Summer two-a-day practices are a rite of passage for the Texas high school football player. The players arrived at their new high school, two weeks before the start of the new school year. Sure, they were only going to the football locker room, the football practice fields and also the weight room; but the psychological advantage of being able to GO to high school, earlier, was a definite positive feeling for the young soon to be high schooler.
Freshmen did not have their own cars ... yet. Turning sixteen years old is the finish line for kids to gain the privilege of a driver’s license. An ultimate test of your coolness was whether or not you could get an upperclassman to actually care enough about you, to offer you a ride home after practice.
Another instant perk for the new football playing freshman, was that instead of the rare overly developed middle school girl, the hallowed halls of high school promised to be overflowing with ... not girls, but women.
According to the myths perpetuated in middle school locker rooms all over the state, these women were going to be ready to drop their panties and do unspeakable things to and with you, simply because you played on the football team. Hell, they might even invite your friends along to watch or even join in. That was a well known ‘fact,’ and was often confirmed by a guy who is friends with another guy, whose brother told him about an annual party where it almost always happened!
Tim had heard some of the stories but mostly snippets of stories overheard, via the braggadocio of middle school boys in the locker room after gym class. But since he was not a part of the athletic cliques, he never heard the entire story, so he took them all with ‘a grain of salt.’
But one thing he did not take with ‘a grain of salt’ was his new found love of physical exertion he enjoyed during the summer months. He’d been released from the hospital when, according to his doctors, the cause of his recent maladies was found to be a tapeworm mysteriously introduced into his system. The resulting weight loss, combined with amazingly productive bowel movements and gas explosions, had forced a four day mini-vacation in the hospital’s care.
Tim knew the hospital visit was unnecessary from a physical standpoint, but understood the need to create a patsy for his relatively sudden body transformation. The nanites introduced to his young body, immediately paid dividends. The mental adjustments and improvements were immediately apparent, and the entire process won his approval once his body began losing weight, and gaining height and muscle mass.
A few days after leaving the hospital, Tim’s father Raymond made good on his promise to get some free weights, as well as a boxing heavy bag. He placed both on the covered porch in the back yard. He also purchased a large box fan from a junkyard. The fan had been used in a factory that had since closed. It was one of four fans used to bring air into the 100,000 foot factory floor. It worked and brought a strong breeze into the covered patio. The patio was covered by a corrugated metal roof. It had support poles in the middle and at the two far corners not attached to the house. On the far corner of the patio, a lattice featuring an overgrown rose bush provided some privacy, but the far end was left open. The new fan was placed in the far corner away from the thorny rose bush. When the roses bloomed it was a beautiful sight ... otherwise, not so much.
Tim spent the rest of the summer working out every morning from sunrise until about noon. Then he would come back inside, take a shower, eat lunch and have his mother drop him off at the library. The closest was a couple of miles away next door to the middle school Tim would have attended if he lived two streets west. But there was also a new city satellite library in his new high school which doubled as both a city, and a school library. As he was continuing his workouts, he remembered his future self made a point in his introductory letter to not only work out physically, but mentally. The letter actually suggested visiting the library. Tim found that winding down from his high intensity workouts with a different couple of books every day in a different subject; was, in fact, wonderful.
His body was quickly transforming from it’s previous pear shape, into a solid rectangle, with his shoulders and upper body widening and quickly overtaking the width of his waist. This was becoming simpler to do, since his waist was disappearing. His hair was now straight and silky black, reaching down to the middle of his neck rather than the conservative curly dark brown it had always been. Tim’s new hair style was a point of contention with his mother, but she chose to swallow her tongue when she noticed her son was now taking more care, in his grooming.
In the past, Juanita had to remind Tim to wash and comb his hair, since Tim’s natural reaction was to let it go as it dried rather than attempting any styling. As a growing adolescent, Tim never worried about grooming, since his ego was tied to his body. Since both were down in the dumps, that was his general look. She noticed with his physical improvements, he now also had a new attitude on his grooming, to help accentuate the new appearance. That generally made her happy. But the change in attitude and appearance, brought up motherly concerns about her child changing, drastically, right before her eyes.
A summer of workouts every morning, followed by visits to the library, were doing wonders not only for Tim. The entire family seemed to follow his lead though not as dramatically. Juanita changed the family’s diet, by taking more care to prepare healthier meals.
