All in a Day's Work

Chapter 1
"Mr. Rose; Keith and Teri would like to see you."
Forty-six-year-old Matt Rose leaned forward at his desk. He was the owner
of Rose Services a company that provided personal assistants to the rich
and famous.
"Thank you Roxanne," he replied. "Please send them right in."
A thin young man and athletic looking woman with short brown hair entered
his office.
"Please sit down," said Matt.
Teri nodded and sat down in one of the push leather chairs that were
positioned in front of his desk.
Keith shook his head.
"I would rather stand," he replied sharply. He then paused for a second
as if he was trying to think of the best way to say what was on his mind.
"Matt...about this client...to put it bluntly... she's fucking nuts!"
"We knew she was eccentric before we took the contract," interjected Matt
calmly. He had seen this reaction by his employees before when presented
with unique requests by his company's clients.
Keith shook his head again.
"No, eccentric is requesting all the orange M&Ms removed before a
concert, eccentric is having us import beer from Egypt....that the client
never drank...no, this woman is nuts!" countered Keith.
"Calm down...what did she want?" asked Matt in a soothing manner. "It
can't be that bad."
"You have no idea," replied Keith as he threw his hands up in the air.
"She wants Teri and I to switch genders while we work with her."
Matt stared back as he tried to contemplate what his employee had just
said.
"What do you mean...switch genders?" he asked.
"She wants me to dress up as a woman...hair, makeup, clothes...the whole
nine yards...and she wants Teri to take on a male persona for the
duration of the contract...Matt that's at least three weeks!" exclaimed
Keith.
"It's no big deal," replied Teri. "I don't mind."
Keith turned and glared at her.
"Of course you don't mind...you always wear pants," he snapped. "I bet
you would be pissed if she asked you to wear a dress."
Teri licked her index finger and made then made a stroking movement with
it as if she was marking a tally. "That was a good one...Kate," she
replied.
Keith and Teri often worked together often. They were actually good
friends and often had playful banter between each other.
"Hold on...who's Kate?" asked Matt.
Keith pointed to his chest. "That's the name she suggested that I use.
Matt, please call her and talk her out of this."
Matt picked up his phone and dialed the number to their newest client,
the latest international singing and entertainment star Madame Midnight.
Chapter 2
"I was expecting this call Mr. Rose," replied Daniel Carpenter, who was
Madame Midnight's manager.
"Good, then I'm sure you can explain this...request," said Matt.
"As you know Madame Midnight is preparing for her latest concert
tour...and well, she's rather superstitious. She feels that having one or
two cross-dressing employees guarantees a success. Our second tour was a
disaster and this was the only one that she didn't have a crossdresser as
part of the staff," explained Daniel. "Now, before you say a thing, I
understand your concerns, but she's under a lot of pressure. She has a
new CD out and the concert tour will last over seven months and hit five
continents. If this...inconvenience to your employees puts her in the
right frame of mind, it will be worth it...both to our investment and to
you and your employees. I promise that they will be rewarded with sizable
bonuses."
"How sizable?" asked Matt.
"Very large," replied Daniel. "Additionally I understand the competitive
nature of your business. I can promise that if your two employees
cooperate that it will bode well for future contracts."
Matt nodded as he thought about Daniel's comments.
"So give me the details," he stated.
"She will need the two personal assistants in the weeks leading up to the
start of the tour. They will perform their normal duties...nothing sexual
or illegal in nature. She doesn't want to hurt anyone," explained Daniel.
"Why doesn't she use someone in her own organization?" asked Matt.
"That's not what she wants," he replied.
Matt rubbed his chin as he listened.
"If they agree to do this...there will be additional costs," said Matt.
"Of course...just have them list all their personal expenses and we'll
pay it," said Daniel.
Matt hesitated before replying. He wasn't used to clients so readily
agreeing to additional costs.
"Matt, I know what you're thinking. There's no hidden agenda. The thing
is there is a lot of money invested in this tour and there's even more to
be made. I need Madame Midnight's head in the game...to coin a phrase."
"I see. So it would only be for the next three weeks, right?" asked Matt.
"That's right," he replied. "I will send you the numbers."
"Okay, I will talk to my employees and get back to you shortly," said
Matt.
"Thanks Matt, I appreciate your cooperation."
"It's not my cooperation we have to count on," said Matt as he hung up.
Keith flopped down in the chair next to Teri as he listened to the
conversation and realized that he was screwed.
Chapter 3
Matt set his phone down and looked at Keith and Teri. He was very fond of
both of them and the last thing he wanted to do was hurt them. Rose
Services was a small company with less than twenty employees. Over the
past three years they had slowly grown and were on the brink of becoming
a major player in the personal services industry. Getting the Madame
Midnight contract had been a real coup and Matt hoped that it would lead
to bigger and better things.
Both Keith and Teri had been working for him for the past two years and
they were his best employees. Teri Buckley was twenty-three and was a
graduate from USC. She had initially taken the job part-time while she
tried to get into hotel management.
Keith Patton had also attended USC. Matt hadn't expected the twenty-two-
year-old young man to stick around as Keith initially wanted to get into
TV and movie production. Matt had read some of Keith's scripts and was
very impressed, but it was a difficult industry to break into. Matt had
made Keith promise that he wouldn't give any of their clients any of his
scripts. Keith readily agreed and had kept his promise. Now Matt was
grooming Keith for a management position.
Keith was also the same size as Teri, both were around five-eight and
thin. While Teri always wore her hair short and spiked, Keith's hair was
much longer and a reddish brown in color.
Matt looked at his employees and tried to picture them dressed in the
opposite gender and to his surprise he realized that they could both pull
it off.
He told them what Daniel had said and he didn't leave a thing out.
"Now, I know this is going to be a big decision for both of you,
especially you Keith, but it won't be easy for you either Teri. You'll
have to do your jobs and deal with our vendors as part of your duties. I
don't expect any issues from them...they understand the industry...but
there are other people you will have to deal with...even with your
personal lives," he stated.
Teri smirked. "Personal life? What's that?"
Even Keith smiled at her comment. When they were assigned to a client,
they had little free time to themselves. It was the main reason why Matt
had a large turnover of employees.
"You know that I think the world of both of you...that's why I initially
assigned you to this one...but I didn't know that there would be
this...um... twist," continued Matt.
Teri looked at Keith and then Matt.
"Boss, I'm game, but I'll do what ever Keith wants. All kidding aside
this is a bit out there...even for this job," she said.
Keith smiled back at Teri. They often worked together and had become good
friends.
