SRU - The Prom Date "I don't believe this!" said Paul as he arrived at his usual table to eat his dinner. "Don't believe what?" asked his best mate, Mark. "I've just asked Yvonne to go to the prom with me and she told me to get lost!" replied Paul. Paul had had his eyes on Yvonne for ages. Yvonne was one of the hottest looking girls in their year, her light auburn hair fell below her shoulders and her lips were begging to be kissed. "Oh, I'm sorry," said Mark, feeling sorry for Paul. "So, who are you going to ask now?" Paul just looked down at his dinner, stabbing away at his fries with his fork. "I don't know. I've finally managed to pluck up enough courage to ask her, and well, it's over!" "Don't panic. Theres bound to be a girl who'll say yes. Don't give up," said Mark, giving Paul a consoling glance. "I suppose so," he sighed. "You're right Mark, I should just pick myself up from this and ask someone else." Paul was no nerd nor jock. How he failed thus far to get a girls attention was maybe down to his obsession with Yvonne. Maybe her snubbing him was a good thing, he could now advertise himself as available. Mark had been his best friend for the past few years. They were in the same class and shared many interests. Paul was just a tad jealous at the moment for Mark had found a date for the prom whereas he hadn't. "How come you got lucky?" he asked Mark. "I just went up and asked her," replied Mark. Mark had managed to get a nice looking blonde called Jennifer to be his date. "If you're so good with girls, why not ask one to go out with me?" he asked Mark. "Still no luck?" asked Mark. Paul shook his head. "Okay, I'll ask some for you. But no guarentees," replied Mark. "Thanks mate." Mark did try to get a date for Paul but was having no luck either. Most were already taken. "Why not?" he asked one girl. "No offense, but Paul isn't my type," she replied loftily. "Stuck up bitch!" he muttered as he turn his back on her. Paul was still trying too, but with just a week to go, he couldn't find a girl. Mark had even resorted to asking his own date, Jennifer for help. "Sorry Mark, but my friends have already got dates. I appreciate what you are doing for Paul. Sorry I can't be any help," she replied. * * * Mark wondered around town that weekend trying to think of a solution. He felt guilty about having a date while Paul didn't. "It's gonna take something like magic to get Paul a date at this rate!" he thought to himself. Then, just as he was passing a row of shops: "Spells R Us? A magic shop - maybe the answer lies in here!" he thought. With that, he went in. "Good morning!" came a voice. "Another customer?" "Just come out of the bath?" said Mark upon seeing the old man behind the counter. "Oh, this?" he pointed at his bath robes. "I just find them comfortable. Now, how can I help you, young sir?" "Well, I'm here on behalf of my friend. He needs a prom date and with the luck he and myself are having, I thought it would take magic to solve the problem," explained Mark. "Oh, magic can be a solution," said the old man. "You want to help your friend or maybe yourself too?" "No, just my friend. I'm ok, no help needed on my account," said Mark. "Well, if you insist. I thought you might actually, but whatever," said the old man. He went to a shelf and retrieved a bottle. "Take this to your friend and have him drink it on the night of the prom. His date will show up soon after." Mark looked at the bottle with wonder. "He just has to drink it and a girl will magically appear?" "Yes, I believe so," said the old man. "Well, I hope it works," said Mark, paying the old man for the bottle and heading out. * * * He found Paul as usual on the Monday and gave him the bottle during lunch. "You must be out of your mind?" he said. "I'm not into this hocus pocus stuff. Leave that for October 31st." "But if it does work and you get your dream date?" remarked Mark. "If you say so, but if its fake, then I'm going to make you pay." Mark felt a little tense, heading for the prom. He hoped that this worked for his sake and for Paul's. He was meeting Jennifer there, but decided to find Paul first. Paul was dressed in what was his best suit, hoping to impress the date that was promised. "Got the bottle?" asked Mark. "Yep, and I hope it works. Bottoms up," he replied, and unscrewing the cap, downed the contents in one. "Not a bad taste. Hopefully the girl is just as nice." "Well, I'll be seeing you. Got to find Jenny," said Mark. Mark headed towards the carpark, where he had agreed to meet her. He