The time is 1894
The place the cemetery on Word Worth Hill.
The occasion, the burying of Mr. David Holmes, due to consumption, father
of five children, Christine aged ten years, Agatha seven years, Winnie
five years, Gracie four years, and Robert three years, and the faithful
husband of Mrs Julie Antwon-Holmes.
The family lived in an eight-bedroom country house in Hampshire, with maid
and butler, as was her position in life required. That was until the will
of the late Mr. David Holmes was read, you see Mr Holmes had a secret or
two, he was a gambler and a devout fornicator, which means, 'Sexual
intercourse between a man and a woman who are not married to each other,'
or otherwise known as a 'Tramp.'
This came as a big surprise to everyone especially Mrs Julie Antwon-
Holmes, who never had the slightest idea of what her husband had been up
to. What came as an even bigger surprise, was that Mr Holmes had gambled
and slept away nearly all the family's fortune. As you can imagine the
rage of poor Mrs Julie Antwon-Holmes.
This meant not only had she to sell her lovely home of which she was proud
of, and having to give notice to the butler and maid, which she found so
humiliating, but she had to move into a much smaller house, without butler
or maid.
Mr Holmes had just enough money left in his estate that wife and children
would not be poor, but not able to live to the standard of which Mrs Julie
Antwon-Holmes was used to, this brought her to herself much shame and
hatred to her husband, in fact as far as she was concerned, men in general
were a bunch of liars, cheats, and more. How she started despising all the
male race, all and every one of them no exceptions.
Which would have been fine if she had just girls, but there came the
problem, its name was Robert aged three years. Now poor Robert at three
years old, had no idea what had happened, except that his father had gone
away, and was not coming back, and that they, the family were moving to a
new house.
After a few months had elapsed and the elder girls had got over their
grief, of which Mrs Julie Antwon-Holmes who now referred to herself as
widow Mrs Julie Antwon had passed. She had thought long and hard about
Robert, as she no longer wanted any man in the house, and Robert reminded
her, every time she looked at him of the 'Tramp' of a husband who she was
glad had died, she even thought about fostering out, for ever. But then
widow Mrs Julie Antwon had a very good idea, she would have her revenge on
her husband through his son.
Widow Mrs Julie Antwon, had started on the spiral of a down ward slope,
her rage was eating her up alive, after all that she had done for him,
bore his children, lost three more as well.
She had already told the girls all about their father, painting him and
all men to be the devil incarnate, this indoctrination went on and on,
until all the girls only believed what their mother said.
Hence, we come to the problem, Robert, who by now was hardly spoken to or
played with because he was a boy who would grow up to be just like his
father, as they had been told.
The widow Mrs Julie Antwon new that of all things her husband love was his
son Robert, he would always say. "That's my bloodline taken care of, the
family name will go on now." In her hatred of her husband, she worked out
in her own mind what she was going to do, it was so simple, in her
slipping mind.
Robert was going to have never been born, instead she would have another
daughter, Elizabeth, Robert was to young to know anything, so she was
going to bring him, sorry her up as a girl, she had it all planned out, to
her that would be the final revenge on her husband and all the, men like
him.
She took the girls, Christine and Agatha to one side, Gracie was to young
so she would just follow what her mother said. And told them that she
didn't want Robert growing up like his father, to be so horrible to his
future wife, so what she was going to do was bring him up as a a girl, in
other words they would have a baby sister instead of brother, that way in
her twisted mind she would always be surrounded by at least one of her
daughters.
From that moment on Robert or now should I say Elizabeth, was dressed in
nothing but girls' clothes and treated just like her other sisters, she
grew his hair very long, always dressed him in the frilliest of dresses,
just as she did her other daughters.
Elizabeth was about seven, when she realised that she was slightly
different to her other sisters, so she went as normal to her mother, to
ask why she was different down below. Her mother had been expecting this
and had the answer all ready, she sat Elizabeth on her knee and explained
that when she was very small she had an accident, and it had left her with
a deformity, which she could see, but she was not to worry because mummy
had it all in hand, and she would be like her sisters in a very short
while. Elizabeth went away quite happy with this explanation.
This continued for a few years, Elizabeth new no different, as far as she
was concerned she was a girl. She dressed as a girl, played as a girl, and
was taught along with her other sisters all the things a girl should no.
No one ever mentioned about her previous life, as their mother had told
them.
Elizabeth was nine now and a very pretty looking girl, she was well
mannered, spoke well, was learning to dance and was learning about lady's
etiquette.
