Great Shift: Feeling The Power

As John came walking into the house he kicked off his mud covered
boots and socks. Brushing off flakes of hard lava ash from the
ancient lava flows near his house, his mother scolding him once
again for tracking mud and hard lava into the house.
"But mom, it's so much fun scrambling over the rocks." John
pleaded.
"I wish I can find a way to stop you from playing there." Mrs.
Mathew said. "It's just too dangerous."
"Maybe for someone over 30." John muttered under his breath.
"What was that?" Mrs. Mathew said.
"Er... Nothing." John said as he headed upstairs to take a bath.
As they stars came out that night, Mrs. Mathew stepped out on the
front porch. She saw weird lights in the horizon sky. Through the
red, blue, green, yellow and silver lights, she saw the first
star of the evening. "I wish I had a real excuse to keep John off
those lava flows." She wished before going to bed.
That night, the whole town seemed to shake in the most massive
earthquake that was ever felt. So great, that one expected the
news to report California's departure from rest of country. The
shaking knocked John out of bed, as he tried to stand up, he felt
over and hit his head on a bedpost that he knew wasn't there a
second before.
A pink pony alarm clock read 9:15 when John shook his head and
found long blonde hair falling in front of his face. "Huh?" John
said in a high pitch voice. Feeling a draft by his legs, he stood
up and found himself in a pink, lace trim nightgown.
"Mother!" John screamed as he ran down an unfamiliar staircase
and into a kitchen where she saw a young dark hair woman with a
pageboy haircut. "You're not my mother."
"My name is Frank." The woman in a semi-transparent gown said.
"At least it was before I woke up in my wife's body."
"Martha are you there?" Came a knock on the door. Frank and John
went to the door and found a curly blonde woman standing on the
front porch. "I know who you think I am, Martha. But I'm not."
"Neither am I." Frank said. "I'm Frank. I left Martha in my body
in bed. She's still crying, Susan."
"I'm not Susan." The blonde woman said. "I'm Stacy Mathew."
"Mom," John said, giving her a hug with tears puffing up his new
eyes.
"John, thank goodness I found you at least." Mrs. Mathew said
with relief. "The news said something their calling The Great
Shift has caused everyone in the world to swap bodies. When the
neighbor girl ended up in your body I came here in hope you'd be
in hers. Guess I got lucky since it doesn't always seem to work
that way."
"I'm just glad to know you're alright." John said to her mother
who was now in the body of his teacher; who lived across the
street from him. Now his mother lived across the street from the
yard that adjoined his old life's yard.
Going upstairs he found that Linda was very feminine and didn't
seem to own a single pair of jeans or pants. He was glad that
school was closed for a couple days while the families divided up
by The Great Shift tried to find one another. He wasn't sure what
to wear at first, then decided to take a bath and get to know his
new body.
After running soap over his soft new body and shaving his legs
with an almost natural ability, he soon was dressed. Hearing
Frank comfort his wife in the bedroom, John turned on the news to
get the latest on The Great Shift and lay on the couch. John
couldn't help starring at his nylon encased foot. The feeling of
his nice new soft body and the clothes made him feel very
powered.
That was when John started to hear shouts coming from the bedroom
upstairs. Frank's wife remembered how he complained about how
many pairs of shoes she had and how his old fashioned beliefs had
her wear only heels when she wasn't barefoot. As Martha put on
one of Frank's suits, she turned and smiled at Frank as he sat
with his legs crossed.
"Now Frank," Martha said with a smile. "I know too well that
nylons aren't comfortable, but you insisted that I wear them and
heels all the time. Now it's your turn to make sure you don't get
any runs or that your seams are kept straight when you put them
on."
"Yes dear." Frank said reluctantly.
"I can't wait to see you dress up for the dinner we had already
planned on going to before this happened. A night of dancing in
heels will really give you an insight of a woman's life. For now,
you need to get yourself comfortable with women's clothes. That
why before we go out tonight you're to go mall walking from store
to store for a complete new outfit. I want you or should I say me
to look best for us going out on our wedding anniversary."
Soon Frank was driving toward the mall in a pink Thunderbird LX
and saw Linda's body on the lava flows. "A mini skirt and heels
aren't best for climbing." Frank said. "How about joining me at
the mall. I know that Linda only wore shorts and sneakers in gym
class."
