idea where it was going to go from there.
The Green Book
By Morpheus
Part 1
Matt frowned as he looked at the pile of clutter, which was spread out
before him. The whole attic was absolutely full of it, of boxes, crates
and countless other items, all of which were covered in dust and hadn't
been touched in years. And unfortunately it was his job to clear it all
out.
"It's not even my attic," Matt muttered in annoyance.
It didn't seem quite fair to Matt that he would be the one who was stuck
cleaning out someone else's attic and without anyone else to help
either. Of course he was being paid for it and fairly well at that, but
it wasn't like he really had a lot of choice either.
When some new people had just bought the house across the street, they
had found that the previous owners... and the owners before them, as
well as who knew how many other previous owners had all used the attic
as a storage room. And a great deal of the things which had been stored
up in the attic seemed to have been forgotten about and abandoned over
the decades.
So when Matt's new neighbors found out that they had a 14 year old boy
living across from them, who had nothing to do during summer vacation,
they had asked him to clean out the clutter for them. Before Matt had
even heard about it, his dad had already volunteered him.
"I can't believe he told them I'd do this," Matt grumbled, "and not even
asking me about it..."
And Matt could still hear his dad's smug words, "Hard work builds
character... and keeps teenage boys out of trouble..."
"At least I'm getting paid for this though," Matt reminded himself,
feeling a little better about it because of that. In fact, he was going
to be given a full hundred dollars for cleaning out the attic. "I just
wish that Luke was here to help..."
But unfortunately, as soon as Matt's best friend had heard about the
project, he had immediately vanished. Luke wasn't exactly the sort to
volunteer for any sort of work that he didn't absolutely have to do.
Matt only wished that he could have vanished too.
With that Matt took another look around the attic, remembering his
instructions to haul everything out to the front yard and then to toss
all of the junk into a huge dumpster. And if he found anything that
looked like it might be worth anything at all, he was supposed to show
it to the new owners so that they could decide if they were going to
keep it or not. But for the most part, they had made it clear that they
wanted the attic cleared out so that they could turn it into a nursery.
Matt thought that if he worked hard, he might be able to get the rest of
the clutter moved out of the attic by the end of the day, though he
suspected that he would be more likely to finish it up the next day.
Still, it seemed like a waste of a lot of time that he could be out
doing something else.
After a minute, Matt returned to work. He quickly found a huge mirror
with several cracks across its dusty, dirty surface, though he could
still see his own reflection in it. However there really wasn't much to
see as he was a fairly average looking boy with dark hair. The only
thing that really made him stand out was that he was just a little
shorter than most other boys his age and that he could pass as a year or
two younger than he actually was.
"I think this goes to the dumpster," Matt said, knowing that a mirror
with a lot of cracks wouldn't be of much use to anyone.
But as Matt was moving the mirror out of the way, he found a small
wooden chest that had been sitting on the floor behind the mirror.
There was a small metal lock on the chest, but it was old and rusty.
Something about the sight of a locked chest excited Matt's curiosity and
imagination.
"Let's see," Matt mused, going to a box of old tools, which he had found
earlier. He pulled out an old hammer that looked as though it could
have been used by his grandpa, deciding that it would do. "A master
key..."
It only took a single hit with the hammer to break the lock off of the
chest and Matt wasted no time in opening the lid. There was something
inside, wrapped in cloth... which he pulled out and carefully
unwrapped.
"Oh," Matt groaned, disappointed to find that it was only an old book.
Matt held the book up in the light for a better look, surprised to see
that it seemed to be in great condition. The book was bound in some
sort of green leather, with several symbols that seemed to be made of
gold metal written on top. Three of the four corners on the front side
of the book had strange symbols on them, but there was a large symbol in
the middle of the cover, which looked somewhat like an eye.
"Cool," Matt shrugged and opened the book, immediately having to take a
second look. "Weird..."
The page that Matt had flipped to was filled with a bunch of strange
symbols, a lot like the ones on the outside of the book. It was
obviously some sort of writing, though it wasn't in any kind of language
that Matt had ever seen before... And to make it even weirder, it was
all written in dark green ink.
Matt stared at the pages for a moment, trying to make out anything about
what it said. However, he couldn't even make out what subject the book
was on, much less what any of the strange language actually said. And
as he flipped through the book, he saw that every single page was
written in these strange symbols.
After looking through the book from cover to cover, Matt tried thinking
about what he was going to do with it. Something like that was too cool
looking to just throw away and he doubted that the owners would care
about a book that they wouldn't even be able to read. So the obvious
solution was to just keep it himself.
Of course Matt couldn't think of much practical use for a book that he
couldn't read, but that was besides the point. It looked cool. Maybe
he could use it as a prop for Dungeons and Dragons... though he had
never played that game before. And better yet, he could dress as Harry
Potter for the next Halloween and use the book as part of his costume.
"Cool." Matt shrugged.
Then with his mind made up, Matt set the book aside to take home when he
was done. At the moment, he still had a lot of work to do and the
sooner he could get it done the sooner he would be able to go home...not
to mention the sooner he would also get paid.
Part 2
Matt smiled faintly as he counted through his small stack of twenty
dollar bills. He had six of them, a total of a hundred and twenty
dollars, his pay for all of the work that he had been doing cleaning out
the new neighbor's attic. They had even given him a small bonus and it
was money that he felt was hard earned... especially as the job had
taken him a bit longer than he'd expected.
Unfortunately Matt's dad had said something the night before about
possibly taking half of the money and putting it into a savings account
for college. Matt hated the idea. He'd worked hard for that money and
didn't see any reason that his dad should have any say in how it got
spent. But he was sure that if he spent it before his dad asked for the
money, than that would take care of that little problem. He could
always use more video games and perhaps even an I-pod.
Then Matt smiled, knowing that his mom and dad were still at work and
wouldn't be back for at least two hours. And since his 9 year old
sister Kelly was still down the street with Regina, the woman who used
to watch Matt when he was younger too, he would have the house to
himself for awhile. And that left plenty of opportunity to head out and
spend the money he'd earned.
But just then Matt heard the doorbell ringing. He quickly stashed his
money into his secret hiding place and then went to get the door. He
wasn't surprised to see that it was his best friend Luke.
Luke was tall, at least compared to Matt, and he was a bit skinny. His
head was covered with red hair that somehow never seemed to be combed
and a splattering of freckles adorned his nose and cheeks. And as
always, Luke had a bit of a grin on his face.
As soon as Matt saw his best friend in the doorway, he couldn't help
thinking of a wild animal that would suddenly run and hide the moment
any danger threatened, but would then come back out afterwards as though
nothing had happened. But in Luke's case, the threat of work had
replaced that of danger.