Her mother had decided it was time for her to be corseted as were the
elder girls, to give her body more shape and to get used to being corseted
every day for the rest of her life, her mother was so happy when she
bought her first corset home for her growing little girl.
She was smiling or was it smirking as she placed the corset on her
daughter, slowly taking her time to lace it up tighter and tighter
watching her daughter's waist get smaller and smaller. When she had
finished Elizabeth said that she could not hardly breath, her mother
laughed saying, "You will soon get used to it my dear, and on special
occasions we will have to pull it even tighter to give you the type of
waist men like."
Her mother was becoming more and more obsessed with Elizabeth the girl.
Soon Christine the oldest was of marrying age, she was now nineteen years
old, and was proposed to a gentleman named Bertrand. Her mother was not
happy at all, but she put on her best smile and congratulated them, all
the sisters were bridesmaids, this was the first time Elizabeth had been
properly corseted, for this there was a hang bar in the bedroom with two
loops on it at each end, Elizabeth had to put her wrist into the loops as
her mother hoisted her up so she was just standing on her tip toes, making
her body more taught, so the laces could be pulled more together, her
mother said that this was the way you could pull in the corset at least
another inch or two. By the end Elizabeth's waist had shrunk by two inches
and it had pushed her extra fat up to her breast giving her some small but
obvious breasts. This was done to the other girls as well, the mother was
overjoyed at seeing all her daughters looking so pretty as bridesmaids,
their tight bodices showing off there developing breasts, their now tiny
waists extenuated by their hooped skits and just showing a trace of
stockings under their white flowered shoes, and the small bouquet of
flowers they all carried was the perfect finish. As their mother was told
by many people, on just how lucky she was to have so many pretty
daughters. Her mother smiled? and thanked them all.
It was a week later when she decided to carry out the second part of her
plan for Elizabeth, she had again thought long and hard on this matter and
had read many books, her actions on the outside to other people were as a
loving mother looking after her daughters, on the inside her mind had gone
far beyond the slippery slope, now to one of obsession on turning
Elizabeth, into a proper girl.
She went to London and met with a reputable surgeon, who had been bared
for his, shall we say, unconventional surgery experiments. She asked him
about first castrating Elizabeth, explaining that she was actually a girl
but had some growths of a boy, but the mind and characteristics of a
female, so, she wanted to have them removed and would never have to show
any signs of becoming man-like thing, she just wanted to be a normal girl,
and then if possible for him to perform surgery she had read about to
create a vagina, to make her a full looking woman. After a good some of
money had changed hands, all was put into place.
It was two months later that Elizabeth's mother called her into the
sitting room, she told her to sit down as she had something very special
and important to tell her. She began by retelling her about the
deformities she had since that accident as a baby, but then smiling one of
her big honest smiles!! she told her that she had found a surgeon who
would be able to put everything right with her, it would cost a lot of
money, but she, her daughter was worth it because she loved her so much.
As she carried on her mother explained that she would be going to London
to have an operation which would start the healing process, and she was
not to worry as her mother would be there waiting for her.
Elizabeth was so overjoyed she started crying, telling her mother how much
she loved her, and to thank her for everything.
As the days neared her mother became more excited than ever on what was
going to happen, she would laugh at night saying, "Where's your heir now
David, I wish you could see her, she's so pretty, and as from tomorrow she
will be my daughter, in every way, you never no, she might even find a MAN
and get married, she won't be impregnating like you did, she will be
impregnated, so your bloodline will now just fade away." Then she would
laugh some more.
The following morning Elizabeth and her mother packed their suitcases for
the trip to London, Elizabeth was excited she would just be a normal girl
now, with nothing to be ashamed of, her mother was even more excited, this
was her final blow to her ex-husband David.
They arrived in London that evening, and had an appointment to see the
surgeon the following day. After a good night's sleep, they dressed and
had their breakfast, then continued by carriage to the surgeon's house,
they were met by his maid and shown into the waiting room, a few minutes
later the surgeon came out to greet them, he said good morning to the
mother and looking at Elizabeth said, "What a charming daughter you have
here Mrs Julie Antwon." Elizabeth blushed. "Right will you please follow
me ladies and I will see what I can do for you Elizabeth, may I call you
Elizabeth." She replied, "Of course you can Doctor, is that all right
mummy." Her mother smiled and said, "Of course it is my dear." They went
into the Doctors private surgery, where he asked Elizabeth to undress and
to put the gown on which was hanging up behind the screens. Elizabeth
said, "Mummy you will still be here won't you after I'm undressed, I'm
quite shy of showing anyone my deformities." Don't you worry my dear the
Doctor has seen a lot worse, and yes I will be here all the time." "Thank
you, mother, you're so wonderful to me."
