Out in the parking lot I looked up to see what everyone else was looking at. Many looked terrified, seeing two dragons. But I suspected it was the one with five heads that they were afraid of. After all, all the ancient legends and Dungeons and Dragons games listed her as the Queen of Evil Dragons. So many myths and legends from my childhood were turning out to be false. Stories created to frighten children and easily swayed ignorant, superstitious people. They made plans to hold the rest of the graduations together at the Kitten Theater. Three days later I stood watching Erika as she fussed over her uniform. I still couldn't believe that she was graduating a year ahead of Rachel. Of course, Rachel already had a child of her own on top of being a partner in Fender Skirts. Finally, I took hold of Erika's shoulders. "Calm down, your uniform is absolutely perfect," I told her, as I felt my tears welling up. "I am so proud of you Captain Pierce." Hurrying out front I took my place next to Donnie, then the slow processional began as they entered at the back of the audience to file up onto the stage before us. Sophie and I were sitting on each side of Donnie, and there were two empty seats next to me. I'd just wondered who hadn't shown up as Theresa started up onto the stage. Gretchen and Trudy were overseeing these Graduations as they had the ones earlier. "Excuse me, are these seats taken?" I turned to see her standing there with Cressida. "Oh by all means," I gestured. Sitting there watching my daughter and those I'd come to know and love like family as they graduated I forgot she was there. But then at the after ceremony, reception, she began asking me for information about Queen Keeli. I gave her the usual, known information, then only the tiniest bit of personal information I had. Turning she pointed to one of the police officers, "And who is that young man with three wives and a pretty Draconian Daughter?" She was pointing out Boric, Alex's father. "Would you like to meet him?" I asked. "Yes, but I am more interested in meeting his daughter and her adopted mothers." What was going on here? Why was she so fascinated by Alex? "Why would it do that?" asked Boric before anyone else had a chance.