"Hey," Luke greeted Matt as he came inside, not waiting for an
invitation. Frequently, an unlocked door was all of the invitation that
Luke seemed to need.
"Hey," Matt greeted him back.
"So you finally finished that cleaning stuff?" Luke asked, obviously
already knowing the answer. Matt doubted that he would be there if
there was any chance that he could be caught up in that chore.
Matt nodded. "Yeah... I finished it up a couple hours ago..."
"Cool." Luke grinned. "Then let's go see a movie to celebrate... Your
treat."
"Why mine?" Matt asked suspiciously, already knowing the answer.
"Because you're rich now," Luke pointed out. "I mean, they must have
given you a lot of money..."
Matt rolled his eyes slightly, having expected such from Luke. His
friend didn't like doing any work if he could help it, but that didn't
mean that he wouldn't immediately try gaining the benefits of someone
else's work.
"Maybe," Matt responded, feeling just a little insulted that Luke wanted
to mooch off of him like that, but not wanting to turn his friend down
flat and insult him either. Then Matt suddenly exclaimed, "Hey, I've
got something to show you..."
With that Matt turned and rushed to his room, leaving Luke to follow
close behind. "What's up?" Luke asked as they got to the bedroom. "Did
you find your dad's porno stash?"
"Naw." Matt shook his head. "I'm beginning to think that he's too
boring to ever have something like that."
Then Matt reached for the top of dresser and picked up the strange green
book that he had found the day before. He hadn't even really looked at
it since bringing it home, though he noticed that the green leather
seemed in great condition and the golden metal symbols on the cover
almost looked as though they had recently been polished.
"I found this while cleaning the attic," Matt told Luke. "It's kind of
neat looking..."
"What's it about?" Luke asked, obviously less than impressed.
"No idea." Matt shrugged. "It's not in English and I've never seen
writing like this before..."
Matt smiled and opened the book to the first page, seeing the strange
symbols, which were written in green ink and covered the whole page.
"See..." But just then the green ink began to glow... and then to move
around on the page. All of the symbols melted away and a moment later,
the whole page was written in English instead.
"Oh shit," Matt exclaimed, dropping the book onto the floor in surprise.
"Did you see that?" Luke blurted out. "Does it always do that?"
But Matt only stared down at the book in surprise and confusion, seeing
that the page was changing back to being those weird symbols again. He
stared at it for a moment more before reaching for the book. As soon as
his hand had touched it, the writing once again changed to English.
"Major weird," Matt muttered, flipping through the rest of the book and
seeing that all of the other pages were still the strange symbols. It
was only the first page which had turned to English.
"Let me look at that," Luke demanded, grabbing the book out of Matt's
hands. But as soon as he was holding the book, it changed back to the
symbols again.
Luke stared at the pages, then flipped through the book for a moment,
staring at every detail before finally turning to Matt and demanding,
"Okay... How'd you do that?"
"I didn't," Matt protested as he took the book back, seeing the page
changing yet again. "It didn't do that when I found it..."
"Then how come it turns to English when you hold it, but not me?" Luke
eyed him suspiciously.
"I don't know." Matt frowned, then exclaimed, "Maybe because I'm the
one who found it..."
Then Matt finally looked more closely at the English writing and saw
that there was a title on the page that said, "EXCHANGE REFLECTIONS."
He read down just a little further and realized that it was supposed to
be some sort of magic spell for two people to trade their reflections
for a short time.
"It's some kind of spell book." Matt gasped in amazement, not having
believed that such a thing even existed until then, at least not in the
real world.
"No way." Luke stared at it. "It's like Harry Potter..."
"I guess I'm Harry and you're Ron Weasley," Matt pointed out.
"Why am I Ron?" Luke demanded.
Matt just grinned. "Because I'm the chosen one and you've got the red
hair..."
"Well shut up," Luke scowled at him, "or I'll give you the scar..."
They were both silent for a moment, staring at the first page of the
book and thinking the same thing. It was Matt who finally suggested it.
"Let's try this spell..."
Matt carefully read through the page, which was currently written in
English but still wasn't extremely clear. The whole thing seemed fairly
vague, though he could make out that the spell was supposed to let two
people trade their reflections for 30 minutes at a time. It seemed
harmless enough, so Matt looked to the spell itself, which was written
so that he could read it, but which was obviously not in English.
"Nectal daiz breato," Matt started, afraid at first that he would
mispronounce the words and ruin the spell, but finding that he seemed to
instinctively known how to pronounce them correctly, "sheazbane giad..."
As soon as the final word had left Matt's mouth, the letters on the page
began to glow and a second later, the symbols on the next page glowed
faintly for a moment as well, though they remained just as unreadable as
before.
"Nothing happened," Luke exclaimed, sounding a bit disappointed.
"Well," Matt said slowly as he looked around his bedroom, "it said that
it was to make us trade reflections... But we can't have reflections
without a mirror..."
"Oh yeah," Luke muttered, looking just a little embarrassed.
With that Matt set the book on his bed and rushed to his parents
bedroom, with Luke following close behind. As soon as they were inside,
they stopped and stared at the wall, which had a large mirror hanging
from it. They stared in amazement as their reflections had exchanged
places. Matt's image was right in front of Luke, while Luke's face
stared back at Matt.
"Weird," Matt whispered, waving his hand and seeing Luke's hand waving
back from the mirror. "This is really weird..."
"I bet we could really confuse people with this." Luke grinned,
obviously thinking of what kind of practical joke that spell could let
them perform.
"I wonder what my dad is gonna say when I show him THIS," Matt said. "I
mean, he'll flip when he finds out that magic is real..."
"Are you kidding?" Luke demanded, turning to glare at Matt. "You can't
tell your mom and dad..."
"Why not?" Matt asked.
Luke just let out an exasperated sigh before saying, "As kids, it's our
responsibility to protect our parents from the harsh realities of
life... When they get that old, their brains get sort of petrified or
stagnant and they just can't handle new thoughts and things anymore...
All that they can really do is stay in their ruts, follow rules and do
what other people tell them... Adults just can't handle this kind of
thing..."
"I guess you're right," Matt admitted.
Then Matt realized that there were other reasons...perhaps even more
important reasons that he couldn't tell his parents. For one, they
wouldn't believe him and if by some chance they did, that could only
create more problems. Matt couldn't exactly admit that he got the book
by taking it from the neighbor's attic... even they didn't even know it
existed. And then, there was absolutely no doubt that his mom and dad
wouldn't let him keep anything that cool. They'd take it away in an
instant...
"Okay," Matt announced, "it's our secret..."
