone was hugging him tightly, and was then pulled away. A siren was ringing faintly in the distance, and there were a whole bunch of people staring at him, and poking things in all sorts of places, some of them which felt very unfamiliar to him! He felt as if he was hallucinating and like he was floating. His body felt so light that he decided just to lay still and let these strange people do whatever was necessary to him for the moment. Maybe that burning charm had set fire to the house or something, and he had been injured. With a bit of luck maybe the whole house had burnt down, he thought. Finally he was given an injection and eventually the furore died down until there were only two people left in the room with him, a man and a woman who both looked so concerned for him. He wondered who they were and started to feel very sleepy as the woman leant across and kissed him. "Oh Lucy, Lucy - we're so pleased that you've come back to us - I can't believe how lucky we are!" was the last thing he heard before sleep claimed him again, and left him wondering who they were talking about. * * * * * * * It was morning when Samuel woke again. He pulled his hands up to his eyes and rubbed them gently, trying to wipe out the sticky stuff that had gathered there during the night. He still felt strange; it hadn't seemed that he had needed to reach so far as he was used to. He opened his eyes cautiously, and saw a pair of chubby white hands, that were smooth and unwrinkled. He sat up slowly and noticed the golden hair that fell in front of his face and started to get nervous. Just what the hell was going on here! As he looked down further he saw that the bed seemed enormous and also that he was wearing a small cotton nightgown. He was panicking now and pulled up the nightgown to see that he was only wearing a small pair of plain pink panties that looked suspiciously smooth where he would have normally expected to have seen a bulge. His small hands pulled down the panties and he saw just what he had expected to see - a hairless pair of lips that he knew would lead to a vagina - his vagina. His fingers felt along the smooth crevice as he sought to confirm the evidence of his eyes. It felt so different down there, and he briefly mourned the loss of his penis as he tried to make sense of what had happened. "I..I'm just a little girl!" she said, as she remembered the lucky charm and how the old man had said it would change his life. Before she even got a chance to marvel at how high, and how girl-like her voice sounded, she heard a movement from across the room. "You certainly are, and a very pretty one at that" came an unexpected reply as she saw the same lady from yesterday walk in and smile at her warmly. She was carrying a travelling bag that she proceeded to unpack, after first kissing her on the forehead. She held up a small yellow dress, that had tiny daisies all over it. She had a small pair of girl's shoes and a pair of white ankle socks. She then took out a small hair band with which she leant over and, after pushing the girls hair back, placed around her head. She stood back for a moment and held up the dress and a pair of panties. "Come on Lucy, I can't wait to get you dressed - the doctor's have told us that there is no reason why we can't take you home again. Your daddy will be here in a minute to collect us and it will make him so happy to see his little girl all dressed and waiting for him". Samuel, now Lucy, lifted up a leg as her mother helped her put on a clean pair of panties. She let her `mother' pull the dress down over her head as if in a daze, not being able to comprehend all that was happening to her, and numbly accepted another hug and a kiss from her mother, as she sobbed again - only this time it was from joy! "Oh Lucy, you are just the luckiest little girl in the world. You are going to grow up safe and sound, and you'll have so much love from us. Now let's just look at you and we'll go and meet daddy" she said, as Barbara led her daughter to a mirror. Lucy looked at the reflection, and saw that she looked just like any other four-year old girl. She looked at her mother's reflection, as she stood next to her, and noticed how strong the resemblance was, and how much like her she was. She was also very pretty and she knew that she would, one-day, turn out just like her in all probability. She thought back to her life as Samuel, and to how miserable she had been. Maybe this had all worked out for the best after all, she thought. After all, how bad could it be growing up to be a beautiful girl! She put her hand out and grabbed her mother's hand. "I love you mummy" she said, and knew that she really did, as her mother hugged her warmly. She mentally thanked the old man as she skipped out of the hospital room to meet her daddy. The End

SRU Friends are Thicker than Wishes

Here's my SRU anniversary story that I mentioned last week. I had hoped to have it ready for the October 8 anniversary, but fell a little short. Either that or I got a little longwinded ... again. This story is a little different from the others as I've written in the SRU universe in that its also a prequel of sorts to one of my non-SRU stories posted last month. It didn't start out that way, but given some of the characters I needed for this, I think it worked out better. You...

It was October 12, 1998 and my friend agreed to go in costume if I got it for him and he said any costume so I planned to do him over good. I still remember the conversation...

