So where was Vincent’s honeymoon?

Would you believe that they went home?

On one of their shopping expeditions a week before the wedding. Ulani found a small flock of eight Uno’s with fleece that shone like silver. The man selling them said that while their fleece was pretty, it was almost impossible to get it to form a thread.

Plus, he didn’t have a boar to service them as the boar he’d purchased died on the trip here, and none of the ewes was pregnant. He’d tried two other boars that were good sires, but he’d had no kids from them in twelve months. He was cutting his losses.

Victor said he wanted them. So, Ulani and Vincent purchased the Unos for Victor. He also wanted two bitches he had found, to use as breeders for new Gardios for his flock. Ulani approved of both of the females saying they would be good additions to their breeding program. She had even decided to take the two male pups to train and sell.

Everyone at the manor was amused to find eight, silver Uno’s grazing on the grass and four, half-grown Guardios. Victor spent time with the Unos every day, and one of his Guardios was by his side within moments of him stepping out the back door. When he wasn’t outside, they were with their flock.

So why didn’t they go on a honeymoon? Victor was happy! Nope, not quite so.

Two days before the wedding, Victor said they had to go home. He wanted to go now, but they convinced him that they had to stay for the wedding. Victor had sighed, rolled his eyes and agreed. Vincent later went and got his son and took him outside to watch the Unos.

“Okay, Victor why do we need to go home? I thought you were enjoying being with the cousins?”

To Vincent’s surprise, Victor wanted up. Vincent picked his son up, and Victor snuggled into his father’s chest as he wrapped his legs around his waist and his arms around his neck. The Guardios pressed against Vincent’s sides and whined. Vincent, concerned, sat on the side of the fountain and spun Victor around, so he was straddling his lap. The dogs put their heads on Victors’ little knees.

“Daddy, Aunty Bess sick. We need go get,” Victor said looking up into his father’s eyes that were mirrors of his own.

“Damn! Can I send Caleb and Stan to find her?” he asked his son with worry.

Victor closed his eyes. His little hands tightened on his father’s arms, and he put his head on Vincent’s chest for about a minute. He then sat back and gave his father a brilliant smile. “Need Caleb.”

“Great,” Vincent answered. He happily swung Victor back onto his hip and went to find Caleb. Caleb wasn’t hard to find because he was sitting in front of a fire in the rec-room reading one of Vincent’s old law books.

Victor looked at the book quizzically and then reached out and touched it. He then gave his father another of his brilliant smiles. “Yes, Caleb find Bess. Caleb and Bess go school. All good.”

“How is he to find our sister, Bess?” Vincent asked.

“Can you point out where she is on a map, Victor?” Caleb inquired. He got up and moved over to the large map of their continent on the wall. “We are here, and this is Arron Hills, and this is where Vincent’s manor house is.”

Caleb didn’t think it strange to be talking to a three-year-old as he was. He, even more so than most of the rest of the household had long since realised that Victor was not the average toddler. Victor had after all healed his side from the gunshot wound. He had felt a stronger connection to both Victor and Vincent since.

Victor pointed to a different manor house. “Damn, Eddie said that Bess left there two months ago,” Vincent said quite peeved. Vincent looked at Victor, “Does Caleb need any medicines for Bess?”

Victor scrunched up his nose and seemed to be thinking hard, so the boys waited while he did his thing, whatever it was. They all looked up as Willow came in. She was carrying two small bags that she and Druid Williams had designed as First-Aid Kits for in the home and for travel. They were selling very well as a lot of travellers found they were handy to have in their carriages or saddle-bags.

Ulani also came in with a small package. “Darling, we need to order more of these tablets to take with us for the estate. Druid Williams said they are most effective for bad infections.”

Ulani was surprised when Willow took them off her and put them into one of the Kits. “Do you need anything else?” she asked the boys in general.

They all looked as Victor seemed to relax and the intensity that they realised had been around him dropped. Caleb raised an eyebrow, “I assume by his reaction I have what I need. All I’ve got to do is get Stan moving and go get my sister?”

Victor grinned at his uncle.

“And then you are going to school,” Vincent said.

Caleb groaned, and the others chuckled as he left to complete his assignment.

