I entered the kitchen and asked dad if he needed any help. He got me to
set the table, as I did so I heard mum come home. "Hi honey" she said as

would be ready shortly so she headed upstairs to get changed. Not long

new friends," Dad told mum. "They came over this afternoon." "That's
great," mum said. "One of them is a boy," dad said winking at mum. "Oh
really?" mum asked. "Do you like him?" she said. "Dad!" I whined at him.
"It's nothing like that. George and I are just friends and we've only
just met." "Ok Ok," mum said chuckling, "is he pretty though?"
"Um, yeah I guess." I hadn't really thought about it when I met him but
now I guess you could say I was kind of attracted to him. "He's not like
the other boys though. He's into a lot of girl stuff." "He seemed really
nice when he said hello to me this afternoon," Dad pointed out. "In
fact, I think he might have a bit of a crush on you." "Really? I asked.
"How do you know?" "Oh a boy knows these things. You'll just have to
figure it out, but I saw the way he looked at you."
After dinner I asked to be excused and mum asked if I had any homework
to do. I only had math but she said that I should go do it now. So I
headed up to my room to get started on it. Part way through the homework
I got stuck on a really hard question. I could ask mum for some help but
I thought this might be a good chance to talk to George. I got my phone
out and dialled his number. "Hey Laura. What's up?" he asked. "Have you
done the homework for Mrs Kennedy's class yet?" "Oh sure. I just
finished it actually. Which one has you stuck?" I explained the question
and George helped me through the problem.
"Thanks George. You've been a big help." "No problem," George replied in
a cheerful tone. "We still on for tomorrow afternoon? I can't wait to
kick you guys butts tomorrow." I laughed. "Yeah we'll see about that. I
have a lot more experience at the game than you three do." "True,"
George said. "Hey speaking off which on Saturday, I have a softball game
with the school. Fancy coming along?" It figures that he would be on a
sports team of some sort. "Yeah, that'd be cool," I replied. "Great see
you tomorrow." He hung up and I put my phone down and finished off my
homework.
Once I finished, I sat on my bed playing on the PlayStation for a bit
before getting ready for bed. I said goodnight to my parents and then
got into bed.
The next morning I got up and ready for school. I took a quick shower
and then threw on a pair of underwear, jeans and the shirt that I had
worn yesterday. I then headed downstairs for breakfast. "Morning honey,"
dad said who was at the table in a pink dressing gown eating his
breakfast. Being a househusband meant that he didn't have to get ready
to go out anywhere. "Morning dad," I said grabbing my cereal and pouring
myself a bowl.
After breakfast I said goodbye to dad, grabbed my backpack that was by
the door. I checked that my homework was in it and then headed out to
catch the bus. The morning passed by uneventfully and so it came to
lunchtime when I headed to the cafeteria.
Grabbing a tray of food I sat down with my new friends and we talked
about the morning and then what we planned to do this afternoon. "Uh oh.
Don't look now George but here come Sam and Nathan." "Oh great," George
said sighing. "What do those two bitches want now?" I looked around and
two of the hottest boys that I had ever seen were heading towards our
table. From looking at them I could tell that these two where in the
cheerleading squad as they wear currently wearing the uniform. The
uniform consisted of a white and teal crop top with showed off their
midriffs and a white short pleated skirt. They both wore white sneakers.
"Look who it is," the blonde one said with a smirk. "Buzz off Sam,"
George grunted. "That's not very nice is it?" Sam said. "We just came to
say hello to your new friend." They both introduced themselves and I
shyly introduced myself. They were both incredibly attractive and I
think they knew it, the way they carried themselves. "So Laura, have you
thought about trying out for the football team?" Sam asked. "You look
like you have the right build for it. And we would get to see each other
more often. If you know what I mean?" he asked smiling putting one of
his hands on my shoulder.
"Aren't you dating Jessica?" George asked. "Sure but it doesn't hurt to
check out the new talent right?" Sam said winking at me again. "Slut,"
George muttered under his breath. "at least I have a girlfriend," Sam
said. "You'll never get one looking like that. One would almost think
that you were gay the way you go around hanging out with girls and
dressing like that." At that point George stood up angrily, making fists
with his hands. "Come on then," he said. "I'll take you on. You won't be
looking so pretty once I'm done with you," he said snarling.
I stood up and got between the two. "Hey come on guys. Calm down."
George looked at me and took a deep breath and sat back down. "Well I
guess we'll see you around Laura," Sam said giving me another wink
before he left. I sat back down at the table. "Dude, I think you're in
there!" Hannah commented once things had settled down. "Oh please,"
George said. "Laura's not into those blonde himbos are you Laura?" he
asked me. "Well, I..." I stammered. They were pretty hot. "God I can't
believe it!" George said. "You're just like the rest of them aren't
you?" he said crossly waving his hands towards Hannah and Linda.
"I didn't mean that," I replied. "I mean sure, there are attractive.
What girl doesn't want to be with a hot cheerleader?" I looked at Hannah
and Linda who both nodded agreeing. "But after seeing how they behaved,
I'm not sure that I'm into that thing." "Really?" George asked. "Yeah,
there's no way I could stand being with a stuck up bitch like that."
George laughed. "Ok then. I'll let you off. This time," he said with a
wink. "Just you wait until I whoop your ass later," he said giving me a
playful punch on the arm. The bell signalling the end of lunch rang and
we all headed off to our classes.
