works as an accountant." "Oh I see then-I just have my dad, he works as

slowly, uh-huh so you say, she thought as she sipped on her non
alcoholic sparkling raspberry flavored water. They engaged in more
small talk, about friends, school and other things. By that point, they
had both finished their meals, and just digesting and waiting for the
check; Joey being the gentleman, offered to pay which was nice of him.
"So you were born in France, eh?" Joey asked another question, as he
had noticed that while her English was good, she still had a noticeable
if a bit clipped accent. "Oui, oh yes, I was born just outside of
Paris," Chloe retorted quickly but gracefully. "My father and mother
met in Paris as their companies ended up working together for some
time. After a courtship, they married and had moi," she stated
empathically, then giggled a bit. Joey laughed in reply, but rather
awkwardly. Finally the waiter came with the bill, and having paid, the
two left as Joey had picked her up and had offered to take her back
home.
Joey's car was lot more run down, used, but nice enough for Chloe's
tastes. She sighed as he opened the door for her, she smiled to him
then sat down in the passenger seat. Joey then got into the driver's
seat and off they go. As they go through the area, Chloe tried to place

on Chloe thought. Joey was busy driving so he must not have noticed,

They get back to Chloe's house later that evening, she asked him to

about, only really coming back at nights to sleep or the weekends when

dad home?" "Oh yeah well he's out and about but usually comes back on

going...." but before he could finish Chloe then gave him a kiss on the

Chloe took in Morton for a moment. He was quite the stocky build,
clearly indicating he had done desk work most of his time for the
Agency. His head was balding, and had on thick glasses around his warm
brown eyes. He wore usually a used business suit but tonight he had on
a plain white T-shirt with a pair of used green plaid pajama pants. "Is

"Oh but we are not done yet," Chloe proclaimed as she got up and went