Raymond, rather than stop by the cafeteria or go to a restaurant and pick up something for lunch, found himself bringing a lunch prepared for him by his wife. Since she had always been a great cook, he didn’t mind, since it was always delicious. He was initially afraid of some peer pressure, but he quickly realized that when he was the boss, his dining habits were not really the concern of those he managed. They, of course, noticed; but, it wasn’t the sort of thing they would worry about.
Tim’s little sister Carmen was always a bit of a book worm, but she was also a never one to be quiet. She accompanied Tim every few days to the library, so she could get new books to read, herself. She also noticed her brother did not spend his time in the fiction side of the library. She saw he was actually reading some science and reference books. She was intrigued, since it was another change.
Carmen put her book down on the table behind Tim and hugged him from behind. She always knew she could not reach around him since he was large but she could always squeeze him and get a good hold onto him to extend the hug. He was now larger than before but when she tried to squeeze him it was like trying to squeeze a brick.
“Ooof. You’re too big, now,” she said. She released the hug and pulled out the chair next to her big brother as she asked, “Whatcha reading?”
“It’s a book about ‘The Big Bang Theory.’”
“Oh, I like that show, Sheldon is funny even though he is not really trying.”
“No, honey, not the TV show. It is a theory in science that the universe, everything around us and inside us ... from galaxies and stars and planets, to the boogers in your nose ... all started as one BIG explosion. When it is settling down everything was formed over time. This was a long time ago and some scientists think the explosion is still happening.”
During the explanation, Tim had playfully grabbed his sister’s nose and tugged lightly to emphasize his point.
“Why are you reading about that? We aren’t going to school for like a month or something. That sounds a lot like homework.”
“Well, why did you read those Harry Potter books when they came out?”
“They were interesting and fun. I wanted to see what happened next, so I kept reading each book when it came out.”
“So did you pass the test in school on Harry Potter?”
His sister giggled and said, “No, silly, we didn’t have a test on Harry Potter. I read it cause it was fun.”
“Well, that’s why I’m reading this,” he wiggled the book. “I’m reading this, ‘cause to me it’s fun.” Tim looked down at his watch and realized it was almost time to go home. “Did you find a book you wanted to read?”
“Yeah, I already downloaded it to my tablet so I can read it whenever I want.”
“All righty, then. Let me call Mom to pick us up, so we can go home for dinner.”
Tim called for his ride and went to return the book he was reading to the shelves. With the enhancements from the nanites, he read the entire book in the first two minutes after he sat down with it, and had perfect recall of what he’d read. He had kept the book open while he was writing some theories for a few programs he was working through, in his mind.
“Excuse me, but I heard what you said to that little girl and that was just one of the sweetest things I have ever heard.”
A mousy brunette librarian he recognized from his many visits was standing in the aisle with a couple of other scientific texts in her hand. He remembered seeing her name tag from other visits. It said Rebecca, although she did not seem to be wearing her name tag at that time.
“I’ve seen you in here almost all summer long, reading over different scientific textbooks that we normally don’t have anyone except for a few teachers from the high school reading. Are you in college?”
Tim smiled because his new body must have made him seem older than his real age.
“Oh, no, ma’am. I’m going to be starting as a high school freshman in the new school year, but I’ve always had a natural inclination toward science. When I finish my physical work out at home, I start my next work out, right in here.”
Right after what he said left his mouth he realized it must have sounded awfully conceited to announce the first thing that he was working out.
“Wow, you are a pretty big one for a freshman. Are you going to be playing sports for the Rough Riders during your four years here at Roosevelt?”
“Yes, indeed. I am all signed up to play football this fall. I’m really excited about it cause it is the first time I have ever played, and, well ... I just can’t wait.”
Tim didn’t realize he was wringing his hands with excitement.
“Well, I can see that. My husband coaches freshman football. Have you met him yet?”
“No. I figured we were going to meet right before the two-a-day practices start. I heard they would let us know when we would be starting but I haven’t seen a letter, yet.”
“Well, I’ll tell you what. I know for a fact the coaches are already going over the calendars and getting stuff ready, to get started for the next season. They weren’t in, today; but I do know they will be in tomorrow, because they are getting a shipment of new equipment. They’ll be unpacking boxes all afternoon long. At least that is what Mario tells me. For all I know, it might take them thirty minutes to open and organize everything, and then they spend the rest of the day watching old football highlights remembering what might have been,” she said, and laughed, letting Tim know she was kidding.
