As the meeting was about to end he finally stood up cleared his throat. "You have something to share?" asked Trader. "Yes I demand the return of the underage Seekers to Aviara along with Honey and her infant," he began only to be interrupted by Tangie. Her sudden jump to her feet, her wings fanning out full as she sprang in front of the Avian Seekers now had everyone's attention. "I know that you are not about to continue your asinine demands. They are Seekers, and as such fall under the protections of the Seeker Council, the Ancients, and the First Beings. They like every Avian are free to travel to anywhere they choose so long as they follow the local laws." She towered over him daring him to dispute her. They'd had the warnings flash on their screens before shooting the portal. The life forms seemed to be akin to the Dinosaurs of earth. Those around the tiny vehicle looked like Velociraptors and they were battering and ripping at the vehicle trying to get inside. Both trucks hit their high beams and activated their overhead cab search lights. The sudden flood of light caused the creatures to scatter as the trucks stopped. Butterfly had pulled completely off the roadway to form a semi barrier against the creatures that hadn't gone far. The search lights overhead were now turning slowly, the Raptors staying just outside the circle of brightly lit ground. It was apparent what had happened. The young couple in the vehicle had struck another beast as it was darting across the freeway. What remained of it was mostly bones scattered about. The only two left alive in the vehicle were the mother and a very small child, maybe a few months old if that. Both May and Jason were outside now. May watching his back with a fire extinguisher in hand as Jason used a five foot pry bar to force open a door enough to get inside to them. "Take, take my, Nell.
