Prologue
Silence.
The kind of quiet the makes you want to scream. That stillness of body
and soul that shakes you to the core, utter deafening silence. The stars
whiled above the lifeless ship as it spun in a gravity-free twirl, dancing
through the airless expanse like a metal ballerina. Inside, bloodied and
bruised, the tired pilots suddenly came to the bitter realization that they
had, in fact, not been killed. Flames gently rocked the spacecraft as they
ate away at the hull's lining, loose plasma drifting through the walls, soon
to rip a hole into the chilling grasp of cold death.
Mentally, head pilot Jun Amirahi imagined what his last three seconds of
life would be like after the hull caved. He imagined his body passing
through a hole smaller than his fist. Silently, he began to wish the
explosion had finished them, rather than leave them to this cruel fate. He
watched the flashing red numbers count down the hull integrity which
would mean his last seconds of life... 32%, 30%, 26%, 23%...
With a sudden blinding flash, a large scout vessel stop abruptly before
their craft, appearing as a massive hulk outside the cockpit visual array.
Jun's eyes could only blink. Twice. Rescue ship? Here? Now? Over the
crackle of plasma flames, a woman's voice called out to the doomed
crew.
"Excavation Vessel 27z Mark IX, this is the prototype field medic port
starship 'Circle Star.' Please respond, If anyone is alive over there. Please
answer immediately, your hull is about to rupture!"
Saved? Rescue? For a long meant, these words meant nothing to Jun, he
rolled them over and over in his head. Dazed by this turn of events, his
co-pilot leapt for the communications console and began violently
screaming out their situation. Some type of alien ore had ruptured in a
batch of iron ore they had harvested, and they had only moments before
the hull collapsed.
The woman's voice again reported cleanly over their comm. system,
finally getting Jun's attention. Stunned, he shook he face and blinked.
And again. Still he could not believe his eyes. "Aright then," like the
voice of an angel.
Jun's mind was a blank.
"We we're docking now to get you out of there. Activating docking
ports."
No time, no time... they'll be blown to bits before they get the three of
us out of here... In what he saw to be his final moments, Jun's thoughts
were for the first time not revolving around self preservation.
He jammed his finger into the comm panel and exclaimed, "There is no
time, you'll never make it, get out of here before you are all killed."
And the silence returned. Both the navigational pilot and science officer
glared at Jun, knowing his last act of chivalry cost them their lives. He
began to think that they might kill him in the moments before the hull
gave way. Before they could move to rip his legs off, however, the
familiar static returned over the comm. Line.
"Negative 27z, we're not letting go of our find just yet."
Once again Jun's mind launched into overdrive. Find? They are after the
cargo, not us. Pirates! They must be! We are going to die! Abandoned by
pirates stealing our... Iron ore? What do they want with iron ore?
No... they must be after whatever we found... but then maybe it will
explode on their ship and in death we will be vinidcat... .
Jun was cut off as a razor-cutter sliced open his cockpit, only inches from
his face. A familiar voice rang out from within the archway connecting
the two ships, calling for the men, "No need for a door, boys, we can
make our own. Get on board now, hurry before we all become space-
debris."
For what may have been the thousandth time that day, all three men were
taken aback. First by the unorthodox entry, and secondly by the heavenly
shape that stood silhouetted in the white light. Drooling would have cost
them their lives, so all three gently (but quickly) shut their mouths and
scrambled aboard the medic ship. As the hatchway closed the ships
drifted apart, slowly at first, then very suddenly, only the damaged
science vessel sat in the bitter cold of space. Numbers continued to tick
down on the ship's computer... 7%, 3%... And then there was nothing
but the emptiness of space, and a few scattered pieces of scrap metal.
Pirates.
Four sharp short breaths past the lips of each of the three men as they
came to realized that they were alive. Now, gazing up and realizing they
were surrounded by four attractive young females in tight-fitting flight
suits, one more short quick breath past the lips of the three. Finally,
realizing that each of the young and skimpily dressed females was
aiming a small not-so-skimpy looking gun at them, no breaths past the
lips of any of them, nor did they move, nor blink, nor allow anything
more than a startled squeak escape their thoughts. Once again all was
silent.