Just then Carmen returned from retrieving her backpack, and tugged on Tim’s shirt to let him know she was ready to go outside and wait for their ride.
“Oh my goodness! I plain forgot to introduce myself. I’m Tim Murphy, and this is my sister Carmen,” he said while hugging his little sister to his side.
Although Tim knew her name, he let her make introductions. “Well I am Rebecca Barrett. I am a librarian here at Roosevelt and my husband is the head freshman football coach, so you will get to know him soon enough.”
“My brother is going to be an awesome football player. He has been working out all summer in our backyard. First he got dad to get all these weights and even this big heavy boxing bag that Tim hits all the time. Then he made these long boxes out of wood and put them in the backyard so he can crawl all over them and practice moving on them, real fast. Those boxes are almost as long as the whole backyard. It is so awesome now to see him do it. He can crawl on all fours faster than I can run along side of him. But I think I’ll beat him, someday, I just need to practice like Tim.”
Carmen was obviously getting worked up bragging about her big brother when his phone rang. He checked the caller ID, and answered to his mother that they were coming right out.
“Okay, Carmen, calm down. That was Mom. It’s time to go.”
“Oh, good. I’m getting hungry. Bye, Miss Barrett, it was nice to meet you. I hope the librarians at my school this year are as nice as you are.”
“Yes. Mrs. Barrett, it was a pleasure to meet you. Hopefully we can get your husband a winning season in football.”
Tim, holding his sister’s hand, walked down the hall to the front entrance. It is a little bit of a longer walk for the two, but Juanita said getting to that entrance/exit was an easier drive for her. A little walk to make it easier for his mother was not a difficult thing to do.
“Becca, I’m home!” the physically fit, highly tanned man announced as he walked in the front door of a modest three bedroom, two bath home. “Whew! I was finally able to figure out why the field had not been prepped for the two-a-days.”
Reaching the kitchen, where his wife was putting the final touches on their dinner, he gave her a quick hug and kiss.
“Apparently the AD (Athletic Director) did not put in the work order for the janitors to do the work, so they rescheduled other things to be done, when they should have been prepping the field. So the earliest we can get to the field will be after the actual first couple of days in our two-a-days. Ugh. How was your day, darling?”
“Not too bad. I actually met someone I think you are going to enjoy meeting, real soon,” she answered. Coach was dutifully paying attention. “I have seen him in the library almost every day, all summer. He is in there every weekday, but at least two or three times a week he comes in with who I discovered today is his little sister. I’m telling you Mario, I thought he was like a college student with his daughter, or something, working on some sort of term paper.”
Now thoroughly interested in his wife’s story, Coach Barrett pulled a breakfast bar stool over to the kitchen prep area his wife was currently using to get comfortable.
“Ohh? Do tell. What caught your attention about this guy?”
“Well, when you see him, you will understand my initial reaction. In fact, I have seen several young ladies eying him like fresh meat, but he was absolutely oblivious. Anyways, I over heard him explaining to his little sister why he was reading up on the Big Bang Theory. Not the simple pseudo-science books most high school kids use for more advanced papers, but the actual hard science doctoral thesis publication. If he becomes a teacher, the way he convinced his little sister to read more stuff that interests her, was absolute genius.”
Gossip rags are like cockroaches: there are millions of them everywhere and you just can't kill them. The names change from "Galaxy" to "Nova" to "Star Struck" but they're all the same. I never saw the cameras nor the low-lifes behind them but starting the next day there were pictures of Tink on the back of my bike all over the bloody things. Apparently I was her sex-slave, or she was my kidnap victim or some other outrageous bullshit. It was annoying. Luckily I don't answer my...
“Damn, man,” Frank Robinson fumed as he slammed his right hand and forearm on the roof of the Ford Explorer. “Why the fuck did you do that, man?” Tim was about to slide into the passenger seat but stopped himself and stood back up to look at the driver and captain of the defensive side of the school’s varsity football team. “What are you talking about? I got a map to the real party right here,” Tim answered, a bit confused by his friends’ change in attitude. “Dude, never. Never. Never....
His smile was wide as he made his way down the hall to his room. He heard his mother showering and going through her processes for bed. His dad just gave a halfhearted hello as he walked past their bedroom door. His dad was busy watching TV. Tim turned on the overhead light as he entered his room and immediately closed and locked the door. He quickly blew a kiss to Cindy on the wall, sat down at the desk, and was taking off his shoes when his mom knocked. Tim unlocked the door. “Hey, I...