had barely reached the carpark when he suddenly felt odd. "I feel strange," he said, holding his stomach, his vison suddenly blurry. He looked at his hands and noticed the nails growing longer. The fingers were also becoming more slender. "What the fuck!" he exclaimed. He noticed that his black hair was growing out too. He headed for the nearby copse and hid while he tried to figure out what was happening. He watched as his clothes also started to change: his pants were lengthening, covering his feet, then the legs merged into a lengthy skirt. The light was dim with the trees casting shadows, but he knew that the skirt had also changed to a lighter color. His shirt changed next, changing color to match the skirt and merging with it. The sleeves vanished and his shoulders were suddenly bare: he was now wearing a strapless dress. A bra had also appeared underneath to support his newly formed breasts. His jacket now changed, to a velvet shoulder warmer. His bow tie had become a silver necklace. He couldn't fail to notice his shoes were now high heeled. The finishing touch was his shoulder length hair magically putting itself into an updo. He was horror struck. He felt for something and found it gone. He broke down into tears. While crouching, he noticed a purse on the ground. "Who's crying?" came a girl's voice. Mark looked around for the voice and saw Jennifer approaching him. "Marcia? That you?" she said. "What's the matter?" "Marcia?" said Mark in surprise, almost choking at the sound of his voice. "Why, what else do I call you?" asked Jennifer. "Whats up? Afraid that Paul won't like you?" Mark looked at her in bewilderment. "Lets go to the restroom and get you sorted out. I doubt Paul wants to see you crying," she added. Mark was in shock but curious all the same. He had become Paul's date?! He followed Jennifer out of the trees and towards the school building. "Wow, you look stunning!" said Jennifer, as they came into the light. Mark was keen to see himself. When the they both arrived at the ladies toilets, they found it already full, with girls all making last ditch adjustments to their hair and make-up. Mark finally got around to getting a mirror to look in. He felt odd being in a room full of girls, in a place where boys were prohibited, but he looked at his face in awe. The face he saw was not too unlike his own and but definitely a girls face. His ebony black hair shone, pinned up in an attractive updo. Pearl drop earrings hung from his ears. His lips were a rich cherry red, matching the color on his long manicured nails. His strapless dress was light blue and shimmered in the light. "Well, are you going to dry your tears?" asked Jennifer, who was now standing beside him, touching up her own make-up. Mark just glanced at her and opened up the purse he now had. He took out some tissue paper and wiped away the tears. He then found some mascara and touched up his eyelashes in a way that suggested he had been doing it for ages. "Paul is going to love you. That dress is just beautiful!" continued Jennifer. "Thanks," said Mark. "Who are you dating tonight?" "Darren of course!" remarked Jennifer. "Told you last week. Talking of which, I need to find him!" She left Mark alone in the toilets. He couldn't believe what was happening. "I'm Paul's date, Jennifer is now my best friend and is now under the understanding I've been a girl since birth! Non of this was in the plan!" he thought to himself. "Did that shopkeeper know about this? He asked me if I wanted help but I refused it. Did he know how I feel about myself?" Mark went back to the mirror and touched up his lipstick. "Do I want to do this?" he thought. "For Paul's sake, yes." * * * Paul was waiting impatiently by the school entrance. It had been 20 minutes since he had taken the potion and his faith in magic was growing thin. "You're waiting for me?" came a voice. Paul turned to see a beautiful girl with ebony hair in a light blue dress. "And you are?" he asked. "I'm Marcia, and I'm your date for the prom!" she smiled. "Wow, that stuff did work. Marcia, you say? My name is Paul Baker and I have to say, you look amazing!" "Why thank you," said Marcia. Mark had decided to keep his true identity secret. "Shall we go in then?" asked Paul. Offering his hand. "Of course," said Marcia, taking his hand and allowing him to escort her in. In reality, she was a bag of nerves. She was worried that something may go wrong. At least for now, nothing had. Paul may not have had a girlfriend till now, but he knew how to treat