Of course Matt couldn't exactly see any real use for a book that no one
could read and a magic spell which let people trade reflections in the
mirror, but that was beside the point. The point was that he had found
something interesting...something out of the ordinary and there was no
way that he was just going to let something like that slip out of his
fingers.
Part 3
Matt sat on the edge of his bed and let out a yawn, tired from the
events of the day. He'd spent most of the morning cleaning out the
neighbor's attic and then there was the excitement with the book.
"Oh yeah." Matt grinned, reaching for the green book that was sitting
beside his bed.
He held it in his hand for just a minute, thinking about the magic
spell, which he had cast earlier. It had actually let him and Luke
trade reflections in the mirror... at least for a little while. After
half an hour, the spell had worn off and their reflections had returned
to normal. Of course, Matt had quickly cast the spell again and they
spent yet another half hour with each other's reflections.
"Pretty cool," Matt mused.
Then Matt opened the book to look at the spell. Just as before, the
symbols on the page rearranged themselves until it was written in clear
English. However this time there was something different. This time
the next page began to blur and turn to English as well.
"What the...?" Matt blinked in surprise.
He'd opened that book and looked at the spell probably a dozen times
since he had first cast it earlier in the day... And the last time he
had looked at it had been merely an hour earlier. But not once had the
second spell changed like the first one had...
Matt was a bit confused by the second spell suddenly changing for him,
though not so much that he didn't immediately read what it was. His
curiosity immediately came to life and he scanned over the page, seeing
that it was quite a bit like the spell on the first page. On this spell
was titled, "REMOVE REFLECTION," and seemed to be for the purpose of
making a persons reflection in the mirror disappear.
"It is time for bed," Matt reminded himself, trying to decide if he
should try the new spell or not.
It only took Matt a minute to decide that he was going to cast the
spell... His curiosity wouldn't let him go to bed without doing so...
If he tried, he just knew that he'd lie awake in bed, thinking about it.
With that Matt carefully looked down the page until he found what he was
looking for. He smiled, then recited the strange words that made up the
spell. The words on that page immediately began to glow, as did the
symbols on the next page... though much more faintly.
"That's weird." Matt frowned.
When Matt had cast the first spell that day, at least for the first
time, the symbols on the second page had glowed a little. He'd barely
paid that much attention, but every other time he'd cast the first
spell, the second page hadn't glowed at all. And now that he'd cast the
second spell, the third one was the one to glow with it.
"I wonder," Matt started, the beginnings of a thought forming in his
mind. However, that was cut short as he remembered the spell that he
had just cast. "I've got to see this..."
Matt hurried to the bathroom, then paused to look into the mirror above
the sink. The sight was an especially creepy one as his reflection
wasn't in the mirror at all. He stared into the mirror... and saw the
wall behind him. It was as though he had turned invisible, though he
could still see himself perfectly well... just not in the mirror.
"Cool," Matt exclaimed, suddenly deciding that this would be great to
use for Halloween. If he went dressed up as a vampire and cast this
spell... It would definitely be a really cool effect.
For the next several minutes, Matt waved his hand in front of the mirror
and made faces at himself. He picked up a candleholder from beside the
sink and held that up in front of the mirror. The candleholder looked
like it was floating in mid-air.
However Matt knew that he couldn't keep it up all night and it was time
to get to bed. So he reluctantly prepared himself, then went back to
his room, staring at the green book one more time before finally
crawling under the covers. He didn't know how he was going to get to
sleep, but he was going to try.
---
The next morning, Matt immediately opened the spell book, finding that
the same two spells that he'd seen before were readable, though he was
disappointed that no new spells had suddenly appeared. Still he cast
the second spell again, carefully noting that this time the next spell
didn't glow at all.
"At least I won't have a reflection," Matt grinned, wondering what his
mom and dad would say if they noticed.
Matt grinned to himself, feeling rather smug with his secret of no
reflection as he went to breakfast. He was even in a good mood when his
little sister Kelly got the last of the Captain Crunch, leaving him with
his mom's Shredded Wheat as the only cereal left.
Half an hour after Matt had cast the spell, it wore off, causing his
reflection to return. He was tempted to cast the spell again, to go the
rest of the day without a reflection if he could, though he decided
against it. Casting the spell again every half hour seemed like a bit
much work.
"I can't wait to tell Luke about this one," Matt told himself, eager to
show his new spell off.
At the same time, Matt couldn't stop thinking about the spells... about
how they kept appearing without any warning. It didn't make any sense
that the book would just translate into English whenever he touched
it... But it seemed to make even less sense that that only the first
couple spells were changing and that they hadn't done it at first.
"Why are those spells different?" Matt muttered in frustration,
wondering how he could get the other spells to change to English too.
But then, just after lunch, Matt opened the book and was amazed to see a
third spell becoming readable. He had looked at the book several times
since he had gotten up in the morning, but this was the first time the
third page had become clear.
"Why?" Matt asked himself again, getting more confused.
Then Matt shrugged the question off to give his full attention to the
spell. This one said that it was a spell to record your reflection on a
mirror so that it was reflected back later instead.
"Boring," Matt muttered, not seeing anything useful with that particular
spell. So with a shrug, he closed the spell book, not bothering to try
that one out just yet. "Maybe later..."
With that Matt carefully put the book away, deciding that it might be a
good idea to keep it out of plain sight. Though no one else seemed to
be able to read it, he didn't want to take any chances, nor did he want
to leave it out where anyone else, such as Kelly, could just walk in and
pick it up.
After Matt had hidden the book in his closet, he hurried over to Luke's
house, where the two of them spent the rest of the day playing video
games and watching TV.
It was afternoon of the next day when Luke and Matt were sitting around
Matt's bedroom and he pulled out the spell book to show off the new
spell.
"Not too impressive," Matt shrugged.
"Yeah," Luke agreed. "Have you tried it out yet?"
"Not yet," Matt shrugged again. "Maybe we should try it now."
Matt frowned a little as he looked through the green book, a bit
disappointed that no new spell had appeared yet. He didn't know when
the next one would appear, or if it even would. So he would have to do
with the limited number of spells that he currently had available.
"Only three spells." Matt sighed. "How am I going to be a wizard like
Harry Potter if I don't have any decent spells?"
Luke just snorted. "Who said that you're going to be a wizard? Just
because you have a book that tells you how to cast a few spells, that
doesn't mean that you're a wizard or anything..."
Matt just glared at Luke, then turned his attention to reading the new
spell. Of course the new spell would require a mirror before casting
it, but that was no problem as Matt had already grabbed a small hand
mirror and left it in his room the night before, just so that he could
practice with the other spells. He followed the instructions, reading
the first part of the spell.
