I looked out of my window and sighed, the stars were out again that
night, hundreds of them.
To most people, starts are pretty things in the sky, to some they are
big balls of gas billions of miles away... but to a girl like me they
were something else. they were a hope.
Sure everybody hears the stories that you can wish upon a star, and by
my reckoning I had wished on pretty much every one going. yet for all
that wishing, my wish never came true, I was still stuck as a guy...
sure I gone to the doctors, and come to terms with being transsexual,
and there was stuff happening there, but they couldnt give me the real
thing, the life I should have had.
I know very much what pinocchio felt, looking up at the stars, only I
was wishing to be a real girl.
...one last try I told myself, one last wish...
I pick out the brightest star in the sky.
"Please, please make me a real girl"
... and then nothing.
I sighed again and started to turn from the window when something
grabbed my arm.
"Not so fast missy!"
I turned around in shock and see a bright glowing person on the other
side of the window, and they just happened to be hovering sevral stories
above the ground and was holding my wrist... which was very impressive
because there was a closed window between us. I started staring at the
persons face, it looked like a 16 year old boy, but was distinctly more
gold and shiney than most of the boys I know, and he had slightly
pointed ears that made him look like an elf. I opened my mouth, though
not to say anything in particular, I think I had just forgotten to keep
it closed and gravity took advantage.
"Oh come off it lady, you wish non stop for years and when something
actually magical happens you fall apart? thats pathetic."
I blinked, decided to see if I couldnt plug my mind back in the right
way again and failed completely, if it was possible, my jaw dropped
further still.
"Ugh, ok, fine, be gaumless, I'm taking you to the office anyway."
and with that he tugged my arm, pulling me through the window as if it
wasnt there, and before I realised it, he was pulling me far into the
night sky with clouds passing by getting my clothes wet.
"Umm..." I managed to communicate.
"Ah, so we are firing up the mental engines are we? Just super."
"uh, just who are you... if you dont mind me asking?"
"Me? my names TinkleSpindle Duddywinks."
I gave the boy a perculiar look.
"Hey, where I'm from thats a perfectly normal name, every time I come
down to earth everybody has to give me that stupid look!"
I could tell I was getting him cross, so I decided I might as well
introduce myself.
"Well in that case, you probably think my names funny, it's-"
"I know what your name is Andy, for fiznuts sake, if I went down taking
random people back all the time I would get into trouble..."
TinkleSpindle look a little paranoid, "... again" he added.
And then there was suddenly a flash of white and when my eyes re-
adjusted I found myself in a very perculiar place indeed, if you can
picture a waiting room, with seats placed around the room, a reception
desk, that is basically it... only the walls looked like outer space, I
would have said that the wallpaper was just covered in stars and pretty
nebulas, if it wasnt for the fact that the stars were twinkling, and I
could see comets fly past near the ceiling where the light hung from.
another perculiarity was that doors appeared and dissapeard around the
walls for people to walk through. TinkleSpindle walked me past a few
people sitting in the waiting chairs over to the reception desk.
"Hello Linda, can I sign this one over to you?"
I looked behind the reception desk to see a rather portly woman who
smiled pleasantly and had a similar glow and ears that TinkleSpindle
did, she put on a pair of glasses with elaborate curly frames and
flipped through a few papers on her desk before pulling out one with my
name at the top.
"Ah, you're early for once Duddywinks."
"Well actually, I was told to make this case my priority," he said,
with a tone that sugested he clearly never wanted to take me here.
The receptionist peered over her glasses at TinkleSpindle.
"Ah, so she is one of your little misshaps is she?"
I looked over to TinkleSpindle who looked a little agitated.
"Whatever, she's here now ok?"
And with that he marched over to a wall, and as he did so a door opened
up to let him through, and through it I distinctly heard loud music,
before it shut behind him.
"Well dear, I'm sorry for the delay, it's been ever so tricky since we
organised, and he hasn't really helped matters."
I turned to the receptionist feeling very puzzled.
"What's the matter dear?"
"Umm, just where am I?"
"Oh goodness, did he not tell you before he brought you? That boy will
be the death of me, a right red giant he'll make."
I had the distinct feeling I was missing something.
"Oh now it's allright dear, now I assume you have been making wishes am
I right?"
"...yes."
"Well there you go, you wished on a star, we are stars, and we are going
to sort that wish out for you."
"You're a star? ...and you work as a receptionist?"
"Of course dear, it sure beats the amount of paperwork the actual office
stars do, and here I get to spend more time with humans, I love my job
really."
"Stars do Paperwork?"
"Well yes dear, well, I better explain things a bit better, as you may
know, stars grant wishes, but we found that each granting wishes on our
own was tricky, the brightest stars ended up with all the work and the
dimmer ones who needed the practice didnt get a chance, so we all got
together, and formed a wish granting company 'WISH Inc.' that way we can
spread the workload and be much more efficient, well thats the idea..."
