Molly pinged me again to tell me to change my route a bit. Not so much that people were tracking us as there was a military base where it wouldn’t hurt for me to make an appearance, and they had some special forces troops there learning tracking skills. These included using dogs and counter-tracking techniques. It seems the instructor is an elevated dick who couldn’t follow a blood trail from the blood dripping off the person bleeding out two feet away from him as the person slowly bled out. Multiple generals, colonels, and their staff were here to monitor the evaluations of these groups, which the instructor said were the best in the world. It works with the place in my head to give me information and enhance things, such as computer-enhanced vision. I got a message from Molly about someone making a top-secret request to arrange for you to visit a military base where they have special forces training for tracking and counter-tracking. The instructor can’t track coffee stains on a white carpet.”
“Daddy, are you God, or at least a god?” Ellen asked.
I chuckled before saying, “I ask myself that a lot, sweetheart. Those I have asked what they thought said depends on what makes qualities make someone or something a god. Who knows, maybe I am. “Is April just like you?” Ellen asked.
“No. April can shield herself, and there are odd things she does, but I don’t know how much of that is some sort of superpowers or Paula’s DNA,” I answered.
When we got near the base, I pulled into a gas station.

No matter what the trainer said, the dog jerked forward to start licking Ellen’s face and then sat beside her, ignoring her handler’s command. When Ellen told the dog to return to the teammate, the dog obeyed the dog handler again. She petted each of the tracking dogs.

“Can you fly a gunship and do live-fire exercises?” she asked.
I smiled and said, “Don’t know, but I’m willing to find out. I seem able to fly any jet I put my butt in, so it would make sense that I could fly a helicopter.”
“That is good because we don’t have any fighter jets here, but we have a lot of odd gear that arrived for you. I’m curious about it since it doesn’t appear to weigh anything,” she explained. “Unless you forbid it, I am ordered to accompany you everywhere on the base and in any military aircraft you agree to fly. I will also need to change into my flight gear. We must do so in the same locker room.”