Elizabeth undressed and put on the gown and shyly came out from behind the
screens.
The Doctor looked at her with some astonishment, she was beautiful, not
only in her figure, but in her pure trusting mind, he called the mother to
one side and asked her again, if this is truly what her and Elizabeth
wanted, of course he didn't know what had gone on before regarding the
mother, so he thought it was consensual between them both. The mother
looked are Elizabeth and asked her outright, "Elizabeth, the Doctor wants
to know if you are happy to have all things done to you."
"Of course," Elizabeth replied. "Yes Doctor I just want to be normal like
my sisters."
"I had to make sure, you understand." Then she laid down on the surgical
table and the Doctor started to examine her, Elizabeth as you can imagine
was so nervous that she asked her loving mother to hold her hand.
The examination took over three hours to complete, afterwards, the Doctor
had Elizabeth get dressed, and told them when they had finished to come
through to the other room, where he would be waiting.
As the three of them sat there the Doctor explained that it would be a
very difficult operation, and the recovery period would be as much as
three months, if everything went well. Then he said the bad news to
Elizabeth, it means I'm afraid that even after all of this, you will not
be able to have children. Elizabeth started to cry, but her mother
comforted her saying that not every girl is blessed with children, and she
could always adopt a baby, if her husband knew the situation.
Elizabeth looked at her dearest mother and said, "Mummy you are so good to
me, I don't know what a girl would do without you."
The operation was planned for following week, the Doctor said it would be
much Be much safer if Elizabeth stayed there at his hospital residence
until she was fully better. Both mother and daughter agreed. So, Elizabeth
moved into the doctor's house, he had a maid so nothing could be
insinuated by anyone.
As the week went by the Doctor started to spend a lot of time with
Elizabeth, she was now fourteen nearly fifteen and he was twenty-four, in
those days it was expected that a woman should always marry an older man,
for her security and his experience.
The day came for the operation, and she was wheeled down to the private
operating theatre, her mother staid upstairs in the dining room.
The operation took more than five hours to complete, but after it was done
the Doctor went up to Elizabeth mother and with a smile on his face
confirmed that Elizabeth was now a complete woman, in every way, he told
her that he had taken some fat from her buttock area and given her some
small but delicate breasts as she would never grow them on her own.
The mother at that point lost everything, she started ranting and raving
about David's son who was now her daughter, so his bloodline was now dead,
she started foaming at the mouth, and becoming more and more hysterical,
to the point of madness, the Doctor did not know what to do, so he and the
maid forced her to lie down on the couch and gave her a very strong
sedative, in fact it knocked her completely out.
It was two hours later that the mother regained consciousness, she was in
the throes of madness, telling the Doctor all she had done and why, she
was screaming it out to him in between bouts of hysterical laughter. He
had to restrain her because she was getting more and more violent.
The Doctor was horrified not only at what she said, but at what he had
done to help this mad woman, he had been taken in totally, he then
realised that even Elizabeth did not know the truth as she had been
brought up as a girl right from the beginning.
He felt an enormous responsibility for everything that had happened, even
when he had asked Elizabeth was she sure, she of course would answer yes,
anything to get rid of that deformity as her mother called it.
He sat and cried for Elizabeth and what he had done to her/him, but she
was such a beautiful girl feminine in every way, he thought long and hard
about what to do, the mother was no problem, she was insane and he would
get her set to an asylum, where nobody would believe an insane person
anyway.
As for Elizabeth, he would look after her for ever, he could do no more
than look after all her needs, and she would never know of her past, she
would just be Elizabeth, if she kept liking him, well you never know?
The mother's other siblings would hear of their mother's death, smallpox
would be the cause, this would be told to Elizabeth later on, there would
be no funeral as people were cremated to help stop the disease spreading.
Epilogue:
Elizabeth recovered well after four months of recuperation cared for by
Doctor James, in that time they became very close especially after he told
her of her mother's death from smallpox, they began seeing more and more
of each other until that day he proposed to her, he said that he knew she
could not have children but they could sort that out later. They both fell
in love as man and woman, Elizabeth would never know her past only the
future off their happiness
They adopted a baby girl and called her Julie, in honour of her, 'mother.'