“Do we still need to go home after the wedding son?” Vincent asked Victor.

“Yes Daddy, things to do,” Victor replied.

Victor wasn’t going to get any argument from Vincent or Ulani, and they too felt they were better off going home. Ulani chuckled and said they’d had their honeymoon before they got married, so they were not missing out on anything. Vincent smiled and told his bride to be that, his life would always be a honeymoon as long a she was beside him.

That did earn him a big kiss sloppy kiss.

Duke Zintan was in a quandary.

He looked at the beautiful young woman seated before him. He could well see why his son had fallen for her charms. He had a suspicion that there was more to the story of Ronald falling into the river. But then, knowing his son, unless he was on a horse, he had two left feet, and he tripped over them constantly.

However, the man Albert Arrondale, who had been posing as his son, had caused him several problems. Influential people from Iceland to D’Jang had all believed that Albert was his son. When he’d received word of his son being in the hospice, he had sent a message back to his Ambassador in Iceland to do what was required to send him home.

The Ambassador had messaged Zintan that Carol was like a lightning rod to men. Many men found her irresistible, and if she stayed free without Albert’s protection for much longer, she would be raped for sure. Zintan did have to admire the woman in front of him. She had handled those court cases very well from all reports.

The Ambassador had contacted his friend Jamil to help him, and Jamil soon realised that the Hotel Manager was trying to set Carol up so she would have to come up with an alternate way to pay her bills. Jamil had since told Zintan it was the only way that they could find to protect her until they could get Ronald out of the hospital.

Jamil had hoped that by having female guards at the prison, she would be safe until he could get the couple onto his ship. He did mention that he had a tough time controlling himself and his own men even with her sneezing on them all the time and that it got worse on the ship.

Jamil had started to suspect the man calling himself Ronald, may not be the Duke’s son when he killed Stinky. That man knew how to kill, and he was quite sure that Ronald wouldn’t have known how to break a man’s neck, as he’d not had any military training according to the Ambassador.

However, he did like the man and couldn’t fault a man from protecting his pregnant wife. The fact that he looked so much like Duke Zintan and even acted like him had kept him quiet, as he was interested to see what the couple would do once they got to Sunland.

Neither he nor Zintan expected that Zintan’s moronic nephew, Brenan, would see Albert entering the hotel and then follow the couple to their room. Zintan was waiting downstairs in the cafe for Jamil to report when he had noticed Brenan get into the cable-car to go upstairs.

He grabbed Jamil, who was walking away from the cable-car doors and they had to use the stairs to get to the room, but they’d not been quick enough. They had arrived in time to see Carol shoot Brenan and for he and Albert to fall to the floor.

The woman had dropped the pistol and followed Albert to the floor. She had gathered him into her arms and sat holding him tight as she wept quietly and rocked the body of her husband as his blood drained onto her skirts.

When Zintan had looked at the face of the man believed to be his son, even he had to look twice. He even felt as if his son had just died and had to drop to Carol’s side as the feeling of loss clutched his heart.

Carol had been strangely calm once the officers had turned up and organised the removal of the bodies. She had simply sat in a chair and looked at them all working around her. She had even let Jamil and Zintan help her to remove the blood-soaked dress once the bodies were gone. She refused to have anyone else near her.

Zintan recognised that she was in a form of shock, as she calmly did as they asked. She didn’t argue when they bundled her and her possessions into a coach and took her to his mansion. Since she was posing as his daughter-in-law, it made sense. Jamil was also worried about the baby she carried, and Zintan agreed it was paramount to keep her safe.

A couple of days later when Carol answered his questions as to who the man truly was, the breath had hissed out between Zintan’s teeth. He was the second oldest child. Because his older sister had married a Duke in Ausland, by agreement between the Kings of Nirvana and Sunland, her line had no claim on his title in this country. It was if she had died and had no children thus dropping from the line of succession.

If his older sister had married in any other country or at home, her line of succession would have inherited from their father when he died, because she had still been alive. Albert, being her last living son, should have inherited the Dukedom that Zintan now held.

As far as Zintan was concerned by blood, and the old lines of succession, the child Carol carried was the next in the succession of the Pirelli line. It had a higher claim than Vera’s daughter did. Hence, the problem he had to ponder.

