Twins Part 1 - Seventh Grade

Well, actually, that had nothing to do with my homework assignment. My
seventh grade teacher had given us an assignment to write a two page story
about the most exciting thing that happened to each of us during the
summer between our sixth and seventh grades. I had been reading the Sunday
comics, Charlie Brown in particular, and that week's cartoon had Snoopy
sitting on the top of his doghouse writing a story that began with, "It
was a dark and stormy night .........." and I thought that sounded kind of
neat and so I was going to start my story that way. But Mom saw what I was
writing and told me in no uncertain terms that Ms. Harris would not be
amused if she found out that I had copied something from a newspaper -
even from the comics - something about "plagiarism" or something like
that. So then I started to write a story about how Wes Andrews had wet his
pants on the roller coaster ride at his birthday party - and Mom didn't
like that one either. So I just shoved the laptop over in front of her and
told her to write the stupid story herself, then. And that got me sent to
my room.
Actually, I think she felt bad about sending me to my room because she
came up an hour or so later and sat down on the bed next to me and we
talked about what would be "okay" things to write about and I ended up
writing a story about how my Little League team had made it to the
Division 8 semi-finals. The funny thing was, Ms. Harris hated the story
and gave me a low grade on it. I guess Ms. Harris doesn't like sports and
couldn't imagine how getting to the District 8 semi-finals could be at all
exciting. And that got Mom really pissed off and she went in and had a
talk with Ms. Harris after school the next day. They made me stand in the
hallway outside of the classroom and shut the door but I could hear Mom
yelling at Ms. Harris and when she came out about twenty minutes later and
she handed me my story and I could see that the D had been crossed out and
replaced by a B. I think Mom was mad that it didn't get raised all the way
to an A, but heck, a B was fine with me.
Mom can be pretty stubborn about things at times and I've found that it's
better not to argue with her. Sometimes when I don't argue she'll cool
down after awhile and we'll reach some sort of compromise position. Well,
except on one subject - religion. There's no give with Mom in that area.
Like, most of my other friends don't go to church, and those that do only
go a couple of times a year - mostly at Christmas and Easter. But no, we
have to go every Sunday - and in addition to sitting through the boring
sermons, I had to go to a Children's Religious Education Class after the
regular service - and most of the other kids in the class are girls -
yuck! Well, I don't mean that girls are yucky - it's just that they want
to talk about girl stuff all the time so whenever there's a break in the
class all I hear about are styles and which boys are cute and that kind of
thing - no sports talk at all.
Eleven of my friends were playing baseball in front of my house yesterday.
Well, not a "real" game of baseball but as close as we could get
considering that there were only twelve of us and since our house is on a
cul-de-sac, the turnaround at the end that we were playing on was smaller
than the regulation field that we played on in Little League. But it was
convenient and there wasn't much traffic on the street so we didn't have
to interrupt our playing very often. Oh, one other thing that wasn't
regulation was the ball. After one unfortunate incident that cost our
parents close to $200 to replace a front window in one of the houses on
the turnaround, we played with a ball that looked pretty much like a
regular baseball but which was lighter and a little softer. And that was a
good thing for me because, like, I guess I wasn't paying close enough
attention or something, but I was pitching and Mark hit the ball straight
toward me and I didn't move fast enough and it hit me square on the left
side of the chest. Man, if we'd been using a regular ball I would have had
a major problem but as it was it just knocked the wind out of me for a
minute and the left side of my chest was a little sore when I went to bed
that night. Before I pulled on my pajama tops I looked at my chest but it
wasn't bruised or anything. My left nipple looked as though it might have
been just a little swollen but then I looked over at my right nipple and
that looked pretty much the same as my left nipple so I didn't worry about
it. And when I woke up the next morning the soreness was gone.
There are a couple of girls in my class that I think are kind of cute and
I had been thinking about asking one of them if they'd like to go to a
movie with me or something. But that would be a real "date" and I'd never
gone on one before and I was kind of nervous about just calling one of
them up and asking them. Like, what if they laughed at me or said "no."
During lunch one day the group of my friends sitting at the same table got
to talking about which girls were cute, and which were stuck-up, and which
were "going steady" with someone else.
"When you going to ask Allison out, Alex?" one of them asked me. "I know
you like her, like, you're always staring at her."
I just blushed, and mumbled something, and stared down at the plate of
whatever mess the cafeteria was serving that day.
Actually though, the school did offer a lot of activities outside of the
regular school hours like pizza parties, and "dances" (well, held in the
gym and with sucky music, but still a "dance"), and bowling parties and
stuff like that and I started going to most of these activities and was
surprised to find that Alison went to a lot of them too. And I was even
more surprised to find that I could usually hang out with her and that she
had a really funny sense of humor (for a girl, that is), and that she was,
like, well, just fun to be with. So even though Allison and I weren't
officially "dating", by the end of seventh grade we were spending some
time together almost every week.
By the end of the school year, I noticed that my nipples were still
swollen - and more than they had been when I got hit by the ball.
Actually, it wasn't the nipples so much as the area that surrounded them.
I did some searching on the internet and found that area is called the
"aureola." Well, whatever it's called, mine have turned a light pink color
and are maybe an inch across and puff out from the rest of my chest by
about a half inch. I mean, that as long as those swellings don't get any
bigger they're not that bothersome. And during the summer I noticed that
some of the other guys have puffy areas on their chest in the same general
area as mine. I did notice that mine are more sensitive than they used to
be. Like, I've got a couple of knit shirts that I wear whenever I have to
dress up in the summer and one of them has a rougher fabric than the
other. Man, the first time I put that shirt on within fifteen minutes my
nipples (or "aureola", or whatever the fuck they're called) was so red and
irritated that I had to take that shirt off and replace it with the one
with smoother fabric.
One thing that was different between the sixth and seventh grades was
that, well, that I was playing with myself a lot more now. Oh come on, you
know what I'm talking about - jerking off, masturbating, etc., etc. Now
for as long as I could remember it had always felt good to touch myself
down there. And I remember that even as a little kid whenever Mom saw me
touching myself - like I'd be watching TV, and maybe scratching myself -
she'd say something like, "Alex, don't do that or it will fall off."
I think the first time she said that I was horrified and began to cry, but
eventually I realized that she was just telling me not to do it in public.
Like, through about the sixth grade while it felt good to touch myself
down there, I didn't have a lot to touch - it was maybe only a little more
than an inch or so in length. But by the beginning of the seventh grade it

The school has a requirement that every student has to have a physical

Mom asked me how the exam went (guess the doctors think the kids will be

"It's not what you did, it's that word you used. You know I won't have you
using language like that. No TV for you tonight," she said. Man, was I

Mom also had me go to the barber shop for my back-to-school haircut. Now,
haircuts aren't my favorite activity and in fact it had been a year since
I had last been in a barber shop so my hair was almost shoulder length and
it did look pretty shaggy - but so what. But Mom stood firm so I headed
off to the Barber Shop - and walked right past it when I didn't recognize
it. I guess that sometime during the last year it had closed and reopened
as "Cindy's Unisex Hair Styling." I wasn't sure about going in to a place
like that but there were a couple of other guys in there so I went in and
after about a fifteen minute wait was called over to a vacant chair.
"So, what do you want to have done today?" the lady asked me. I just
shrugged my shoulders and said, "A trim, or whatever", and she got to
work. Didn't take too long and as I looked in the mirror when she was done
my hair did look better even though the style she had chosen was a little
too "girlie" for me - like, she had trimmed it so that in the front it
ended just over my eyes and then came down in bangs almost to my shoulders
on either side. But what the heck, as long as it got Mom off my case.
