Corey walks up to us with an arm load of camp chairs and sets them up for us. “I'll be back with some ice tea for ya'll in a jiff”. “Thanx Corey. But—anyway--yes ma'mm, knowing how to fall off is paramount—keeps you from getting hurt. You let go of the gas, and come up off the seat—the bike goes dead, no problems there”. “What about that getting hurt part Matthew—how do you bois handle emergencies”? Asks Mr. Abernathy.
“Every b o y out here is trained in basic first aid. They all know how to treat a spider or snake bite—how to pull you from the water, give CPR or mouth to mouth. About half of them can even set a broken bone. A few can identify over 25 kinds of snakes. We have first aid kits, and basic meds at all times”. “Well—that's impressive”. “Thank you Mr. Abernathy—so see, if ya'll let Johnny hang with us this week—tomorrow, like I said , will be school. As the crew continues with it's busy setting up of camp, Mr. and Mrs. Abernathy watch in awe. Totes are unloaded, tents set up, Corey bring the ice tea, and the center fire is now glowing. As it get close to dusk, Chief Big Horn finally shows. I stand up and give a whistle--- “Everybody in ! The Chief and his two sons sit with me and Dustin, and the Abernathy's as we fill them in more on the activities of the week, and assure them that Johnny will be well taken care of. The two disappear into one of the pup tents on the edge of the camp site.

They agree to spend the night with us. I tell Dustin to load up the Abernathy's in the jeep, and ride them up and show the bath houses. They return in a few minutes pleased with the set up. Finally I announce, “quite time”. Mrs. Abernathy tilts her head with a look of curiosity on her face. The Chief and sons depart. I respond to Mrs. Abernathy-- “camp protocol—10 PM. Quite time. A couple of hours later, the Abernathy's have retired to their tent, and me and Dustin and Johnny pile in the jeep for a final trip to the bath house.
