This is Belle. This tale is from Nicole. It is about her brother. I
will let Nicole tell it.
Hello everybody. I am Nicole. I had the night off. I was watching my
brother's children while he filled in for a shift at the Ye Old Irish
Inn. My work partner Bobbie had to work a graveyard shift as well as
her normal posting. My housemate Jo was working a twelve hour shift
with the Salem PD. Helga was out of town for a convention and was due
back in two days.
It was Three AM. and I heard the phone ring. It was Bobbie calling from
Salem General Hospital. She said, "Nicole you must come to Salem
General. My Aunt is on the way to your place. She will watch Nicky and
Helen. Larry needs you. Bring his sleepwear and some street clothes. Jo
and Hedi are with Larry right now. I will explain this problem to when
you get here."
That had me worried. I said, "Okay Bobbie. I just need a few minutes to
put myself together and get some things for Larry."
I packed a small duffle bag with Larry's pajamas, a bathrobe, some
underwear, a sweatshirt, blue jeans, socks, running shoes, and his
Godzilla doll. I took a quick shower and just put on jeans and a
sweatshirt that I borrowed from Larry. The doorbell rang. It was Belle.
She looked beat. She just said, "Help your brother Nicole."
I said, "Thanks Belle for coming on such short notice. It really must
be bad. Now I am worried even more than when Bobbie called me."
Belle said in a tired voice, "It is no problem. Bobbie filled me in
slightly. I will see Larry after he is out of the hospital. Right now,
he needs you and Helga. Hedi has already called Helga. Helga is taking
the Red Eye here. Bill is picking her up. I wanted Bill to pick her up.
He is one of the few people that can keep her in check when she finds
out about Larry."
I said, "Thanks Belle. I can hold Helga myself if I have to."
Belle looked at me in amazement. Then said, "Now how can you do that?"
I told her the truth. I said, "I cheat. I will use her trank darts that
she uses for livestock and large zoo animals."
Belle said, "Just help your brother. He will need your support."
I drove to the hospital. When I got there, Bobbie pulled me to a small
room. Bobbie said in a gentle voice, "As you know, Larry was doing a
shift at the Irish. Larry was dressed as Laurie. Laurie gets better
tips from behind the bar. Larry works better in the kitchen as Larry.
Larry was raped. It was very brutal. Right now he is on suicide watch.
He has tried twice already."
I asked, "How, why, and who?"
Bobbie said in the same gentle voice, "We know who and how. We don't
know why yet. We are still looking into that. We did get all the ones
that did the act. Jo and I got all of them. Jo was there to use the
bathroom and get a salad. I was there because the alarm company did not
get the lock up code. Some of the cops have the code. Both Jo and I
found Larry tied to the pool table and getting raped in his ass by ten

I could get from Larry, there were some pills forced down his throat

were used."
I asked, "Where is Larry? He will need to see that he is not to blame.

Bobbie said, "I will take you to him."
I saw Larry in his hospital room. Officer Donna Pringle was with him. I
saw Larry in restraint gear. I put his Godzilla doll on the bed stand
and in his sight. He seemed to calm down a bit. I said to Donna, "Can
you do me a small favor?"
Donna said, "What is it?"
I said, "Get yourself a cup of coffee on me. Also, please bring me a
large cup full of ice water and straw."
Donna said, "Sure Nicole. I will get the ice water first. Then I will
take a lunch break."
I said, "Thank you Donna. I want to talk to my brother as his sister.
If you must, please sit in."
Donna left and Larry said in fearful voice, "Nicole what is going on?"
I said to Larry in a tone that was meant to relax him, "Easy now Larry.
I am just going to hold your hand. If you want to talk to me, that will
be fine. If you want, to sleep. I will be here for you."
Larry asked, "How...are... my kids?"
I said, "Belle is with them. She told me she will talk with you later
if you want."
Larry said, "I will. She is a good soul. Just get me out of here. I
feel so... violated. I hurt all over and feel sick. I feel so...
ashamed of myself."
I said, "Larry just relax now and sleep if you can. Just sip some this
water. Bobbie or Jo will tell me anything I need to know."
After letting Larry sip some water, I did two things. The first was to
slip his Godzilla doll into one his arms. The next was to pin my badge
on my shirt. I wanted any guard that the hospital had not to interfere
with me. Also to keep the nurses from asking any questions.
One of the nurses came in. She was about to inject Larry with a drug. I
asked, "What are you doing?"
The nurse, who was Thomasina Magner, said, "Just giving the patient his
meds."