"I guess it's up to me then," said Keith.
"I can replace you with someone else," said Matt.
"Who? Trent? Jason? Kevin?" asked Keith. "No offense Boss, but the
thought of any of them dressed as a woman is rather disturbing....they
wouldn't even make good drag queens!"
Matt smiled as he tried to picture some of his other male employees
dressed as women.
"So are you going to do it?" asked Teri.
"I don't know," replied Keith as his head dropped down.
"Keith, why don't you take a day to think about it? If you decide to do
it I will talk to rest of the staff and have them agree to be civil,"
said Matt.
Keith stared down at the ground lost in his thoughts. He didn't want to
let Matt down as he knew how important the contract was to the company.
However, the biggest problem was that he was dealing with issues that he
couldn't bring up with Matt or Teri.
"Keith, what do you want to do?" asked Matt.
"Just promise that no one will laugh at me for doing this," replied Keith
as he nodded. "I understand how big this contract is to us and I
appreciate everything that you've done for us Matt."
Matt just nodded.
"Anyway, I guess it won't be that bad...I mean when I'm around
Madame Midnight I doubt anyone will be looking at me," continued Keith.
"So is that a yes?" asked Matt.
Keith nodded.
Matt reached over his desk and shook Keith's hand.
"Thank you Keith," he replied. He then shook Teri's hand. "Thank you
Teri."
"So what happens now?" asked Keith.
"I have a few calls to make," said Matt. "Go to lunch and then when
you're done see me."
Chapter 4
Teri and Keith walked out of Matt's office together.
"So where do you want to eat?" she asked.
Keith shrugged his shoulders.
"I don't care...I'm not really hungry," he replied.
"Well, you'd better eat something, let's head over to the deli and get
some comfort food," she said.
"Okay," replied Keith as they headed up the street.
Keith didn't talk until after they sat down in one of the booths of the
local deli.
"I know this isn't going to be easy but thanks for agreeing to do it,"
said Teri as she scanned the menu.
"Why?" he asked.
"I like my job and this means that we could get some more big name
clients. Also the bonus will be really cool. I've been looking at buying
a place and it will help with my down payment," she explained.
Keith nodded.
"And I wouldn't worry about the others at work. Matt won't let things get
out of hand," she continued.
"I know...I'm more concerned about people we have to deal with...you know
vendors and stuff like that," said Keith as he picked up a menu.
She suspected that there was more on Keith's mind, but she decided not to
push it. She liked him a lot, not in a dating sense, more in the "best
friend" mode. She figured that he would open up to her eventually.
Chapter 5
"Welcome back," greeted Matt. "Have a seat."
Keith and Teri sat down across from their boss.
"I talked to Madame Midnight's manager and he says that she'll be
expecting you two to show up tomorrow afternoon," said Matt. "He also
sent me an agenda of some of the events that they'll need help with over
the next few weeks."
"Like what?" asked Teri.
"She'll be doing the TV circuit and she wants one or both of you along,"
said Matt.
"Are all of these local?" asked Keith.
Matt shook his head. "No. We're working on some temporary IDs for you.
When you fly you'll be on a private jet so that's one less thing to worry
about. I've already ordered some company credit cards too."
"So what are our names?" asked Teri.
Matt looked at his notes. "Keith you're going to be Katherine L. Patton
and Teri you'll be Terry M. Buckley. Of course if want a different name
let me know ASAP."
"What's the L stand for?" asked Keith.
Matt looked at his notes again.
"Laura...and the M is Michael," he read out. "I don't know if they have
significance or not, but as names go they're not bad."
Keith looked at Teri who shrugged her shoulders.
"Now, here's the important part. I contacted a company that will help
both of you change," continued Matt. "They usually work with the
transgendered and come with a very high recommendation. They will help
both of you with everything. They'll even get you both started on your
new wardrobes."
"Yippee," said Keith softly.
"When do we start?" asked Teri.
"This afternoon. They'll be expecting both of you at four," said Matt.
"So soon?" asked Keith.
Matt nodded. "You have a to do in a very short time."
"Okay," replied Keith softly.
"One thing we don't have to worry about is privacy. They've already
agreed to sign a letter provided by our lawyer," stated Matt.
"What about the rest of our company?" asked Keith.
"They've been told what's happening and that what you're doing falls
under the company privacy agreement," said Matt.
All employees were required to sign a very strict privacy agreement. It
served to protect both the employees and the clientele. Matt took this
agreement very serious and he went after anyone who violated it.
"That's good to hear," said Keith.
"From what I've seen of the schedule you two will be on, I doubt you'll
be spending much time in the office," said Matt. "Now, what about private
lives...any issues?"
"My landlord is cool," said Teri.
"What about your family and friends?" he asked.
"I don't see any problems," she replied. "They know that when I'm on a
job there's sometimes a degree of weirdness to it."
"What about you Keith?" asked Matt.
"No problems with my family....they live up north. I don't expect any
issues with my apartment manager. All he cares about is if the rent is
paid on time," he replied.
"Well, if there are any problems let me know, I can have our lawyers call
them," he said.
Teri snapped her fingers.
"What about driving?" she asked.
"Oh, I almost forgot about that. Our lawyer is preparing some letters for
you to carry with you at all times," said Matt. "It'll explain why you're
dressed in the opposite gender's clothing."
"So where do we have to go?" asked Teri.
"I've already sent you the directions," said Matt.
Teri looked at Keith who nodded.
"Okay, we're off, see you later Boss," said Teri as she stood up. She
looked at Keith. "You ready?"
He stood up and shook his head.
"No, but let's do it before I change my mind," he replied.
Matt shook both their hands.
"I won't forget this...I really appreciate what you two are doing," he
stated.
Chapter 6
Teri and Keith walked into a nondescript looking office located at the
end of a strip mall.
"This is the place," said Teri as she checked the address on her phone.
Keith looked at the name on the door. "Ace Transformations Inc."
"Catchy name," he stated.
"You ready for this?" she asked.
"No, but let's go in anyway," he replied.
"That's the spirit," she said as she stepped out of the car.
There was an intercom next to the front door. Teri pressed the button and
told the woman on the other end who they were.
Once inside they were greeted by a tall blonde haired woman.
"Good afternoon, my name is Maggie Lee," she greeted.
"Pleased to meet you," said Teri.
Keith nervously smiled as he greeted Maggie.
"Let's go sit down and talk," suggested Maggie.
She led them to the next room. It was furnished like a living room with a
couch and several plush chairs.
"We like our clients to feel comfortable here," said Maggie as she sat
down on the couch.
