It seems that the good pastor was served with a restraining order right after the Sunday worship services, while he was greeting his congregation on their way out the door. Maybe he was sufficiently embarrassed by that and will remember I told him I’d have him arrested in the middle of worship services if he violated the order.”
“You play hardball,” Mom chuckled.
Then, Becky added one other zinger. “While I was at my attorney’s office yesterday, I had him set up anonymous donations to Planned Parenthood to be made in the names of Pastor Wilkins and the Garretts. “It was no trouble at all to have her here,” Dad said, “and I’m going to suggest she stay the next few days as well just in case that preacher gets any ideas.”
“Thank you, Billy,” Becky said, “you and Lily are true friends.”
“That reminds me,” Mom said. “Billy’s going to be out of town tomorrow and part of Tuesday. He should be back around mid-day on Tuesday, unless something comes up. I can cover if it does. I’ve already arranged to take the day off tomorrow, so I’ll pick John and Katie up from school.”