I asked, "What are they?"
Thomasina said, "Nothing that you would understand Deputy."
Before I could even respond to that rudeness, I heard Helga speak in a
tone that meant she would not take any lip, "If she can't, I can Nurse!
Now tell me what you are pumping into my Husband!"
Nurse Magner said, "Just some pain killers."
Helga barked out, "From this vial?" Helga held the vial on the tray in
her hand.
Thomasina said, "Yes."
Helga said to me, "Nicole, if this bitch takes one step closer to
Larry, shoot her!"
I asked, "Helga, if that is a pain killer, why?"
Helga now was about to melt. "It ain't a pain killer. It is hormones. I
use the same stuff to help cattle to produce milk and mate."
A hospital guard wanted to take Helga out of the building. I told him,
"No way Jose. You will go on with your rounds."
Just then Donna, Jo, Bobbie, Hedi, and Dr. Twain came in. I wanted
Donna to stay with Larry, but Bobbie said, "Donna, escort this nurse to
her supervisor. Hedi please take Nicole and Helga with you to see the
head of the hospital. I have a court order to keep this nurse away from
Larry. It also allows us to take Larry to the Wellman right now or as
soon as we can arrange transport. After Dr. Twain makes her exam, I
will sit and talk with Larry. I have some understanding of what he is
going through."
I went to see the head of the hospital. I saw that Hedi had Larry's
file with her. Hedi also had her game face on. She put Helga and me in
a small office. She said, "Jo, please fill in Nicole and Helga. Helga
stay here until I return. This my field of work."
Jo asked me, "Nicole do you have your handcuffs on you?"
I said, "No Jo, I only grabbed my gun and badge."
Jo said, "Helga, I want you to remain calm. We found out what Larry was
pumped full of. We also know who gave out the damm stuff. By now, Donna
has that person on the way to jail. Larry was forced fed birth control
pills. We don't know how many. He was also injected with hormones.
Female hormones. Human, Bovine, and Equine. From the vials we found on
the scene, there were enough hormones for an average woman for about
five years or more. Dr. Twain has estimated that it will take Larry
three months or more for his body to adapt. By that time, he will be
able to nurse his son and daughter."
Helga seemed calm, but I could see she was ready to rip the jail apart
and kill the ones who hurt Larry. Larry told me that he thought Helga
was so hot, he needed smelters gloves. Helga's love for Larry was like
a Hydrogen Bomb. She was about to go CaveWoman on the ones who hurt
Larry. I said, "Helga, please relax. Bobbie and Jo have bagged those
bitches. Let Bobbie, Jo, and Hedi do their jobs and keep them stuffed
and cuffed."
Helga said, "You're right Nicole. I can also see that you want waste
them as well."
I said in a very tired voice, "I am Human Helga. But I know, I am more
help to and for Larry here and not in jail. So are you."
Helga said, "Thanks Nicole. Let's help Larry."
Hedi came in. She said, "I just read the riot act to hospital. I told
them they are facing a major lawsuit. I can see by your faces that Jo
filled you in. I am glad that you are mad. Just be there for Larry."
Dr. Twain came in the room. I asked her, "Can Larry recover at home as
well as at the Wellman?"
Dr. Twain said, "Yes, but let him stay for two days at the Wellman for
observation."
We went to Larry. I could see he was fighting the restraints. Helga
said, "Larry just relax and save your strength. We are all here for
you. Let us fight for you. You must stay alive for our children. Show
them the man I fell in love with, can fight back when he must, and will
be there to guide them in life."
Larry said very tearfully, "I am no longer a man."
Helga said, "It is not your outside form that matters. It is what is
inside you that really counts. That is what I fell in love with."
Larry was in tears as Helga hugged him. I did not know how or why, but
I knew Larry would be okay and not try any more suicide attempts.
The next day I found out why Larry was raped. Two of the women worked
the Ye Old Irish Inn and were jealous of Larry for the tips he got as
Laurie. One more because he beat her out in three talent show acts.
Thomasina Magner was the mother of one of the girls and was helping her
daughter get revenge.
Dr. Twain came in and said, "Larry I some good news for you. I can stop
some of the effects of the hormones that were forced into you."
Helga asked, "How can you do that, and what can you restore?"
Dr. Twain took a deep breath and said, "By use of male hormones. It
will be an aggressive treatment. Larry will keep his looks as a man,
but he will be sterile. He can perform sexually, but not be able to
father any more children."