Keith and Teri sat down across from her.
"I talked to your boss and I got a good idea of what is expected from
both of you," said Maggie as she studied them. "I think we can do a very
good job on both of you."
"So what do you have in mind?" asked Teri as she sat on the edge of her
chair.
"Well, with you I will go with a new hair style, shorter...obviously more
masculine. Do you wear glasses?" asked Maggie.
"I wear contacts," she replied.
"I think glasses will help with your new image. If you provide me with
your prescription I can have a pair of male glasses ready for you by
tomorrow," replied Maggie.
"That's fast," replied Teri.
"We cater to a very special clientele...just like you do. I have my
vendors that can supply things very quickly," explained Maggie. "Teri,
please stand up and take off your jacket."
Teri did as she was asked.
"Very good...I have an excellent chest binder that will suit you quite
nicely," said Maggie. "It's very comfortable and can be worn as a t-
shirt. In fact I will supply you with several...in different colors."
"Cool," replied Teri.
"Please sit down. I also have a special pair of underwear that has a
built in pad...it will give you the appropriate bulge," said Maggie.
"When you leave tonight you'll have enough of a wardrobe to get by today
and tomorrow. I will have a complete wardrobe for you late tomorrow."
"Great," replied Teri. "What about facial hair?"
Maggie shook her head.
"No, you don't want that. It would have to be reapplied daily and it
would be a real pain. The one downside is that you'll look several years
younger. Expect to be carded often."
"Great," replied Teri as she rolled her eyes.
"Now, let's get you Keith...or should I say Kate," said Maggie. "Would
you please stand up and take off your jacket."
Keith stood up and smiled. "I'm not Kate yet."
"You might as well get used to the name," said Maggie. "Please turn
around."
Maggie rubbed her chin as she studied him.
"Not bad, I can make you quite passable. You can sit down," she said.
"The first thing is that I recommend that we cut and dye your hair."
"What?" he stammered.
"Trust me; you don't want to deal with a wig. Luckily your hair is long
enough that it will give us some options. I also recommend that we give
you a deeper red and some highlights," she continued. "Don't worry; when
this is over I can change you back to a passable male."
"Okay," he replied.
"We also have some interesting prosthetics that will give you appropriate
curves. They are quite lifelike and will feel as if they are part of
you," she said.
A confused look appeared on his face.
"Um, you make it sound like they're going to be attached to me," he said.
"That's exactly what I'm suggesting. The material can be attached for up
to a month without problems. The benefits of this are that you won't have
to worry about them slipping or being out of position," she explained.
"What are we talking about?" he asked.
"Breasts, hips and butt cheeks," she replied. "We do have a fake vagina,
but I doubt that you'll want that. I recommend that you just wear a gaff
to hide what's up front."
Keith looked at Teri who shrugged her shoulders.
"Hey, my breasts will be pressed down so don't look at me for sympathy,"
she said with a wink.
He was about to make a crack about that with her small breasts that
wouldn't be a hardship, but he didn't.
"Fine, I guess you know best, Maggie," he said.
"Great, so let's get started," Maggie replied. "Follow me."
Chapter 7
A short pudgy man with glasses named Kurt led Terry off. Maggie explained
that he was a top makeup artist who worked on many of the big budget
science fiction movies.
"I'm going to work on you Kate," said Maggie. "The first thing we need to
do is remove your body hair on your legs, arms, chest, and back."
"How?" he asked.
"Waxing, I hate chemical hair removers," she replied. "Don't worry; it
doesn't hurt as bad as it sounds. I'm fully licensed for hair, nails and
body."
He nodded.
"I'm also going to be critiquing you in how you walk, sit, talk...as I
want you to pass as a woman. I recommend that you start thinking of
yourself as a woman. It will make it easier for you," she explained. "So,
from this moment on you are now Kate, okay?"
"Okay," Kate replied.
"Speak softer, don't try to speak in a high pitch, it sounds bad," she
corrected.
"Okay, thank you," she replied.
"That's the spirit," said Maggie. "I know this can't be easy for you, but
it will give you a chance to see things from a different point of view.
Now, let's get started."
Chapter 8
"How're you doing, Kate?" asked Maggie.
"To be honest, I'm not sure...I can't believe that...that's me," replied
Kate.
Maggie nodded knowingly.
Kate stared at her now feminized reflection in the mirror. Her hair was
now styled in a hip female style. Her face was also made-up. She reached
up and ran her fingers gently over her eyebrows, which were now arched
and thin.
"Don't worry about them. I can make you look like a guy again when this
is over," said Maggie confidently.
Kate wasn't so sure.
She then looked at her hands. Her nails were now long and covered with
pink polish. The same color was on her toenails.
Her eyes looked down at the two breasts that were attached to her chest.
She could make out the seams and that was the only sign that they weren't
real.
"I can't believe how real they look," she said as she cupped them with
her hands.
"They're the best," said Maggie. "Now that the glue has set you can do
anything with them. The same goes for the attachments on your hips and
butt. Now, let's get you dressed."
Kate nodded as she turned to look at the wardrobe that had been laid out
for her.
"Put the gaff on first," said Maggie. "Once you have it almost on you'll
need to tuck."
Kate followed Maggie's instructions.
"Wow...it makes it disappear...so to speak," she replied.
"That's the point. Now, put on your panties and then your bra,"
instructed Maggie.
Kate had a little trouble with the bra. Maggie let her struggle while
giving her encouragement.
"That was harder than I had imagined," said Kate. "What size am I?"
"38-C, very proportional for your size," replied Maggie.
Kate then put on her skirt, blouse and sandals.
"Tomorrow you'll have to wear stockings and heels. I'm starting you on
two inch heels, no need in killing you the first day," said Maggie.
"Thanks," replied Kate.
"Now, tomorrow I'll stop by your place and help you with your makeup, but
you have to learn yourself...and quickly. What about Terry, can he help
you?"
Kate laughed.
"I think I'm wearing more makeup now that she...I mean 'he' has," laughed
Kate.
"Well then his transition should be easier than yours," replied Maggie.
Kate's wardrobe was finished with some jewelry.
"You look very nice Kate...very passable," replied Maggie.
"Thank you," replied Kate. "I feel slightly better about this now."
"I don't often get to do a makeover like yours...most of my clients go
for a more extreme look. It was a nice change of pace," she replied with
a smile.
She then gave Kate a list of instructions on makeup.
"If you get a chance, practice tonight," said Maggie.
