Chapter 1 – Bedeviled

Robin stripped off her blood-soaked clothing and dropped it to the deck. She laid her sword and dagger and pistol on top of the pile. And then she grabbed the rigging and pulled herself onto the railing. She crouched and then extended, propelling her sleek body into an arc as she dove into the sea below.
She surfaced and swam a few more yards away from her ship. Then she turned and looked back at it. The Bedeviled was a beautiful ship. It had sleek and elegant curves, just like its captain. Robin turned away from the ship and started swimming. This was her favorite way to relax. She would do this for long hours if she could but she never had enough time for that. She had to settle for brief moments in quiet coves.
The second ship arrived ten minutes later. She stayed in the water and watched as the crew maneuvered to a spot near the Bedeviled and then anchored. Half of her crew was on her ship while the other half manned the ship they had taken earlier in the day.
?Ahoy, Captain,? yelled one of the crew members from the deck
