do have a cap for this particular model. Good, good I should have it
within 30 minutes or less."
He said, "Mam they said that they should have the distributor cap here
in 30 minutes or less and do you want to wait or would like a loaner
car?"
She said, "I can wait if you don't mind."
He said, "No problem to me."
He went on rebuilding an engine of another customer's car and he was
putting the rings on some pistons when the parts pickup pulled up
front.
The young man came in and Elliot took the box and he pulled out the
distributor cap and compared the caps and was satisfied.
The young man said, "That will be $80 sir."
Elliot said, "Those little caps sure cost a lot."
He went into the office and wrote out a check for $80 and tore it out
and gave it to him and received the check.
He went out to the waiting room and said, "I have your distributor cap
and oh here is the receipt from the parts store."

He said, "Yes mam pricey things aren't they."
He came out looked at the firing order and within 15 minutes he had
the distributor cap replaced and came into the waiting room.
He said, "Your car is done and that will be $95 I usually charge about
$70 an hour but I only worked on it for 15 minutes so the labor cost
is only about $15."
She said, "Usually labor is more than the parts.'
He said, "You are lucky my labor cost is less."
She wrote out a check for $95 and said, "I am very pleased with your
service."
He said, "If you live around here I wouldn't mind servicing your car
regularly."
She said, "I just might do that. How about I make you dinner unless
you are married."
Elliot said, "Normally I would turn you down because you are a
customer and all but sure I would love to make an exception."
She said, "I am delighted. How about 7 tonight?"
He said, "Sure."
She left and after she drove off he realized he didn't get her address
but then he looked on the back of the check and there it was and he
chuckled.
He wrote the address on a piece of paper and ripped it out and went
back to work on the engine.
He got most of the motor put back together and looked at his watch and
saw it was 5: 30.
His boss said, "Elliot it is time to knock off for the evening."
He took off his coveralls and went to the time clock and clocked out.
His boss said, "You did good today and I wouldn't have charged that
woman any more than you charged her for 15 minutes of work.'"
He walked out to his 1970 Ford F250 and climbed in and started it up
and backed out.

She said, "I work at registration at the doctor's office."

They finished up eating and Elliot helped Emma after strongly
insisting to help her clean up.