"Sure." John said as Frank helped him off the lava flows and into
the car. "I remember seeing Linda in shorts at school and was
heading there when I saw the flows and had my old urge to climb
them. You're right about the clothes. If I can buy something
different."
"While I was upstairs changing, I heard you on the phone." Frank
said with a strawberry lipstick smile at his daughter image.
"Anyone we know?"
"My dad finally located me." John said with a sigh. "He was
transferred to teenage girl in Tokyo Japan. He was lucky that,
like me, his new body seems to have retained the needed
knowledge. In his case a knowledge of both Japanese and English
languages."
"You?" Frank asked.
"How to dress this body for one."
John said as they parked at the mall. Walking in they saw a
Salvation Army man dressed as Santa Claus. Inside, Christmas
music played as they went past a photo with Santa display. John
heard Santa climbing about his beard being real in the same way
his teacher Mrs. Bird complained about her husband beard and
guessed it was her in a man's body now.
As Frank and John entered a shoe store, John tried to force his
way over to the sneakers. Found himself drawn unwillingly toward
the open toe heels like was already showing off his polish nylon
coated nails.
"What's wrong?" Frank asked.
"It's no use." John sighed. "After mom came over, I called Linda
in my body and found out she got dressed as easy as I did. Our
bumping our heads at the same time during the shift had caused
this body to maintain it's preference to dress up not dress down.
I can't stop myself from going all feminine."
"Here I'm struggling just to walk in heels and this straight
jacket like bra." Frank said as they came out of the dressing
room one at a time. Each time in a different outfit. At least
until John and Frank had maxed out Linda and Martha's credit
cards.
As the cell phone in Frank's purse rang, he answered it. Martha
on the other end reminded Frank of the salon appointment made
back when she was in her own body. She suggested taking John
along with him for a full experience.
John felt a different type of powering feeling than ever they had
a manicure, pedicure and leg waxing. Their hair and eyebrows were
door. They felt sore where they hair were ripped away from their
bodies, but they both found they loved the personal attention
they got in the salon chairs. As John stared at his image in the
mirror, he gave a sexy poise that would make any man's manhood go
erect.
"How do you like your new look?" The salon woman said. Frank
didn't care for it at all, but John smiled and nodded. She leaned
over and whispered in John's ear. "You must of been as lucky as
me, hon. Going from one female body to another instead of getting
stuck the opposite sex."
John didn't know what to say. He didn't realize how taken he was
to being female already. As Frank took them home, John saw Linda
on the lava flows in his body. Obviously as he took on more of
her personality, she had taken on more of his. It was like
walking in a dream state with someone else in control of what
either of them did. For some reason neither seemed to mind too
much.
"But, I don't need a babysitter." John protested that night.
"John was old enough not to have a babysitter, but Linda is now."
Martha said in Frank's authoritative voice. "For now on you're
Linda."
John just sighed and gave in as the sixteen year old girl who was
a forty year old woman before The Great Shift, smiled with her
books pressed under her breasts. She smiled and understood what
it felt like to be younger than before though not the opposite
sex. She was going to go easier on John as she was sure the
adjustment been hard for him.
As John played videos games and worked on Linda's homework, he
was glad he had till the end of Christmas vacation to get used to
being Linda. Wasn't sure if they'd be anything left of John when
he did return to school.
Frank wasn't having it so easy. At dinner, Frank kicked off his
heels off under the table and rubbed his nylon covered feet
together. Even wiggling his toes was sore for him as he never
danced in heels before. Martha wanted him to dance to ever song
that played when they weren't actually eating.
"You look lovely dear."
"Knock it off," Frank muttered. "I'm embarrassed enough here as
it is."
"Okay, Okay." Martha chuckled. "After dessert we'll be going home
and you can be my little housewife. You can cook, clean and play
bridge with your girlfriends like I used to. You'll only have to
go out when you're at the supermarket if you wish."
"Yes, Martha." Frank said, feeling the need to go to the
bathroom.
He stepped into the heels and hobbled into the women's room where
he got his first experience at pulling a pair of panties and
pantyhose down to his ankles and hiking up his dress to go
sitting down. He never missed going standing up in his life.
"If John ever needs a babysitter let me know." Kathy said with a
smile and went to her car. The new families would all have a lot
to learn before Christmas. Things they'd have the rest of their
lives to get use to.