Then he stared into the mirror, announcing, "This is only a test. If
this were a real message, I wouldn't be leaving it in a mirror..." Matt
grinned over at Luke, then finished the spell with the final words on
the page.
"That should do it," Matt announced, pausing as he noticed that the
symbols on the next page were glowing green... He frowned, realizing
that this only seemed to happen the first time that he cast one of the
spells. Whenever he cast one of the spells for the first time, the
symbols on the next page glowed. Then awhile later, they started to
translate to English too.
"What?" Luke asked, looking at Matt oddly.
"I think I've figured it out," Matt told him slowly. Then at Luke's
blank look, he explained, "I think that maybe when I read one of the
spells... it sort of activates the next one..."
"What do you mean?" Luke asked, looking a bit blank.
Matt wasn't completely sure exactly what he was thinking himself, but it
seemed to become more clear as he began explaining. "Maybe the book is
sort of like sort of like dominos or something... You have to use one
spell to get the next one to show up... So if I don't use this spell,
the next one never appears..."
"They why doesn't the next one show up right away?" Luke snorted
sarcastically. "I mean, c'mon..."
"Well I don't know," Matt scowled. "Maybe it's like some sort of time
lock... I mean, maybe each spell just has to wait so long after the
previous one is cast before it unlocks..."
"Well," Luke shrugged, obviously not taking Matt's theory very
seriously, "if the next spell shows up, then I guess you might be
right."
Matt just rolled his eyes. "So much trust in me..."
Luke just shrugged again, then asked, "So... how do we see that
message?"
"It says that it plays the next time someone touches the mirror," Matt
explained, looking over the page on the book. With that he carefully
touched the hand mirror, smiling as his own image appeared in it. But
the image in the mirror wasn't moving along with how he was moving at
the moment... It was doing what he had been a few minutes earlier, even
speaking.
"You're talking out of the mirror?" Luke gasped, staring at the mirror
in amazement. The message was a very short one so finished playing very
quickly. Still, Matt and Luke were both impressed. "How does a mirror
record sound?"
"I don't know," Matt scowled, hating to be asked questions that he
didn't know the answer to. "Magic?"
For a minute, Matt and Luke just stared at the mirror, which was back to
being a normal one. Then they both stared at the green book, before
Luke finally exclaimed, "Damn... I can't wait to see what the next
spell does..."
Part 4
Matt carefully ran his hand over the spell book, marveling at the way
that even after it been stored in that box for years, the gold symbols
on the cover were bright and shiny, as if they had just been polished.
Even the leather cover and pages themselves seemed to be in perfect
condition. Of course those were the least of the oddities about the
green book.
Then Matt paused for a moment before smiling, thinking of all of the
interesting things that the book had let him and Luke do over the last
few days. After the first three spells, the book had continued to
unlock others one at a time.
And like the first three, the fourth spell had dealt with mirrors as
well. That one let someone look into a mirror and see anything that had
been reflected in it during the past twenty four hours. Matt had
thought that this was boring and useless, until Luke had pointed out how
it could be used for spying on people... Unfortunately that hadn't
proven very exciting as Matt has used the spell on nearly every mirror
in the house and he hadn't seen anything interesting at all. Of course
it only showed anything within the previous day, which really limited
just how useful that trick could be.
After the fourth spell, the other pages in the book that became unlocked
were somewhat different. There was a spell that could change a person's
hair color, then another one, which could make hair grow longer. Luke
had not been thrilled to be the test subject for that one, though Matt
laughed at the sight of his friend with hair that went down his back
like a girl. They'd cut the hair off to hide it, which only resulted in
Luke's mom rightly thinking that he'd tried giving himself a haircut and
immediately taking him to the barber to fix it.
However the spell that really caught Matt's attention was the one which
the book had unlocked for him that morning. It said that it was a spell
of possession and the description said something about it being used to
control other people. Matt wasn't completely sure about what it meant
and wanted to talk with Luke before trying anything with that spell.
Matt clutched the book possessively, glanced at the clock and then
decided that it was late enough. At 10 AM, Luke was bound to be up and
about and Matt didn't think that anyone would mind him going over about
that time.
With that Matt rushed out of his room and nearly collided with his
sister Kelly. "Sorry," he apologized, knowing that some of his friends
would have gasped at the thought of apologizing to their younger
siblings for anything, but also knowing that it had been his own fault.
"Watch where you're going," Kelly responded, glaring at Matt a bit.
However he just stuck his tongue out at her, getting her to giggle and
stick her tongue out back.
"See ya," Matt told her, rushing to the front door with the book firmly
in hand.
It didn't take Matt long to get to Luke's house, but since Luke lived
almost two blocks away, it wasn't like going to the house next door
either. He smiled when he got to the door, wondering what Luke would
say about the new spell. But he would find out in just a couple of
minutes.
After Matt had knocked on the door, he only had to wait a few seconds
before it opened up. And there in the doorway stood Tina, Luke's older
sister. She was seventeen and though she was rather pretty, she wasn't
one of the prettiest or most popular girls in school, though she often
seemed to think that she was.
"Oh, it's you," Tina greeted Matt, less than enthusiastically. Still
she opened the door to let him inside.
As soon as Matt was in the house, he went across the living room to
where Luke had just come in from the kitchen. They grinned at each
other, neither saying anything, though Luke's eyes immediately went to
the book in Matt's hand.
"Well since they're both here," Tina announced, glancing to her mother
who was sitting down on the couch watching a game show, "I'm going to
Bethany's for some peace and quiet.."
With that Tina glared at Luke with all of the distain which was called
for form an older sister, then giving Matt a similar look before she
turned and left the house.
"C'mon," Luke told Matt, already going towards his bedroom.
When they went into Luke's bedroom, Matt had to pause and glance around
for a moment. Luke's dislike of doing any work at all seemed well
represented by his room, which was horribly messy. It was as though he
just tossed clothes into corners and never bothered putting them... or
anything else in there back where they belonged. Matt knew that his own
mom would throw a hissy fit if he'd left his room in such a state and he
felt kind of envious of Luke that he was allowed to.
"So, what's up with your mom?" Matt asked, having noticed the deep scowl
on her face while she watched TV.
"Oh," Luke shrugged, "Dad's late with the support payment again... and
she's saying that she might not let me spend a couple weeks with him
this summer like he wants."
"Bummer," Matt sighed sympathetically.
"You're lucky your folks are still together," Luke shrugged. All that
Matt could do was nod to that.
They sat in silence for a minute before Matt suddenly remembered
something that he'd wanted to tell Luke and blurted out, "Oh yeah... I
found out something about the book last night..."
That immediately caught Luke's full attention. "Yeah?"