"It's not that efficient?"
"Well we have a bit of a backlog from organising the company, thats why
we took so long to get round to your particular wish, however some
people havent helped matters much."
She gave a slight frown in the direction that TinkleSpindle went.
"Anyway, you're here now and thats all that counts, please feel free to
take a seat whilst a consultant becomes available dear."
"Um, thank you." I smiled at the receptionist.
As I sat down, I realised that the shock had subsided and that this was
all totally amazing, I was talking to stars, I had flown into space, and
they said they were going to grant my wish.
I looked around and saw a coffee table that seemed to be made of a
nebula cloud, and on it was a selection of magasines. I picked up a
magasine titled "Modern Sirius" and it had articles such as "How to cope
with a loved on becoming a black hole" and "Tips to brighten up your sex
life with Hydrogen" I put the magasine back down, and tried very hard
not to picture stars having sex.
"Andy, is there an Andy here?" I shot up and saw an attractive man...
err... star, uh, starman, blushing suddenly when I rememberd what I was
just thinking of.
"Ahh, come on through, we are ready for you now." He led me through a
door that appeared in the wall, and with another flash of light I found
myself in a strange office like set-up, only with the same outer space
type walls and decorations.
The man sat down behind his desk and motioned for me to sit down in the
chair in front.
"So, you want to be a real girl then?"
I couldn't help grinning. "Oh yes please!"
"Well that's not a problem, and because we are at fault anyway, you will
get a bonus wish too."
"Wait, you are at fault you say? How come?"
"Ah, well, no doubt he didn't tell you, but TinkleSpindle granted both
your parents wishes when they were contradictory, your mother wished for
a girl, your father wished for a boy. Normally when that happens the
star should grant neither and let nature take its course, but
TinkleSpindle in his infinate wisdom decided you should be a girl in
mind and a boy in body. You won't believe the trouble he causes us."
"So it's his fault that I was born as a boy!?!"
"Yes, and so, in addition to granting your wish to be a real girl, we
will give you one extra wish as well, but first things first, let's get
you the right body, shall we?"
And with that he clicked his fingers and a large glossy catalogue
appeared on his desk. He motioned for me to pick it up and take a look,
and I couldn't help but giggle at what it was.
I actually got to flick through a catalogue to pick out a body that
would suit me. I took an average sized body, made sure I picked a foot
size where I could actually get nice shoes, I decided on some C cup
breasts, and curly hair half way down my back.
"Will that be all then? Not want to change your eye colour or anything?"
"No thanks, I like them blue," I beamed back, this was so awesome.
"Ok, now I have to point out that only you will remember you were a boy,
it gets hard for us to grant wishes otherwise."
"That's totally cool, it means I can ask out this boy I like, he would
have said no if he knew I used to be a guy."
"Well we are all set then!"
And with that he clicked his fingers and I felt myself change. It only
took a couple of seconds, but it felt really nice. Once it had happened
I looked down, brushed my curly hair out of my face and saw my boobs...
"Awesome!"
"I'm glad you're happy with the change, and have you given any thought
to what your second wish might be?"
I smiled a little, in the past few minutes I had given a little thought.
I told the man my wish and he laughed very loud, said it would be a
pleasure to grant my wish. He clicked his fingers and led me back into
the reception. Within seconds a door opened up, letting loud music into
the reception and a 16 year old stargirl came stampeding out with a
total look of rage across her face. She had massive boobs, and was
wearing a mini skirt and punk boots.
"WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME!?!" she demanded of the man who granted my
wish.
"Calm down now TinkleSpindle, Andrea here made a wish that you have to
go through what she did until you fix all the messes you have made."
"AND YOU GRANTED THAT!?!"
"I most certainly did, I think that that one wish of hers has done WISH
Inc. a great favour"
TinkleSpindle was clearly exceptionally pissed. by my guess, she had
alot of things to fix before she could be a guy again.
After watching her storm out again, I was led over to the receptionist
who was laughing so hard, she had to take a minute before she got
somebody to fly me home.
When I got back I found myself back in my window looking up at the
stars.
"Andrea, dinner's ready!" came a shout from downstairs.
"Coming Mom!"
I turned back to the window, looked and up at the sky.
"Thanks."

Notes:
This is my first story after lurking a lot on fictionmania, and its
prolly a bit of a jump to make my own universe on my first go, but when
I thought of it I couldnt get it out of my head so there you go, feel
free to use WISH inc or any of the characters in your own story.
WISH Inc grants many types of wishes, but they often refuse dangerous
wishes and cant garuentee good results with selfish wishes.
oh, and if you make a story where TinkleSpindle is fixing things to turn
back into a guy thats awsome, she has messed up a few thousand wishes at
least, and some of them are pretty big, and some of them are a just
hilarious :)