How was he going to make sure the right child inherited?

“You will have to marry me,” Duke Zintan blurted to Carol one night over dinner.

“What? Are you crazy? The dirt hasn’t even settled over your son and nephew’s graves, and you’re just going to announce to the world that you’re going to marry your dead son’s pregnant wife?” Carol spat out in shock.

Zintan gave her a crooked grin. Carol shuddered slightly. The man shouldn’t look so much like Albert. It was damn scary at times when she caught him from a corner of her eye and thought it was Albert. He had held his age well, and at fifty-five, he didn’t look that old. He was a very fit and healthy man with a vitality that was similar to Albert’s before he died.

Prue rode into the yard. She got down off the horse and gave it to the stable lad. “Do you know if the owner of that carriage is inside?” “Yes, Ma’am, the man and his daughter got hurt by highwaymen. The constables are out trying to track them. The man said they took his wife.” Prue sighed in relief that Tah was okay. “What of the little girl?” The young man shook his head sadly, “She was still unconscious, and the man is in a bad way, worrying about her.” Tears welled in Prue’s eyes....

Fertility Down Chapter 4 Future Solutions

Chapter 4: Future SolutionsI walked into the main office and there was a slick attractive woman standing at the large desk the receptionist sits at when you come in. She seemed to know me right away because she turned to me and put on a big smile for me.“Hi Logan. I’m from Future Solutions.” She stuck out her hand for a hand shake. Her outfit if you could call it that, almost seamed like it came from a Halloween shop labeled “Sexy Professional” of something. Her large bust had a decent amount...

There was no good news in the next couple of days. Albert and Frankie had disappeared. Inspector Tyrone came out to tell them they had searched the taverns and dives and couldn’t find them. Apparently, Anne’s boys were looking too, and they hadn’t had any success either. A Constable reported that a carriage had been stolen from one of the Estates and they now believed the men had left the area. Paul decided to head back to Terville with the news. Prue and Tina soon settled in on the ship. This trip would take six weeks, and Prue was glad she could afford the bigger accommodation. It was designed as a family unit. She had a decent sized bed in her cabin, and one of the two smaller cabins had enough room for Tina and Nianna. They had a railing surrounding half of the lower bed. So Nianna could sleep safe and the other half of the bed made for a change table. A tiny sitting room divided the main bedroom and bathroom from the two...

Willow was very nervous at meeting the King. She wore the green striped dress and found a lovely necklace and earbobs in her mother’s jewellery box. She didn’t like wearing powders on her face so she didn’t. She did smear a pink gloss on her lips and darkened her eyelashes. She grabbed her cape and purse and headed out to the sitting room. Albert Arrondale, better known as Sir Allan Dale these days, wasn’t a happy man. He had to be very careful being back in Midland. Gifted Grifter Ch 06

Chapter 6: Julie Pays the Bills, Part I For nearly a year I had been living as the Gifted Grifter, and I was getting into an established routine. I would travel to Vegas or Atlantic City under an assumed name, betting horses and sports during the day, using my mindreading glasses to pick up tips from knowledgeable bettors. At night I would hit the poker rooms, using my glasses to know what everyone else at the table had in their hands when the table stakes got big, with those advantages, I...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 8 Farming

Ty and Willow headed upstairs after dinner. Ty made her sit on the bed beside him. “Willow, we have to discuss our relationship and how this is going to work. I know I did the wrong thing encouraging you to sleep with me. You are a breathtaking and desirable woman. But if you were to have a chance of finding a husband, it would be best we didn’t continue to sleep together. Willow looked at him, “So I’m not good enough for you is that it?” Ty rubbed his face and stood. He paced the room and...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 10 The Palace

The trip to Bavindor was relatively uneventful. They made a long carriage train, which got longer when they picked up the Dwyer’s, their five wagons and a carriage, on the way. While it was common for thieves to attack the shipments, the local robbers gave them a wide berth due to their escort. The two older members of their Growers Society also joined them, citing safety in numbers. Ty and Willow had no problems including them, as they were, after all, members of their little society and...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 11 Inheritance