I woke up to a pair of black eyes staring into mine only centimeters away. "I must be in heaven," I whispered. "Well," Leanne replied with a slight grin on her lips. "Ah will say of all the first words ya could have when returning from the dead those certainly saved yer arse a stern talking to." "I love you," I whispered again. "I wanted to say that before they..." "Enough," she said placing a finger lightly over my lips. "We know and that's enough." Her fingers moved up to...
The congratulatory pats on the back and raucous shaking from the freshman football team still in the locker room were easily heard outside the locker room where many parents and fans were waiting for the player-of-the-game to come out. Tim finished transferring his stuff from the freshman locker area into the JV locker room. Johnnie and the rest of Tim’s friends were sitting around waiting for him so they could make an appearance at the Sombrero Rosa’s across the street where many of the...
-Brad & Patricia- "Well there you are," Pat said happily when she opened the door. "We were wondering when you'd show up. You're a day late and we started worrying." "Sorry," Brad said looking embarrassed. "One of my other families was having a little problem and it took me longer than I expected. Hopefully you haven't run out of anything because of my screw-up." "It wasn't a screw-up if you were helping someone," Pat admonished. "We have plenty; we just worried about...
“So, you didn’t see anyone when you got out of the restroom?” Raymond asked his son while the two were in the front yard doing a final rinse of all the paint splashed on the family car. “No, sir. I opened the door and looked both ways, but no one was there, and a few minutes later, when I left the locker room, I also didn’t see anyone,” Tim answered but paused before continuing. “Now that I think about it, Dad. I didn’t even see the guys leave the restroom. I didn’t hear any rumors about...
The coin flip at the start of the game was interesting. The Churchill Chargers sent their entire offensive line to the fifty-yard line to meet the captains for the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The five young men were not precisely marching, but it looked as if they walked in perfect step with each other. It wasn’t with the same timing as a military march, but the center would take action, then the guards on either side would step, followed by the tackles on the outside. It was almost...
There was something different in the locker room the following Monday morning before practice. Tim could almost feel it in the air as he entered. The normal early birds were already getting ready for first-period practice and, as usual, Tim was the first freshman to arrive. He was not alone for long, though. Others would begin arriving in a few minutes. After gathering his locker basket and changing into his workout shirt and shorts, Tim heard the main door to the locker room slam against...
-Daniel- Waking up in a hospital isn't exactly new to me unfortunately but waking up in one with a dark-haired angel curled up by my side sure was. If you have to wake up in a place like that I heartily recommend it. I was flat on my stomach with Sumalee snuggled in next to me. They must have given me some pain meds because I didn't feel anything but if they'd laid me face down there was probably a reason so I wasn't about to roll over. However the fact that they let someone in here with...
Monday morning, the change in the emotions of the student body was palpable. While the student body usually disregarded the results of the football team’s accomplishments, school pride was evident this day. Not only was their happiness of the win over Judson wafting strongly through the halls, but the following weekend was also Homecoming. This year, the Roosevelt Rough Riders were facing the Robert E. Lee Volunteers. The student body was already making plans for celebrating the next win over...
Interlude: Pat and Brad The doorbell chimed its warning and Patricia slowly made her way to the front of the house to answer it. Fucking debt collectors, she thought tiredly. Haven't they figured out you can't get blood from a stone? We already live in government housing. What the hell else do they think they can take away from us? One more month, Harold, just one more God-damned month! Patricia's husband had died almost eight years before in the last month of the war leaving behind his...
-Tampa- "Whatever are you fretting about, Bradley?" Grace Duev asked from under her big pink floppy hat. She had pulled her sunshades down and was peering at him over the rims with her gray eyes. "Nothing, Grace," he responded while moving again in his lounger putting the lie to his answer. "Bullshit," Patricia added and Brad's eyes swerved to look at her. "You're squirming like a slug on a hot rock. What put a burr up your shorts?" "Maybe it's too hot for him," Samantha...
-The VBS Widows Auxiliary, Chapter 1, First Meeting- Patricia's heels clicked on the floor as she hurried into the café. She was a little bit late but it took longer to settle her youngest, Patty, down than she had expected. There were a few tables occupied but most were singles and just a few couples. Then she spotted a table with two women and one man all of them looking at her expectedly. She moved purposefully towards them until she stood behind one of the two empty chairs. "Grace?"...