one. He lead her to a free table and pulled a chair out for her before going to get her a drink from the refreshment table. When he returned, he sat down beside her. "So, where are you from?" he asked her. "Out of town. Just visiting for the weekend!" said Marcia quickly, hoping that the next question would be easier. "Oh well, I hope I can make it all the more special for you!" he added with a smile. "Why, thank you," said Marcia with a smile. She hoped that it would be nothing more. "Care to dance?" he then said, once they had finished their drinks. "I'm not that good, mind you," she replied. "Same here, so we're both in the same boat. I'll just keep it simple," he smiled. He lead her to the dance floor, and facing her, put his arms around her waist. She responded by holding his shoulders. "You still nervous?" he asked. "As I said, I've never danced before," she replied. She daren't say what was really making her nervous. "You seem to be doing fine," he smiled. "Beginners luck," she smiled back. For a split second, their eyes met and she felt more nervous. She shrugged it off and let him continue to lead her. After a third piece of music ended, Paul took her over to the buffet table to get something to eat. She noticed that he had started searching the crowd for someone. "Who are you looking for?" she asked, suspecting she already knew. "Just a friend. I wanted a quick word with him but can't seem to see him," he said. "He's sure to turn up. He probably doesn't want to be disturbed," she said. "Maybe. It can wait," he said at last. As they sat eating their food, he began to talk again. "I woudn't mind seeing you again. Any chance of it happening?" "I don't know. It would be nice. We may meet again one day," she replied. "I am enjoying your company!" "Shall we dance again? You seem to be getting the hang of it," he smiled. He put his hand on hers. She felt a shiver down her spine. "I need to go and touch up my make-up!" she said suddenly, getting up. She quickly headed for the ladies toilets and locked herself in a cubicle. "Oh my God! What is happening? I'm going to pieces! I'm not a girl, but a boy! I just hope this is a Cinderella story and everything is back to normal tomorrow!" she thought to herself. "I'm just doing this for Paul. To make his night happy, to make him happy. What am I thinking?!" Feeling composed once more, she returned to the hall. "Done?" said Paul. "Yes, I'm done," she answered. "Ready to take the floor again?" he added. She took his hand and soon was dancing once more with him. She felt comfortable being held by him and this made her nervous. "I hope you don't mind me saying, but you are one beautiful young woman," he said to her. "And you're not bad looking yourself," she blushed. She suddenly felt butterflies in her stomach as he leant towards her. She couldn't help herself as his lips met hers. Before realising it, she was kissing him back. When their lips parted, she continued to look into his eyes. She was confused, horrified by kissing her best friend, yet also enjoying it. They continued to dance and Marcia was losing herself to him. The boy half of her felt repulsed and yet the girl half of her was loving every minute. Paul's manly embrace made her feel protected, wanted. * * * Thus when the time to leave came, Marcia allowed him to kiss her once more. "I'll walk you home," he said "No, its okay. I'll manage," she replied, not wanting him to see where she lived. He knew where Mark lived. But Paul was insistant and she agreed to let him walk her to the top of her street. Another kiss marked their parting and she made her way home. She looked down at herself and wondered what her parents would think, seeing her like this. She went in the house and went straight upstairs. "That you dear?" she heard Mark's mother call. "Yes," said Marcia in a hurry. She went into her room and shut the door. Not bothering about the light, she took off the dress and all then went straight to bed. * * * Paul awoke next morning still thinking about Marcia. He was keen to tell Mark about how the potion had worked and given him a beautiful date. He went down and had breakfast before telling his parents that he was going to see Mark. Mark awoke that morning hoping that the evening before had been a dream. He got up and walked across the room, not caring about the dress lying there on the floor. He brushed a few strands of hair from his face and went to the mirror. He could have been Snow White at that moment, for his hair was still full and long and past his