Matt smugly held up the book and said, "You can't cast spells without
the book..." At Luke's blank look, he explained, "I memorized one of
the spells and tried saying it, but nothing happened. I found out that
I have to be touching the book for it to work..."
"Which spell was it?" Luke asked.
"The one to make my reflection vanish." Matt shrugged, then told him,
"It was the shortest and easiest to remember..." Just then Luke stared
at the book and grinned. "So... does it have any new spells?"
"Yeah." Matt opened the page and waited a few seconds while the symbols
rearranged themselves into English for him. "I've got one here... but
I haven't tried it out yet."
"So, what does it do?" Luke asked, a hungry look in his eyes.
Matt shrugged. "I'm not really sure yet, but it says something about
controlling someone else... You know how these spells are... They
might be in English but some of what they say isn't real clear..."
"Well, we should try it out," Luke urged. And when Matt asked on who,
he shrugged. "Since Tina left, the only ones here besides us is my
mom..."
"You want to use magic on your mom?" Matt gasped in surprise.
Luke shrugged. "Why not?" Then when Matt hesitated, he continued,
"We're all alone so it's the perfect time..."
"The spell does have some stuff about limitations in it," Matt finally
admitted, "like it wearing off after an hour..."
"Good enough," Luke grinned. "Let's try it..."
Matt nodded and then looked down through the page until he got to the
part with the actual spell. He took a deep breath, glanced at Luke and
carefully began to recite the strange words. The words came easily,
almost naturally as they did every time that he read them straight from
the book. It was only when he tried memorizing them and reciting them
on his own that he had difficulty pronouncing them.
As soon as Matt had uttered the final syllable of the spell, he felt a
strange dizziness rush through him. He gasped in surprise, then
suddenly realized that he was no longer in Luke's room. Instead he was
sitting in the living room, facing the TV.
"What...?" Matt started, then froze, realizing that things were even
weirder than his being moved to the next room.
He felt strange... very strange. Matt couldn't quite put his finger on
exactly what it was about his body that didn't feel right, but he knew
that it was there. And when he looked down at himself, he let out an
even louder gasp.
"NO WAY," Matt blurted out at the sight of two round globes pushing out
from his chest. And more than that, he immediately recognized the shirt
that Luke's mom had been wearing. His eyes darted over the rest of his
body, seeing that he not only had on her clothes... but that they all
fit perfectly.
Matt jumped to his feet, still staring down at his body... or at least
the body he was in since it was obviously not his own. He felt his
heart jump as he grabbed for his chest, feeling that they were indeed a
part of him. Then his hands went down to his waist... and even the
spot between his legs. There was absolutely no doubt in his mind that
he had somehow turned into Luke's mom.
"That spell," Matt gasped in realization. "The possession spell didn't
mean that it would make a person into my possession and that they would
do whatever I wanted... It meant that I actually would possess them..."
Matt shook his head in stunned amazement. "Oh shit..."
For a moment, Matt just stood there, feeling dazed, embarrassed and then
even a little bit excited. The spell might not have done what he had
expected, but it had indeed worked. He had just cast a magic spell that
was unlike anything else that he'd run into in that book so far.
"Weird," he muttered to himself.
Then Matt licked his lips, turned around and looked for the mirror,
which he knew hung on the wall of Luke's living room. He rushed to it,
not at all surprised to see the face of Luke's mom reflected back.
Seeing someone else's ace in the mirror wasn't quite as weird as it
would have once been since he'd been using the reflection trading spell
with Luke, but it was still weird. It was even weirder since he knew
that it was reflecting the fact that he actually wore.
"This is incredible," Matt whispered, running a finger across his cheek.
He even had her hands... with her long manicured nails.
But after a moment, Matt froze, realizing that Luke was still back in
the bedroom... He turned and rushed, coming through the bedroom door
and seeing Luke sitting there, shaking Matt's unconscious body. It was
definitely a strange sight to see his own body on the floor like that,
completely motionless.
"Come on," Luke exclaimed as he shook Matt's body one more time before
suddenly looking back and noticing Matt.
"Mom..." Luke gulped, obviously trying to think of how he could
possibly explain what was going on.
For a moment, Matt was tempted to mess with his best friend and pretend
that he really was his mom... But he was bursting with excitement over
the discovery of what that spell could do and he was eager to share it.
"It's me," Matt exclaimed, blushing in embarrassment. "I mean, it's
me... Matt. The spell turned me into your mom..."
Luke just stared at him as though her were joking, at least for a few
seconds. Then he gasped. "Matt...? Is that really you?" He stared at
the body of his mom in disbelief and amazement.
"Yeah." Matt nodded, blushing even more. Then he suddenly had an idea
and couldn't resist. He stood up as straight as he could and in his
deepest voice announced, "Luke... I am your mother." It wasn't his
best Darth Vader impression, especially since he wasn't even in his own
body, but it was enough to send them both into a fit of laughter.
"That is just so weird," Luke said, shaking his head in disbelief. "I
mean, you're really my mom?"
"Well, I'm in her body," Matt grimaced, "and it feels kind of weird."
Then Matt looked down at his own body, which was motionless on the
floor, looking as though it were asleep... or even dead. He gulped and
bent over to check himself out.
"I thought you were asleep," Luke blurted out.
Matt just nodded and put a hand on his body, only to gasp as the strange
dizziness hit him again. The next thing that he knew, he was lying on
the floor and looking up at the sight of Luke's mom standing above him.
"What...?" she gasped, blinking in surprise as she stood up straight.
"How did I get in here...?"
"Um..." Luke gulped, looking confused as his eyes darted back and forth
from Matt to his mom.
"Um... you came in through the door," Matt said, thinking quickly and
trying to cover the situation as best he could with sarcasm. "I fell
and you came in to check on the noise..."
Luke's mom stood there for a moment, looking fairly confused. Then she
chook her head, apparently deciding that she'd just had a momentary
lapse of concentration.
"Well you boys be careful," she cautioned them before turning and
leaving the room.
"Wow," Matt muttered, with Luke shaking his head in agreement.
"Why did you suddenly switch back like that?" Like asked, frowning as he
did so. "You nearly gave me a heart attack."
"I don't know," Matt sighed, reaching for the book, "but I think it has
something to do with me touching my own body... It said something about
that in the instructions..."
"Why didn't you say anything about it then?" Luke demanded. "And why
did you touch yourself like that if you knew?"
"I didn't think it was important," Matt grimaced. "And I forgot..."
And of course it hadn't really made a whole lot of sense when he'd read
it... only once the nature of the spell had become more clear.
There was a long moment when Luke and Matt both just sat there, staring
at the book with looks of hungry curiosity. They couldn't help
wondering what the next spell in the book might be.
"What was that like?" Luke asked after a moment.