It was the angelic captain and their savior who spoke first, yet her voice
sounded less pleasing with her newly acquired tone. "Move, ageist the
wall, now." Short and to the point. The three men slowly made their way
to the wall, arms reflexively raising above their heads. "Good," she
continued, "I'm glad to see none of you are fool enough to gamble with
my patience, I'll tell you right now, I have none. Just keep quiet and do as
I say and all seven of us can get out of this alive. Do not do as I politely
request, and we may be forced to make your stay slightly less pleasant.
Jun's mind snapped to attention. Sigh. Out of the frying pan into the
pirate ship, just great. But what do they want with us? Why didn't they
just take the cargo. Are they thinking of ransoming us? Science and
navigation officers? Good luck--they will get anything but a few laughs
from the Starshine council.
One of the girls, a pretty blond in a light blue jumpsuit spoke now, her
voice betraying a hint of accent Jun did not recognize. "He is confused.
He doesn't understand why he is here and not his cargo." Telepath!
Damn!
The female captain slowly made her way to Jun, her heels clicking
against the grated steel floor. Jun now got a better view of her body, the
full perky breasts pushed up under her suit, the light sway or her thighs
as she gracefully made each step, coming closer to her captive like an
angered predator. Her eyes glanced down Jun's body, taking in every
detail. "Not to worry now. You are to be my little guest."
Jun was hardly little. At 6'3" he was the tallest graduate of his
navigational studies unit when he graduated only two weeks before. His
brown hair hung down the right side of his face, coming to his chin, and
was now matted with blood. His ice gray eyes now met in full the gave
of the captain, who brushed her hand across his face and pushed the hair
away from his cuts, examining him.
At first, Jun thought she was checking his wounds, but after a moment
she sighed and said, "He'll have to do, for now. We have the same hair
color at least." She checked her hair against his. She was right. Her hair
was roughly the same color, deep brown, the brown that holds your eyes
like a black hole. Her hair was much longer than his, coming down her
shoulder to rest on the pillow of her breasts, but the style was similar,
half forward and half tucked behind the ear.
She started to look him up and down again, without removing her eyes
from his body, she said to the other girls, "Candy, Cindy, take the other
two down to the hold, Stacy, you come with me, we have work to do."
The girls obeyed. Jun watched as the two men were led off by the girls,
held at gunpoint. Now only the captain, himself, and the telepath
remained.
Aware that anything he might think could easily be reported (at least in
fragment) by the telepath, Jun decided to risk a question. "What do you
want with us? Why did you take us and not our cargo?" This question
seemed to bring a smile to the face of the captain. Jun could swear she
smiled.
"What is your name officer?" That cinched it, she was military, or at least
former military. No one outside the galactic Starshine could reach rank
badges, they were coded in the ocular implant given upon initiation.
"Jun Amirahi, ma'am," Jun hoped being polite might smooth the
troubled waters, but it only seemed to bother the captain further. "Are
you assigned military from Starshine? Pardon my saying so, but when
you held us at gun point I thought you were pirates." This certainly did
bring a large smile to her face.
"Yes, Jun, you might say we are pirates. We are also former Starshine
employees." Worse than pirates. Rebels! Very calmly, Stacey gave Jun a
look that both reminded him that he was being held at gunpoint and that
she could read his mind. "Don't be afraid. Jun, I am captain Megumi,
that's the only name you need to know right now. You're already aware
of the other girls, and that you and your little friends are going to be
staying with us a bit. This has been quite a day, first we steal this
prototype, and now we get some boys to play with. What more could a
girl ask for?"
Jun watched he as if he expected her to go on.
"I think she asked you a question." Stacie barked.
"Uhhh... you want me to answer you?" Both girls nodded in
agreement. "Well... spaceship... low ranking science and navigation
officers... I don't know... what more could you want?" Jun became
confused, glanced back at each girl one after the other, neither moved or
spoke. Another long silence passed. Jun leaned against the hard blue steel
of the wall and made ready to wait.
The captain sighed, defeated. "How uselessly boring you are, I hope your
friends will be more entertaining. We want the Starshine medical records
files from Shinebase one, we have this ship but cannot take advantage of
all it's wonderful technology. Jun actually burst into a fit of laugher.