When Willow awoke the next morning, Ty was already gone. She sorted through the morning mail and found a note from the lawyer a Baron David Karlson, who had contacted her the month before. She decided she had better go see him before she got any busier. She told Grace she was going out. She didn’t need to be accompanied as she was just going to see a lawyer and would take Brain with her. She dressed and went to the stables to find Brain. He was happy to drive the carriage and take her to...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 13 Dinner

Ty headed to the apartment. He fumed the whole way there. He entered the apartment and went and knocked on Willow door, “Willow the King has requested your presence, I’m to take you back.” Willow yelled at him, “Piss-off.” Ty sighed and tried the door. To his surprise, she hadn’t locked it, so he went in. She was lying face down on her bed. He rolled her back onto his arm, slid the other under her legs and picked her up. She struggled, “Put me down,” she ground out. She was very upset and...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 15 First Ball

After dinner, the party made their way to the ballroom. It was already packed with the guests who hadn’t been invited to dinner. The gossips wanted to know just who had been privileged enough to be invited. Ty escorted Willow into the ballroom. She clutched his arm, “Oh my, please don’t leave me alone in that sea. I’ll get drowned.” Ty had to laugh. He pressed his hand over hers and gripped it. He smiled as he led her into the throng. He introduced her around to people he thought she...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 17 Wedding

Grace was in the kitchen kneading dough. “What on earth are you doing woman? You should be getting your beauty sleep for your wedding tomorrow.” Grace smiled at him, “I find it relaxing.” “What? Are you nervous about getting married?” he asked as he went to the icebox and scooped some slushy ice into a jug. “Yes.” “Why? Hugh loves you. Anyone can see that,” he inquired, finding himself sitting at the table and watching her as he sipped his drink. Grace finished shaping the loaves as she...

Gifted Book 1 SilenceChapter 20 Abduction

Ty woke to hear Willow vomiting into the privy. In spite of his worry about her, he had to smile in delight. Well, she did warn him. It was just as well they were getting married in two weeks. She came back out, and he lifted the blanket so she could crawl back in with him. Willow snuggled back into his embrace, and he kissed her neck and hugged her then rubbed her belly. “No need to be so damn smug, you beastly man,” she grumbled. “I love you, Willow and you will be an awesome mother. I...

Gifted Book 3 IntentChapter 6 News

Vincent had been enjoying his time on the farm. Early in his third week on the farm, several things happened. Ulani’s shearers turned up for one. They sheared early in autumn to give the animals time to regrow their coats for winter. They were sheared again in mid-spring, so they carried lighter coats into summer. The winter coats were worth more than the summer ones. Vincent wondered if Ulani would be happy to move her flocks to his estate. He believed they could do well in the mountain...

Gifted Book 3 IntentChapter 7 Beating

Ulani rolled over to find a man in her bed. Vincent’s hand had been on her hip as if making sure she was beside him during the night. She watched him as he slept. She had a feeling the not too many women had experienced Vincent as she had last night or got to watch him sleep. They all said he never stayed, he always insisted on protection, and once he came, he left. He had done none of those things last night. She wasn’t even sure how many times he made love to her. He had spent a lot of...

Gifted Book 3 IntentChapter 12 Doppelganger

Vincent and Ulani were going to stay at the Way Station that was half a day’s ride from the Terville’s Manor in Bavindor. They had left later than they planned from the one they had stayed in the night before. Vincent blamed it on Ulani, but she told him if he weren’t such a randy little cock, they would have left on time. Vincent countered that it wasn’t his fault that the sight of her naked had him worked up in mere moments. Ulani had to chuckle because she had to admit she had enticed...

Gifted Book 3 IntentChapter 15 Lord Roland Pirelli

Lord Ronald Pirelli and his wife Carol strolled down the gang plank as if they owned the ship. Captain Jamil said they had two nights and then they sailed the next morning. This suited Albert. Tonight, was to scope and tomorrow was to gamble. It had been close to a year since he was last here. Albert was hoping that his new body, look and name, would let him pass by the shadow of Allan Dale, as most here knew him. He’d managed to fleece a few dollars from every member of the crew and while...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 3 Seduction