shoulders. His face was pale and was covered with lipstick and mascara, smudged heavily during the night. He was still Marcia! "OH FUCK!" she shouted, not caring that anyone could hear her. "Oh, you're awake sweetheart," said her mother from behind the door. "But please, language! I see you forgot to take your make-up off. And please put some clothes on dear." Marcia was puzzled further by this. Her mom had failed to notice that her son was now a girl. He turned to look at his room. He hadn't noticed it at first, but it was clear it was a girls room now. The walls were pink and a wardrobe and dressing table adorned the side opposite the window. The walls were covered in posters of music bands and teenage movie stars. "I'm still a girl! This is a big problem!" she thought to herself. Even so, she got dressed in some clothes from her wardrobe: some pants and a t-shirt. She went to the bathroom to remove the make-up and wash before going to have breakfast. Paul arrived at Mark's house an hour later. His mother came to the door. "Hi Mrs Talbot, is Mark here?" he said. "Mark?" she replied. "Yes, Mark. I'm his best friend Paul," said Paul. "Well, you're mistaken. I have no son called Mark," she said. "I beg your parden?" said Paul. "But I've been here loads of times to meet him. Where is he?" "I don't have a son, just a daughter called Marcia!" she responded. "Marcia?!" said Paul looking puzzled. It was at that moment that Marcia came to the door. "Marcia? What's going on here? This is your house?" said Paul who was now utterly puzzled. "Mom, can I speak to him in private?" asked Marcia. She turned to Paul. "Can we walk a while?" "Sure, but I want to know what's going on?!" said Paul, sounding frustrated. "I want to know too," explained Marcia. "What do you mean?" asked Paul She stopped to look at him. "I don't know how to explain this, but, that potion you took yesterday to get me? I bought it, I'm Mark." Paul just stared at her. "You what?" he said, half laughing. "It's true. I am Mark. You have to believe me!" she said. "You are Mark? Tell me this is a joke," he said. "It's not a joke. I didn't ask for this but now everyone, including my own parents, think I'm Marcia." "If this is true, why didn't you say so last night?" asked Paul. "I didn't want to ruin your night. If I had told you, in front of everyone, what would have happened? I just wanted you to have a good time," she replied. "So, I find out now. What about your true date?" he asked. "Jennifer went with Darren. I'm apparently her best friend now. She told me I was dating you as though it been arranged weeks ago." "She told you?" asked Paul. "So you didn't know you were my date?" "I suppose I guessed. I didn't know this would happen." They had arrived in the park and found a bench to continue their talk. "So, when you bought that potion, you didn't know this would happen?" asked Paul. "No, I didn't. The shopkeeper didn't say anythin, but he did offer to help me," she replied. "Help you in what way?" added Paul. "He didn't say. I suppose he did after all," she sighed. "How? He turned you into a girl!" said Paul. "I know, but thats it. I've wanted to be a girl for ages." "You what?! After all we've been through together, you now tell me this?" "Yes, I'm sorry it had to come out this way. I didn't want to hurt you, I just wanted to make sure you had a good time." "So, this explains why you were nervous?" he said. "Yes, I shouldn't have kissed you. It was wrong, yet I don't know. I'm so confused!" "When you kissed me, you were clearly enjoying it. You didn't think it wrong at the time," said Paul. "I did. I can't say anymore," she said, tears now running down her cheeks. "You've fallen in love with me, haven't you?" he asked. She just nodded. Paul just paused to think for a moment. "Paul, I'm your best friend, not your girlfriend. I hope you find a real girlfriend." "Why should I look for a girlfriend when I already have one: you," he replied. "What are you saying?" she asked. "I want you as a girlfriend. You've admitted you like yourself better this way. Sure, I'll miss Mark, but I think I'll miss Marcia more," he said, and with that, he leant in and kissed her. "You love me?" she replied. "Yes, that's what I'm saying," he replied. She leant in and kissed him again. "I think I can cope with that," she added. "So, want to go out later?" he asked. "Sure, but I'll need to go home first," she said. "Your parents needn't know," he added. "I think its right they do, but besides, I've still got my slippers on!" The End