"Weird," Matt answered immediately. Then he shook his head. "But I
wasn't in her body long enough to really notice much..."
Luke was silent for a moment, then began to grin. A glint of mischief
appeared in the corner of his eyes and he suggested, "Let's try it
again..."
Matt hesitated for several seconds, then nodded his agreement. He
opened the green book to the right page, gave Luke a nervous smile, then
began to read the spell again.
Part 5
"Look at this," Matt exclaimed, "I'm your mom..."
Matt stood in the middle of his best friend Luke's living room, staring
down at his body, or at least at what was his body for the moment. Most
of the time it really belonged to Luke's mom.
"Weird," Mark muttered, poking the two breasts which pushed out from his
chest. "This feels so weird..."
"Just don't touch yourself again," Luke reminded him, "you'll end up as
yourself..."
"I know," Matt scowled at the unnecessary reminder.
Matt carefully cupped his borrowed breasts in his hands, amazed at just
how big they seemed... He knew that they weren't really all that big
compared to a lot of women, but they sure felt big on him.
"Hey," Luke snapped, "that's my mom's body..."
"Okay." Matt yanked his hands away, feeling somewhat embarrassed at his
actions. But he couldn't help the curiosity that he was feeling. He'd
never been in a grown woman's body before... at least not for more than
the two minutes such a short time earlier and that hadn't been enough
time to do anything except be stunned.
But since Matt was still curious, he went to the mirror, which hung on
the living room wall and just stared into it, amazed to see the face of
his best friend's mom staring back at him. She had to be about forty,
but she was still fairly attractive... for a mom.
"God I feel old," Matt muttered, noticing the lack of energy, which he
normally felt.
"Hey," Luke exclaimed with a grin, "now that you're my mom... how about
making me lunch?"
Matt responded, "Now that I'm your mom... why don't I ground you
instead..."
They both laughed at that and Luke shook his head. "Man, I know it's
you in there... but it's still my mom's body. It's kind of creepy to
be talking to my mom like this and knowing that she's not my mom..."
"I guess," Matt frowned, knowing that it was also a bit creepy to look
like Luke's mom.
"Maybe we should go and get some tickets for an R rated movie while
you're like that," Luke suggested, his eyes glittering with the scheme.
But Matt nearly choked at the thought. "I'm not going out in public
like this..." He shuddered, thinking that it might be less embarrassing
to go out in public with nothing but his underwear on. "And besides,"
he added a moment later, "what if it wears off sooner than I think it
will?"
"Good point," Luke nodded agreement, though looking a little
disappointed. Then he suggested, "Maybe you could tell Tina that she's
grounded... That would be a blast..."
"Maybe," Matt nodded, a little thankful that Tina wasn't there at the
moment or Luke might push him to do that a bit more. Being in the body
of Luke's mom was embarrassing enough, but to actually try pretending to
be her...
After a minute, Luke suddenly asked, "What's it feel like?"
"It feels weird," Matt grimaced. "I mean, I feel a little tired and
I've got these THINGS on my chest, not to mention the fact that I look
like my best friend's mom. How the hell do you think I feel?"
Luke shrugged. "How the hell should I know. It's not like I'm the one
who traded with my mom..."
They were silent for another minute before Luke said, "You know, this is
kind of cool..."
"What?" Matt blinked in surprise. "You think my turning into your mom
is cool?"
Matt frowned, having to admit to himself at least that it was kind of
cool. It was interesting to be someone else, even Luke's mom. However
he wasn't about to admit to anyone else, even his best friend, that
being a girl for any reason could ever be cool.
"I mean the spell," Luke quickly corrected. "I mean, this spell is a
hell of a lot better than any of the other ones so far... This one
might be kind of weird, but you have to admit that it's a lot better
than making your hair grow longer..." He stuck his tongue out at that
one.
"I guess," Matt admitted, thinking about the book and wondering what
other kinds of spells were in it. The longer that he had the book, the
more and more curious he was as to what else it could do.
After a minute more, Matt went and sat down on the couch, taking a quick
look down at his chest when Luke wasn't watching. He shook his head,
then reached back and tugged on his now shoulder length hair.
"Man this is weird," he muttered.
It was just a short time later when Luke suddenly exclaimed, "Oh
shit..."
"What?" Matt looked at him.
Luke jumped to his feet. "I just thought... What if my mom is in there
looking out right now...? What if she remembers all of this? Oh man,
we are SO DEAD!"
Matt felt a surge of panic jump into this throat, though he quickly
pushed it back down. "She didn't remember it earlier," he pointed out,
"she didn't remember how she got into your room... I don't think she
can remember when I'm in here. Maybe it's like she goes asleep in here
or something..." He tapped his head, hoping that this was right. If
not, then Luke was right and they would both be dead.
Still Matt and Luke both knew that it was better to be safe than sorry.
And because of that, they two of them sat there on the couch and tried
their best to stay out of trouble. It was difficult, especially with
the temptation provided by Matt's borrowed body. However the thought of
what would happen to them if they pushed that any further and got caught
was enough to help them both keep their impulses in check.
Then finally, just an hour after Matt had cast the spell, he felt a
surge of dizziness again. He gulped and sat up, suddenly realizing that
he was back in Luke's room and in his own body again.
"Thank God," he muttered, patting his chest and letting out a sigh of
relief that it was nice and flat like it should be. "That was just too
weird..."
With that Matt got up and looked around, suddenly realizing that he was
in Luke's room by himself. Of course he had been in the living room
with Luke a minute earlier, so Luke must still be in there. And after
taking a deep breath, Matt went to the living room to see if his theory
was correct... or if he was in DEEP trouble.
To Matt's relief, Luke's mom was still sitting on the couch with a faint
look of confusion. She looked at the clock and blinked. "It's later
than I thought..." She shook her head. "I could have sworn that it was
earlier than this..." And after a moment, she shrugged and said, "I
guess I must have dozed off..."
"Yeah," Luke suddenly added. "You were kind of snoring too..."
Then Luke looked up at Matt and grinned triumphantly. They had pulled
it off and neither one of them would have to face the consequences of
Matt's borrowing her body like that.
A minute later, they rushed into Luke's bedroom and both burst into
laughter. "Thank God," Matt sighed, "she doesn't remember any of it..."
"That is so cool." Luke grinned, the mischief glinting in his eyes as
he obviously considered what they could do with that spell in the
future.
"Yeah," Matt said with less enthusiasm, though he was still excited as
he thought about what that latest spell had been able to do. "I can't
wait to see what the next spell can do..."
"Me either," Luke laughed. "Maybe it will turn you into a dog or
something..."
Matt only grunted at that. "Yeah right..."
"Do you want to try that one again?" Luke asked eagerly.