Larry asked, "What side effects can I expect."
Dr. Twain said, "You may feel more aggressive. Your body might get more
muscular. You may even grow an inch or two."
Larry said with fear in his voice, "The last two I would not mind. I
just don't want to be mean again. I hurt too many people when I was
mean. Without the help of my wife, my sister, and their friends, I
would still mean and in jail. I don't want to be that way again. I
rather am a woman than needlessly mean again."
Both Helga and I held Larry. I asked, "Dr. Twain. Can the treatments be
adjusted to control the side effects?"
Dr. Twain said, "Yes they can. I can make sure the dosage will help
Larry and not harm him."
Helga said with a very soft and gentle voice, "See Larry, we can help
you. Just remember the stuff I taught you, and you will be fine. And if
you need more help, I will be there for you."
I don't know why, but Jo, Bobbie, and I said, "So will we."
Helga did say, "Dr. Twain, your are wrong about Larry."
Dr. Twain said, "Why am I?"
Helga said, "I am pregnant. Also I saved some of Larry's sperm."
Larry was in wonderment and said, "How Helga?"
Helga giggled and said, "Remember all the times I milked you Larry? I
saved most of the sperm. I used it to make embryos. You will be a
father any time you want. If you don't take Dr. Twain's treatment, you
can be a Mommy as well. The choice is for you, and you alone."
Larry said, "Thank you Helga. Please let me sleep on it."
Helga said, "Take your time Larry."
Then Bobbie asked, "Larry, I told you of my past. Are you really
willing to become a woman than be needlessly mean to people?"
Larry said, "Yes Bobbie. I rather be a woman and be able to nurture,
than be a man and hurtful."
Bobbie said, "Then keep that in your heart as you go through this. It
will help you to be fine."
I asked, "Bobbie, Larry, what are you talking about?"
Larry said with a small grin, "Nicole, that is something for Bobbie to
tell you. I promised her that I would not tell anyone, even you unless
she allowed me to. What ever else I did, I do keep my word. That was
one of my few good things I had even when I was mean."
I looked at Bobbie and she said, "Sorry Nicole. I will tell you when it
is the right time. Now is not the right time. Besides, it is something
that would shock you. But it is why I understand what Larry is going
through. I will help Larry. My price is for you not ask about my deal
with Larry. Don't ask Larry. Don't ask me. When it is time, Larry or I
will tell you. Maybe together."
I saw the look on Bobbie's face and the tone of her voice that she
meant what she said. I could also see that Larry was in the same mode.
I said, "Deal. Now Larry, when we get you home, I am cooking a holiday
type meal in honor of you."
Larry asked, "Why Nicole?"
I said, "For three reasons. One, you want to live. Two, you want
nurture and not hurt. Three, you have learned it is what on the inside
and not the outside that makes a person. I don't care if you are my
brother or my sister. This new look from you needs to be rewarded and
protected."
After that Larry was sent to the Wellman Clinic. Two days later, I
picked up Larry. All Belle would tell me, is that Larry would be fine
and received a gift from St. Joan. Larry did tell me that he learned
something about Belle and made the same deal with her as he did with
Bobbie. Larry did consent to the treatment program from Dr. Twain.
Wild Bill said to Larry, "Hang in there kid. I need you as a
BrewMiester. The number two is nowhere as good as you. BrewMiester or
BrewMaven, you are the best in that role. You are also very creative
and have come with some new beers and ales."
Larry said, "Thank you. I have some test products that I will send to Q
& A for review. If they approve, I have the recipes on disk and can
send them in. I just need a week to sleep."
Wild Bill said, "Take the time you need. Nobody hurts one my workers or
buddies and walks. They are lucky that Bobbie and Jo got them."
Larry said, "But you can't kill them."
Wild Bill said, "That is right, but I can do a lot worse and keep it
with in the law."
Larry said, "Bobbie did say you have a very unusual past. So does
Nicole's 'Uncle' Monty. He lets Nicole call him that."
Wild Bill chuckled and said, "So is that why Nicole and Scotty keep in
touch. Well that is their headache."
Larry said, "I don't ask, and I don't tell."
I said, "That is good Larry and Bill. We will have that dinner
tomorrow. After that, a Spafest for you." (Scotty and I are just
friends. He wants Georgia. )
Larry was in pure joy and said, "Thank you. Lets go home."
That was easy. Now comes the hard part. Telling mom. I know she would
fire a Tomahawk at the jail if she could get away with it.
Now I must sign off. I also thank Belle for all she did.