"I will," replied Kate as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Your boss gave me a general description of how you need to dress at
work. I will get you everything you need tomorrow and bring it to your
place in the evening. What time do you think you'll be home?"
Kate picked up her phone and checked her schedule.
"It doesn't look too busy tomorrow...I should be home around seven," she
replied.
"Sounds like you work a lot of long hours," said Maggie.
Kate nodded.
"It all depends on the client. I suspect that with this one we'll be
putting in a lot of long hours."
"Well it's good that you don't have a lot of facial hair. That can be a
problem at the end of the day for some people," said Maggie.
Kate nodded as she studied her reflection. She smiled as she took herself
in.
"I think I can pull this off," she said.
"I know you can," added Maggie.
What she didn't say was that she suspected that it would be harder for
Kate to return to being Keith. She had seen enough transgendered clients
to notice the change in Kate. However, she also knew better than to say
anything about it...at least right now.
"Well, let's go see how your friend Terry has come out," said Maggie.
She led Kate to the next room.
Kate was shocked to see a thin young man dressed in black standing next
to Kurt.
"Wow," she exclaimed.
Terry smiled back. "Not bad, huh?"
"I was just surprised that they hadn't changed you yet," quipped Kate.
Terry looked at Kurt and then he turned and flipped Kate the bird.
"How was that?" he asked,
"Not bad," said Kurt.
Kate sarcastically clapped her hands.
"Very good," she replied.
"Thanks," replied Terry. "By the way, you look great. I'm so proud of you
that you went through with this."
"Thanks," replied Kate. "I owe it all to Maggie's magic."
"Well, I think you'll both do well," said Maggie. "We'll get you the rest
of your things tomorrow. Terry, I've sent you the directions to where you
can pick up your glasses."
"That's great," he replied.
"Now, I think it's time you two get going, you both have a long day ahead
of yourselves tomorrow," said Maggie.
Chapter 9
"I lost all track of time in there," said Kate as they drive away from
the shop.
"I know, me too," replied Terry. "Hey, why don't we stop and get
something to eat, I'm famished!"
"You mean, like this?" asked Kate as she glanced over at her now
masculine partner.
He nodded. "Hey we might as well start now...I mean this is our life for
the next few weeks. I'll buy."
Kate shook her head.
"No, we'll split it...I don't want anyone to think we're on a
date...you're not my type," she replied with a grin.
They stopped at a popular diner. Terry suggested it partly because it had
an eclectic clientele and also because the food was excellent.
"Look, if someone does 'make us' I doubt if they'd say anything there,"
he said.
"Okay," replied Kate cautiously.
"You nervous?" he asked.
She nodded as they pulled into the parking lot.
"I'll be there for you," said Terry.
Kate smiled. "Thanks, I appreciate that."
Just as Terry had said they had no issues inside the restaurant.
As they ate they talked about their situation.
"I'm still in a state of shock that we're doing this," said Kate.
"I know...I mean, this isn't that different from how I dress, but I never
tried to pass myself off as a guy," he replied. "Also, having my breasts
pressed down isn't all that comfortable."
"You have my sympathies," said Kate with a grin.
She then told Terry about her breasts and other attachments.
"That's amazing," said Terry. "So they're glued to your body?"
Kate nodded as she nibbled on a fry.
"Maggie said that I can do almost anything with them including bathing or
showering," said Kate.
"That's cool. I just wanted to say that you really look great. I don't
think you'll have any problems," he said.
"It's still pretty weird that we're doing this," said Kate.
"I guess it's par for the course with our client," he added.
Kate nodded.
"Still it's pretty cool that we'll be working for her," continued Terry.
Chapter 10
Madame Midnight had burst on the music scene a few years earlier and had
quickly rose to the top.
Her real name was Sophia Rogers and she had been born and raised in
Manhattan. Her parents, James and Claire worked on Broadway. James was a
stage manager and Claire worked her way from the chorus line to
choreographer.
Sophia grew up in this world and was acting from the time she was
five. She attended the High School of Performing Arts and then proceeded
to Juilliard. She originally planned to go into the theater, but then
she had a life changing experience.
When Sophia was twenty-one she was in a coffee house and she
overheard some people talking about an audition. A pop star was looking
for performers for her upcoming concert tour. On a whim, Sophia went to
the audition. To her surprise she was selected and spent the next six
months touring the country. She spent her time studying the dynamics of
the show and in her mind she contemplated ways that the show could be
improved. In her opinion the biggest problem with the show was that the
performer wasn't over-the-top enough. Sophia began to come up with a
stage persona that would blow people away.
A month after the tour ended, Sophia got her chance. She
auditioned for a reality TV show. When she went on stage she became
Madame Midnight. Her costume was a cross between a dominatrix and
vampire. But what won over the crowd was her incredible singing voice.
While she didn't win on the show, she did get signed by a
production company. Initially they planned for her to open for more
established acts, but within three months they realized their mistake and
she was the headliner.
For Sophia this meant that she now had a large budget to expand
her act into a full blown stage show. She didn't see the need to have a
full time band, so she hired the best studio musicians. Next she brought
in performers for background singers and dancers from Broadway.
Her shows received soaring reviews from even the most jaded
critics. Yes, the productions and costumes pushed the limits, but the
music was excellent and soon Madame Midnight had a large following.
Sophia was also a very astute businesswoman. She was careful not
to overextend herself and to keep the show fresh.
Unlike many other top performers, Sophia didn't maintain a large
staff. She also didn't have a large entourage. She maintained a small
staff of trusted associates. For any other needs she would hire
professionals to help her as required.
Also, she knew how to stay out of trouble. She was a light
drinker, didn't smoke and had no tolerance for drugs. She often laughed
about the fact that off stage she was quite boring.
She did have a few personality quirks. The biggest one was that
she was very superstitious. Sophia playfully disagreed; she said that her
beliefs weren't superstitions as they actually worked. To her, a
superstition was something that other people believed in.
Her range of beliefs ranged from what food to serve before a
concert to always starting the concert at the same time. The belief
about having at least one crossdresser on her staff being good luck was
her latest.
The foundation of this belief started in her youth. The producer
of a play, who her parents were working for, fired a transgendered makeup
artist. Almost everything went wrong with the production and the play
closed within a week. Her parents joked that the production had been
cursed by the fired makeup artist.
Sophia's first tour had a hairdresser who was transgendered. The
woman was very popular with the performers and was scheduled to be part
of the second tour. Unfortunately she was injured in a car accident a
before the tour started. Sophia attributed every problem with the tour as
due to the absence of the woman.
The next tour she ensured that the woman was back on the staff.
