The reflection in my mirror was that of a cute young cheerleader, with

In other words, I looked like a thousand other cute blonde
cheerleaders. I practiced my most provocatively innocent smile, the one
I would show off to David at school today.
Nobody who didn't already know what had happened to me could possibly
guess that only five months earlier I was a relatively normal high
school boy. I have held out hope for almost that entire time that I
would somehow return to my previous form, a hope that had faded with
time. The question I kept asking myself was, deep in my heart, was it
all a lie? Had I somehow wanted this change to happen? Did I let Chloe
and her friends bully me into acting and dressing so girly because it
was easier than taking responsibility for who I was becoming?
I wasn't sure about any of it. I've never really been sure of who I am,
or who I'll become.
The coming week was going to be a tough one. Cheer practice everyday.
Plus, I'm on my own, with my mother either away or missing. I can't
tell anyone, and I don't have any relatives to turn to.
Add to that fact that, for the first time I wouldn't have Chloe and her
friends guiding my actions with mind bombs telling me how to act, or
taking over my body completely. It was all up to me.
Even so, Chloe had still pretty much dictated my school life during the
upcoming homecoming week. She had even insisted that I flirt with her
older brother and go to the homecoming dance with him. But he's a nice
enough guy, and a hell of a good kisser, so it shouldn't be too
unpleasant. In fact, if I'm truthful with myself, I'm kind of looking
forward to it. Kind of. Maybe.
Mother's letter said to keep on with my school life and only practice
magic at home until she contacted me about what to do next. I wish I
knew she was safe. My nightmares suggest that she is being held against
her will. But where?
Before I headed off to school, I carefully placed her letter, her spell
books, and the ceremonial dagger back in the grey box. In seconds the
lid melded into the box making it impossible to open. Then I placed it
back in the secret compartment of the bookcase. That closed, and the
little grey mouse scurried out and up to the top of the bookcase
transforming back into a ceramic knick knack. All according to the
instructions in mom's letter. The only thing that didn't go back in the
box was the gold and silver braided ring on my finger. She said it
would warn me when magic was present, or used against me. But honestly,
I didn't know many people who could actually do magic besides my
mother. I wasn't sure how much Chloe and her friends could actually do-
besides practically controlling my life. And that was due to
Aphrodite's temper tantrum when I asked her to change me back. For some
reason, it seemed like she wanted me to stay like this.
At school, before my first class, I 'accidently' bumped into David,
Chloe's brother.
"Oh, hey," I said, acting surprised.
"Andi? I never see you in this hall. You lost?"
Jesus, he seemed tall since I changed. I bit my lip and tried to look
embarrassed. "No, actually I just thought -"
He looked a bit flustered which was super cute. "Well, this is great.
Can I walk you to your next class?"
"Sure, I'd really like that. Too tell the truth I was kind of hoping
you would."
He grinned "Hey, the homecoming dance is this Saturday." As if I didn't
know. I expected him to follow that up, but he stayed quiet. I guessed
the ball was in my court. "So who are you going with? " I asked super
casually.
"Well, nobody actually. I was kind of hoping - well, do you have a
date?"
This was it. I shook my head.
"Would you -"
Unfortunately, the question was interrupted by Annabel, a gorgeous
redhead who seemed to think David was her personal property. "David, I
can't get this stupid computer program to work, and it's due at the
beginning of class. Can you -"
He looked at me then back at her then back at me. "Look, I'll catch you
later" he said to me.
"Yeah, maybe after class," I gave him the smile I practiced just for
him. Annabel glared at me when he couldn't see. I just played innocent.
Damn. So close.
As I headed to my first period class, I suddenly became aware that
someone else was walking next to me. It was Joy, a trans-girl with long
dark brunette hair, who also towers at least five inches above me. She
was wearing a beautiful blue and white print dress and a blue stone
necklace.
"You're Andi, aren't you," she asked.
"Yeah, and you're Joy, right?"
She didn't answer me. Instead she said in a voice devoid of any true
emotion "I hate you."
Wow, I wasn't expecting that. "Why would you say that? You don't even
know me."
"No," she answered, "but I know who you are. And it's not fair."
I suppose I should have understood why she would say that, but
truthfully I was totally taken off guard.
"I mean just look at you," she said, "and look at me."How is it fair? I
hate my body. My parents won't even allow me to start HRT for another
year."
"I didn't ask for this to happen," I responded defensively, then to
make her feel better I said "and you're pretty. I love that dress." We
continued down the hall in awkward silence.
"Shit," she whispered, "turn around quick."
I looked down the hall at what had her spooked. It was Kyle and Kevin,
the twin bullies and it was apparent they were looking for trouble. Joy
had already turned around and was headed in the opposite direction.
"Hey Joy, how they hanging?" Kyle yelled, running to get ahead of her.
"How about a little kiss?"
"Leave her alone," I yelled. A small crowd had begun to gather around
us.
"Or what?" Kevin sneered, "You gonna run crying to your mama? Hey, you
know what would be hot? If you two kissed. Oh man, wouldn't that be
something? What do you think Kyle?"
"Yeah, that would be totally something," he answered, "Come on girls.
Do it. For us."
Kyle pushed Joy towards me, and Kevin grabbed me from behind, pinning
my arms. I tried to remember one of the spells I'd been practicing.
Maybe the one meant to stun another person, but I had never tried it on
anyone and I wasn't totally sure what would happen. I started to say
the words my mother had written in her book. I felt the energies
building up inside me getting ready to explode. Then I remembered my
mother's warning not to do magic outside the house. It was important,
she said, to wait until we were together, or there could be serious
unforeseen consequences. Like what, I wondered? What was I learning it
for if I couldn't use it when I needed it? Shit. There had to be
something I could do to fight back.