-Daniel- "God-damn it good to see you, you old fart!" Antigua sighed when we finally came up for air. Or at least she did; I'm not so sure I had any say in the matter whatsoever. "It's good to see you again too, squirt," I chuckled. "I guess you want me to give him back now, don't you?" she asked somebody over my shoulder. "Sooner or later," I heard Alee laugh. "Down girl! Behave yourself," I said smacking her bottom lightly. "Well, that isn't going to do it," she...
“Hey, Hunk! How’s your day going so far?” Cindy Diefendorf, the buxom blonde ‘Queen of the School,’ asked while Tim switched books for his next classes. Because of Tim’s popularity, the many different websites devoted to Tim were continually looking for new information about their subject. Therefore, Cindy knew that, after his math class and before his English class, Tim went to his locker to exchange his math book for the bulkier English textbook. Cindy Diefendorf was leaning against the...
The mood in the locker room was euphoric. A true party atmosphere. The coaches usually spent a few minutes outside of the locker room during halftime of a game, to give the team leaders time to go over the play of their teammates. Then the coaches would come in and tell them what they saw during the first half, and then together, they would try to correct problems and plan for what to do in the second half. These were all severe concentration and serious work times for the game, even if the...
Monday morning. Tim could feel something in the air was ‘off’ as soon as he walked into the locker room. It was deathly quiet. Tim expected the spirits of his fellow football players to be high after the last weekend of Roosevelt football success. The JV and Freshman teams easily won their games against MacArthur, and the elation of the varsity win was still riding high if the number of requests for interviews in his email were to serve as a barometer. Tim quickly learned, though, that the...
“I can’t believe it. Still, no luck.” Alicia Martinez, a young reporter with KSAT-TV in San Antonio, got an early jump on the story of the year: an apparent riot broke out at a high-end, popular downtown restaurant. According to her sources, the riot was not a simple fight getting out of hand but also involved international star singer/songwriter/model/actress Olivia King and her boyfriend, YungBalla69. He was an Internet billionaire and notorious “traveling sideshow” of bad boy behavior. To...
“Murphy!” yelled Big John Fontana. The Theodore Roosevelt High School’s head coach and athletic director had just blown the final whistle for Monday morning practice. “Give me a second, son.” Tim Murphy finished his conversation with his friends before turning back toward the coaches. He and the other players were returning to the locker room for showers before beginning their regular school day. “Yeah, Coach?” Tim replied with his helmet under one arm. “I got a call from my old friend...
~Ring ring! Ring ring!~ Sonic groaned as he sat up on the couch, the loud ringing of his telephone waking him from his afternoon nap. Didn't people realise that saving the world was hard work? He thought he deserved a little relaxation after all these years! Sighing, the Blue Blur leaned over and picked up the receiver, holding it to his ear. "Hello?" he asked irritably, rubbing at his eyes. "Hello there, blue boy." Sonic nearly dropped the phone, snapped out of his grogginess...
Debutante Janet L. Stickney [email protected] I spent several hours getting ready for my debut, and once I got ready I did not hesitate, and walked out of my room. I just stood there a moment gathering my nerve before I walked down the few stairs and exposed myself to my mom. I wore a straight black skirt that was just above my knees with a red blouse and black heels. My hair was pulled into a ponytail and my makeup was muted and tasteful. She turned and saw me as I stopped on...
Tim’s father Raymond considered the chance to go with his son to his first football game something of a bonding opportunity. Going to the first varsity football game with his son and his son’s new best friends was like chocolate sprinkles on the desert. So Raymond and Tim with Johnnie Boynes, Mark Mazzurana, Jeff Green and Tony Parker were cruising toward Northside Stadium, home field for the Warren Warriors. Everyone was excited because they were all going to get a small taste of their first...
Juanita didn’t exactly know what to do to get Tim ready for his first game. Her initial feelings were to make a good solid breakfast, for him to have enough energy for the game. Raymond came in for his cup of coffee and was able to confirm what she was thinking, but she was making too much food. “Honey, what are you doing? Pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, cinnamon rolls. Good God, dear, we’ll never be able to finish all this off,” Raymond was rubbing her shoulders from...