But the grind of the tour was too much for the hairdresser to take as she
retired at the end of the tour. This was what led Sophia to seek out a
crossdresser as a good luck charm. She figured that it wouldn't be
necessary for the person or persons to actually go on the tour, just as
long as they participated in the pre-tour events. Unfortunately she
couldn't find one, which led her manager to come up with a solution.
Chapter 11
After dinner, Kate drove Terry back to the office so he could pick
up his car. They noticed that the lights were still on in the office and
that Matt's car was still in his parking spot.
"Should we go in and see him?" asked Terry.
Kate nodded. "Sure, why not? I guess he's got to see us soon."
A few minutes later they were standing outside Matt's office.
Terry knocked on the doorframe.
"Hey, what're you still doing here?" he asked in his deepest
voice.
Matt looked up from his laptop with a startled look on his face.
"Oh...My...God!" he exclaimed.
"Well, what do you think?" asked Terry.
"You both look great," he stated as he stood up to greet them.
"They really did a great job on both of you. How do you feel about it?"
"I'll let you know tomorrow," replied Kate
"Fair enough," he replied. "Please have a seat."
The three sat down.
"Do you want something to drink?" asked Matt.
Kate shook her head.
"I need to get home and get some sleep, tomorrow's going to be a
long day," she replied.
"What about you...Terry," asked Matt.
"No, I better not, but thanks for asking," he replied.
"You're not required to be at Madame Midnight's until tomorrow
afternoon," said Matt.
"Yes, but I have to get ready. Maggie is stopping by to help me with my
makeup," replied Kate. She then shook her head. "I never thought I'd say
that."
Matt smiled. "Okay. Stop by tomorrow before you go there and I should
have your business credit cards. We'll take your photos in the morning
for your company IDs."
"Okay," replied Terry.
"I really appreciate what you're doing," said Matt. "Trust me; I will
make it up to you."
"We're counting on it," said Kate with a grin.
They talked for a few more minutes about their duties with Madame
Midnight before Kate and Terry left.
Chapter 12
Kate arrived home and unpacked her bags of feminine items. She then
removed her makeup and changed into her new PJs.
As she walked to her kitchen she noticed the movement of her attachments.
The bouncing of her breasts made it feel as if they were a part of her.
She filled up her kettle so she could have a mug of tea.
As the water boiled she thought about her situation and how her life had
changed around in the past few hours.
Up until today she had to hide the fact the she had urges to dress up as
a woman, now she had to act like she was female for the next three weeks
to pretend that she didn't like it. The absurdity of the situation had
her so conflicted she didn't know if she should laugh or cry.
It had been several years since she had last dressed, although the urges
hadn't gone away. It was one of the reasons why she had thrown herself
into her job. As long as she was busy she didn't have time to think about
her strange cravings. Oh, she still went to sites online, especially the
TG story websites, but that was her only outlet...until now.
The screeching of the whistle snapped her out of her thoughts
momentarily. She filled her mug with hot water and as the tea brewed she
thought about the reactions that she had at the transformation studio.
She doubted that she had adequately hidden her true emotions, especially
because Maggie worked with transgendered clients all the time. The good
thing was that Maggie was bound by the privacy act.
As she finished preparing her tea, she wondered if she could continue to
use Maggie's services after she was done with the job.
Kate then went into her living room and turned on her laptop to check her
email. Next she turned to one of the story sites to see if she could find
a story that matched her present situation.
***
Over at Terry's place he was also thinking about his situation. He
picked up his phone and called a friend.
"Hi," he greeted.
"So did you do it?" asked the man on the other end.
"Yep," replied Terry as he took a sip of Scotch.
"I have to admit that I'm very curious to see what sort of a man you
turned out to be," he replied.
"Well, give me a few days to get used to this and we can meet," Terry
replied coyly.
The man on the other end of the line laughed.
"So is that a yes? Or are you too insecure about your own masculinity to
meet me in public?" asked Terry.
The man laughed even harder.
"I'm cool about this if you are," he replied.
"I'm glad to hear that," said Terry.
"So, when do you want to go out on a guys night out?" he asked.
"I'll give you a call as soon as I know my schedule. I suspect that we'll
be busy for the first couple of days," replied Terry.
"Is that all?" he asked.
"No. All kidding aside this is a lot easier for me than it is for my
coworker. I want to make sure she can handle this," replied Terry.
"How did...she...turn out?" he asked.
"Physically she looks great," replied Terry. "I just know that she'll
have more obstacles than I will, and I don't want to see her get hurt.
She's a good friend."
"So you already think of your coworker as female?" he asked.
"It makes things easier," replied Terry.
"That makes sense...she's lucky to have such a good friend," he replied.
"Thanks," replied Terry. "Anyway, Blake, I can't wait for you to see me.
I'll call you soon."
"Sounds like a plan," replied Blake. "Good night, Terry."
"Good night," he replied.
Chapter 13
Kate was up early working on her makeup. Even with the detailed
instructions provided by Maggie, it wasn't easy. After several attempts
she figured that she looked good enough to go out...as long as no one
scrutinized her too much. She then removed the makeup and tried again.
Maggie arrived an hour later and nodded approvingly.
"Not bad, you're a quick learner," said Maggie. "However, go easy on the
eyeliner...you're not a teenager."
"Thanks," replied Kate.
"How did you sleep?" asked Maggie.
Kate wiggled her right hand back and forth.
"Part was due to nerves...and part due to getting used to my body," she
replied. She then pointed to her breasts. "How do you get used to them?"
"We grow into them slowly," replied Maggie with a grin.
Kate rolled her eyes. "Duh! That makes sense."
"Maybe I should have made you a blonde," said Maggie.
Kate laughed.
"Okay, let me touch up your makeup and then you can get dressed," said
Maggie.
Kate nodded.
Thirty minutes later Kate was admiring her reflection in the mirror. Her
outfit was a navy colored skirt, a light gray top, and two inch heels.
She really looked like a girl and a big smile appeared on her
face. She then realized that Maggie was looking at her and she
immediately changed her expression.
"Not bad...I guess," said Kate nervously.
It was all Maggie could do to not break out in a smile herself.
"I know I shouldn't do this, but we need to have a talk," said
Maggie.
"About what?" asked Kate. She then saw the look on Maggie's face
and nodded. "Is it that obvious?"
"I just hope you don't play poker," said Maggie. "Let's sit down
and talk, okay?"
Kate nodded.
Chapter 14
"So have you dressed before?" asked Maggie.
Kate shook her head.
"I thought about it, but I never had the opportunity," she confessed.
