The Manor was a charitable trust linked to one of the university; its
aims were to provide education and research into gender issues.
A number of school parities of key stage 4 and 6th formers had visited
the centre were by the use of bodysuits they experienced the visits as

They arrived at the Manor on the first Friday in September.
The first stop was the two adjoining apartment buildings they would be
occupying for the next year
The three males living in one and the three females in the other
building there was no rules about not visiting each other of course.
The building contained all they would need including clothes but they
unload their personal effect, computers and other study materials that
they would need but no clothes.
Then it was back to the Manor for the evening meal and a get to know you
time.
Included in the session was an introduction from Sam Thomas who was the
Director of the Project.
He explained that on the Saturday morning there would be an opportunity
to use the facilities at the centre whilst each participant had a
detailed medical examination he handed each a tracker which would enable
them to follow their progress and on their monthly visits enable the
staff to make any changes necessary to provide the information needed
for the project.
The tracker would tell the wearer if they made a gender error so that
they could learn.
Once the medicals were over the body suits would be explained in detail.
It was vital they understood their functions in case a suit went wrong
and the centre was available at any time day or night if needed.
So to bed and a lot for the participants to think about the year was
going to be how they made it and they need to enjoy the experience.
Saturday was very matter of fact and covered their medical histories
that had been obtained from their GP's.
After the medicals the individual tutors arrived and were able to work
the gender research into their studying programmes.
The year was going to be very different and the students would be
different people at its end.
Saturday evening was free time whilst the staff evaluated he information
collected during the day.
After breakfast on Sunday the body suits were explained and the
participants told that any warning on their tracker concerning the body
suit needed reporting immediately.
Edward asked if there was anything that the suit could not do and Sam
said that pregnancy was not included and there were no plans to do so.
After Sunday lunch it was time for genderation.
The six of them went to change into a Manor tracksuit placing their
clothes in a laundry basked. They would be cleaned and stored for the
year.
Two rooms were in use the males in room A and the females in Room B.
As they entered they were injected to put them to sleep whilst the
tracksuits were fitted hat took about ten minutes.
After they were fitted there was five minutes before they were woken.
The males no longer had a penis or testicles these had been replaced

Once they were all ready they went into the changing room the breast
were measured and a set of bras allocated to Helen, Jill and Karen.
Their feet were measured and they were given shoes to fit. A set of
footwear would be sent across to their apartment later in the right
sizes.
Whilst they went to have their hair styled George Ian and Len dressed in
underpants t shirts socks and trousers before their feet were also
measured.
Then it was off to have their hairs done,
By now it was time for the evening meal but first there was a visit o
use their new equipment in the toilets. The females felt strange sitting
to pee but the men enjoyed standing for the first time at urinals.