-Brian- It had taken awhile to get Allison calmed down and it wasn't easy, let me tell ya. Christ, the poor girl was completely overwhelmed and totally shell-shocked. If I'd had my med-kit with me I'd of tranked her (For those of you not lucky enough to have needed the services of a field medic it means I'd slip her an shot of Don't-give-a-shit juice and tranquilize her.) but I didn't and as my daddy always said, "Wish in one hand, and shit in the other and guess which one fills up...
-Tampa- Brad glided into the parking area outside Grace's apartment complex and thumbed off the power. As much as he loved his bike it wasn't the first time he regretted not having one of the older IC-powered two-wheelers. His baby was a blast to ride but the almost silent hydrogen-fueled power cell just wasn't the same as one of the older piston-banging throbbers. He'd heard rumors that someone was going to introduce a replica of the old Harley-Davidson line using a...
I didn't stay long at the party ― it was their party, not mine ― and hiked back up to the flying bridge. I sat there for a while and burned one while thoughts flew through my head. What had I gotten myself in for? Was it more than a little flirting? (Okay, I knew it was more than just flirting, but how much more?) The only thing I knew for sure was that I didn't want it to stop no matter where it led. The weather guessers were right about the front coming in, for once. By 0100 it was...
Top came back a little over an hour later grinning like a mad fiend at the same time Weird surfaced from his daze. "The East Bay warehouses," Top announced triumphantly. "That checks," Weird nodded. "The first tracker on her limo stopped transmitting about midnight, just about the time she was supposed to have left the party. The second one didn't stop until they got right here." He placed his finger on a map of the Bay area. It was an area just west of East Bay. At one time there...
We couldn't tell how closely they had been watching Tink's house or even if they were so we didn't head straight there. I'm sure it would have been safe enough but I didn't want to take even the small chance of getting into a firefight. Besides I had no desire to see Cynthia right then and Tink didn't want to go back home just yet. Tink did call her to briefly say she was okay and would be home soon. Luckily I had to only hear half of that conversation. "I'm fine, Mom," Tink said...
- Daniel- Okay, I knew the Xanadu was big but until you look down at it from a few thousand meters you can't really know just how fucking big it really is! Sure I know the specs and you can look them up yourself if you want to: 1,450 meters in length, 524 meters wide, displaces about 180,000 tonnes and carries up to 20,000 passengers with a crew of almost 3,000. That's not a ship, it's a small floating island! We got a good look at it as we flew out to meet it on the shuttle. Of course...
-Sumalee- I was happier than I probably should have been when Daniel walked into my lounge again the next day and sat down at the bar. I could not tell you exactly why I was happy he had returned but I was. I mean ... looking at him through unbiased eyes he is not particularly handsome, other than in an everyman, rugged sort of way. But he was nice and listened, laughed at my silly jokes and seemed to be enjoying talking to me for a reason other than just a ploy to separate me from my...
-Sumalee- It was still dark when I woke up that first night although I could see a little in the dimness from the small amount of moonlight shining in through the window. I rubbed my cheek on the warm surface I was sprawled on and smiled when I was rewarded by the scratchy roughness of Daniel's chest hairs. I hadn't moved a centimeter from where I had fallen asleep and neither had he. I was still face down on his chest as he lay on his back. He was not snoring but I could hear and feel the...
-Mr. Black- "Do you have the vest made up?" Black asked as Green frowned at him. "Yeah, sort of," Green replied. Before Black could ask the obvious question he continued. "The gel is setting up and will be ready at the same time everything else is. It'll go off; no problem. No, the problem is the detonator; actually the remote activator for the detonator. This wasn't exactly in the mission plans so we didn't bring that kind of equipment with us. I was able to adapt an old raghead...
-Sumalee- To say it had been an interesting evening would be an understatement. The relationship Daniel has with his team would make for a lifetime study by any clinical psychologist. We met two more of them that night: the brothers Stanley and Samuel. Their reaction to Lidia and myself was fascinating. It was almost like they had known us as long as Michelle, Brian and Nathan; almost like they had shared memories. As I said, fascinating, exciting and just a little intimidating. Not that...
A Man of Wealth and Taste Raymond Murphy had trouble keeping the smile off his face. His son Tim was going on and on about how cool it was being on the sidelines for the varsity football win against the Clark Cougars. The first half of football featured an unsure Roosevelt team going up against a Clark team who, though good, was not up to their usual standards and was going to have a down year. Roosevelt was not expected to make the playoffs. “I’m telling you, Dad, Frank Robinson looked...