SRU High School Reunion

This is written for the third anniversary of the SRU universe. It's a little late, but somethings can't be helped. The first story specifically designated as SRU (although I spelled it all out the first couple of posts) was posted to the TSA-TALK mailing list on October 8, 1996. At first, I wasn't sure if I would have the time to write an anniversary story. There was the crossover series with the Altered Fates universe to consider, although that project now looks dead. And I didn't...

SRU Hose

SRU Hose By WEKM Jon was wandering about the mall while his wife Joanne was getting her hair done. Now Jon knew the mall fairly well and had an excellent sense of direction. He prided himself on it. He also had an uncanny memory for the placement of stores in malls as well. He could probably find his way to any shop in any mall he had ever been to weather he had been in the shop or not. He just seemed to be able to see the malls in his head, a trait that his wife had found either...

SRU The Best Possible World

Summary: Kristin was just your average air-headed blonde, who worshipped the ground her boyfriend David walked on. At least she thought she was, until a visit to SRU forced her to confront the painful truth about herself... Notes: The Spells R Us universe, and the SRU wizard, was originated by Bill Hart. Dannie was introduced by another author, DanielSan59 unless I'm mistaken, but has been further developed by authors such as Bashful, Ellie Dauber, and Bill Hart (to name a...

SRU Stargirls Visit

Authors Notes: The mighty SRU universe belongs to Bill Hart, whom I gladly tip my bonnet to in the hopes I'm not breaking anything here. This story contains a few words not seen on TV as well as an object PC people and people with aversion to sexual items would do well to avoid. This is just a piece of fluff filler before I begin my story universe. Stargirl's reply as she walks out the SRU door I've taken from another SRU story, though I don't remember which one. Also, The...

SRU Oldtimer part 2 Second Chances

Intro: Three years ago Pretzelgirl wrote a story called "oldtimer in the SRU universe. It was probably one of the best SRU stories written except for the ending. My apologies if I don't do justice to her work. SRU Oldtimer part 2: Second Chances By Reality Check 'She gasped in abject horror at gnarled, withered hands still sporting long bright pink nails. Her chin widened, sprouting a cracked, weedy, sun-reddened texture. The candy-striper's petite nose exploded into a ruddy,...

SRU The Engagement Ring

Foreword: This is the first story that I have written that I felt worthy of being read by others. Your comments and criticisms are more than welcome. I would like to thank Marina Kelly for her assistance in improving this story from its dry, clinical origins into is readable state. Her stories have been a valuable guide for me. Thank you - Monica Rose. SRU - The Engagement Ring Linda began to tear-up when the wizard told her, "I'm sorry Linda, but I can't do anything...

SRU A Change for the Better

SRU: A Change for the Better The bell tinkled over the door as two men entered. Outside of their piercing blue eyes, they couldn't have looked more different. "Wait out here, Terrence," said the taller man. "We won't be long." His graying blond hair was cropped short and slicked back, his face was angular and clean-shaven. His outfit, from head to toe, spoke of wealth and power--from the sharp lines of his tailored suit to his bold Gucci silk tie to his Italian leather shoes. A...

SRU The Retrun fo the Love Doll

SRU: The Return of the Love Doll By Ran Dandel The Riding Club of the University was one of its most exclusive organizations. It was like a non-resident fraternity. The members gathered there to meet and socialize, and to build their skills at networking. The exclusivity was guaranteed because only the wealthiest students in good standing in their respective cities' Society could become members. Members who graduated were destined to wield great power in whatever ...

SRU The Good Wifes Guide

SRU: The Good Wifes Guide. by Darkside --------------------------- This contains actual extracts from a Home Economics textbook printed in the early 60s. It did the rounds at work a while ago and it just begged to have a story written around it. This is my one and only sojourn into the 'Spell R Us' universe. So I hope you all like it. As an experiment, I've deliberately left much to the imagination. This is more of a covert TG story than most. At was also an experiment in that I...

Author's Note: This story is a continuation of my previous SRU story entitled "The Love Hate Rule". If you haven't read that, it may help before you read this one, but it is not necessary. SRU The Contract

Spells-R-Us & The Contract by Bad Irving Standard disclaimer, if under 18 do not read this tale. Actually this disclaimer is just a chance to give some credit, where credit is due. The story "The Reviewer from Hell" by Happyguy was the starting idea for the creation of this story. It is with Happyguy's permission that I take his concept and proceed with my own story. The characters in this story are not a carry over from Happyguy's tale, but, the Spells-R-Us (SRU) characters...

