When it was over, after ten long, painful minutes, Rebecca was untied and led to the edge of the stage. She no longer complained. But Mr. Barton had one more surprise:
“You have now all lost valuable lesson time, due to Miss Ward’s resistance and Mr. Shaw’s punishment taking longer than expected. I have therefore decided that they shall both make it up to you all in some small way. They will be available as live models in biology classes throughout the school for the next two weeks. They shall also, along with Miss Cooper and Miss Brown, be live models in art classes – any art teacher can request their assistance. The assembly is dismissed!”