Leonard Huffnagle was having a lot of trouble looking for dirt on Tim Murphy from San Antonio Roosevelt High School. The only tangible thing he was able to confirm was that Tim had gifted the Trojan iPad, given by Coach Andrew Thomas of IMG Academy, to his little sister, Carmen. IMG was known for recruiting the best high school football players from across the country and giving them highly specialized coaching to better prepare them for college football. Kids graduating from IMG often...
Rodney Valentine’s throat was sore from his screaming. His knuckles were scratched and bruised from pounding on that poor, unsuspecting asshole who didn’t know any better. Rodney was especially pissed because no one could figure out why he was so pissed off in the first place. Valentine and his posse of teammates arrived at the house party a little bit later than everyone else, as usual. It was an unwritten rule that the host of the party would have the game highlights from that weekend’s...
Tim, Troy, Rob, Frank, and Jeff were quiet most of the way on the drive to the address included with their multi-colored cards found in their lockers after the beating the Rough Riders had given to the Johnson Jaguars. The five young men crammed into Jeff’s GTO were mostly quiet, daydreaming about the story Troy had told them. “I think I know what this is. You guys feel like having an experience?” Troy asked with a strange, tilted smile. “My dad told me a story that he said I could never...
A Messy Situation Once Tim Murphy closed his bedroom door and turned on the bedroom lamp, he blew a quick kiss to his one-and-only Cindy, taped up on the wall, and collapsed on the bed with the biggest smile of his life. Tim was quietly reliving what had happened to him after the game. When he laughed to himself, he realized he didn’t even think about the game when the great time he had that night ran through his mind. The quiet knock on the bedroom door alerted him to the here and now. The...
Tim Murphy and the nanites in his body had already written the two reports – one for his English class and the other for his US History class. It was just a matter of typing and formatting the report in the proper sets. All in all, the two assignments only took a few minutes to type, save, and email to their respective teachers. When he sent his English paper, he had a flash of remembrance of his short relationship with his English teacher, Julianne Holmes, considered one of the hot teachers...
The week of practice started with a few announcements from Big John on Monday morning. Big John had canceled morning practice with a sign written on the giant dry erase board along the long wall in the locker room. He didn’t cancel all practice, but it would be just no helmets or pads. That meant a full hour of lifting weights rather than working out on the practice fields in full pads – a day off for sure. Before practice would have typically begun, the Roosevelt football teams met in the...
Going into downtown San Antonio for evening dinner was rare for the Murphy family. Of course, they went out to dinner occasionally but not very far from their neighborhood. Raymond had ordered the women in his life to a day of indulgence at their favorite beauty spa to get pampered and eventually have their makeup done. While the womenfolk were enjoying their day of pampering, the men folk went to fill a glaring hole in the younger Murphy man’s life: the lack of a nice suit. Tim had never...
As they did so often, the Murphy family sang along with the music on the radio. The Murphy parents both enjoyed all genres and encouraged their children to listen to all types of music. Juanita had her favorites and listened to them with the specialized music channels through the cable provider. She preferred the popular hits from the 1980s and 1990s, while Raymond also preferred that and rock music from the 1970s. The patriarch of the family steered into a parking lot nearby the...
The next day was moving day. I've heard how being out on tour with an entertainer can seem a little like riding a tornado without a safety belt but you couldn't tell that by me. I've heard how some tours play twenty cities in twenty days but that isn't how things are done in Ireland. Time seems less important and venues aren't always open when you want them to be. We were doing 25 shows in three months and that included a two-week break in the middle to "relax." Not exactly an arduous...
The next few weeks were just plain work. It probably seems like touring with a popular band would be great fun and endless adventure but mostly it was a lot like combat: endless hours of boredom interrupted by moments of shear terror. Well, terror is probably a bit of an overstatement, maybe agitation and concern would be more appropriate. Anytime the girls were heading into a large crowd there was a concern; happily we hadn't had anything like the clusterfuck we'd seen in Clonakilty but...
This is the first chapter of a total of thirty. 01 – Debut Ah, the beach in Hawaii. One of the young women who just walked by with her two girlfriends had wonderfully large and almost perfectly hemispherical breasts. They looked firm, or at least firmer than my wife’s. Not that my wife has floppy breasts, mind you. Hers are really great, not much less firm than when we met more than a dozen years ago. But, the young woman who just walked by, maybe in her early twenties, had tits like my...