SRU Nicely Backfired

SRU: Nicely Backfired: by Donna-Allyson McCleod (my first attempt at short SRU story) It had all started a month earlier when Shirley Davis had moved into Don's neighborhood along with her older sister Valerie and their estranged mother Sherry. Don Wallace was a senior at St. Mary's Boy's High School at the time. Shirley Davis had immediately caught Don's eye on her first day at the school. Shirley was sixteen and had transferred into the adjoining St. Mary's School for Girls as a...

SRU An Error in Application

Warning: This story contains adult material. SRU: An Error in Application by Fringold Sixfingers Lyle Green had heard several rumors about the 'Spells R Us' shop in the mall. Sense he did not believe in magic, he took the stories as tells of fancy. There was one rumor he was not about to ignore. The best place to buy computer hardware was SRU. Lyle could use an upgrade to keep him competitive. Soon he was outside the shop. Not at all what he was expecting. The store looked more...

SRUAF A Wizards Altered Fate

Author's Notes by Bill Hart This was initially intended to be the second posting of the collaborative crossover set in the 'Spells R Us' and 'Altered Fates' universes written by myself and Raven. SRU Well Dressed

SRU: Well Dressed By Bashful Jack Edward Wilson was a relatively happy man. He had a good job and a wonderful wife. They had not been blessed with children yet but that was just a matter of time, he was sure. Jack really enjoyed his job, it was something he liked doing and he was good at it. SRU Pantyhose

SRU: PANTYHOSE BY PAUL G. JUTRAS "Why can't I wear clothes like that." Was the thought that often ran through Chris's mind. Chris was a pleasant twenty-two year old. Anyone who looked at him would think he was a normal boy checking out girls. What he was looking at was the clothes they had on. Clothes he wish he could have on. His mother's side of the family ran a night club and during the early evening he listened to the music and wondered what it would be like to feel silk...

SRU Made for Each Other

SRU: MADE FOR EACH OTHER by Roy Del Frink Leland Welker was strolling through the mall one day when he saw a strange sight. It was an old-fashioned wooden shop called "Spells R Us". He was bored, so he decided to enter on a whim. Leland couldn't believe all the junk in there, and didn't understand what he would do in a place like this. Just then he noticed a short old man behind the counter. He looked at least eighty years old, and he wore an old crimson bathrobe. He asked the...

SRU Half and Half

SRU: HALF AND HALF By Roy Del Frink A disgruntled lady walked up to the counter, holding a paper bag in her arm. "Listen here, buddy," she said to the old man behind the counter, "you sold me a potion that would turn my husband into the next thing I said. I said, 'Change my husband into a Chippendale dancer,' and look what happened!" She placed the bag on the counter, and opened it. The lady pulled out two chipmunks, dressed in tiny top hats, tuxes, and canes. One had a...

SRU: Learning French By Demonn Hi, my name is Todd or should I say was Todd. I am, was 5' 10" and maybe just a bit of a geek. I wasn't ugly mind you but I wasn't all that incredibly strong. But that didn't stop me having friends like everyone else. It was a Saturday and like always, I was going to have some fun at my friend's house. I was a simple 15 year old guy, who enjoyed some R&R, when, my high school, Rivers High, was out. I mean who didn't. When I arrived at...

SRU Lovers Knot First Draft

Some time ago, Raven and I collaborated on an SRU story called Lovers (K)Not, which is unfortunately incomplete at this time. Raven created the story idea, basic plot and the main characters, and then asked me to write a rough draft based on the information that he gave me. After I completed the rough draft, I sent it to him, where he polished it up and added quite a bit more detail as well as his own touches. Raven posted each chapter to Fictionmania after he'd finished his...

SRU Mana Burn

Doing serious stories is quite enjoyable. Despite the fact that I'm still in the process of working on a rather long opus, I felt that a break was in order. Recharging the batteries through a little bit of humor has always been a fun tactic for me, so without further ado, I give you my first, and probably only entry into the Spells R Us universe. This particular story was inspired by a description of the card rack in SRU-Trading Cards, and the wizard's fondness for games as described in...

SRU: Paper Dragon By Kim West I wish to thank Bill Hart for creating the SRU Universe and allowing others to have a chance to play in it. SRU Field Trip

SRU: Field Trip Jack woke up as he always did. Messed up from a night of partying and binge drinking, with of course the occasional mixture of various drugs. Groggy and clumsily, he got up from bed and looked at his calendar. "A visit to the zoo? Oh joy!" Jack said with a sarcastic tone. He had never thought much of animals in general nor was he going to start to now. What with being a troublemaker in class, this would just be another opportunity to do more trouble, he...
