I walked along and tried to be positive about my new found 'freedom.' At
least I didn't have to be locked in that room. Many girls walked past me
and some stared with looks of pity and others walked by and giggled and
even a few looked at me like a piece of meat. I tried to avert all their
glances but I was scared and embarrassed and the only thing keeping me
walking was the urge to get as far away from that room. I came to what
seemed to be a lounge and there were girls sitting on chairs chatting
and giggling and a few girls playing board games on tables. There were
several couches including one in front of a TV Noone was watching.
Hoping to get my mind off of things I walked over and plopped myself
down on the plush ruby red couch. The remote was on glass octagon shaped
cable and I picked it up hoping I had a choice in programming. I wasn't
sure what I was expecting but was a bit relieved when an episode of
Charmed popped on. At least it was something familiar. Still... I
pressed the channel button and the TV lept to another channel. I surfed
for awhile and became dismayed at several channels about makeup or
jewelry or hair care. There were some about accessorizing and some about
shoes. There were several about cooking and a few on cleaning. Ugh. I
was about to put it down when a tennis match flipped on. It was women's
tennis, but it was still sports so that would have to do. I leaned back
relieved to have finally found something not too overbearing when
another girl sat across from me.
"Hello dear. You must be new." I nodded. "The new bloods are easy to
tell, however you do manage to look cute in that get up." I blushed
deeply and looked away.
"Oh don't fret dear. My name is Annabelle. And you are?"
I tried to tell her my real name, but wondered if that would be a bad
idea. She sensed my hesitation.
"You might want to use your new name. There could be serious
consequences if you dont. Plus you'll see you'll forget your old one in
no time." I hoped not.
"I'm.... Kaylee."
"And now you'll see it's gone" What? That's silly. I just remembered it
like two seconds ago. She noticed my look of confusion.
"Go on. Tell me then." I thought about it. I mean, I was going to, but I
realized I couldn't remember. I kept trying to think back on old
memories but now everyone called me Kaylee.
"Wh-What did you do?" Now I was a little scared.
"It's just part of the programming. Once you accept your new name, the
old one goes away." She pushed something on the table and it slid open.
Inside there was all kinds of nail stuff, and several bottles of nail
polish. She picked up a file and nonchalantly started caring for her
nails.
"They can't really program you, right?" I asked quietly.
"And what? You just forgot your name all of a sudden? Coincidence. Or
maybe your name always was Kaylee?"
"No! I mean. I'm pretty sure." She laughed whole heartily.
"Oh they're gonna have fun with you. Save yourself the trouble and just
give in. Watch the tv."
I shook my head it was all too much to take.
"I said look at the TV!" She said it so forcefully and my head snapped
to the television. The tennis game was still on.
"Watch those girls. Admire they're looks. Watch their skirts swoosh
around them as they play. Watch they're boobs bounce as they run. You'll
begin to feel it." She was right. I started to feel the tug on my shirt.
I started to feel the air on my legs. I wanted to look away but I
couldnt. I felt more and more focus. The world faded away and I saw only
the girls. I didn't even see the game anymore. I saw one with a light
touch of makeup, her lips a pale but shiny pink. The other I saw her
bare legs, fit and petite. The skirts swooshed back and forth, making my
eyes follow. I wanted to be like these girls. I needed to be pretty."
"Having fun Kaylee?" I was snapped from my trance as the lady that
started all this stood in front of me. There was an open bottle of nail
polish and the brush was centimeters away from my nail. I threw it in
shock.
"Oh that's a pity. I thought you were doing well. They'll be a
punishment for that but we'll get to that later. Obviously you know me
as Miss Lila, and this here is going to be your therapist, Miss Himas."
I didn't even notice the second lady. I was so out of it and extremely
frightened that I just nodded at the lady. She was short but for her
heels- she wore a dark blue business skirt and a black button up blouse.
Her makeup was professional, and her demeanor was demeaning.
"Oh come on dear. Don't be slow. We have our first session right away."
Miss Lila ushered me up and Miss Himas beckoned me to follow her. We
went a new way I hadn't had a chance to explore but it seemed to be
sectioned off from everything else. 'Must be for staff' I thought to
myself. I didn't see any more girls along the way. I wasn't sure if that
was good or bad. However, I knew that there would be no easy escape if
things went bad. She stepped into an office and I followed behind her.
She beckoned me to sit and closed and locked the door behind me. A clock
on the wall said 7. I had no sense of time since i had entered this
place. Could be 7 am or 7 pm. I had to hope my internal clock wasnt
messed up so i guessed 7pm. She shuffled around the desk and sat down
across from me. She opened a drawer and pulled out a tape recorder. She
placed it on the desk and pressed a button.
"For the record, state your name."
"Umm... I'm Kaylee... do I have a last name or..."
"One will be appointed to you at a later date."
"okay just Kaylee then" She pressed a button on the recorder again
"That will be all for today."
"What? Just my name on a recorder? I mean if you say so."
"We had a three hour session. That is sufficient enough."
"What? But we just got here." She seemed annoyed. She took a small clock
from on her desk and put it in front of me. The time said 10:05.
"Good? You can go now. Just follow the hallway and you'll get back to
the common area."
I sat stunned. How could it be three hours. We just say down. She asked
my name and that was it. Where did the time go? What happened in those
three hours?
"It's time for you to go!" I was startled and she was very forceful. I
just per out of my seat and quickly walked to the door.
"Oh Kaylee. As for your Punishment you'll find that once you leave this
room, any time someone says your name, You'll get the urge to feel
pretty. We're not sadistic, so it will only trigger every hour. But the
urge will build each time you fight it. And it will be easy at first but
hold out too long and you might snap. We had one like that. Held on to
his manly side. Fought it for nearly a week. Never touched a single
girly thing. Then one day he snapped. Her mind just caved and he went
from a boy into one of the prettiest girls you ever saw. And that's okay
with us if you want It. But maybe if you accept it slowly, you'll
remember who you are. Think hard on your past. Goodbye dear." She looked
down and didn't acknowledge me any further I was scared to step outside
but even more frightened to stay inside. I stepped out the door and felt
the same. But what exactly was that. I tried to think nothing as I came
back through the hall. As I entered the common room, and announcement
came overhead.
'It is time for curfew. Please report to your rooms.' I hurried back the
way I came earlier in the day and into that room. I had tried so hard to
stay away but now I was afraid to go anywhere else. I couldn't remember
my old name. And now as I tried to remember my old life, it was a bit
hazy. There were even memories of me as a little girl. I don't know what
they were doing to me. I longed to end this day and approached my bed.
There was a pink night dress draped upon it. I turned to get something
else instead from the armoire when the monitor slid down from the
ceiling. Miss Lila's face appeared.
"Hello Kaylee. I know it's been an interesting first day. I know things
will get easier, especially if you don't fight us. Either way, you'll be
a good girl. Have a good night! " The monitor slid back into the ceiling
without a word from me. Sleep would hopefully free me from this
nightmare. I slid the nightdress over my head and climbed into bed.
Somewhere, someone was giggling.