"Not even at Halloween?" asked Maggie.
"God no! I always went to the other extreme so no one would suspect,"
replied Kate. "You should have heard the complaining I did about this
job!"
"Makes sense," replied Maggie. "So, what do you consider yourself?"
Kate shrugged her shoulders.
"I'm not sure," she replied. "I've had...feelings that I've held in
about...wanting to be a woman."
Maggie nodded.
"So does that make me a transsexual?" asked Kate.
"That's not for me to say...I have my opinions...you need to find out for
yourself," replied Maggie. "I have seen the whole range of transgendered,
ranging from fetish to transsexual...and it's not my place to diagnose.
In fact I usually don't like to bring this up, but considering your
circumstances I feel I have to step in."
"What do you mean?" asked Kate.
"With most of my clients, they dress and then move back to their regular
lives. Because of your job situation, you're going to be living as a
woman for the next few weeks, and that could raise many unique concerns,"
she continued.
"Go on," said Kate.
"I think you should use the next few weeks as a test period...and then
when it's over you should seek professional help in sorting things out. I
know an excellent therapist who works with a lot of transgendered
clients," replied Maggie. "However, this is just my opinion, take it or
leave it."
"I want your opinion," said Kate.
"Honey, you need to find out what's right for you...don't think of
yourself as abnormal or anything like that. The important thing is to
feel whole," said Maggie as she reached over and took Kate's hands into
her own.
"Thanks," replied Kate.
Maggie then hesitated for a moment before talking again.
"What's wrong?" asked Kate.
Maggie shook her head.
"Nothing is wrong. I just wanted to add that while I think you should use
this time to sort things out...but be careful. Don't go too far with this
new found freedom...especially when it comes to being with others."
"You mean sex?"
Maggie nodded.
"I've seen some of my clients go a bit too far too fast and I don't want
to see you get hurt," continued Maggie.
"Oh," replied Kate.
"Look, if you need someone to talk to about this, just give me a call,"
said Maggie as she handed Kate a business card. "That's my personal
number."
Kate looked at the card and nodded.
"Thank you," she replied. "So when did you know about me?"
"The second you saw yourself fully dressed yesterday," replied Maggie.
She then looked at her watch. "What time do you have to be at work?"
"Ten," she replied. "Terry is going to pick me up at 9:40."
"Well, you have twenty minutes. Now when you know when you're going to be
home tonight, give me a call. I'll stop by with the rest of your
wardrobe," said Maggie. "It's going to be fun shopping for you."
"Um, can I ask a favor?" asked Kate.
Maggie nodded.
"Can you take me shopping sometime?" she asked.
"Sure, that will be fun," replied Maggie.
Chapter 15
Terry arrived on time. He was dressed in dark blue suit.
"You look very stylish, Terry," said Maggie.
"Thanks," he replied. "Where's Kate?"
"Here I am," she greeted as she stepped out of the kitchen.
"Wow! You look great," replied Terry. "You look much better in a
skirt that I ever have."
Kate rolled her eyes. "I'm not sure if that's a compliment or not.
I don't have anything to compare it to."
"It's a compliment," replied Terry. "And contrary to popular
belief I do wear skirts and dresses...I just prefer pants when I'm at
work."
Kate smiled back. "Okay, but after we change back I want to see
you do that at least once at work."
"I will," said Terry. "Maggie did a great job with you."
"Actually, she did most of this herself this morning," added
Maggie. "She's a fast learner."
"Impressive...but not totally surprising...she's always been a
fast learner," Terry nodded as he looked at his watch. "So, you ready to
get to work?"
"Sure. Let me get my bag," she replied.
"Please call me when you're done today. We'll have complete
wardrobes for both of you this afternoon. Oh, Terry, I'll call you when
your glasses are ready," said Maggie. "I think both of you will do fine."
"Thanks Maggie," replied Kate.
"We'll see you later," added Terry.
Chapter 16
They stopped at the office and picked up their new ID badges from
Matt. They also received some more instructions concerning their client.
Kate and Terry reviewed the directives in Matt's office.
"Actually, other than the obvious, her requests aren't that
difficult," stated Matt.
"I'm just glad that she didn't have a furry on her staff,"
muttered Terry.
"Yeah, that would be fun. I can imagine going into Whole Foods or
Trader Joe's dressed as a raccoon," added Kate.
Matt just shook in head in mock disgust. Deep down he was pleased
that they seemed to be back to their usual selves.
"Okay, okay, any questions?" he asked.
"No, you're right, most of the things on this list are pretty
normal," said Kate. "The good thing is that we have connections at many
of these stores."
Terry nodded. "I agree. What about the stores in Chicago, Philly,
and New York?"
"We're working on that. We're already contacting the businesses on
the list and you'll have a POC before the trips," said Matt.
"One last thing, what about security?" asked Terry.
"She has her own for personal protection. Of course the paparazzi
are always a concern. As always we've taken our own actions. We've also
reminded our business connections what will happen if they violate our
agreements," stated Matt. "They won't just be losing our business, but
that of every other firm in this state. They also know that we'll sue
them. Still be on your toes. The paparazzi would love to get some photos
of her behind the scenes."
"Will do," replied Kate.
While Mistress Midnight was far from shy when in the public, her
private life was kept a secret. She only did interviews while in
character and shunned publicity the rest of the time. Initially this had
started a feeding frenzy about the paparazzi and celebrity media to find
out what she was actually doing. But over the past few years they hadn't
turned up anything worth reporting. Even the rumors where pretty tame.
Still that didn't mean that they had given up and with a new tour about
to start their efforts would be renewed.
All employees used encrypted media devices. It was expensive, but
it was one more selling point to potential clients.
"Well, let's go see her," said Terry.
"Has security checked the car?" asked Kate.
Matt nodded.
A few years ago, a reporter had placed a GPS tracker on one of the
cars in order to follow one of the employees. It had only been discovered
following a minor accident. Since then, all employees' cars were checked
for tracking devices.
"Good luck," said Matt.
"Thanks," replied Terry who stood up and firmly shook Matt's hand.
"How was that?"
"Not bad," replied Matt with a grin.
Kate rolled her eyes as she shook Matt's hand, less vigorously
than Terry had.
"I appreciate what both of you are doing," said Matt as he shook
her hand. "Thank you."
As Terry and Kate left they ran into Trent Marcus one of their
coworkers.
"Holy crap, I barely recognized you!" exclaimed Trent. "I heard
what you were doing but I had no idea you would look so...real.
Especially you Keith."
"Thank you," she replied. "But in the meantime call me Kate."