SRU Roadhouse

SRU: The Roadhouse by Corvus corax (Raven) Comma and Asterix looked at each other and sighed. Both of the deliverymen were hot, sweaty and very, very tired. On days like today, when it was 100 degrees in the shade, with 90 % humidity, it didn't pay to be moving around large pieces of magical equipment. Asterix continued to gaze over from the passenger seat of the SRU van to Comma, who was behind the wheel. He slumped down a little further into his seat. "Man! I sure could use...

Miss Jamieson asked. She was an older lady with a kind smile and seemed genuinely concerned for Ben. Ben looked at her with a downcast look. "I...

SRU Friends are Thicker than Wishes

Here's my SRU anniversary story that I mentioned last week. I had hoped to have it ready for the October 8 anniversary, but fell a little short. Either that or I got a little longwinded ... again. This story is a little different from the others as I've written in the SRU universe in that its also a prequel of sorts to one of my non-SRU stories posted last month. It didn't start out that way, but given some of the characters I needed for this, I think it worked out better. You...

My Prom Date

It had been a hard night for me. I had been up until almost three hitting the books to get ready for exams. I was sitting at the breakfast bar just off the kitchen when my mother slid a plate of bacon and eggs in front of me and asked, "So honey, have you got a date for the prom yet?" "No mom, I'm not going." "Not going? You have to honey, it is part of the experience." "I just don't want to go." "Why not honey, what's wrong?" Normally I would have said nothing was wrong and...

Our Daughter's Prom Date By Daphne Xu I'd just finished combing our daughter Cherry's hair, parting her hair on her left side, and now I stood back from her, hands on her shoulders. George Bailey, a tall thirty year old man, virtually ignored the holiday music playing on the public address speakers as he moved from store to store in the large shopping mall in a vain search for a "Trixi" doll. He passed within feet of a very beautiful, very large and very ornate Christmas tree without even noticing it. He was a man on a desperate search for a promised gift for his ten...

SRU S H A

This tale continues the adventures of Mark and Susan after their transformation in 'SRU: Better Than Plastic'. Although the story and SHA are fictional, a real- life celebrity appears without her knowledge or consent, and possibly inaccurate information. Please do NOT discuss this with her if you should happen to know her. Without further ado, here is: S. H. A. By Roy Del Frink Mark and Susan were distraught with the news. They were stuck as hermaphrodites, and both were...

SRU High School Reunion

This is written for the third anniversary of the SRU universe. It's a little late, but somethings can't be helped. The first story specifically designated as SRU (although I spelled it all out the first couple of posts) was posted to the TSA-TALK mailing list on October 8, 1996. At first, I wasn't sure if I would have the time to write an anniversary story. There was the crossover series with the Altered Fates universe to consider, although that project now looks dead. And I didn't...

SRU Wizards Guest

It's been a while since I did an SRU story and I've missed the anniversary of its creation. This is a sort of sidebar to the SRU-AF crossover I did a while back. That story was the supposedly the beginning of a collaborative collection, but it failed. Maybe this story will help revive it. Or maybe it will just drive another nail into its coffin. But then, I never received much in the way of review one way or the other. Oh well. Those who archive stories freely may do so,...

Frank didn't have very good people skills and many people he had met and associated with hated him. SRU Hose

SRU Hose By WEKM Jon was wandering about the mall while his wife Joanne was getting her hair done. Now Jon knew the mall fairly well and had an excellent sense of direction. He prided himself on it. He also had an uncanny memory for the placement of stores in malls as well. He could probably find his way to any shop in any mall he had ever been to weather he had been in the shop or not. He just seemed to be able to see the malls in his head, a trait that his wife had found either...

SRU Stargirls Visit

Authors Notes: The mighty SRU universe belongs to Bill Hart, whom I gladly tip my bonnet to in the hopes I'm not breaking anything here. This story contains a few words not seen on TV as well as an object PC people and people with aversion to sexual items would do well to avoid. This is just a piece of fluff filler before I begin my story universe. Stargirl's reply as she walks out the SRU door I've taken from another SRU story, though I don't remember which one. Also, The...

SRU Oldtimer part 2 Second Chances

Intro: Three years ago Pretzelgirl wrote a story called "oldtimer in the SRU universe. It was probably one of the best SRU stories written except for the ending. My apologies if I don't do justice to her work. SRU Oldtimer part 2: Second Chances By Reality Check 'She gasped in abject horror at gnarled, withered hands still sporting long bright pink nails. Her chin widened, sprouting a cracked, weedy, sun-reddened texture. The candy-striper's petite nose exploded into a ruddy,...

Prom Date

Dan always enjoyed sleeping late on Saturday mornings. As he relaxed in bed, the sun beaming through his window he recalled Friday night at the mall with his best friend Alex. The two had stumbled across a shop of oddities. A shop neither had seen in the mall before, though from the look the shop had been there forever. With little else to do Dan and Alex chatted with the scruffy old shop owner. About nothing much, daily life, though both were shocked when he scoffed, that neither...

Prom Date

My senior prom was the most memorable night of my life. My date, Caitlyn, was stunning. She is nearly 6’ tall, with flowing auburn hair, all natural. Looking at the freckles dotting her body was enough to be certain, but the little red bush was confirmation. She kept it mostly shaved because of her swimming, but left just enough curls on top to emphasize the match. She swam varsity and all that training gave her an athletic, lean frame along with a small firm ass. She had a fairly flat chest,...