"I don't think so," Matt scowled, feeling just a little uncomfortable
with the thought of being Luke's mom again.
"But it's funny having you as my mom," Luke teased him.
But after this, they turned their attention to some of Luke's video
games, which they played for the next several hours. Eventually Luke
went home, clutching the green book tightly and wondering what spell
would be revealed to him next.
Then that night, just before bed time, the next spell appeared. Matt
read through it in surprise, then suddenly burst out laughing. "Okay
Luke... I can't wait to show you this one..."
Part 6
Matt woke up in the morning with a smile and immediately went to the
green book, which he now had hidden in the back of his closet so that
his mom couldn't find it. His eagerly opened the pages and stared at
the latest spell, impatient to cast it but knowing that he couldn't
really do that until Luke arrived.
"Maybe something else instead," Matt muttered to himself.
He grinned in excitement as he thought about casting another one of the
spells. The thought of what might come next kept running through his
mind and he knew that he would have to find out. He would have to find
out what all of the spells in the book could do.
Just then Matt heard something from the other room. He peaked out of
his bedroom and saw that his mom was up, still dressed in only her
bathrobe. Matt stared at her for a moment and then gave a hesitant
smile.
"It worked for Luke's mom," he mused to himself, "so why not mine?"
And with that Matt opened the book to the page with the spell that he
had been casting on Luke's mom the day before... Then, after hesitating
for just a moment, Matt read the possession spell... He felt the power
built until suddenly he was torn from his own body.
"Oh man," Matt muttered as he suddenly found himself standing in the
kitchen with a box of cereal in his hand. He looked at the box and
frowned, seeing that it was his mom's cereal... which was not
surprising since it was in her hand. "Wow..."
Matt stood frozen for a few seconds before setting the box of cereal
onto the counter. Then he carefully looked at his hands, staring at his
fingers with the feminine manicured nails. He wiggled his fingers,
giggling a little as he did so.
"I have her fingers," Matt grinned to himself, feeling extremely strange
as he said it.
He looked down at himself, at what was now obviously his mom's body.
Not only was he wearing her robe, but he had her breasts pushing out
from his chest as well. Then of course there was everything else which
he couldn't quite see beneath the robe and which he was in no hurry to
look at.
After a moment, Matt decided that it was a lot stranger to be in his own
mom's body than it had been to be in Luke's mom... Of course that
wasn't too surprising, but it did make him feel extremely weird.
Matt licked his lips for a moment then hurried out of the kitchen,
heading straight for the bathroom. He grimaced at the strange way his
mom's breasts jiggled when he moved. Then when he got to the bathroom,
he stopped to stare into the mirror.
"It worked," Matt said as he ran a hand over his face, "I really did
turn into my mom..."
For a moment, Matt didn't know whether to be excited by that fact or
freaked out. Instead, he decided to just enjoy it while he could and
try not to think about just how strange and wrong the whole thing was.
"Really weird," matt muttered, staring down at his hands again and
eyeing the glittering diamond wedding ring on his finger. "I guess this
means I'm married..." He chuckled a little at that.
Matt stared at his reflection for a minute longer, then turned away,
shaking his head. He smiled a bit, wondering what Luke would say if he
found out that Matt had 'borrowed' his own mother's body. Then he
gulped, imagining exactly what kind of teasing that Luke might give him,
deciding that he would have to keep that little possession to himself.
Then Matt suddenly realized that he was feeling a bit hungry. He
remembered that his mom had been about to pour herself a bowl of cereal
when he had jumped into her and decided that maybe he should do the same
thing himself. So a few seconds later, he went back to the kitchen,
completely ignoring his mom's cereal which he had left on the counter
and pouring himself a bowl of Captain Crunch instead.
Matt had only taken several bites of his breakfast when he noticed his
little Kelly stepping into the kitchen, wearing the oversized T shirt
which usually served as her pajamas. She yawned, then looked to where
Matt was sitting at the table.
"Morning mommy." Kelly smiled at Matt.
At first, Matt just sat there frozen, not sure what to do. He quickly
glanced down at himself, gulped as he remembered exactly what he looked
like and then decided that he had no choice but to play along.
"Morning... honey," Matt told her, forcing himself to call her 'honey'
as their mom always did.
Kelly just smiled at that and said, "I'm hungry..."
The way that she had said it left no doubt as to what was expected,
especially as Luke already knew the normal routine. So he grunted
faintly and got up from his breakfast to pour some for her.
After Matt had poured his sister... and temporary daughter her own bowl
of cereal, they both sat the table and ate. However Kelly took one look
at Matt's bowl and asked, "Why aren't you eating your cereal?"
Matt quickly glanced to the counter where it was sitting out and told
her, "Because mommy felt like something different today..."
That explanation seemed to work because Kelly dropped the subject and
focused on her eating. Matt felt a little strange to be sitting there
with his sister, with her thinking that he was their mom... but he
thought that it was kind of funny as well. She didn't have any idea...
But after the breakfast, Kelly suddenly asked, "Which clothes should I
wear today...?"
Matt blinked in surprise at that, having absolutely no idea. He tried
to picture one of his sister's outfits, but he couldn't remember any of
them. After all, clothes were just clothes.
"Why don't you pick one out?" Matt said, trying to think quickly. "Then
I'll tell you if it looks good..."
"Okay." Kelly grinned and ran off to her own room.
"Man this is weird." Matt shook his head.
About the only thing that Matt could think of what would have made this
experience as his mom any weirder would have been if his dad had shown
up. He had absolutely no idea how he would react to his dad while he
looked like his mom.
"Thankfully he's already left for work," Matt muttered to himself.
Matt was trying to think of what he was going to do next when Kelly
suddenly burst out of her room with a hand full of clothes, asking, "How
about these?"
"They look fine," Matt told her.
But Kelly stared at them for a moment and exclaimed, "I don't know..."
She turned and ran off again, coming back with a arm full of clothes.
"How about these...?"
Matt just rolled his eyes but told her that they were fine, but again
this didn't seem enough for Kelly who kept going back and forth with
clothes for the next twenty minutes. Matt quickly grew bored of this
and wondered how in the world his mom could possibly deal with Kelly
like that.
Eventually though, Kelly had decided on her clothes and got dressed,
with Matt letting out a sigh of relief that it was finally over. Now he
needed to figure out what to do next... or what he could do with Kelly
hanging around.
However it was at this time that the time limit on the spell finally
wore off, causing him to suddenly find himself back in his room and his
own body. He looked around, shaking his head in disbelief.
"Man that was weird," Matt told himself.
Then Matt left his room to see how his mom was reacting to the
possession. He was confident that she wouldn't remember a moment of it,
but he still wanted to see for himself.