Trent nodded as he turned to Teri. "And what do I call you?"
"Terry...but I spell it different. The advantages of having a
unisex name," he replied.
Trent nodded again as he rubbed his neatly trimmed goatee.
"I might suspect something about you...but Kate...hell I might
even try to pick you up in a bar," stated Trent.
"Sorry, you're not my type," she replied as she smiled back at
him.
Trent laughed.
"Well, I'm glad it's not me on this one. I can't believe what we
do for our clients," he said.
"Who are you working with right now?" asked Terry.
"No one nearly as exciting as you are; just a writer on a book
signing tour," he replied.
"Well have fun," said Kate.
Trent nodded.
"You too," he added as he watched them leave.
Chapter 17
Terry and Kate arrived at a theater that was serving as the
rehearsal location for the tour. It was located on the campus of a local
college. As it was in between semesters the campus was also empty. They
showed their ID badges and were lead into the theater where they were
introduced to Dan Carpenter.
Dan was a tall handsome man in his late thirties. His dark brown
hair was long, but neatly styled, as was his goatee.
"Pleased to meet both of you in person," he greeted as he studied
them. "I must admit that you look great."
"So we're acceptable?" asked Terry.
Dan nodded.
"I know this is a big accommodation, but it's appreciated. She was
really freaking out about this...issue...and your flexibility really
prevented a crisis," said Dan.
"So what happens once the tour starts?" asked Kate. "I mean, are
you going to bring in someone else?"
"We're working on that," he replied. "The fact that you're on the
staff now fills the void."
"Okay," replied Kate.
"Please follow me, I'll introduce both of you to her," said Dan.
They followed him to one of the dressing rooms. As they walked
they passed rows of costumes.
"Are all these for the upcoming tour?" asked Terry.
Dan nodded.
"Seems like a lot, how long is the show?" asked Kate.
"It usually runs two to three hours. However she likes to have
five hours of material so we can switch things around," he replied.
Terry let out a whistle.
"Seems like quite a production," he stated.
"She really gives a great show. To be honest I have no idea how
she manages it," said Dan. "Some of the production numbers last fifteen
minutes. But it's worth it. We've already sold out every show on the
North America part of the tour. Tickets for Europe and Asia will go on
sale next week and we're expecting the same."
"I bet the ticket brokers love that," said Terry.
"Not as much as you'd think. We set up our sales that members of
her fan club get first shot at tickets. Our computer program is designed
so that the real fans get a shot at the tickets first. Yes, some get
resold, but not that many...her fans are very devoted. She also holds
back a small number of tickets for each show which are given out at each
stop of the tour. What it costs us in ticket sales we easily make up in
fan support," explained Dan. "She's a real professional when it comes to
promotion. She does whatever it tales to ensure that the fans get what
they want."
Dan knocked on the door of the dressing room.
"Who is it?" asked a woman.
"Sophie, I have the assistants from the agency here," he stated.
"Great, come on in," she replied cheerfully.
Dan opened the door and then motioned for Kate and Terry to enter
the room.
A young woman dressed in a plush terry-cloth robe met them as they
walked into the room.
At first she looked confused and she glanced in Dan's direction.
"No, this is them, just as you requested," he stated.
"Wow! You both look great...you had me totally fooled," she
exclaimed as she gave Kate and Terry a hug.
"Well, we want to do this right," said Terry. "I'm Terry and this
is Kate."
"Pleased to meet both of you...please call me Sophie when we're in
private," she stated.
"And when we're not?" asked Kate.
"If I'm in character...and you'll definitely know, please call me
Madame Midnight. It's all part of the image and marketing. If I'm not and
we're around others... then call me Ms. Rodgers," she replied. "Please
sit down."
"We will, thank you Sophie," replied Kate as she sat down.
"You don't know how much I appreciate what you're doing. It takes
a huge load off my mind," said Sophie. "I know that my superstitions are
far from logical, but growing up in a theater family it becomes part of
you...if that makes sense. I know that it may seem weird, but if the tour
flops it won't be because of something I could have prevented."
Terry and Kate nodded.
"Now, the good thing is that I have a pretty normal lifestyle for
someone in my profession. I only act like a diva when I'm performing, so
there won't be too many strange requests," continued Sophie. "The cool
thing is that when I'm not touring I pretty much can do whatever I want
to do. But as I gear up for a tour I need help and that's where you two
will come in."
Neither Kate nor Terry spoke. They had played this game before and
they knew to wait before asking questions.
"I'm currently living in a hotel and because the paparazzi have it
staked out I cannot go out without causing a scene. I need someone I can
trust to take care of my personal needs. Once we start the tour, the
promoters will provide what I need, but between then and now, I need you.
I've heard good things about your company...you come highly recommended,"
she continued.
She then paused and took a sip of water.
"For the most part, Dan will provide you with what I need. I will
also require you to accompany me when I hit the talk show circuit in a
week or so," she said. "So, any questions?"
"What hotel are you staying in?" asked Terry.
"Dan will give you that. We're renting the whole place, this isn't
out of ego, it just makes it easier for my rather large production
company. It also makes sure that no one uninvited gets in," she replied.
"You'll be given access badges."
"Is there anything you need today, Sophie?" asked Kate.
Sophie smiled back and handed Kate a piece of paper.
Kate read the list and grinned.
"When do you need this?" asked Kate.
"Can you get them today?" she asked hopefully.
"I know just the place," replied Kate. "I can run out now and be
back in an hour."
"Really? You sound pretty sure of yourself Kate," replied Sophie.
"No matter how I'm dressed I know my job," replied Kate with a
wink.
Sophie laughed. "Okay, let's see what you're capable of."
Kate stood up and motioned for Terry.
"We'll be back in an hour," replied Kate.
Chapter 18
Even before they were in Terry's car, Kate was placing a phone
call.
"What does she want?" asked Terry as he pressed his car's entry
button.
"Magazines. Mostly specialty types, some are imports, not the
types you find at a regular newsstand," she replied.
"What sort of topics?" he asked as they got into his car.
"History, archeology , food, science, and genealogy," replied
Kate. She then put up her hand. "Hi, I need to check the availability of
some magazines."
She talked to the salesperson for a few minutes.
"Great, please set them aside, we'll be by shortly to pick them
up," said Kate as she hung up.
"Where to?" asked Terry.
Kate gave him directions.
"It's a specialty bookstore. I go there often," replied Kate.
"Are you okay with going in there...now?"
Kate gently smacked her forehead. "Shit! I wasn't thinking! I got
too much into 'work-mode' and forgot how I was dressed."