The following year was busy for both Prue and Ty. During the Winter Season, Ty met Maria Holtan. She was a year younger than he was. He had become totally fascinated with her. Prue and Vincent didn’t like her, but Ty believed he was in love with her. Prue’s dislike stemmed from her knowing who she was. She hoped for Ty’s sake, his uncle had finished with her. Otherwise, things could get ugly. Maria had been introduced to Ty by his uncle as the daughter of Baron Holton who had a district in...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 4 Marriage

During the spring to summer terms, Prue’s little group spent less time together. This year they had to spend more time in their specialised fields. Reggie was heavily tied up with modifications of his brainchild the steam boiler and getting it on the market. He was developing a smaller steam engine that could be used to drive other machinery. Prue had become involved in Master Green’s projects of finding the best chemical combinations to make batteries for storing electricity and machines...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 5 Reggie

Prue was happiest at the Academe. About two months after Richard’s death, Reggie approached her and asked if he could talk to her in private. She now had five other women sharing her dorm, so they went to one of the private reading rooms in the library. It wasn’t unusual for them to be in one, as they still collaborated on the many different projects they worked on. Prue sat down and waited. Reggie paced a bit and then pulled a chair up in front of her. “Prudence you know I hold our...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 6 Sunland

Prue moved out of the hotel to her lodgings. She was soon immersed in work. She had planned to spend two months in each of the three Academies in Sunland, before going to Paulartica. She had been invited to spend three months in both of their most prestigious Universities. She had found that the first Academe in Sunland had not advanced as far as she had. They recommended that she went to the second sooner rather than later because they couldn’t help her. So she only spent about five weeks....

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 7 Stuart

Prue had never spent a month on a ship before. It was an interesting experience. Captain Stuart Sandie helped make it very enjoyable. They took a fancy to each other about two seconds after their eyes met. She recognised the interesting look and returned it. He gave her his slow, crooked smile, flashing his white teeth and kinked his dark, thick curly eyebrow. The look made her wet. She was surprised by her own reaction. But then again it had been nearly five months since she had shared her...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 10 Engagement

Prue woke about two hours later to find herself wrapped in a man’s arms. It took her a moment to realise first, that it wasn’t Sandie, then to remember it was Tah. He was taller and harder than Sandie. He hugged differently as well. His big hand was firmly attached to one of her tits. Sandie generally hugged her waist and tended to leave a little more space between their bodies. Tah was skin to skin, and his cock was hard and jammed between her thighs. She squeezed her butt cheeks together....

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 14 Court

Prue and Vincent arrived the first week of the season. Prue had decided living at the Palace would be okay. She could continue to use her little house as her office. She hoped Willow didn’t need her all the time as she did have other commitments. When Ty sent her a letter, saying Baron Mathew Dwyer and his wife Silvia and their two children would be housed in old Sir Todd’s apartment across from theirs, it eased her mind. They were Willow’s neighbours and friends. More playmates for Nianna...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 15 The Ball

Prue had put on a gown that had a deceptively simple cut. Her bodice was more modest as she was supposed to be a matron, even though she was only twenty-three. She joined Ty and Vincent in the sitting room. She agreed with Ty that Vincent’s new suit and height highlighted Vincent’s well-toned body. It was no wonder he had little trouble with the ladies and he was only seventeen. Ty also looked very handsome in a suit that was similar to Vincent’s attire. They all turned as Willow came out...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 17 The House

The next morning Willow received a note from David. He needed to see her about her house. So Willow and Prue went to see him before going to the Auction house where Willow needed to sort out the sale of her nadack. They also had to see Mr Gary Snidel, the wedding planner. Willow’s grandfather had left her his huge house. It was practically outside the gates of the palace. It was supposed to have been rented for the Season, but the family who had rented it hadn’t been able to make the...

Gifted Book 2 ChemistryChapter 19 Love

Prue opened her eyes to find two extra bodies in her bed. She had a little arm wrapped around her neck and two little knees in her tummy. She looked down to see her daughter cuddled up between her and Tah. Tah’s arm was wrapped over Nianna to lie on Prue’s waist. Her hand was on his hip. She looked at Tah and was glad he had put pants on. His eyes opened, and he grinned at her then looked down at his daughter. “She knocked on the door a couple of hours ago, and I had to let her in,” he...