"You actually think they would give medical access codes to science and
navigation officers?" Jun couldn't control his laughter. "Especially now
that we've lost our ship, there is not point in even going back to
Shinebase at this point, we'd be practically outcast for the destruction of a
prospecting vessel. The cargo alone was worth more than the three of us
would have made in a year." Jun's laughing fit was getting out of control
and he did not see the looks of amusement he was getting from his two
captors. At this moment, Cindy walked back to the hanger where the
three were standing.
Cindy saluted the captain, standing tall and erect his a military expression
on her face. "Ma'am, the prisoners are secure in the hold, my sister is
keeping an eye on them. Allow me to escort you back to the hold."
"Very good Cindy, but you don't work for Starshine anymore, you can
relax when talking to me. After all, we are all here together in this now,
like it or not."
"Very well, ma'am. Are we going to take the other prisoner to the hold
now?"
Jun smirked. He didn't think Cindy looked any less military. Stacie
caught his eye, and he thought she may give him another "look" but
instead, she smiled. This further puzzled Jun.
The captain on the other hand seemed to be getting unnerved. "No Cindy,
that will be all, you can go back down and guard the hold."
"But... "
Her anger rising, Megumi cut her off. "Thank you, you may go." With
this, she did in fact go, and the captain seemed to relax. Jun didn't
understand the events that had transpired, but the look he was getting
from Stacie told him not to concern himself with it. This was just as well
for Jun, who was not exactly eager to make his way to the hold with the
others. Stacie and Megumi gave each other a small nod, and turning to
Jun, said in unison, "Go."
They lead Jun down a winding corridor and through a series of portals
which opened with a satisfied 'swooosh!' sound and closed with a sound
that was almost like the same thing in reverse. As they walked Jun let his
mind wander. He thought about Stacie's long legs and the sounds they
made behind him as she took each step, the fabric of her jumpsuit
crinkling with each step. He wondered what a drop of sweat would feel
like running down her inner thigh. He thought of her crimped red hair
that waved down her face and framed her breasts, they way it fell off her
shoulder and swished as she moved, like a waterfall flowing over her
supple curves. He thought all these things until he felt her gun press into
his back and remember that she could hear his thoughts. Out of spite, he
started thinking about what color panties she had on (or if she was the
type who didn't wear any!) He thought to himself that she must be
wearing yellow panties, he had her pegged for the type who would wear
yellow.
Finally, they stopped in front of a door that the captain had to input a code
to open. As she did, Stacie very casually said, "Blue." That captain turned
to look at Stacie, but she just shrugged and pointed he gun further into
Jun's back.
The door opened on what seemed to Jun like the lab of a mad scientist.
He was lead to a very large steel table and told to lay on it. He did so and
immediately he was surrounded by medical probots. They scanned his
body tissue and injected him wish a small needle. Before he even felt the
prick, he was already asleep.
Jun woke with a sore back from laying on the steel table for an amount
of time he was unable to calculate. He knew immediately that Stacie was
staring down at him, calling his name, but he couldn't quite make out her
face and her voice sounded empty and hollow. He felt the hair across his
face and brushed it away, feeling the wounds on his face were gone. Not
only cleaned and patched up, but gone. His deep cuts were gone without
scar or any evidence that they had ever existed. In fact, his skin felt silky
smooth to his touch, they must have some amazing medical equipment
on this ship. He ran his fingers through his hair and realized that while
his hand usually made it to the end of his short hair rather quickly, it did
not find the ends with the same speed this time. Rather... His hand kept
going... And going...
Jun shot up quite suddenly and a new and awkward pair of weights
shifted on his chest. As he glanced down at this unnatural shifting on his
body, he realize his newly acquired orbs and longer hair were not the
only surprises in store for him. He wore a tight fitting jumpsuit over his
supple legs, tight on his crotch, and his breasts were forced up in his face
like two mountains blocking his view of his new body. He recognized
the color of the jumpsuit, but couldn't put his finger on quite where he
had seen it... A girl... Named... Megumi? No... that was that pirate
captain's name... In shock, Jun passed out, but not before catching a
glimpse of his body laying on a steel table across the room.
Stacie crossed the room and woke her captain. Megumi's eyes shot open
with a start. In Jun's voice she said, "Did it work?"