Snowy rang the bell at the side door marked "JLS Studios" of a rather imposing house in North Hollywood. Her appointment was for 9:30 a.m. and she was a bit early. The job had been advertised only once--for a "petite" girl for a photo and video shoot, no experience required, a rarity in the LA area. She didn't want to miss the chance.A tall, thin black man answered the door."Hello, are you Miss Newland?""Yes sir, I'm here about the modeling job.""Come right in. I'm Jerome Sutter. You're right...

Lori's Debut - by Melissa Monroe CHAPTER ONE Lying on the floor of the stretch limousine, trussed up like a Christmas turkey, with a ball gag between my lips keeping me silenced, I thought back over the last few months and wondered how I had gotten my self into such a predicament. George, the limousine driver, wasn't helping my concentration. He had his hand under my tiny pleated skirt, "checking out the goods," as he put it, while he regaled me with all the things he'd love...
DEBUT By Bea Kathy grinned at me. Put her hand on the doorknob, "Show time! Okay?" Despite the thud of my heartbeat in my chest and the closed door to the living room, I could hear the indistinct voices of my mother and mother-in-law as they gossiped in there, chuckling every so often. I took a nervous breath. Shook my head. She shook hers as well, regretfully, but took her hand away from the knob. "Ok. I'll give you a few more seconds to compose yourself. Let's have a last...
Kristen's Debut - by Rachael Free I knew I was in deep trouble when I heard the door close. I was supposed to be alone all day. She was going to a big mall two hours from here with here friends. Not only did I hear the door but I also heard the voices of other women. Boy was I in trouble. I just sat there at my computer wondering what to do next. It didn't take long for the ultimate confrontation. Working from home as an IT consultant gave me a great opportunity to enjoy my...
Lori's Story 02 - Lori's Debut By Sheila Anne Morgan I picked Greg up at the airport and drove him home. He wanted to stop for dinner but I told him I had a surprise waiting for him at home. I was dressed casually in jeans and a stretch top so he didn't suspect anything. When we got home I fixed Greg a drink and told him I would be right back. I hurried to our bedroom and took off my jeans and top. Under them I was wearing my lingerie for this evening. I quickly donned my skirt...
A Loving Wife's Birthday Present The Debut ? Preamble Sian was ready on time as per his instructions. Impatient for his beloved presence, she paced the house, pausing in front of a full length mirror to check her appearance. Critically she assessed what she saw. She was tallish for a woman, around 5'8". Her thick, sherry coloured curls were swept up tightly into a band. Loose, it fell in luxuriant, curling waves to her hips and was a secret, closely held source of pride. She felt...
Suzanne and I had spent a few months working with Hannah. A couple times a week she would come over and we would set about working on her flexibility and stamina. Our collective thinking was we'd rather be over prepared for her debut. We decided to have the party at our house for a change; it would give us time to set up how we wanted to, and we could incorporate all the elements we wanted into the night. I'd been assigned the duty of constructing a couple of restraint devices for the evening....

Feb 12, 2011 10:24 Am You were supposed to have checked out of the hotel by 11 am. The bags were packed but you had needs that must be tended to before leaving. A long flight awaited you at the airport and knowing you couldn't stand to be this horny all the way home you decided to take matters into your own hands one more time before leaving. I had been given the key to your room from the hotel manger. This was a room that was scheduled for remodeling and my contracting firm was putting in a...
A by product of time travel that no one knew about was the momentary blindness and nausea brought on from the rapid assault to your senses immediately after travel. But for some reason only on your return. When he re-materialized in the time travel chamber, Tim Murphy needed to shield his eyes from the suddenly ultra bright lights. He also needed to make a concerted effort to control his nausea. Nausea controlled and his sensitivity to light diminishing, Tim decided it was time to see how...
The drive to the hospital was uneventful and easy enough. Tim’s mother, Juanita, parked the family SUV in a General’s parking spot, right outside the front entrance to the emergency room. Tim’s father, Raymond, who was standing just inside the ER doors, knew from the frantic sound of his wife’s voice on the phone that she would not obey the parking rules and would take the first available space she found. Raymond quickly reached the SUV before Juanita could turn off the engine. He stuck his...
