Clarita was worried when Jr Counselor Disa Drake summoned her from class to attend Nefra. She knew things were advancing quicker than the Queen or her doctors had predicted. Seeing her standing in the throne room with Queen Astrid, she was relieved. "Keeli, we are going to attend a Queens Council," the use of her middle name told her this was an official function, not a social one. Still she was surprised to see not just the Phase Spider Queens, but all of the Queens throughout the Quadrants were here. Then she spotted the O'shawi Ancient, Tangie in attendance. "Queens of the Quadrant Cluster," began Astrid. "We are gathered her to choose the first Queen of Aviara, as well as to determine which Families will be included in the Royal Lineage." Now Nefra raised her hand to request attention. "The council recognizes Her Majesty Nefra of Draconia," stated Tarriana. The phase spiders were here give full weight, but this meeting was being conducted by the non-spider queens. "I request to defer my nominations to Princess Keeli. Might we discuss the aid that each Quadrant is preparing to send while she makes her selections?" All around the huge chamber every head nodded their consent. "W, what do I do?" Keeli asked. "The twelve most outspoken, and most revered Avian women are listed here on the tablet, as well as their known views and hopes for the future. Take your time and decide, but do not let my choices sway you. This will be your first official act." Nefra rested her hand on hers to give her reassurance as she skimmed over the twelve names. Nefra continued to converse with the other Queens about the aid and relief that they were sending to the planet. Keeli quickly made her own choices, noting that only one was not the same as Nefra's. She'd read about this Avian in the recent news downloads. She was currently incarcerated for speaking out against the planetary governor, more her views on women's rights, her opinions of the governments ban on free travel for its citizens mirrored her own. After placing her thumbprint next to the final name she tapped final, sending the information to Astrid as the Mediator and First Queen. It only took a few seconds for the vote tallies and name rankings to be produced. As they appeared on the screen, Keeli gasped in surprise. She'd been sure that she'd thrown her last vote away, who would vote for someone in prison? But there it was, the first Queen of Aviara, 'Quill Vegan'. It was quickly decided that eldest non arachnid Queen should make the announcement. Tangie announced the time and date of her planned arrival at Aviara, "Is that enough time? Or would you prefer to travel aboard Icarus?" "Thank you, I believe I will take one last trip along the Freeway. Besides I would like for Keeli to join me and help rehearse for the Coronation. She closed her eyes, her fingers tightening briefly on Keeli's hand as Blood Moon shot the portal. Then, even as the haze and fog was still clearing the monitor lapsed into a straight line with a steady tone. "Do something," screamed Keeli. Her voice ringing throughout the transport, heard over the radio by Nightmare as she escorted the Queens Transport. "I am sorry your Majesty, she left orders that we were not to attempt to revive her." Already both transports were slowing to a crawl. "Princess?" she looked around at everyone now. "I was given this letter for you six months ago, should anything happen," said Kissy the youngest Kitten. Keeli handed it to Leonida to open and read. 'Keeli,' 'If anything should happen to me before you finish school you are to contact the First Queen Astrid. It is imperative that you be crowned without delay to prevent unrest in the Quadrant. Kissy has been tasked with safeguarding the crown that I've had made especially for you. as my youngest Kitten it is tradition that she serve you to the end of her term as Kitten, unless you release her from her vows.' 'I am truly sorry that I could not be here in person to place the crown on your head.' 'Love' 'Nefra' finished Leonida. "Princess, your orders, please?" She was aware that the transports were moving much slower than expected. Nefra had been chosen to crown the Avian Queen. That was now her job to carry out. "Doctor, please prepare her highness with dignity. Kissy, be ready with the crowns. Leonida, take us to the Capitol. We have a Queen Coronate." "Someone notify," Astrid appeared in the kitchenette. "I am here. Don't worry, we'll do everything to her wishes." Keeli was aware that she was still in her everyday dress, her heels were only two inch pumps, and her hair was a mess. She barely had time to wash her face and reapply her makeup before Blood Moon was stopping amidst three IGP Transports. Kissy was busy brushing her hair out, and now she took the brush and set it down. "Get me a hair band please." She selected the one encrusted with rubies that Nefra had given her. She pulled her hair back then slipped the band into place holding it away from her face. "Well no time left to hit the Salon. Kittens, shall we?" she led the way as the Guardians filed off ahead of her, to form a moving barrier of protection. The IGP had already formed a corridor up the steps to the capitol building. Now she was aware that every camera, every eye was on her as she ascended the steps followed by the Royal Kittens.