"I can go in for you," offered Terry.
Kate was about to say yes, but then shook her head.
"No, I'm cool with this. They're pretty eclectic there and I
shouldn't have any problems if someone recognizes me," she replied. "But
thanks for asking."
"No problem," replied Terry.
Ten minutes later Kate walked into the store and picked up her
order. She also picked up a few other issues she thought that Sophie
might like.
Thankfully the salesperson was someone new and Kate didn't
recognize.
A short time later they were back at the theater.
By the time they got back Sophie was getting ready for rehearsal.
"Here you go," said Kate as she handed Sophie the bag filled with
magazines.
Sophie's eyes got large with delight as she looked through the
stack of magazines.
"Thank you," remarked Sophie. She then paused as she saw several
magazines that weren't on her list. "Oh my, you're good! I have given up
finding these when I'm out on the road. Thank you!"
"My pleasure," replied Kate. "I read some of the same myself."
Sophie grinned. "This is one of my great pleasures. Reading really
helps me come down at the end of the day."
Kate nodded.
"Well, I have to get to work. Please see Dan, he'll go over the
rest of the week with both of you," said Sophie.
Chapter 19
The meeting with Dan lasted two hours and covered everything
ranging from Sophie's schedule to her personal needs and tastes.
"So, do you see any problems?" he asked.
Kate glanced at Terry who shook his head.
"No, everything looks pretty straight forward," she replied and
then she paused. "Well, besides the obvious."
Dan nodded.
"Well, I have to admit that you're handling it well. I've been
observing both of you and you're pulling it off," he replied.
"Well I can't speak for Terry, but when I'm working it's
easier...I get lost in the work," admitted Kate.
"I have to agree...walking into the men's room for the first time
was a bit nerve-racking," added Terry.
"I can imagine. But your sacrifices are appreciated. I've seen a
big change in Sophie's attitude since she saw you two. She's convinced
that the tour will be a success," said Dan. "We're all really grateful."
"You haven't seen our bill," said Terry with a smile.
"Don't worry about that...you'll be compensated for this," replied
Dan.
"Do you need us anymore today?" asked Kate. "We have to pick up the rest
of our new wardrobe."
"I also have to pick up my new glasses," added Terry.
"No, she'll be rehearsing for the next few hours and then go back to the
hotel. Can you be here at nine?" asked Dan.
"Of course," replied Kate.
"If you think of anything you need between now and then, please call us,"
added Terry.
"I will," he replied as he stood up.
Kate and Terry did the same and they followed him out to the
parking area.
"Take care and see you two tomorrow," said Dan.
Chapter 20
Kate glanced over at Terry and nodded.
"I like the frames, they really look good on you," she said.
"They're not bad," he replied as he looked at his reflection in
the rearview mirror.
The frames were black and rectangular in shape.
"That retro look is in," added Kate.
Terry nodded.
They were heading back to their homes after picking up their new
wardrobes.
"Well, today went pretty well," continued Kate. "Sophie's nice."
"I agree," replied Terry. "What do you think about Dan?"
"He seems easy to work with," replied Kate.
"Anything else?" he asked.
"Like what?" asked Kate.
"He was checking you out," said Terry.
"What? No way!"
Terry nodded.
"Trust me, he was," he replied.
"You sure he was checking me out?" asked Kate.
"Yes...it was pretty obvious," he replied.
"But he knows I'm a guy," countered Kate.
"So? Maybe he's turned on by that?"
"Great! As if my life wasn't complicated enough!" she exclaimed.
"Are you sure...I mean, I'm not that good looking."
"Kate, you are very cute as a girl," said Terry. "Seriously, I
look like a wimpy guy, but you're very attractive."
"Don't BS me," she countered.
Terry shook his head.
"Kate, I wouldn't do that to you," he replied.
She let out a sigh.
"I know...but I just wanted to blend in...I don't want to be
noticed...especially by a client's manager," she replied.
"I doubt he'll do anything," Terry replied. "But he is cute."
Kate turned and playfully punched him in the arm.
A short time later, they arrived at Kate's place. Terry helped her
carry up her things. They had to make four trips.
"I can't believe this is all for just three weeks," said Kate as
she looked at the bags plied on her bed. "What am I going to do with all
this when the job is over? Do you want any of it?"
"Not my style...too girly," replied Terry with a grin.
Kate flipped him the bird.
"My, aren't you a little bitch," said Terry as he laughed.
Kate just shook her head.
"I can't believe we're doing this....we must be nuts," she
exclaimed.
"Yes, but you have to admit that it's fun...scary, but fun."
"Maybe a little," she replied.
Terry looked at his watch. "I better get going; I have to unpack
my new wardrobe too. Call me if you need anything."
"I will," she replied. "Thanks for being your usual pain in the
ass self."
Terry bowed.
"My pleasure my lady," he replied.
Chapter 21
Kate finished organizing her new wardrobe. She had to remove some
of her male things and pack them away into the closet of her office.
She then looked at her reflection in the mirror. What Terry had
said intrigued her. Was she really attractive...and was Dan checking her
out?
She had the occasional fantasy about being with a guy when she
thought about being a woman, but she had never taken it any further.
Kate then remembered Maggie's words of warning.
Life had gotten very complicated she thought as she headed to the
kitchen to make dinner.
Kate looked through her fridge and pulled out some ingredients
including a chicken breast. Her mother had insisted that she learn to
cook and now that she was on her own it was a great skill to have. She
didn't have the love of cooking that her older sister had, but she knew
her way around the kitchen.
Tonight she was cooking chicken and rice. There was no real set
recipe, she would just season it based on what tasted good.
As the chicken cooked her mind again returned to what Terry had
said. She picked up her phone and called Maggie.
"Sorry to bug you, but I have something I have to talk about," she
stated.
"What is it, Kate?"
Kate told her what Terry had said.
"And how do you feel about this?" asked Maggie.
"A range of feelings from stupidity to fear. I never noticed a
thing!" replied Kate.
"That makes sense," replied Maggie. "What about the fact that a
man finds you attractive?"
"Mixed feelings...part of me is intrigued," admitted Kate.
She then told Maggie about her fantasies.
"And you've never acted on these feelings?"
"Never," replied Kate. "What should I do?"
"Just be careful...don't let your urges override your common
sense. You've only been dressed for a day...you have three weeks to go
and remember this is a job."
"Okay," said Kate as she checked on the rice.
"But when the job is done...and the feelings persist, then you
might want to explore them...but take your time...you have your whole