"Oh no," his mom gasped. "Where did the time go...? I'm going to be
late..."
And with that she stared rushing around, trying to take care of her own
morning routine and get ready for work... things which Matt hadn't even
given any thought about. He just hoped that she wouldn't be late to
work because of him.
After a few minutes of watching his mom rush around, Matt turned and
went back to his bedroom. He pulled out the book, smiling at just how
interesting that last spell had been.
"Weird," he muttered to himself, "but interesting."
Matt shook his head faintly at the memory of the last hour, then picked
up the book again. He opened the page to the latest spell to appear and
smiled. If that last spell had been fun, he couldn't wait to try this
next one...
Part 7
Matt was excited about his new spell, especially as he thought about the
fun that he could have with it. He even kept opening the book and
glancing at it throughout the day, waiting for Luke to show up so that
he could finally cast it.
It wasn't until the middle of the afternoon that Luke finally showed up
and by then Matt's mom and sister had both returned home. But at least,
he thought with some relief, his dad had to work late and wouldn't be
home for awhile yet.
"That keeps it from getting too crowded around here," Matt told himself.
"So what's up?" Luke asked, his eyes going to the book. "What's the new
spell...?"
Matt just grinned at that. "Why don't I show you instead?"
"Okay," Luke said slowly.
"Good." Matt grinned even more broadly, opening the book to the latest
page. He snickered just a little bit as he looked it over, remembering
what he'd already planned to do with it. Then he began to the process
of reading the strange words on the page.
A moment later, Luke had a blank look pass over his face, just before he
suddenly collapsed to the ground. Matt looked at his friend, then
laughed as he heard a shriek from the next room.
"Oh yeah," Matt laughed.
Then Matt rushed into Kelly's room, laughing the look of stunned
disbelief on his sister's face. She was grabbing at her body in a
frantic desperation, then looked up at him with a look of pure venom.
"What the hell did you do to me?" Luke demanded from Kelly's body.
Matt just laughed again at his friend's expression. "That spell was a
lot like the one I used to take your mom's body... but it let me switch
other people's souls around instead of my own..."
"What the hell did you do to me?" Luke repeated, looking down at himself
and the fact that he was in the body of a nine year old girl.
"I turned you into Kelly," Matt said unnecessarily.
Luke just glared up at Matt, surprised by the sudden difference in their
heights. Matt looked so much larger to him now, though it was obviously
only because he was so much shorter.
"You turned me into a girl." Luke grimaced, less than pleased about the
situation.
"Yeah," Matt nodded with a grin. Then Matt smirked. "You know how you
once said that you wished I was your brother... Well, now I am..."
"But you turned me into your sister," Luke nearly yelled.
"Exactly," Matt agreed. "And try not to be so loud... Mom might think
me and Kelly are fighting or something..."
"Oh really?" Luke responded, a mischievous grin forming on his face.
Then he suddenly yelled out, "MOOOOOM! Matt's picking on me..."
"Hey," Matt protested.
Luke gave Matt a steady look, then suddenly ran out the bedroom door,
yelling, "Matt's picking on me..."
"You brat," Matt grimaced, knowing that his friend could get him into a
LOT of trouble that way.
Matt had no doubt that he couldn't just let Matt go ahead with what he
was doing or he'd be the one stuck grounded for a month. And all
because Luke had to get back at him by bringing his mom into things.
"Well," Matt grinned, "two can play that game..." And with that, he ran
back to his own room.
Luke had to fight back a grin as he put on a sad face and tried to look
as though he was crying. "Matt's being mean and picking on me," he told
Matt's mom, "he was hitting me and..."
But just then, Matt's mom had a strange expression on her face and she
grinned down. "Tell me more..."
Matt tried to keep a straight face as he stood there, listening to Luke
tell him about all of the horrible things that he had supposedly done.
It was really annoying Matt though as he realized just how much trouble
he would have gotten into if he hadn't used a spell to possess his own
mom and cut off Luke's plans.
"I can't believe that Matt would do such horrible things," Matt said
once Luke was finished with his spiel. "In fact, I don't. How dare you
tell lies to get your brother in trouble..."
"What?" Luke gasped in shock.
"You're grounded," Matt glared down at his friend, giving a stern look
just as he'd seen his mom do.
"WHAT?" Luke gulped, his eyes going wide.
"For a whole month," Matt snapped, "and you'll be lucky if I don't tan
your hide but good..." Then Matt smirked. "That'll teach you to try
framing me..."
Luke froze and stared up at Matt in disbelief, his eyes going wide in
realization. "Matt...?"
"Yeah," Matt glared at him, "I can't believe you'd try getting me in
trouble that way... All that I did was put you into Kelly's body for an
hour... Jeez, you could have gotten me grounded for life..."
"But you turned me into a girl." Luke grimaced, looking a little
sheepish.
"Yeah," Matt nodded, "and I turned into your mom... and my mom." He
looked down at himself, at his mom's breasts, which pushed out from his
chest. "And you wouldn't believe how creepy this is..."
"I'll bet," Luke responded, suddenly smirking up at Matt. "I can't
believe that you turned into your own mom..."
Matt shrugged a little uncomfortably. "I guess it's not much worse than
being your mom. Then again," he snickered, "I guess at the moment I am
your mom... and you're my daughter."
"That is just so weird," Luke muttered. It was a sentiment to which
Matt completely agreed.
"Sorry I switched you into Kelly without telling you," Matt sighed.
"But I had to try that spell out and thought I'd have some fun with
it..."
"Well I don't like it," Luke grimaced, "I don't like being a little
girl..."
"But you look so cute," Matt teased him.
Luke glared up at Matt, then said, "Well, change me back..."
"Why?" Matt asked him. "It's not like it's going to hurt anything to be
Kelly for a little while..."
"Well I'm going to change myself back then," Luke exclaimed as he
suddenly remembered how the previous spell worked. "You said that this
spell works the same way, so if I touch my real body..."
Matt stepped in front of Luke as he began to go towards the bedroom.
"Wait a bit," he said, "let's just stay like this until it wears off...
It's weird, but you've got to admit that it's kind of interesting
too..."
"I don't have to admit nothing," Luke grumbled. However he didn't make
another move towards the bedrooms or his own body.
After this, the two boys sat down and watched TV, making fun of the show
that was on and each other.
"Imagine if you were stuck as HER," Matt teased Luke, pointing to the
annoying little sister on one show who seemed to always end up getting
her due in the end. "Then you'd be the one who had a bucket full of
paint poured on your head..."
"Well imagine if you were her," Luke pointed out they TV mom, "then
you'd have a stupid husband and a couple kids to look out for..."