SRU Made for Each Other

SRU: MADE FOR EACH OTHER by Roy Del Frink Leland Welker was strolling through the mall one day when he saw a strange sight. It was an old-fashioned wooden shop called "Spells R Us". He was bored, so he decided to enter on a whim. Leland couldn't believe all the junk in there, and didn't understand what he would do in a place like this. Just then he noticed a short old man behind the counter. He looked at least eighty years old, and he wore an old crimson bathrobe. He asked the...

SRU The Contract

Spells-R-Us & The Contract by Bad Irving Standard disclaimer, if under 18 do not read this tale. Actually this disclaimer is just a chance to give some credit, where credit is due. The story "The Reviewer from Hell" by Happyguy was the starting idea for the creation of this story. It is with Happyguy's permission that I take his concept and proceed with my own story. The characters in this story are not a carry over from Happyguy's tale, but, the Spells-R-Us (SRU) characters...

SRU The Retrun fo the Love Doll

SRU: The Return of the Love Doll By Ran Dandel The Riding Club of the University was one of its most exclusive organizations. It was like a non-resident fraternity. The members gathered there to meet and socialize, and to build their skills at networking. The exclusivity was guaranteed because only the wealthiest students in good standing in their respective cities' Society could become members. Members who graduated were destined to wield great power in whatever ...

SRU The Thin Line of Love

Author's Note: This story is a continuation of my previous SRU story entitled "The Love Hate Rule". If you haven't read that, it may help before you read this one, but it is not necessary. SRU The Good Wifes Guide

SRU: The Good Wifes Guide. by Darkside --------------------------- This contains actual extracts from a Home Economics textbook printed in the early 60s. It did the rounds at work a while ago and it just begged to have a story written around it. This is my one and only sojourn into the 'Spell R Us' universe. So I hope you all like it. As an experiment, I've deliberately left much to the imagination. This is more of a covert TG story than most. At was also an experiment in that I...

SRU: The Way of the Manga By Melissa Virus Copyright 2000 Matt and Jason headed into the mall. Every Tuesday they went to Cedar Oaks Mall to pick up the latest issues of their favorite comics at Skanky's Comic and Video; today was especially exciting because a Class of Ninja High School video Jason had special-ordered was supposed to be coming in. SRU The Pardon

It may be added to other free archives as long as it does not violate Bill Hart's strictures on the use of his characters or my own notice at the bottom of the story. SRU The Shop Keeper

Author's note: I've always liked the SRU stories. This is my contribution. I hope you like it. LS SRU - The Shop Keeper By Lord Stormbringer "Damn, look at all that lost business," Tony said as he looked out of his storefront in the mall. Shoppers were bumping into each other in their hurry past his clothing store. He turned around and surveyed the few women shoppers comparing clothes. He went into the office at the back with the two-way glass window. Tom was reading a girly...

SRU The Big Mall

SRU: The Big Mall Edmonton isnt the first place you think of when you think "tourist destination" But there is one site that brings people from all over the world to see it - The Big Mall. Its real name is West Edmonton Mall, but nobody calls it that. Its always just been - The Big Mall. At one time, it was the biggest in the world, and I think its still in the top three. I'm not sure if words do it justice, but the place is ... HUGE. It has a rollercoaster, an enormous wave pool, ...

Shirley was sixteen and had transferred into the adjoining St. Mary's School for Girls as a...

SRU An Error in Application

Warning: This story contains adult material. SRU: An Error in Application by Fringold Sixfingers Lyle Green had heard several rumors about the 'Spells R Us' shop in the mall. Sense he did not believe in magic, he took the stories as tells of fancy. There was one rumor he was not about to ignore. The best place to buy computer hardware was SRU. Lyle could use an upgrade to keep him competitive. Soon he was outside the shop. Not at all what he was expecting. The store looked more...

SRU Pantyhose

SRU: PANTYHOSE BY PAUL G. JUTRAS "Why can't I wear clothes like that." Was the thought that often ran through Chris's mind. Chris was a pleasant twenty-two year old. Anyone who looked at him would think he was a normal boy checking out girls. What he was looking at was the clothes they had on. Clothes he wish he could have on.
