Buildings now line the highway. The car has entered a small town business district. One sign stands out on the boulevard. The Chevrolet pulls into the service station lot passing a couple of gas 1960's style gas pumps. A group of teenage 'hoods' are hanging out beside the building as the car rolls past still billowing smoke from the radiator.) (The scene cuts to a shot looking into the Chevrolet from the driver's side window as the car comes to a stop in front of two service bays with open garage doors.) HELUV: Alright. You two just sit tight. I'll talk to the mechanic. Maybe we can get this fixed in a hurry and be there by seven. HEHAZ: SEVEN! ENORMA: I thought you said you had everything checked BEFORE we left. A period car with the hood open and STUDS the grease covered mechanic working underneath the hood are all partially in frame. Heluv approaches and stops at the mechanic. The rest of the frame takes in the entrance to the diner and large windows overlooking the service station and the approaching Stitts family.) (The Stitts family enters the diner.)