Finally I rammed my head backwards and upwards catching Kevin's chin
and smashing his head against the locker behind him. He let me go in
surprise.
Joy took the opportunity to kick Kyle in the nuts. Then a couple of
students pushed them both away from us, telling them they were acting
like jerks and they better back off. The look in the twins' eyes was
pure evil. I knew those guys were trouble but I had never seen them
like this. It was like they possessed.
"Both you freaks are going to get it," Kyle yelled. But by then several
teachers had come out of their rooms.
What happened next is kind of a blur, but suffice to say I soon found
myself in the main office with an administrator telling me that I was
probably going to be suspended for fighting in school.
"Plus," she added, "you probably won't be allowed to engage in any
homecoming activities." I knew that wasn't going to make Chloe very
happy with me.
I looked around realizing I was the only student in the office. "Where
are the others?" I asked. I didn't get an answer and was left waiting
for some final decision on my fate for almost an hour. As I waited, I
felt several mind bombs that I forced myself to ignore. My phone buzzed
constantly with text messages from Chloe and the other members of the
cheer squad, asking what was happening. Everybody knew about the
incident already and I told them that other than that I had no idea
what was going to happen. They all expressed support, which made me
feel good. Chloe said they were organizing a protest in case either Joy
or I got suspended.
I also became aware that the braided ring I was wearing was hot, and
vibrating, and realized it had been warm the whole morning. I had been
so caught up in what was happening that I hadn't noticed it at all
until then.
Finally, the principal called me in. I sat down in front of her desk.
The ring grew even more active. She stood up and walked around me, as
if she was inspecting me. It made me extremely uncomfortable. Then she
learned in close to my ear.
"I'm curious," she whispered, "why you didn't use magic. I know you've
been practicing. A simple levitation spell, a stun spell, or making the
boys violently ill. All basic spells that I know you've started to
learn. It would have all been so simple. But you chose to just fight
instead? How unladylike."
She returned to her chair behind the desk. I was so confused. How could
she know about what I'd been learning?
"I suppose I did rush you a bit, she said, but maybe when your realize
that your mother's life is on the line and Aphrodite's little Cadre of
cheerleading spies are useless. Maybe then - "
"I don't know what you're taking about," I lied. The ring was burning
on my finger.
"Oh, I forgot. You're just a cute little cheerleader. Perky and sweet
and vivacious. That's your life now isn't it? Well, I was the one who
gave you that, when you defiled my likeness. You were supposed to be
one of my maidens, under my control until Aphrodite and her
cheerleading little minions interfered. "
Shit, I thought, this isn't the principal, it's Eos, the crazy goddess
who had started all this insanity. I tried to get up, but found I
couldn't move a muscle. I couldn't speak either.
"You seem to be adjusting to your new life extremely well. But I've
been thinking you should take on a new role. The school slut perhaps.
But I suppose you would need bigger tits for that."
As she spoke my breasts started to swell, pushing against my sports bra
until it felt like I couldn't breathe.
"And a different outfit, I suppose," she mused, and suddenly my
cheerleaders uniform was replaced by a some sort of half tee crop top
that left my midriff totally exposed and barely covered my nipples. I
felt totally exposed and definitely cold. Then my hips began to expand
and my butt swelled until I felt I was sitting on a couple of cushions.
My skirt transformed into tight leather. And fishnet stockings wove
their way up my legs.
"Your face still screams innocence though," she said, waving her
fingers around my head. My lips began to swell and I felt heavy makeup
coating my eyes.
"Yes, that might be a better look for you. Would you like to see?" She
turned my chair sideways toward the wall, which had become a giant
mirror. I was mortified at what I saw. God, I hoped none of the other
students would see me like this.
Right as I thought that, the braided ring glowed bright and hot and
suddenly I was back in my cheerleader outfit and my body was the same
as it had been when I came to school. I could move as well. I jumped
out of the chair. "You're insane," I yelled.
"Ah, how disappointing. That must be Aphrodite 's little ring on your
finger. It must have a dampening effect on my spells, Anything I try to
do to you now would be decidedly short term. Aren't you Lucky. Too bad
you didn't have it the night we met, you would have shaken off the
effects of my spell minutes after I was gone and returned to your boy
body.
But now, born anew as the girl you should have been, you have your
mother's magic flowing through you. Can't you just feel it trying to
get out? It won't be very long before you fulfill the prophecy and the
war that Zeus and Aphrodite tried so hard to prevent will begin. My
partners and I are counting on it. Today was a test, and I must say you
failed miserably. But I don't mind. Without your mother to guide you,
you will never have the discipline you need to control those energies.
And unfortunately for you, we have your mother far beyond your reach."
Her eyes were full of madness and a palpable darkness was filling the
room. "But if you do me one little favor - cast a special spell I can
give you, then remove the ring - I could change you back to your old
boy self and release your mother as well. What do you say to that?

The door to her office opened and the secretary poked her head in."
That's a woman here who says - "
"I told you I was not to be interrupted," the principal screamed at
her, "until I'm finished."
An older woman I had only ever seen in photographs pushed her way past
the secretary into the office. Behind her I saw Chloe and Daphne and
several other girls from the squad. The woman's resemblance to my
mother was remarkable.
"Oh, I think you're finished now," my grandmother said, "Andi is in my
custody now."
